vanessa worries. she worries about what her life will ( or more specifically won’t ) become if she doesn’t make it out of the barrio. she worries about her creativity and when it might one day escape her and never come back. she worries about her finances. she worries about the people she cares about, and ever since nina left the salon with sopping wet hair she hasn’t been able to get her mind off of her.
after finding her apartment seemingly empty she’d wandered out to the park near the basketball courts, and that’s where she sees her, sitting alone with a small group of neighbors not so subtly whispering about her nearby. every step exuding confidence, vanessa makes her way over to her wayward friend and stops just shy of her. she crouches down, quite a feat in the heels she’s wearing, and meets nina a little closer to her level. her eyes shine with concern.
“bueno, you wanna talk about it?”
