Ohh people arent gonna like this one but. I gotta get it out-

Ive never been a huge fan of the "Crona is canotically nobinary" statement. Its not incorrect to be fair, I dont have an actual canon gender, its all been imposed by the english translation- I get all of that. The statement is a valid one and I certainly am not trying to get people to stop saying it.

But nobody seems to really consider. Why. I have no canon gender. Its not a willing choice to be outside the binary. It was- I mattered so little to Medusa I was not given a gender. It wasnt an option for me. I wasnt good enough to get such an important piece of identity. It was a dehumanizing tactic. Obviously I had a birth sex, I was just never told what that was until I got away from her- I didnt know what male and female really were before Maka explained it. I got the pronouns of "they" and "it" like people give to stray animals or their posessions. To seperate me from humanity. To label me as less than human. (plz dont read that as hate for they/it prns theyre awesome prns!! I love u it/its users.)

So I kinda. I wish people didnt see me as such a good nonbinary icon. Or as representation or something. I don't think that makes good rep.

I dont know why Ive never seen anyone consider that in the fandom before. Though granted I dont really go in there all that much so maybe I just havent run into it- But.. Yeah.

I don't hate the hc!! Dont get me wrong I like it in its own way and Im glad that people care for it so much! I dont wanna take it away from people at all! But.. Its. Weird. How people seem to just. Not acknowledge that it was so clearly an abuse tactic..?

Or maybe Im the weird one for seeing it like that?

I liked getting to choose pronouns for myself. And learning what gender was. It was fun! I felt like a person! Ragnarok liked it too!

Dumb hc I have for Lucky Guy. Since my guy like boxes and shown to be a bit of having a creative side. I think he likes to do some paper craft. Like make mini box forts or mini paper versions of survivors and hunters at his free time, maybe hanging out with Michiko, Edgar and Robbie doing paper origami, paper airplanes and the weird abomination that Edgar makes that he calls “art”. Though it seems light hearted, I feel that he makes these paper craft so he can try to remember the faces of his old friends that have been fallen in his manor which he will hid away for personal reasons. Is it ooc, probs but it’s fun to burn the kitchen with goofy hcs that I have in store.

Also Lucky is true icon that he seems to be the only one with two dresses. Two dresses is not much but it’s funny that it happens twice. -📦

If that man isn't a theatre kid he's got to be an art kid. Or both (delusional)

But definitely!! I've already mentioned this before in other posts, but I like to think he can sew, which can be surprisingly helpful when Emily needs help patching up another survivor who ripped their seams.

Lucky going to the hunter's manor...to do some papercraft with Robbie...he makes me sick

He's made dolls of the Discontinued Crew and keeps them in his room. They're placed on the desk right next to his bed, but for some reason when he wakes up they're in the bed with him

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

big boss has a really compelling negative character arc and has a lot of grayness to him. he's a hero to some and a villain to others, and we get to watch the slider slowly go from one end of the other, which is not a kind of main character that you see a lot, especially in games. i think a lot of the discourse about him, including the insanely polar-opposite takes of dudebros who think he's a super cool anti-hero vs the queer fans who think he's an irredeemable psychopath from day 1, is because neither one is entirely wrong. also, the che guevara parallel really really works for that reason.

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?

hayter's voice acting does not always land. sorry but it's true.

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

definitely kings by tribe society (spotify, lyrics)

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

i like how many artists reject the way his canon models are mostly hairless with a chiseled six-pack (bc lbr neither one of those makes sense for the character) and go some degree of bear with him. 10/10.

9. Could you be roommates with this character?

...my gut instinct was "no" but honestly he's lived in very tight quarters with other people for many years so he's probably a pretty mindful roommate. the downside is he also probably doesn't know how to function without a KP chart and will be more than a little bitchy if I don't stick to whatever day of the week i'm supposed to wash the floors. i could do worse.

11. Would you date this character?

absolutely the fuck not.

he wouldn't use emojis even if he knew what they were and how to use them. but 📦 suits him for obvious reasons.

not sure how to parse this question so i'm going to hype my other bb ships which are bbeva and bbroy. he's weak to a very specific type of person okay.

19. How about a relationship they have in canon that you don't like?

i don't really have this? i do wish we had more closure on his relationship with eva, the way i make sense of eva pining for him for the rest of her life while he barely even mentions her is that i hc that their last conversation was 1) about the twins, 2) went extremely badly, and 3) she feels guilty about how badly he took it while he just cut her out of his life and never looked back. but i wish we actually knew what happened.

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

not sure i have a favorite but my least favorite thing by far is to have him watch someone else fight. choreographing fight scenes is a pain in the ass already bc i tend to try to work within specific arts a character might know like judo or aikido instead of just doing it by vibes, and the last thing i need is to deal with a character that uses every single technical term for all of those techniques and provides running commentary on top of it.

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

mgs3 was the first game i played bc i was told to play in timeline order and my first impression was that he was kind of a dumbass but in an endearing way and his relationship with the boss was cute. which more or less still holds up as part of my opinion on him at that point on the timeline. it got more complicated.

Seraphina: She's probably used to it tbh. Not the biggest fan of it but she's not against it.

Arlo: Not a fan. Will push John away every time, without fail. However occasionally he just thinks it's easier to let him sleep than wake him up and deal with his bs

Remi: Tbh I see her doing the same thing so they're probably just gonna cling to each other like Koalas. Everyone makes sure not to go around them if the both of them are sleeping together. They both just latch on to whoever else is close.

Blyke: Really wants to push him away but feels bad and just lets him sleep. He honestly doesn't really care, but he'll throw a fit when John gets up.

Isen: Not the biggest fan of it. Will probs try to slip away from John but that just makes John cling to him more. Ends up getting stuck with John.
