in light of ilia’s social media accounts he meant to keep private being displayed all over twitter by fans, i really want to know what makes some people treat their favorite athlete/celebrity/influencer/whathaveyou like they’re their bestie, close friend, confidante.

what makes them then think it is all right to ask him weird ass questions (in one instance they asked ilia, a minor, about his. fucking. body. count. - on instagram but that’s beside the point - like what is wrong with them) and post whatever answers he gave on twitter, basically doxxing his private snapchat account.

since then, ilia has requested (also via a fs fan) that they stop doing that immediately. that his snapchat is meant to be private. that only his instagram is meant to be public.

parasocial relationships truly have become the bane of our existence. while they can be fun, and healthy, they quickly can devolve into… this if the fan doesn’t have the emotional maturity to control their behavior.

Hello! First of all sorry for the inevitable typos, I'm on my phone and I have a bad cough so I tend to miss the keys.

Now, I think that no one could possibly skate a 5 quad program with same PCS quality as they would the same program with 3-4 quads. It has different layout that would demand a redistribution of energy throught the program and that directly affects the PCS. They need to generate more speed so there will most likely be more basic skating instead of complex steps, they will focus on the jumps more than the interpretation in the step sequence etc.

Therefore I think his PCS were fine as the judges scored him. But it's not bad, far from that. He is probably one of the least impacted skaters by a layout change like that. This might be a bit biased, because I was there in person high on the fact that I am seeing him live and clutching my Pooh (i still wonder where did that thing end up), but the difference between his PCS even when he was focused on the TES and some other men was visible. He was faster, and the skating was visibly cleaner even from up where I was sitting. I think what he did that day was the best of his ability to adapt an already complex program to an insanely difficult layout.

Kevin came the closest to him in terms of components honestly.

#figure skating #ice dance #to be precise #trying to understand skating skills by watching ice dance compulsory dances #so far my conclusion is that i still don’t understand ice dance #but have some sense of what might be more difficult to do #just by virtue of the fact that pretty much nobody was quite on beat for certain parts of the pattern #at least by my judgment of the beat #and my understanding #after watching 23 teams skate the exact same pattern #of what is meant to happening on that beat #or alternatively which beat the thing that’s happening is meant to be happening on #there was an….in-hold twizzle? that i swear the entire field minus maybe one team was just ever so slightly late ending #and then the 1-2 count…..leg out twirl was frequently as far as i could tell #started before the 1 count #unless it was meant to be starting on like the 8.5 count #and then it took me forever to figure out if the legs down after that was meant to be on the 3 count or 4 count #because until around the last group everyone was late on that one
