wrestling fic writers!!

i have decided to be the change i wanna see, so lets do a nice little thing for each other, as a community full of incredible and talented writers. yes this is writer specific only, but thats cause thats where the main problem of people not interacting with creative works lies in this fandom as far as i can tell and have seen people talking about it especially in the last couple of months

if you read this, please add links to your written works. it can be just a single fic youre really proud of, your writing blog, your writing tag, your ao3 account, anything where your works can be found

and if you leave your link here, PLEASE check out someone else that has left their works, and interact with them. leave them a comment, even just a kudos, REBLOG their fic, etc. interacting is the keyword i want to emphasize here, along with building a sort of a masterpost of where to find people writing in this fandom

and if you are not a writer, youre still highly encouraged to interact with this post and share it and show love to the writers in this fandom, obviously!! i think that should go without saying, but adding it in anyways

and unless the amount gets really overwhelming, im personally going to be checking out everyone that leaves something here. unless it squeaks me out, but even then, i'll spread the word. and i just wish as many people as possible will do the same, and not just use this as a potential board to only get eyes on their stuff. ofc thats also the point, but you should give as much, if not more, than you get. we need to be kind and supportive of one another (besides, from personal experience, if you show love to someone else, they are more likely to do it back than without you taking the first step, so... pay it forward)

and just in general.. leave people comments. leave them asks about their projects. just go over and gush about their work. i know it sounds embarrassing but writers love nothing more than to hear that someone likes what they are doing. if you find a fic that hasnt been updated in forever, comment on it. it might just be the spark the author needs to continue. while kudos and likes are nice, and just as valuable to some, its definitely in the words the people leave for them that matter the most. im not saying this to put pressure on anyone, its just how it is, and i feel like unless people are writers themselves, and even then sometimes, thats just hard to grasp, especially if the writer is a smaller and less popular one who doesnt get a lot of traffic in the first place

i think thats all. just be nice and considered to everyone, reblog peoples works, this post with others add ons and so forth. and if i find anyone talking shit here or at other writers for something they share, you'll be blocked and im probably taking your kneecaps. be fucking nice. we are all struggling here and we need to stick together

making my own post to comment on this cuz i don’t feel like being directly involved with the people in this convo since they’re all kids fbdbxjdbdbd

so they were responding to the statement (directly quoted), “petplay also overlaps with non & alterhumanity and deserve to use relevant tags” to which they avidly and dare i say… aggressively? disagreed. there was also a lot of commentary on the post saying petplay is something that shouldnt be associated w/ alterhumanity and pet regression. (that’s my understanding, anyway.)

so first off, i think it’s just blatantly incorrect to say that there isn’t an overlap between alterhumanity, petre, and pet play. not everyone who is alterhuman does petplay, not everyone who pet regresses does petplay, but some do. that’s unavoidable! there is going to be overlap, even if it isn’t the experience that everyone has. because alterhumanity isn’t something experienced by Only Children. adults do adult things & the fact of the matter is, tumblr is kinda catered more towards adults in the first place anyway. if this were actively a children’s website, i’d say ofc we should keep petplay elsewhere. but if once in a while, someone who is both in the alterhuman & petplay community uses tags accordingly, i don’t really see the issue? this is what tag blockers were made for. + you can’t really kick adults out of their own communities. tumblr is literally one of the only places people can go to even discuss any of this stuff. this is THE meeting place. obvi i don’t think people need to be posting straight nsfw in the alterhuman tags but certain tags pertaining to like, (animal)girl, (animal)boy, etc — yeah, there’s probably gonna be nsfw due to the general culture surrounding its usage anyway. minors can exist here on tumblr but heck!! make ur own sfw tags if you continue having this problem! be a pioneer! idk man. i hope that all makes sense. i struggle with writing down linear thoughts. it’s bedtime now 🐉

since the conversation is still going, there's something I want to ask, in relation to it, as someone who rarely reblogs (but who likes everything and has started sending comments as well). and it's not your place to educate me, ofc - so please, feel free to ignore me, google search has been sort of helpful, even if some of these answers look like they have been written by bots.

Is there any reblogging etiquette? I rarely reblog because it makes me extremely anxious. I am afraid I am gonna leave out a tag that should have been there. Include a tag that everyone knows shouldn't be used but I am not aware of, because I live under a rock. Or even worse, I'm afraid that if I keep the original author tags, I am going to keep a tag that was personal to the author and I am going to offend them. or that I will reblog the same post that a gazillion people have been reblogging in the last 10 minutes and it's going to make people annoyed at the content for seeing it repeatedly, instead of at me for timing my reblog poorly.

I suppose the tag thing is different for everyone. I don’t really care about what tags are used on my posts personally. It actually makes me laugh whenever I see someone reblog my posts and keep my tags when I say the dumbest shit in tags. I think I said something about wanting to guzzle Kiri’s cum and the person who reblogged it from me kept the tag and it made me smile as much as it probably did the OP!

I don’t think any author would tell you off for reblogging their post with the same tags, they’d probably just be ecstatic to get a reblog at all tbh! And if it did really bother them I’d hope they would be respectful enough to politely mention it to you privately so you can adjust accordingly.

Again, I know it’s different for everyone but I love seeing the same post reblogged onto my dash multiple times it’s like “yesss my friends like the same fics as me” or “omg we liked the same ideas/pics” almost like we’re a little fanclub or something🥺

I think the comments mean just as much to authors too so even just leaving a keyboard smash could make someone’s day.

Short Answer:

*sighs* In the nicest way possible, no; DLDR.

Long Answer:

*cracks knuckles* The way I write my characters, it’s actually x reader. My “OFCs” aren’t actually OFCs unless explicitly stated. I can’t write “y/n” or “you”; it’s not my style. I do, however, want as many people to enjoy the fics, so I make it general. I don’t describe eye colour, skin colour, hair colour/texture, weight/height, etc. I use open-ended words and general details that leave the character up to interpretation. If a reader imagines that she has dark skin and red hair, then she does, if the reader imagines that she has pale skin and purple hair, then she does. The only thing I do is pick a random name and go with it. But, enough about me, let’s talk about content creators, specifically, authors.

Authors tag their fics, not only to notify you about the fic but also to reach a certain audience. Not nearly enough people share or reblog our work, so we have to pick up the slack and tag a little more than necessary. If you want to complain about that, whip out a list of your favourite fanfic writers and go complain to every single one of them who does it. Chances are, 95% of them do it. We don’t just tag our work for your convenience or as a warning, we also tag to reach others with like-minded interests. I do understand the difference, but, it's the same audience. Everyone searching through those tags are looking for Loki content.

A little side note about tagging fics: When we do tag fics, don’t ignore the tags and warnings! They are there for a reason! If it’s non-con, dub-con, smut, fluff, angst, etc. we let you know through tags! If you proceed anyway, that’s no longer in my control, and I take no responsibility for your reactions or if it triggers you. I take time to tag these fics to prevent that from happening, and if you work with me and read the tags, everything would be fine. I recently had a friend dealing with some underage readers. Her story is marked explicit for its (delicious) smutty content, yet readers under 18 are still, reading it! If your innocence is tainted because you read my fic, which I explicitly stated is not for someone your age, that's not my problem or my fault. There will always be warnings/tags, and there will always be rule breakers. I will try my best to control what I can, but as a consumer, you have to judge accordingly as well.

So, please, instead of chewing me out for “tagging semantics” and your personal preference not being fulfilled, just please appreciate the content? If you don’t like it, just don’t read it. No one is forcing you and those tags are there for more reasons than just letting you know about the fic. Content creators work hard on their craft only for it to barely reach anyone. People don’t share original content nearly as much as they should. There’s always such a demand for free, new content, yet a fraction of the thanks in return.

Don’t take this the wrong way, anon. I know you mean well and I thank you for reading my work, along with everyone else who posts. This ask just struck close to home as a creator. We work hard to provide these written fantasies, and it just feels so disheartening, to see a comment like this. I feel happy to provide content. I tag to not only make you aware of things but also reach a larger audience. So, why is this such a big deal?

also I dont do talking posts a lot, but I feel like you guys should know that thanks to a couple of friends I have completely fallen in love with a couple video games, so pls block the following tags if they arent your thing:

Please take time to listen to the song at the end. It makes me happy, and I kept listening to it as I wrote the end of this series.

Triggers: There are going to be some dark themes in this series that deal with the consequences of what happens when parents don’t put their children first. I promise I won’t get graphic, and I’ll tag each section accordingly. This will tie in with future events and another aspect of Bastien and Rinda’s personalities—as individuals and as a couple.

Series Summary: It’s the week of October 14th, the sixth week of the school year. Henry and Rinda are staying in Cordonia, which means that Rinda can now begin to move forward, and backwards, with professional and personal aspects of her life.

One inspiration while I wrote this was a quotation from Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God:

“Love is lak de sea. It’s uh movin’ thing, but still and all, it takes its shape from de shore it meets, and it’s different with every shore.”

The other was these lyrics from the song “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables:

“But the tigers come at night / With their voices soft as thunder / As they tear your hope apart / As they turn your dream to shame.”

Chapter Summary: This jumps back to Friday night after the appreciation dinner. Bastien desperately needs to see Rinda and make sure she knows how much she means to him.

Friday Night after the Appreciation Dinner

When Bastien first met Rinda he could instantly describe her physical features. He could do that with anyone because of his training. But he quickly learned that she was a contradiction of sorts, using her inappropriate sense of humor to diffuse intense situations, appearing insensitive when really she cared too much. Her passion for work, yet she always made sure Henry knew he was her priority. She seemed so professional and confident, yet she had moments of intense insecurity and self-doubt. She could be so shy and so reserved, yet she swore like a sailor and had a wicked sense of humor. She was a loving mother to Henry—and the entire neighborhood of children—yet she had the most chaotic household and laid-back parenting approach when it came to many things. He was still shocked that Rinda was okay with Henry using occasional curse words at home, or watching Rick and Morty, or not making his bed every morning. But if Henry ever spoke rudely to another person or purposely used a word to hurt someone, he immediately felt her wrath. Henry knew to be kind to other people and do his part to protect them, and Rinda always helped Henry talk through ways he could make a difference in his own way.

After Bastien dropped off Drake he drove to Rinda’s house. It was late, and he didn’t even take the time to message that he was coming over. He was still processing, unsure of what to say to her. But he desperately needed to see her.

When he got out of his car, Bastien heard the boys playing in the backyard. The entire neighborhood was in the backyard. Like always. Rinda’s house was the unofficial gathering place for everyone, and right now there were a lot of happy children running around, some playing tag and others playing football. Rinda was sitting in a chair and had a baby monitor next to her—the Manikas boys must be asleep inside—and she was in her banana pajamas, hair down, laughing with Mr. Ariti. But she knew when he was there and she quickly turned around, happy to see him but also ready to tease him. “Bastien, she wasn’t able to retie your tie?” Bastien came over and dropped to his knees. “Tria. I need to talk to you. Please.”

Mr. Ariti quickly spoke. “I’ll stay out here with the kids.” Bastien nodded and stood up. He took Rinda’s hand as he walked inside with her.

Rinda was worried. “Bastien, what’s wrong? Please.”

“We promised we wouldn’t talk about things until the visit was over. And now it is, and I needed to see you right away. Tria, earlier this week Drake yelled at me when we talked about having Vivian on the guest list. Originally he told me to take Vivian off the list, and I didn’t know anything that was going on with her children, and I told him he was overacting. I’m so sorry. And he did tell me something, but he said it to help me realize how badly I fucked up. He told me that when you two first met, you told him that you wished time would stop so you would have time to catch up. Tria, do you still feel that way?”

Rinda shrugged. “No matter how patient you are and how often you reassure me, there’s always going to be someone like Vivian who is more than ready.”

“Tria, you’re the opposite of Vivian in every way.” He saw Rinda tense and he very quickly wrapped his arms around her and kept speaking. “That is one of the highest compliments I could give you. You’re an amazing mother and even though you always put Henry first, you still know how to balance being an incredible teacher and neighbor and friend . . . and Tria. You’re so damn funny and you drive me crazy, and I can’t imagine my life without you. Don’t ever compare yourself to her or anyone else, because you’re my Tria and I love you just the way you are.”

Bastien could feel Rinda’s body start to shake. “I did always wish time would just stop so I could catch up with everyone. Or that there would be someone who would wait for me to get my shit together and who would wait for me to catch up. And you’re doing that, Tiger. But I’m still not there. I’m still not caught up and I still need you to please wait for me, and maybe for Henry too. He loves you, but I don’t know how he would react if . . .” She suddenly stopped, not sure of how she should finish the sentence.

Bastien stared into her hazel eyes. Not dark eyes. Blonde curly hair that was untamable. Not straight, dark hair that was perfect. Someone who needed to step on her tiptoes to hug him, someone he had to lift off the ground or bend down to reach. Not someone who was only a few inches shorter than him and could easily wrap her arms around him. Someone who was clueless about football and needed forever to order a simple meal at a restaurant. Not someone who knew his favorite teams and would watch games with him, who could quickly and competently order a basic meal. Someone who was so generous with her affection, but only when she was ready. Someone who needed the person she was with to earn her trust and love. Someone who hasn’t kissed him on the lips yet, not someone who kissed him on the lips as a casual greeting, as if it meant nothing. Someone who shyly revealed that she wasn’t ready for an intimate relationship yet. Not someone who made it clear she would have sex with him now. Because really, it meant nothing to Vivian. Not everything, like it did for Rinda.

But now Bastien came back to Rinda, who was patiently waiting for him to respond. “You aren’t taking too long. I promise, you’re not.” Bastien gently cupped her face in his hands and looked into her eyes. “Tria, do you want me to keep waiting for you to catch up? Will you let me wait for you, sweetheart? And wait for Henry?”

Rinda looked at Bastien with so much hope in her eyes. They were green eyes that held the promise of new beginnings.

Her voice was a soft whisper. “Yes.”

Then she reached up to gently kiss his forehead. She slowly kissed down his nose, playfully nuzzling the tip of her nose with his. Her left hand cupped his face and he laced his fingers between hers, no ring grazing his skin. Rinda left a trail of kisses down the other side of his face, tracing along his cheekbone, once again nuzzling him with her nose, this time near his mouth.

Then she stopped, her left hand still laced with his, her right hand slowly caressing his face as it moved to his neck, then shoulder. Her lips close to his, she was letting him know that she wanted this, but he was going to be the one to kiss her.

And he did.

Slowly, lovingly. His thumb caressed her cheek as his tongue gently traced her lower lip, seeking permission to deepen their kiss. As Rinda’s fingers ran through his hair and cupped his face again, she gently sucked on his tongue to bring him closer. Bastien heard himself moan as he melted into her kiss, becoming part of that moment where it was only the two of them. Nothing else. And when she gently pulled back from the kiss, she leaned back in so Bastien could rest his forehead against hers.

“I love you, Tria.”

“I love you too, Tiger.”

i’m allison or ashtyn ( she / her ) , depends on who you ask. i’m TWENTY-TWO years old & bi af. ENGLISH is my first language. my current timezone is us / canada central , & i’m in my fourth year at university studying classics.

DISCLAIMER & PORTRAYAL.

i am not sigyn iwaldisdottir , nor am i any faceclaim used on this blog. i do not own the marvel cinematic universe or norse mythos. while sigyn is canon in the comics , she has yet to make an appearance in the mcu ( & is highly doubtful to do so in the future ) , so a lot of this will be mun interpretations & heavily headcanon-based , so most interactions & other information found on this blog will be considered slightly au but will follow the canon storyline set within the cinematic universe. i do draw some inspiration from sigyn’s comic story ; however , there are several elements that i heavily dislike & will not include ( for example , loki & sigyn’s marriage being a forced marriage , as well as the abusive elements in it ).

INTERACTIONS & UNFOLLOWING.

as of january 2017 , this blog is considered PRIVATE & INDEPENDENT. these past few school years have been particularly stressful & time consuming , & i know as the years go by , it will only get more intense , so i have decided to limit the amount of people i am interacting with to further enjoy roleplaying & build deeper relationships between sigyn & other characters.

on that note , i only roleplay with MUTUALS. this is not to discourage anyone to seek out roleplaying with me nor is this a statement on anyone else’s roleplaying skills. it is merely simpler & a better use of my time. this means any starter calls , ic memes , & open threads are for mutuals only. HOWEVER , feel free to send me any & all questions about my character , mutual or not.

personally , i prefer FORMATTED posts with corresponding edited icons , & i tend to gravitate towards others who do the same. but , i do not require nor ask that my roleplaying partner match my format. & i will roleplay with / follow people who don’t use formatting / icons / etc. i reserve the right to unfollow you without getting yelled at / hate / etc. REASONS I WILL NOT INTERACT & OR UNFOLLOW someone include but are not limited to basic grammar mistakes , untagged spoilers & nsfw content , bigotry of any kind , etc. i try to keep a positive dashboard , so i can enjoy roleplaying , but i do believe callouts are sometimes necessary when it comes to things like theft , homophobia , racism , etc. they will be tagged accordingly for everyone’s comfort , so if you prefer not to see such things , please blacklist #callout tw.

on the same note , if i do say or do something out of line when it comes in context of race / gender / sexuality , please let me know. i’m bi , but i’m still white & cis , & although i would like to say i’m well informed on these matters , i know there’s things i don’t know a lot about & somethings i’ll never completely understand because i can’t live through that experience. i’d rather be told if i’ve done something out of line & work to correct it than let it fester unchecked. i’m definitely not perfect & i know i’ve made mistakes before , which is why i’m trying to be better about creating more appropriate psds & trying to make sure i give more attention to muses of color , including my own , but i am trying to work to fix those. if you ever feel like i’m speaking over your voice on something , let me know. it’s not something i want to do.

ACTIVITY LEVEL.

with the same stance as above , i roleplay because i enjoy it. it provides me an opportunity to develop my writing skills & understand the characters i write on a deeper level. i’m currently in my fourth out of five years of university , & i just recently switched my major. what does this boil down to ? well , i probably won’t be on nearly as much as i was in high school , so don’t expect a lot of activity during the daytime , & please understand that it will take me longer to respond to longer threads. however , you can probably expect high activity between the hours of 9-12 PM US CENTRAL TIME because this is the time i have set aside to relax & focus on my writing & myself.

most icons in my threads are mine , while most gif images found in my threads are not mine. please do not use without my permission. any icons , gifs , & other graphics made by me can be found under THIS tag ( although , it should be noted gifs in the moodboards were not made by me unless otherwise stated ). any icons & gifs i place in a resource hunt are free to use. do not use any other graphics without my permission ( i.e. sidebars , headers , etc ).

i do practice having mains & exclusives , simply so i can have better continuity with my partners. a full list of my mains & exclusives can be found HERE. my mains have priorities to thread & meme responses , obviously , & it should be noted that interactions with my mains are typically considered to be placed in the sigyn’s canon unless otherwise stated. i will not go fully exclusive with certain characters because there are either not enough of them around or the player is only on once in a blue moon , or simply because i do not want to limit my interactions with different interpretations of said character. never hesitate to ask if you would like to become exclusive ; however , i will approach you if i would like for you to become one of my mains.

while not exclusive , this blog’s main loki is @avengcs , & as such , most headcanons regarding sigyn’s relationship with loki have been based on plotting & interactions with their portrayal.

SHIPPING.

chemistry , above all else is super important to me; however, from previous interactions , i do have ships i see sigyn in predominantly ( i.e. ofc , sigyn / loki ). it should be noted sigyn is BISEXUAL & BIROMANTIC.

Following & Interaction

I will only follow back after interaction or plotting, I want to have a dash full of people I know and whose characters I know, instead of a dash full of people I only watch from afar.

My memes and starter/plotting calls are open for everyone, obviously, and you are highly welcome to use them as means to contact me! Alternatively, you are also welcome to just drop by in my IMs! I am a super friendly potato!

Notice: If you followed first, you might see me liking a starter call or sending in a meme to reach out before following back, ofc you are free to ignore it or get back to me at a later point!

However, please remember that it’s still my right to turn down an idea or to not reply to a meme if I cannot see a way to reply. On the subject of memes, I am an unreliable memer and will often not actually reply to all memes I receive, so that’s something you should be aware of. It’s nothing personal.

My Queue is set to once daily, posting a reply every two days. This allows me to puffer up times of business etc and allows me to keep on top of my drafts, which means I can handle more threads simultaneously. Therefore, I will definitely take a good while to get back to you, sometimes a couple of weeks. If you are feeling impatient, just hit me up, I generally don’t mind posting replies earlier or right away if my partner prefers a quicker pace!

Relationships, Plotting, shipping

First of all, I am a big fan of plotting and pre-established relationships, as it often helps me getting excited for our characters’ interaction. Therefore, if you are interested in plotting anything, by any means, PLEASE come talk to me!

Generally, I am up for all kinds of plots, though it varies greatly by mood, as you can imagine. As always, simply hit me up!

When it comes to shipping… I had many bad experiences with shipping in the past, including being treated as some sort of “back-up ship” for when boredom hits, therefore I will be extremely selective with ships, as well as most likely “singleship per verse”, which means I will probably only take one ship per verse for Janna, with a partner who is excited and dedicated enough to do the same with me. However, this is as negotiable as pretty much anything else, so don’t worry, I won’t slam in on you making demands!

Triggers, Mun Info, Etc

I try to tag all triggers accordingly, in the form tw blood/gore/suicide etc. if it’s something I do not consider to be a ‘typical’ trigger, i will tag it as ‘word cw’ , such as negativity, alcohol, etc. If you ever see me forgetting to tag something you need tagged, please message me ( for that, anon is fine too, just please be polite about it, I am simply forgetful)

The mun is Vee, 22 years old, from germany, big nerd, loves to write in German and French too if the opportunity arises. I am fine with giving out my skype or discord, just hit me up via IM!

One inspiration while I wrote this was a quotation from Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God:

“Love is lak de sea. It’s uh movin’ thing, but still and all, it takes its shape from de shore it meets, and it’s different with every shore.”

The other was these lyrics from the song “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables:

“But the tigers come at night / With their voices soft as thunder / As they tear your hope apart / As they turn your dream to shame.”

Chapter Summary: Rinda and Laura worked together to get Maxwell the most awesoooooome thank you gift possible.

Maxwell’s Gift

Laura and Rinda had something for Maxwell, but Rinda insisted that Drake be the one to actually give it to Maxwell. Laura called Rinda to see if she could Facetime, and everyone heard Rinda laughing as she kept trying to move Owen’s fingers out of her mouth. He was the youngest Manikas boy. “Owen, no. I’m full. Please. No more Cheerios that you had in your mouth. Yuck. Pleh. Pleh. Blech.” Owen and Will giggled as Rinda made fake spitting and puking noises. Then Henry, Phillip, and Alex got in the way. “Hi Ms. Halkais! Did Maxwell like his gift? Mom was afraid it wouldn’t come in time.”

Laura was laughing. “Hush, he hasn’t opened it yet. But if you’re quiet you’ll be able to watch, okay?” There was cheering and Laura tried to keep a straight face. “That’s NOT being quiet.” Roussos’s facial muscles twitched as he tried not to laugh at how excited the kids were. He remembered bonding with Henry while they played UNO and talked about Rick and Morty shows, and Rinda kept in touch with all of the guards who helped bring Henry to Cordonia. He was slightly familiar with the craziness of the Parks family.

“Laura, can you hand me to Maxwell for a second?”

“Hi Rinda Rose Rose!”

“Hey Maxwell! Laura, Drake and I got you a present. And there’s two things you need to know, so you know just how special this gift is and how amazing you are. First, this used to belong to one of my best friends from high school, and she wants you to have it. She says you will love it more than she ever could. Okay?”

Maxwell started squirming in his seat and clapping his hands with excitement. “Maxwell, the phone! You’re killing me over here!”

“Oh, I’m so sorry Rinda Rose Rose. What else?”

“Okay, my other best friend’s mom makes quilts out of old clothing. It’s actually really meaningful. Like, she made one for me out of my old prom dresses and bridesmaid dresses. She made a baby blanket for Henry using part of my wedding dress and my maid of honor’s dress. And she made another quilt out of some of Henry’s baby clothes. My favorite outfits. So please know that she takes really special clothes that have special meaning, and making quilts is her way of preserving those memories. Does that make sense?”

Maxwell nodded. Whatever the present was, he knew it would be amazingly wonderful.

Laura took the phone back. “Okay Drake, that’s your cue.” Laura kept holding the phone so Rinda could see Maxwell’s reaction.

Drake handed the box to Maxwell. “So, um, Parks felt bad that she said she hates New Kids on the Block and refused to let you use one of their songs. And I still hate boy bands, so I don’t feel bad about anything. But thanks for helping us with the dance jam. The kids really loved it, and Laura, Rinda, and I really appreciated it.”

Maxwell opened the box and started screaming. The guards rushed in front of Riley and Liam, ready to do an emergency evacuation, but Riley laughed and shooed them aside. Maxwell was now standing up, holding a quilt made out of old New Kids on the Block concert T-shirts. He was sobbing with joy. “Rinda Rose Rose, how could your friend give this up?”

Rinda laughed. “Well, I may have asked her husband first. He was quite adamant that they could get rid of that masterpiece.”

Maxwell was reverently touching each T-shirt. “Rinda, this is from their Hangin’ Tough Tour. Oh my gosh! April 24, 1989. Do you know what day that is?”

Rinda snickered. “I have no clue, Maxwell. I should probably give you my friend’s number so you two can bond. She went to all of those concerts.”

“Oh my gosh, that would be awesooooome! It’s the very first NKOTB Day! And she has a T-shirt from it. Oh my God! And these are from the Magic Summer Tour . . .”

Rinda was laughing. “Maxwell, I have to go now. But thank you for everything. The kids loved it so much, and I hope you can join us for another dance jam. We can do a boy band song next time, I promise. And I promise I’ll also give you my friend’s phone number, but just let me warn her first, okay? And you’ll have to promise to only call once a day and be sure you know the time zone differences before I give you the number. Promise?”

Maxwell nodded. He would agree to anything, just for the chance to speak with the friend of Rinda Rose Rose who actually attended these concerts and collected these T-shirts.

Chapter Summary: It’s the end of the school day and Rinda is relieved that everyone is safe and the visit went by without any drama.

Not Better, but Easier

The day was over, at last, and Rinda breathed a sigh of relief. She was so afraid there would be an attack at the school that day. It made sense. What better way to weaken the safety initiative than to attack the school when the King and Queen were there? But they all did their job, everyone was safe, and Rinda was ready to get home. Phillip and Henry were playing outside, and she was just going to finish up a few things in the classroom and they’d get going. She wasn’t even going to change out of the football uniform. But then her Spidey sense went off, and she turned around in shock to see Bastien standing in the doorway.

“Tiger! I thought the King and Queen left already?”

He closed her classroom door and walked over to wrap her in a hug, gently lifting Rinda off her feet. “They did, and Maxwell too, but I’m staying behind to say hi and finish up a few things here. Tria, are you sure you don’t want to go tonight? You’ve already done your hair.” Rinda’s hair was still in crazy pigtails, and when Bastien set her down he grabbed one and gave it a gentle pull.

Rinda laughed. “I don’t think the rest of the world is ready for this much sexy troll hair. Besides, I’m babysitting the Manikas boys tonight, and Henry, Phillip, and Alex offered to help if I let them have a sleepover.” Rinda paused. “Bastien, you know how superstitious I’ve been about today. I’m glad it went so well and everyone is safe, but now I’m glad it’s over and I just want to be home. Really. Even if Vivian wouldn’t be there.”

Bastien nodded and took her hands. “Tria, I know most of the staff is furious she’ll be there. I should have taken her off the list for security reasons. I have the power to do that, but I just didn’t. I talked it over with Drake, and eventually we both agreed this would be easier. Not better, but easier.”

Rinda frowned. “My poor Tiger! Don’t feel bad—you made the right choice. At least you’ll be working so she can’t bother you, right?” She was trying to be optimistic—she also didn’t like the idea of Ms. Trakas trying to flirt with her Tiger, but she knew he didn’t like it either.

Bastien shook his head. “No, I’m supposed to be enjoying myself tonight. So I’m not security, but I’ll still be worrying about Liam and Riley, and I’ll probably have to deal with Vivian so the other teachers have a chance to enjoy part of the evening. Tria, I know we both want to keep everything as private as possible, and you’re still wearing your ring at school, but it’s too disrespectful to you if Vivian’s bothering me, especially if you’re not there. Can I please just let everyone know we’ve started seeing each other and let them know that we’re still figuring things out, and not to ask you questions?”

Rinda looked up at him in shock. “Yes. That’s fine.” She was quiet, but then nodded and gave him a confident smile. “Yes. I’d like that.”
