you know it’s actually rather weird that Yoruichi is overtly identified with Raijin but Soifon is only identified with Fūjin by association and comparison with her. like Soifon’s Mukyū Shunkō didn’t have to be called that, it could’ve just been called Fūjin Senkei like Yoruichi's Raijin Senkei... but it wasn't

why?

it’s not like it wasn’t so that Soifon could get a new reveal later, as she’s pretty much forced to stand around after everyone goes up to the Soul King’s Palace and doesn’t do anything against Gerard Valkyrie. she’s present but essentially exits the narrative long before that fight. and there was no interest in throwing her into the thick of things with NBFH either, if it ever even continues

it only sort of makes sense as a denial of the association rather than as an affirmation of it, as does Yoruichi having Raijū Senkei so quickly and prominently replace Raijin Senkei. it feels much more like you’re supposed to not associate them like that than that you are
