What was the moment you started shipping ScarNash?

For me, I did not like the Duke pretty much from the beginning, so I wasn’t invested in that relationship. When they introduced Patrick, I really liked his chemistry with Eliza. By the end of Season 2, when he’s in the hospital and he thanks her for visiting him, I was really seeing the possibility. BUT the MOMENT for me is the following:

Hotel St Marc is a perfect episode, but the moment I said “this is my ship” was when Eliza and Patrick sit down to talk about the case. Eliza is offering the possibility that neither of them have the right fugitive or they both have the right person. They’re stuck. Patrick leans over and says “so what do you suggest?”

BOOM. Over for me. A man who respects and asks for your opinion while wearing a snazzy outfit with a cool cane? The tone in which he speaks?? Incredible, more please. Then of course it only gets better by the end of the episode, and episode 6 of season 3 has more moments and all of season 4…lol. But the “what do you suggest” is my ScarNash moment. What’s yours?!

Ya know, I'd love to have seen Eliza and Patrick's breakfast date in season 3 episode 3, because there are so many questions it raises. Plus, I'm perhaps too interested in the mundane, it just really showcases a character's personality.

I'd love for some of the many talented ao3 writers to write and share their own interpretations, because I'm nosy.

Now, onto the questions:

What do they eat? Where? How long do they stay? Do they order in English or French? Do they even speak French? How well?

Does this also mean they returned to London together? Perhaps on a train? (I just love trains)

Do they have vulnerable moments? Does Eliza fall asleep in Patrick's presence? (Preferably on Patrick's shoulder, though I really doubt it. I believe she mentions she's tired, and Patrick probably was too.) Are they mistaken for a married couple? Is this when they start the 'married couple' act they do in season 4? Whose idea is it to go along with the scheme?

Does William find out about their shenanigans? How does he react? Same two questions for Ivy.

I just have too many questions. xd

Felix Scott has been playing Nash as an interested rival to Duke from the very beginning and I just had to post a gif of this moment. The micro expressions on his face here are the pinnacle of brilliant acting. I zoomed in a bit because they wanted him in the background, so you'd really be looking in the wrong direction to focus on him in this scene... *lol I'm always looking in the wrong direction*

Anywho, I just had to share these thoughts with anyone out there who cares to listen.

something something patrick having no one he can trust, and eliza having no one who trusts her. eliza struggling with the people skills and smooth talking necessary to succeed in business that come naturally to patrick and patrick struggling with the honesty and moral compass that are necessary to run a good and ethical business that are innate to eliza. them tempering each other and inspiring each other to do better but also genuinely liking each other as they are, while most people find them both irritating. the way they seem like polar opposites and come at things from completely different angles when they in fact share the same ambitions, world views, and long term goals. the romantic arc is right there.

A random thing that I just really wanted to mention, which is, um, just how amazing it was to see Eliza and Patrick literally sitting together at the end of 4x4 celebrating and LAUGHING TOGETHER about her being the one to crack the case. Eliza looked so happy being there with patrick, which in turn made my shipper heart for them absolutely crumble 🥺😩 ( I've honestly not seen Eliza be that happy before.... 👀). She was so in the moment that she actually forgot that William wanted to speak to her, lol. Also, I definitely caught that quick camera turn back to patrick with him, looking disappointed that she was leaving.
