Star Trek: Discovery S02E14 “Such Sweet Sorrow (Part II)” • ‘The U.S.S. Discovery battles against Control in a fight not only for their lives but for the future, with a little help from some unexpected friends. Spock and Burnham discern vital new connections between the red signals while Burnham faces one of life’s harshest truths: the right decisions are often the hardest to make.’ • For my poster for part one of the S2 finale I depicted the crew that pledged to follow the Discovery into the future. For part two I wanted to highlight the characters that stayed behind and fought off Controll so that Discovery and her crew could succeed in their mission. • L’Rell was one of my favourites since the beginning of @startrekcbs, hopefully we haven’t heard the last of her (and @marythechief). @ansonmount’s Pike and @ethangpeck’s Spock were obviously standouts this season. Surely @shazadwill pop up in the proposed Section 31 show. But for now it seems like farewell to many of these supporting characters. And RIP Admiral Cornwell (@thejaynebrook). 😫 • This piece was pretty delayed after the finale aired because I was feeling super burnt out pumping out 2-3 pieces each week so I took a little break to recharge my batteries.🖖 • Follow me on Instagram: @pedg_illustrations

STAR TREK: PIC S01E02 “Maps and Legends” . The synths attack on Mars was first shown in the Short Trek ‘Children of Mars’ and the first two episodes of PIC have shown this to be a seminal moment for Picard, the Federation and the galaxy. . Romulans have always intrigued me and I’m glad we’re getting to see more of them and hopefully learn more about them as the series progresses. Star Trek: Discovery S02E13 “Such Sweet Sorrow” • ‘When the U.S.S. Discovery's crucial mission does not go according to plan, Burnham realizes what must ultimately be done. The crew prepares for the battle of a lifetime as Leland's Control ships get closer.’ • This week I wanted to focus on the brave souls who elected to take the ultimate leap of faith and join Michael and the USS Discovery on their one way trip to the future (although I think this line-up will ultimately see a few changes before the end of the finale!). Sacrificing everything for the good of the mission, boldly into the unknown... that’s pretty classic Trek. Thoughts for the finale: • Will the Discovery actually jump into the future? All signs point to ‘yes’ but until I see it on the screen, I’m not making any bets. • A Captain Pike spin-off? Well, they went to the trouble of building the Enterprise bridge from scratch, and Hugh is set to transfer to the Enterprise. Add into the mix the leaked photo of a beardless Ethan Peck as Spock in the Enterprise blue science uniform as a promo for the Star Trek cruise, this is looking more and more like a possibility, but would still be a stretch with all the other upcoming Trek projects. • Is Control the beginning of the Borg? I’ve never really subscribed to this theory, despite the similarities. This is looking less likely. • What about Georgiou? They’ve spent a lot of time developing this character and specifically her relationship with Michael. I can’t believe they’d go to all that trouble, just to split them up in different times. Plus it had been previously reported that Michelle Yeoh was returning for S3 of Discovery. Does that mean Georgiou accompanies the Discovery into the future? What does that mean for the proposed Section 31 show with Georgiou in the lead? Will S3 take place in multiple time settings?🖖 • Follow me on Instagram: @pedg_illustrations
