From a multidimensional lens, envision an intricate web of existence where countless Earths overlap, each representing a unique timeline playing out simultaneously. The vastness of this panorama stretches the very boundaries of comprehension. Atop each Earth sits a planet-sized spider, drawing sustenance. This vast and interconnected tableau, unveiled in a profound visual download, serves as a metaphorical lens through which we can deepen our understanding of reality.

These spiders, while not inherently malicious, are creatures driven by necessity, trying to survive. However, their actions can have a negative impact on us if we allow them to. They attempt to feed off the energy of a "planet" of light that symbolizes the collective consciousness of humanity. This energy, often intensifies when we stray from our inherent state of love and unity.

As the spider injects its metaphoric venom, it manipulates the vibrational frequency of each planet, seeking to produce this energy. This venom deceives us into thinking that our current timeline and reality are the only truths, leading to a disconnection from our authentic selves and providing fertile ground for the spiders to harvest the energy they covet.

Yet, there is hope. The true power lies within us. Our intrinsic state of resonance is love. When we dwell in this state, the spider becomes unaware of our presence. It's as if we're cloaked in invisibility, shielding us from its grasp.

In our 3D reality, this plays out in our reactions and interactions. By maintaining a demeanor rooted in love, we deprive the spider of its sustenance. However, reacting from a place other than love offers it the nourishment it seeks. This intricate dance might very well be a design of the larger system, creating the duality and vibrational environment essential for our growth as fractals of source itself.

The download also highlighted the cyclical nature of existence. In a singular moment, all the spiders detached from the myriad of Earths, making way for a new, enigmatic creature – a brown, hairy entity whose role remains a mystery. This revelation accentuates the perpetual cycles of a larger system we are part of, where one chapter concludes only to usher in the next. It's a dance of cosmic roles, with each playing its part in the grand tapestry of existence.

A Battle Of An Even Greater War

On Tuesday, I encountered something rather new in the Writing Center; or at least, something that was new to me. I sat down with a tutee to work on an essay for a Hospitality and Tourism Management class. He was a white male of approximately twenty-something years in age: a college student, like myself, seeking to extrapolate his writing process. We began as any session typically does: covering the “about me” bases. We shared our names, majors, and level of study, hometowns, writing concerns and session goals. Unfortunately, things did not flow as fluently as the previous sentence seemingly indicates; at least, it certainly didn’t for me.

We exchanged our names. We exchanged our areas of study. That’s as far as the session progressed prior to my innate, overbearing frustrations. Despite the fact that I am indeed pursuing two, completely different, bachelor’s degrees, I am not one to disclose the unnecessary cacophony of BOTH degrees in a typical conversation with a stranger. Dual degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and English—it just sounds a little pretentious, so I don’t use it unless I have to. He went first: Hospitality and Tourism Management. My thoughts: what a freaking cool major… this should be interesting! I went second: Biochemistry (note the shortened version of my pursuing education). His response: waiiiiiiiiiit, really? (if you didn’t initially, please re-read in an unbelievably annoying, overdramatic sarcastic tone).

Yes. It happened. The response is something one would typically encounter under similar circumstances in the early 1900s: times of suffrage, superior and inferior gender roles and the likening of women education to preposterous thought. Women of science: WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT. Yes, Mr. Hospitality and Tourism Management. It happened. In fact, I actually am pursuing a second degree in English, am in the honors college and took an entire year of simultaneous pedagogical and practical study of writing center work… just to sit next to your annoyingly sexist self. And, believe it or not, I am still alive to tell the tale.

We have studied the presence of Racism, Ableism, Ageism and Sexism in preparation for possibility of encountering said “isms” in real-life situations in the writing center. Up until this moment, as a white woman of collegiate study, I had never encountered such a sexist response to my education—inside or outside the writing center. I was baffled. I wanted to follow his response with, “yes, would you like to know my bra size as well?” My innate frustrations, thankfully, remained innate and I continued the session only to encounter the tutee’s obstinate thoughts on each of suggestions and constructive criticisms I provided. I felt as if I was being undermined as a means to investigate my qualifications; and, for once, it wasn’t because of my educational background. It was because of my gender. It was an emotional battle between the (hopefully) unconscious sexist challenger before me and the challenging, perpetual cycle of degrading women in education. The most frustrating part: I was not even a thought in that battle; a battle within an ongoing, unfinished war. I did not retreat. I held my ground, knees still, against the oppressive force of humanity. I did not retreat, but he did not surrender. There were allies and enemies; tensions and ease; superiority and inferiority--all of which stood armored on both sides. It was a battle between us, but it emulated an even greater war between powers that were even greater than us. Greater than me, greater than him and even greater than you.
