5. What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

“I like to pet animals and wander the mountains and hills,” He smiles, “Bunnies especially, I am magnet to them or maybe they smell the treats from miles away. Each morning before Ivar wakes up, I feed them outside the hut. Otherwise, hm… I like to read a lot! Whenever I am lucky to find a good romance novel in braille, I sink between the words for hours. And when I am not at home - scouting, I just like to sit back and relax to nature’s sounds and beauty.”

His face lights up, “And of course, I like to spend all my freetime with Ivar!”

12. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? (on vacation or permanently!)

“As a pathfinder, I have seen so many hidden corners of Tyria already, but there are many, many more places that I wish to discover. There are dozens of bakeries in Divinity’s Reach I haven’t visited yet! I just wait wherever my body takes me but if I could truly return back to any place, that would be to my home with Ivar, my bunnies, and pets.”

15. Do you play any instruments?  Which ones?  How long have you been playing?

“Many people are surprised to hear when I say flute and ocarina. They are light instruments that I can take with me anywhere! I started playing them around 4 years ago but I am far from a skilled player, hah.”

17. What makes you laugh?

With a sheepish smile he admits: “I tend to laugh very easily, many things amuse me or make me smile. From watching cute animals fight over food or someone telling a joke - I always appreciate the joy in life.”

“My pet rock Gabbro.” Percy points at the very much sentient hand sized rock on his table. The two googly eyes jiggle when it wiggles. “It has been with me for several years now and saved me too from many confrontations with the local, hostile wildlife during my expeditions.”

3. What is your favorite childhood memory?

“I have not formed ‘childhood memories’ if you go by the term of other races' ages ranging between birth and puberty. If you are interested in my earliest memories, I must tell you that I am very much fond of the first time I held a book in my hand. Arguably, I accidentally set it on fire but the reaction of a primal element eating chemically altered wood, short living as it was, was quite fascinating.”

bling: What jewelry does your OC wear? Does it have any meaning?

Percy does not wear jewelry, mostly because it is a hazard in the lab and doesn’t offer him much practical use! The only thing close to jewelry is the useless monocle he wears… Useless because he wears it on his blind/glass eye (he has perfectly good sight and does not need any vision correction ASKFGH). He wears it solely to look more imposing. Most scholars have vision eyewear of some sorts… (He just never asked *why*)

hair: How does your OC wear their hair? Does it have some kind of meaning?

He keeps his hair in a semi root bun and his bark hair mostly out of his face. It grows at a very slow rate but he never needed to cut it! And as long as it doesn’t get into his way, he ignores it. (Also, there is no particular style he follows, that’s not important to him either)

makeup: Does your OC wear makeup? How often? What kind? Why do they wear makeup, and do they like it?

Percy: "Make up? Isn’t that what clowns wear?"

No, he is not even remotely interested in that.

favorite: Does your OC have a favorite article of clothing or accessory? What is it? What's the meaning behind it? Do they wear it all the time or do they wear it sparingly to keep it safe?

His scholarly outfit is *important* to him. To distinguish the professor from the students, to elevate his appearance and look more intellectual and most importantly: proper.

Though his clothes have to have these essential features: Be either in silver or (dark) blue hues, and be fire resistant. That’s why he keeps several articles of the same outfit.

change: Has your OC ever drastically changed their appearance? Significant haircuts, big tattoos, complete wardrobe swap, etc? Why? How do they feel about the change?

I have not thought much about it, but pre-kidnapping Inquest incident Percy looked less … burned. Maybe he even had actual leaves growing from his head instead of ashen bark. Less burn scars. Actually smiling instead of looking grumpy all the time.

But things happen and he is not one to mourn the loss of his former appearance when he lost more than that (his small group of students). 

alternate: What would your OC's alternate universe look be? If they're a fantasy character, what's their modern look? If they're sci-fi, what's their fantasy look? What AU would you want to see your OC in, and how would they dress themself? Bonus: Prompt an AU!

Ironically, Percy’s look (and namesake) is very much based on critical role’s Percival de Rolo, so he looked like him in human form but more scholarly than gunslinger vibes.

8. What do you like to do for fun? "Fun? For 'fun' I research the very core and expansion of all theories regarding arcane, thermodynamic, physicochemical, molecular alchemy! It is my life, my work which I pour into all my essence and time! It is not mere 'fun' or 'silly games', it is a dedication to achieve greater knowledge and the pursuit of answers hidden in the wider sea of understanding. An understanding of your brain is too incapable to even grasp! Such multifaceted discipline of philosophical science demands more than perfection, it requires, demands sophisticated methods and years of learning and calculations. For comprehension's sake, alchemy is fuse the corporeal and spiritual facets of reality, regarding them as two complementary halves of a whole." He continues to rant for 20 minutes before returning to his work.

9. What’s your greatest achievement? Why do you consider this your greatest achievement?

“Have you not listened to a single word I just said?! Alchemy, the science of manipulation of matter and transmutation of material forms and aether. I am a being capable of understanding and comprehending the alchemy of this universe. My existence to weave all theories together and prove them, that is already my greatest achievement!” He continues to speak for 40 minutes before he even blinks.

10. What’s your biggest goal? How do you hope to achieve this?

“You are mocking me with your incapacity of aural perception.“

11. What does your dream room/house look like? Would you mind showing some inspiration pictures?

“A rich laboratory filled to the brim with all the gears and materials I need. As a scientist, I always need to have at least 4 reagent bottles, 3 alembics, 5 retorts …” Percy lists an impossible amount of alchemical tools from his head, “in my working vicinity. If a single item is displaced by a few inches, it will be far from my perfected working conditions.”

“Being still alive and breathing. This cannot be said for most of us.”

“What is a Wyld Hunt if not for a meek mockery of fate. I defy that and search for my own goals. There lies mysteries in the world that are still hidden for decades, it is only a matter of time until I grasp them with my own hands. All it requires is patience and ressources.”

“My dream house? I already am in the possession of an apartment tailored to my and my pets comfort. I would not exchange that for a meek vision of a dream.”

A lot of my OCs have various items that they either hide, keep to themselves or are too important to them to ever lose.

Ysaac - He wears a dark purple earring that allows him to focus and channel the Mist properly in a way. Though its value is rather vague to him in his canon (i just like to draw him with fancy earrings ehhe), in other AUs I have, the earring is a special gift from his deceased brother Andryr to him that allows him to temporarily channel sight (Ysaac is blind)!

Despite the hundreds of years that have passed, Yvalris still kept her elegant hairpin, which would by now be an ancient antiquary. She brought it with her first real money and it has come very useful many times, such as stabbing, poisoning people and deceiving people with her look heh.

Yue Qingfeng treasures her sword a lot. From her childhood on, she trained with a training sword but when she entered adulthood, the martial sect gifted her the blade. Blade sharp and yet graceful, it is her weapon, a reflection of her strength and extension of honed skills. Also she can fly on it.

Khayyir has small trinkets of his children. Yes, that fish is a father. But he does not remember his family since he has lost a good chunk of his memory. He keeps them in a box to safekeep until they spark moments of recalling his past… one day…

Percy will not admit it but he keeps the bottle of perfume his sister Alstroemeria made for him. They have been on bad terms for a long time but she is still his sister and he does not wish her ill. He doesn’t wear the fragrance though.

“My free time is dedicated to my work and research if not for the seeking of knowledge! During my off work hours I spend all of it either trying to consume books, or even travel past the Priory’s walls to expand my current collection of materials and elements found in nature. I do enjoy testing new variants of coffee.” He nods to his cup of coffee next to him on the table. Its pure black color suggests a caffeine percentage lethal to most humanoids.

13. You’re given an unlimited budget to build anything you want!  What do you build and where do you build it?

“Anything with my own budget outside the feeble limitations of the Priory?” His blue eyes sparkle with intense interest. “All the fulfilling things I can imagine, rows of alembic that could tenfold multiply my research, a storage endlessly filled with material always in my reach, and no one to stop me from stealing all the pencils and paper! An alchemy laboratory of my dreams and a hall big enough for my students!”

20. Describe your biggest pet peeve.

He huffs angrily, the act of thinking sets him into an displeased state. “The very limitation the Priory sets and acts upon me! How do you think I can properly conduct my research if they forbid me from consuming their resources accordingly?! Ban me from their archive, cut my budget and hours and expect me to teach my students their pre-rendered, utterly useless teaching plans! I am a professor by Alchemy’s sake, not a golem to dictate dull definitions and calculations with no meanings. Learning should be fun!”

Percy is the man far from mundane. He is allergic to being mundane. My man percy is the born opposite, the fated enemy of being mundane. So eccentric and over the top hyperfixated in science/alchemy, his entire life since he woke up revolved around the sheer intricacy of studying things of his interest. Never in the world could he be satisfied with the simple things in the world. Nor acting 'normal' (he eats books and alchemical ingredients)

🍎 [RED APPLE] Who does your OC value above all else?

Himself and his intellect. Percy can be egoistical in worst cases. He doesn't value people of importance, neither important politicians or leaders nor the Pale Mother herself. Beside himself, he values his students with a lot of pride (though not as much above himself LOL)

 🍑 [PEACH] How do they show their kindness? How kind are they truly?

Percy can be a kind man. Not nice, but kind and forgiving for a few people on Tyria he holds dear, which include his students in the Priory that he personally teaches and his twin sister Alstroemeria. Though it is a side that was burned out of him due tragic backstory™ and buried deep in his personality, he very rarely shows in words but through acts and prideful smiles. After all the pain and loss the gone through, he is still a kind, proud teacher who loves to share knowledge with the world.

Percy has just been wandering and teaching and eating books daily, but so far hes just aimless for now since 1) brain does hyperfocus roulette on certain OCs at a time 2) no inspiration for him for the future - maaaybe if i bounce him around a bit more, bring him out for rp or such, I can produce more content for him!!
