SO OKAY HERE'S THE THING I was talking about this in the Skyside server one day because I assigned David the Hades Cabin while working on the cabin matches. I don't have much written for this right now, but the general premise is (hold on a sec I'm gonna copy/paste rq)

"using that one version of the myth where Persephone wants to leave, and Hades was actually in love with her and did not kidnap her (in Persephone's eyes). David who fell in love with Angel but didn't want to say anything because he didn't want to scare them off. Angel who eventually was alone with him and was talking about how they didn't want to be home anymore. David offers for them to stay with him instead, Angel agrees, havoc being wreaked."

I need to brush up on my Hades/Persephone myth, because I'm a Classics student and I'm obsessed with making sure I get the characterizations/plot down without defaulting to the typical characterizations (their characterizations will change once I replace them with David/Angel anyway, but still), as well as seeing what version I want to focus on adapting. There is such nuance that can be found in those myths and I really wanna be able to pick up on one and work that into this fic.

Anyway yeah ^^ I'm super excited for this actually (again, classics and drama double major, adaptations of myths is my thing) and I hope that if I do it I want to make sure that I do it justice and that people enjoy it :)

hehehe my two favourite wips (lying they're all my favourite)

OKAY SO Seraph Liege is a wip of mine for NeXus and the general concept is the idea that Liege is trying their hardest to reach their "final form" (A seraph, but like, severely fucked up cause they are NOT supposed to do that). They do this through the help of the Priest that they came across in their first audio. I will give a small snippet but I am unsure if this is ever gonna go anywhere outside of this. (CW: manipulation, I think, just to be safe)

“Get up, Darling. It’s time to go.” “Who are you?” Liege paused, turning back to look at the priest. The poor thing was huddled against the wall, nearly cowering from them. The priest was terrified. “Whatever do you mean?” “Do I know you?” Liege made their way back, stepping over their latest victim to do so, slowly and deliberately as if to not scare off a stray animal. They crouched when they were close enough, face soft. “Of course, you know me, Darling. You know me very well.” “I…” Liege frowned at the response, or better lack thereof. Good pets didn’t have thoughts that didn’t revolve around their master. And they certainly don’t think about themselves, especially in the presence of said master. They flooded Darling’s mind as Liege sat there with good memories—only some of them being fabricated this time. Ones where they were there for Darling, ones where Darling worshiped them, memories where Darling felt amazing, being praised for doing what Liege wanted. Anything to get back on track.  They didn’t have time for this, but you can only expect so much from a pet. Liege will have to stop training Darling until they get the desired results. “Do you remember now?” Liege asked, lips still turned down at the corners. “I wouldn’t want to overwhelm you after that blow to your head.” Darling shivered as Liege’s hand came up to caress the back of his head.  “Yes, my Liege.” “Good. Now, get up, pet. You’ve wasted my time.”

and and the 1920's fic my beloved. This was something that was inspired by the amazing @dizzy-n-busy who made this amazing art of Milo

here's the jist-- Criminal Milo met Investigator Sweetheart at a bar, they hit it off, Milo finds out that Sweetheart is an investigator. There's a bit of drama. Sweetheart shows up with the shade case. They get closer again. Sweetheart gets hurt. Milo runs into the shade, gets into a fight, kills it, gets in trouble with the law, and has to be interrogated. Sweetheart gets in there, helps Milo get out of there, and they meet at the end and decide to go on an official date. This fic is actually ongoing currently (Biting the Hand that Feeds on AO3) but here's a snippet from chapter 1 because I like it ^^

“Your friends are here,” Sneaks said, almost sounding disappointed. Or, maybe that was just Milo being hopeful. “I’ll go. I’m sure you want to be alone with them.” They moved to get up, but Milo’s hand shot out to stop them. He didn’t think about it until he felt the warmth of their wrist against his palm. Sweetheart also seemed to freeze at the contact, staring at their hands. “I want you to stay,” Milo said finally, letting go. Sneaks’ eyes shot up to his for a moment, capturing his attention immediately. “I wouldn’t want to intrude,” they said softly, almost hesitant to accept the invitation. “I insist,” Milo said. Sneaks was still looking at him, analyzing him. He felt like he was an open book to them, and he had no problem with that. If it meant that they looked at him like that then he is more than fine with it. “Okay,” they said quietly. “I’ll stay.” “Thank you.”

oooo this is a fun one. This idea was given to me by @mr-laveau one night, and I ran with the idea. If you couldn't tell, it is based on the song Copacabana by Barry Manilow, and I'm basically writing a song fic.

In this fic, the Shaw pack owns a bar, and Sweetheart is a dancer as a disguise because they are running from their old boss. Milo often works the bar (his charm brings in a lot of sales). If you know this song, you know what happens. I can give you a small snippet of it (I haven't worked on this as much as I would like to)

“Yeah, well, David thinks this is a great idea,” Sweetheart teased, arms wrapping around Milo’s waist. “I never said it wasn’t,” Milo said, smiling, “getting to watch you up on that stage while I’m behind the bar? It’s going to be like a dream come true.” Sweetheart rolled their eyes, but the adoration behind them was still there when they returned to Milo. “We’ll see what David thinks of you slacking while I’m up there.” “Speaking of David,” Milo said, pulling back just a bit, “were you able to talk to him? About-” “It’s all settled,” Sweetheart cut him off, waving away the concern. “He knows the risks, and he’s willing to take them. He said that he takes care of his dancers, and I’m no exception.” Milo nodded, relief flooding through him for a moment. He knew David wouldn’t refuse to help, but they both knew what Sweetheart was trying to escape. However, they didn’t have to worry about that. “Good. You’re going to do great tonight, Sweetheart.” Sweetheart grinned, “Of course I am.”

I think I'm gonna tag @maxpaulll because you hate tag games and I think it's funny, and also @dizzy-n-busy even though I know you don't have a lot on ao3 at the moment (I just like telling people you also write fics on top of doing cool artwork/lh), also anyone else who wants to do this can! (do it. you don't need my permission. this is a threat. /lh)

1 - How many works do you have on AO3?

2 - What's your total AO3 word count?

168,758. Again, have no social life.

Currently, I write for Redacted Audio and NeXus. We don't talk about my past fandoms /j

4 - What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Welp. Let's get into this.

#1 is Natural Enemies an unfinished spider!deku x Rody Soul multi-chap fic.

#2 is Dances in the Morning a Matchablossom (Kojiro Nanjo (Joe) x Cherry Blossom (Kaoru Sakurayashiki) one shot.

#3 is Infinity another Matchablossom one shot.

#4 is Paranoia an emotional hurt/comfort Denki & Sero one shot.

5 - Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I do! I love getting comments and I usually respond as soon as I get the email (because if I don't, I will forget they are there-)

6 - What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Uhhhh one sec I have to remind myself of what I wrote. OKAY SO I think the closest contender (I don't write angsty fics) would be The Mission a Kaminari/Shinsou fic. Or possibly even Oh, Captain, Let's Make a Deal which was something i wrote for a fandom event. The only other thing I can think of is an Imp!Milo fic where he loses Sweetheart and basically becomes the same shell that Asher is, but that one is unpublished. I don't really write angst-ending fics, I'm more start with angst and end happily. OH BUT WAS I WRONG (i was looking for examples for another question) I forgot about Space Between an Imp!Freelancer/Vindemiator fic. Oh my god, it’s not my best but fuck does it hurt.

7 -What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Oooo okay so top contenders are Four Years, Not Forever a Sero/Todoroki fic, or once again Dances in the Morning or Infinity. Those last two are in my top five for a reason.

8 - Do you get hate on fics?

I. Don't think so. If I did I don't remember. I think there was one whole comment where someone fucking pulled out one word of the fic and said "it ruined the fic" for them and "they had a hard time continuing" which i won't even get into cause it was like a one-time thing. It was a rediculous comment in context anyway.

9 - Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I don't, I want to, unsure if I'll ever post it though.

10 - Do you write crossovers?

No? I definitely don't now but I think I've gotten close in the past.

11 - Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don't think so.

12 - Have you ever had a fic translated?

There was one offer, but I don't think it ever went anywhere.

13 - Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Technically yes, but it fell through. Would consider co-writing with someone though, depending on who they were/what the fic was.

14 - What's your all time favorite ship?

As of right now Milo/Sweetheart, but I go through favourite ships faster than I go through fandoms so I never have a real answer for this question.

15 - What's a WIP that you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Oh god, probably Eddie... The Love of My Life, or my All I Want series, just because I'm not in those fandoms anymore. I also have plenty of fics in my fic graveyard of a gdocs.

16 - What are your writing strengths?

I'd say my strengths are dialogue/describing non-sexual intimacy. Maybe my world-building? technically? uhhh that's all I can think of actually.

17 - What are your writing weaknesses?

Longer fics/keeping up with multi chaps (again, Eddie... The Love of My Life and Like Real People Do my beloveds I'm so sorry), MY FUCKING COMMAS if you read ANY of my fics I bet you there's way to many commas in it I have a problem, ummm I'd say any descriptive violence, I really wanna work on that. That's all that's coming to mind but I bet there's more.

18 - Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I am not against it, but I have not tried it (that I can remember). I wouldn't mind though I just would be VERY meticulous about how it's written.

19 - First fandom you wrote for?

Off the record? Harry Potter or Percy Jackson (shivers in wattpad days) but if we're looking at my AO3 it would be BNHA with I'm Here (yet another unfinished multi-chap)

20 - Favorite fic you've written?

Oh god, I don't even know. All my fics are my babies. If I had to pick from my published ones I would probably go with Promise Me, Please (I Promise) which is an Imp!Milo/Sweetheart fic of mine that I wrote a year ago. But I am currently working on one that might surpass that, but only time can tell.

ANYWAY I'm supposed to be working on finals but this was fun! I have way too much free time on my hands at all times, and it shows in my writing. I'm gonna go hide in a hole now.

1. Do you have a word-count goal for the upcoming year?

Absolutley not /lh. If i start giving myself goals I will see it as a challenge and try to beat it. It's happened with my Goodreads goals every year. Plus, I find if I set a goal like that I am less likely to write fics which is like super weird but it's just a thing with me. I'm too competition-prone.

7. Will you change anything about the way you interact with other writers?

I'm hoping to make some more writer friends!! There's so many talented people that I would love to get to know better. I usually feel like I can't because I'm new(-er, only been in the redacted fandom for a little over a year.) I just need to get over my social anxiety. I am also hoping to leave more comments on the fics I read, as I know how much joy it brings me to see comments roll in ^^

Hello! My name is Pluto (They/Them) and I'm a writer/creator for different fandoms. These fandoms are constantly changing and often there is more than one, but as of right now you’ll see a lot of RP Audio content (Redacted Audio, Castle Audios, NeXus, Noderum Records, as a few examples), Good Omens, and the occasional Supernatural and Percy Jackson universe posts. Right now I’m writing a lot of Redacted Audio fanfics/headcanons/oneshots as well as sharing a bit of original content for the world that i’m currently developing! I’m hoping my fanfics branch out a bit but I make no promises because I’m comfortable writing RA (Milo/Sweetheart fics, specifically) things and once I’m comfortable it can be years before I write another fandom/paring.

7. Will you change anything about the way you interact with other writers?

Definitely gonna try leaving more comments for the fics I do read!! I am not as good at it as I want to be and it's a whole thing. I also want to read more fics this year, as I feel like I've been missing out the last little bit because I haven't. I also just wanna make more writer friends in general, because I know some pretty talented people on this site and it'd be cool to get to know them!

15. Do you foresee any personal or professional obstacles this year, that would keep you from creating fanworks? 

Basically, the same obstacles I faced last year. I am a third year uni student taking six courses this upcoming semester, who also has a part-time job, and also does an internship. In the summer between school years, I will likely have a theater-based job (or, hopefully, I will, fingers crossed) so hours are going to be hectic and I might not have the energy to write :( but imma try my best to write anyway because I really do love posting fanworks and even indulging in other fan projects ^^

Honestly have not thought about this, but I might start to this year. Maybe I can keep a Google sheet with the different years I write fics. But other than what's in my tags and on my AO3 there might not be anything like super official

23. Would you like to go on a writing retreat?

Dude I would love to go on a retreat period. But also a writing retreat does sound very fun. I'm not the biggest traveller but I do find if I am on a break from my usual busy schedule I can write a lot more and have fun with it, so its definitely something i'd love to do.

20. Does anyone read your fics before you post them? If so, who?

It depends on the fic honestly. Some of my friends will get snippets as I work for motivation. However, specifically with Like Real People Do, my best friend Max (@maxpaulll) betas it (he is also the one who will likely get full fics before I post them if i am super nervous about them)

30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?

There were a few fics that I was nervous to write, mostly the ones where I write my ace identity into Sweetheart (a few examples of posted works are Let Me (I Will) and this tumblr post). I don't mean to mention a fic twice but I was also a lil out of my comfort zone starting to write Like Real People Do as well, mainly because of the type of relationship that Quinn and Darlin' have in the fic.

34. What aspects of your writing are inspired by/taken from your real life?

If any of my fics mention anything about the struggles of being Non-Binary/demi-sexual it is purely a fic that is based off of me. I will also usually write out romantic scenarios I wish to see myself in one day into my fics a lot as well.

35. What aspects of your writing are completely unlike your real life?

I can't think of anything specific but I'm a uni kid, so a lot of my fics are about a time in my life I haven't gotten to yet. Unironically this also includes the romantic relationships I write, as my last irl relationship was when I was in grade 9 (I'm a week away from 20 y/o)

36. Do you visualize what you read/write?

Visualize is a weird word to use, but yes. Often times I am acting out what I am writing specifically. I can't see full pictures in my head but I am able to describe the thing and understand how to translate that into my writing.

This year alone I’d have to say Milo/Sweetheart (Redacted), Liege (NeXus), the whole vamp camp + Cher (also NeXus), and a few I haven’t written fics for would be Eritus, Nova, and Romeo (Noderum Records) (and no, i’m not just saying that because PK is the one asking) (this list also doesn’t include my own ocs, but i feel like that’s cheating?)

22. Share an excerpt from your favorite scene

Okay so I’m gonna cheat a little bit BUT imma give y’all one copy pasted scene and then a few links to shorter tumblr posts that I adore

next contender is EASILY this hand kiss one shot with Milo/Sweetheart I’m talking like top five minimum

OKAY ACTUAL LIKE. TOP THREE SCENE CAUSE IM SO INDECISIVE:

This scene come from an unfinished fic (i have a feeling PK is gonna yell at me for this one) about Imp!Milo losing Sweetheart and becoming the same shell that Asher is. It genuinely is a fic I want to finish but never get around too.

Milo couldn't calm down as he and Asher were waiting for Sweetheart's call. He sat in the truck, leg bouncing mindlessly as he stared at the walkie between them. It’s been a while since their last check-in, and it was obvious that it was grating on Milo’s nerves.

“This is the longest part,” Asher reminded him.

“I know that!” Milo spat back. “Just because it is the longest part does not mean I can’t worry about them.”

“They’ve got this,” Asher tried to reassure him, but he was still in that fucking monotone. Milo wanted to strangle him.

“I know what they’re capable of,” Milo said through his teeth. “They are my mate, after all.”

“Then you should trust them.”

Milo crossed his arms, hands squeezing into fists. He had to look away from Asher, out the window, before he did something dumb. He took a few deep breaths before he responded. Asher doesn’t realize what he’s saying, he can’t. If he did, he wouldn’t have said it. However, Milo could not let this one slide.

“You saying I don’t trust them?”

“I’m not saying you don’t. Just that, at this moment, worrying is not going to help you,” Asher said.

“Oh, yeah, let me just stop worrying over my mate real quick, that is just a switch I can flip,” Milo seethed.

Asher sighed. Sighed. As if Milo’s feelings were a burden to witness. Milo started seeing red. “It’s not going to help you when it’s our turn to go in-”

“What the hell is up with you and interrogating me right now!?” Milo demanded. “Was anyone this much on your ass when David went after Tank?”

That shut Asher up. His jaw clenched and unclenched a few times, eyes straight ahead. But again, there was that indifference. “We don’t talk about him,” he said finally, voice low, a warning.

“Just because you have a death wish does not mean you get to pull others down with you,” Milo said quietly.

“I don’t have a death wish,” Asher growled.

“Well you’re doing a terrible job of convincing others of it,” Milo said. He shook his head, pushing the door open with more force than necessary, stepping out. “I need some air. Call me when they radio in.”

“Milo,” Asher started, but Milo wasn’t having it.

“You want me to stop worrying?” Milo asked, unkindly. He spread his arms, a challenge. “Guess what I’m doing? Not worrying.”

He slammed the car door shut.

The leaves crunched under his feet as he stalked away from the car. He could feel the heat coursing through his body. He was always upset at Asher for how he acted after David’s death, but this was new. He guessed it was just the extra stress of having Sweetheart out there practically defenceless. He should have never let them go on this mission. They shouldn’t even be here! What were they thinking? Any of them?

There was the sound of a door opening, and then Asher was calling after him. It didn’t take him long to catch up, grabbing his shoulder and spinning him back around. “What has gotten into you?” He demanded.

“Gotten into me?” Milo questioned, incredulous. “What has gotten into you?” He shot back, pushing against Asher. “Ever since we lost David and Tank, ever since you lost David, you’ve been miserable! You’re taking it out on the pack too, pushing us to breaking over and over! You’re miserable and because of it, we are too!”

“How come you haven’t mentioned this before, if I make you so miserable?!” Asher demanded.

“I have!” Milo yelled, stepping toward Asher so they were just inches apart. “I have, but you won’t listen! You always shut down every time I try and talk to you about it! I’ve tried to help, cause, fucking hell, you weren’t the only one who lost him! I miss him too!”

“You don’t know what it’s like to lose your mate,” Asher grits through his teeth.

29. If this were an awards show, who would you thank?

I’m gonna take this so seriously hold on a sec I have so much to share. Okay okay first and foremost I gotta thank my best friend Max because he is an irl and does intercept a LOT of my dumb fic ideas (and then encourages me) but also just because he’s the first person I’d go to for a beta that I can trust with my very soul (my writing + my feelings around it). I would also like to thank (who woulda guessed) PK because you have also been a huge encouragement, and always seem to talk me out of my imposter syndrome episodes. In general I’d like to thank the creators of the original content I am making fics for because although I am taking your content and making it my own (in some ways) the whole reason I wrote fics is cause y’all are there handing me the metaphorical building blocks. I’m also gonna thank my lovely mutuals cause while I don’t interact much (i’m so shy guys i promise i’m nicer once you brute force your way into my brain) I do love y’all (/p) and you’re also a huge motivation for me to keep writing ngl. I would like to thank specifically PK and Laveau though because genuinely these two were a big inspiration for me to continue writing in general (more on the oc side of things, but it counts. Also Max is in this list but if he doesn’t know that us two bouncing world building off each other isnt so dear to my heart we have a PROBLEM.)

12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?

I will admit, this one took a while to think about. The closest I could think of right away was me (very slightly) warming up to the Yandere troupe. However thinking about it more it probably would be age gap fics, specifically in the context that in high school I did not fuck with it at all, but now I don't mind it as long as they're both consenting adults and there isn't some major power imbalance at hand.

23. What's a trope, AU, or concept you've never written, but would like to?

Genuinely? Probably a Hockey/Figure Skater au. Mainly because I think I can do it better than some officially published sources. But that's just one. Or even Figure Skater/Figure Skater (Yuri On Ice AU). A concept that I would like to write though is probably what I mentioned in this Milo/Sweetheart post, because I genuinely want to explore non- (explicitly) sexual touch/tension/passion.

45. What’s something you’ve improved on since you started writing fic?

:O I like this one! I could list so so many things but I'd say general flow/writing with less dialogue/being able to describe things better. I will also put the length into that as well. When I was first starting out as a wee little 13 y/o on wattpad, it was generally all dialogue and very short chapters. I wish I kept some of the writing to compare to but I got so put off by the writing a few years ago and got rid of it all. I know that I still have a lot to learn though and I'm so excited for that process ✨
