Shadow Play is such an insane episode of television because it really went ‘the most explicit Paily scene is going to be Spencer subconsciously fantasizing about Emily and her girlfriend having sex with a complex backstory/plot to back up every detail and then Alison is going to show up and seem jealous. Hanna is Spencer’s primary partner/support as she works on the mystery and voices her hatred/distrust of men. Mona refers to Hanna as a ‘blonde package’ being transferred from her to Spencer. Aria is the damsel who Spencer is saving in this fantasy. Ezra is the villain which is mostly just reality but all the same. Toby’s function is not really that of a romantic interest but instead a manifestation of Spencer’s negative self-talk and/or drive to solve the mystery depending on the part of the episode.’ but Spencer Hastings is absolutely a straight woman obviously

i'm rewatching pll and I'm on 7x15 and I do like emison but I'll NEVER forgive them for ruining paily, they were such a beautiful relationship and the chemistry between Lindsey/Shay was incredible!! emily chose to be with paige then found out alison was pregnant with her baby and changed her mind ugh everytime emily had a real choice she ALWAYS chose paige that was her love interest for majority of the series except s6!! I love alison and emison but them getting together so fast in S7 felt like fanservice to me especially since it all happened in a few episodes ugh I'll always ship paily they were my emily otp and always will be and I'm thankful they were together as long as they were and even together for awhile during those 5 years! I ship emison but I'll always be bitter over paily!!! and ACTUALLY it was paige who halted their new relationship not emily so the choice was made for her tbh she wanted things to work out with them!!

ps yes I know emily loved alison I know that but she still chose paige most of the time when she was around long enough!

Spencer: Ravenclaw, definitely a Ravenclaw. She has that intellect and drive that is commonly seen in Ravenclaws

Toby: Probably Slytherin. He's not evil, but he just seems to be very Slytherin-like, especially since he does have a darker past

Ezra: Probably also Ravenclaw, he's a teacher for Pete's sake and very intelligent (even if he does do the idiotic thing of entering a relationship with a student)

Aria: I would probably say Gryffindor, she's very brave.

Hanna: Hufflepuff. Hanna is nothing if not loyal, so I definitely think she would be a Hufflepuff with all her loyalty

Caleb: Probably also Hufflepuff

Emily: Gryffindor like Aria. She's brave, and swimming is no easy feat

Paige: Slytherin like Toby. Paige is very driven, not in a bad way but just very driven

I forgot what kind of a frustrating and emotional roller coaster 7x15 of PLL is (yes, still heartbroken about was happened to Paily, and Paige deserved so much better than she got), but it's still undeniably one of the best episodes of season 7, if not the best. Troian did wonderfully with her directing debut.
