S. NOTES why did i have so much fun writing this

to say riki considered you and heeseung his parents was an understatement.

he boy genuinely believed you were. so it's safe to say that when his heeseung hyung ( read: dad ) came home to their apartment late to their weekly boys' night and dropped the news, he was devastated.

“me and y/n broke up.“

riki could feel his whole world collapse, suddenly feeling ten again when his parents sat him down to tell him that his mum and dad were getting a divorce and dad was going to be moving back to his old city.

in hindsight, he should’ve consoled his hyung who didn’t look like he had just broken it off with his girlfriend of four years and the woman everyone believed he’d marry one day. he should've gone up to him like a good friend and given him a few words of comfort — maybe even a hug.

but instead, he felt anger. it was selfish, but he couldn’t realise his irrationality over the splitting feeling in his chest, and heeseung's reaction — or lack thereof — didn’t help but wedge a nail in the crack and hammer it down.

he couldn’t make out what the rest of their friends were saying, feeling all his senses suddenly muffle, giving his emotions nowhere to go but out, “what do you mean you broke up.”

the room suddenly felt colder. all their friends stopped talking and froze their gazes on him. seeing sunghoon from his peripheral, sending him a questioning look, but his vision tunnelled on the eldest, who was still standing near the entrance. “you can’t just break up, not now.”

confusion settled on the elder's face, overtly not expecting this reaction from him, “what do you mean i can't? it's my relationship, and we both ended it.”

riki was starting to feel antagonised, seeing faces look back and forth between him and the other, so he stood up in an attempt to size himself up, refusing to see the irrationality of his point. he felt like heeseung was being inconsiderate by breaking up something riki relied on without thinking of the others who'd be affected outside of the relationship.

everyone in their friend group was aware of his abnormal attachments, evident in the shirt he refuses to throw away because it was his father's, even if the fabric had more holes than not, or the two sizes too big shoes his sister gifted him, insisting he would ‘grow into them’ and now yours and heeseung's relationship.

healthy relationships weren't the norm in his life growing up, so by default, riki was hostile and withdrawn towards you the first few times heeseung introduced you as his new girlfriend. reminding himself constantly at the back of his mind that all relationships must come to an end and with every problem heeseung brought home, he was convinced it was near.

however, he must have underestimated you. one year became two, then four, and riki had become accustomed to his life with you. finding himself excited every time you’d come over whenever he was around because you had always seemed to favour him slightly, giving him the best meat cuts whenever you’d eat out together, or saving him the corner of the brownie because you knew it was his favourite part.

maybe it was silly to let you grow a home into the hole in his heart that was carved by his mother, seeking maternal comforts from you and allowing you to become a constant in his life.

but then again, all relationships have an end but riki wasn’t ready to let this one go. “so what? that’s it? you’re just going to end it here after everything?”

“look, it was a mutual breakup. we both just don't feel the same as we did before, so we broke it off like adults. i wish her all the best, just not with me.”

the split started to spread throughout his whole body, feeling his knees start to weaken under the weight of his emotions. when he started to feel his throat clog up and his eyes start to burn, he quickly made his escape, pushing past his hyung making sure to knock their shoulder on his way out to show he wasn't happy with the new change.

he could hear them discussing what happened after slamming his bedroom door, the thin walls leaving no word left unheard, drilling each question into his mind.

maybe then he should’ve left and apologised for his outburst, but grief is a funny feeling.

even though the relationship wasn’t his and never was to begin with, riki had gotten too comfortable living vicariously through you, and now he wanted someone to take responsibility for feelings only he could be blamed for.

but that’s another thing about grief. there’s always someone you want to pin the blame on. someone who caused this emotion to spiral and settle at the pit of his stomach without anywhere else to go leaving it to make itself home in his body.

and it wasn’t going to be him.

heeseungs night owl habits are no secret, usually staying up later in the night to game even if he’s had a tiring day

usually, to unwind you’d rather spend some time on your phone in bed until you were ready to knock out

built a routine of heeseung gaming at his desk with you in bed until either one is ready to sleep

recently noticed a certain behaviour of yours – once you grow tired on your phone you set it down and start shuffling about

talking blanket moving as you keep switching positions, sometimes fluffing the pillows

you’d keep moving and making noise until you’re comfy

finds your little habit cute and usually is enough to get him to join you in bed because his girlfriend is right there looking all sleepy, and cosy how could he not??

also means bed shuffling round two as now you need to work around your boyfriend’s body

( i can’t see, so you can’t see )

you do this whenever you want to try and sneak something away from him

could be his controller, phone, chocolate or tv remote. whatever it is, you want it.

try to creep your hand towards it snidely so he doesn’t suspect anything

except you’re so obvious.

just because you are not looking at it, doesn’t mean he isn’t too

is literally watching your hand inching closer and closer to your target with your face looking away as if you weren’t doing anything

happy just to watch you take charge of the situation and will move however you want

one of jakes favourite memories is when he watched you walk into the room he was in with a purpose only to quickly see your face fall as you instantly forgot what you came for

eavesdrops on you mumbling to yourself because he finds it hilarious how you hold a whole two-person conversation by yourself

happens more often than he expected but each time is just as funny as the last

watches the door whenever he hears you coming in case it happens because he finds your confused face so cute

would indulge you sometimes when he’s feeling extra giddy

asking you questions about what you’re looking for and then asking again because he likes riling you up a bit

tells you to retrace your steps and then burst out laughing watching you trying to recreate everything

best believe sunghoon was squealing when he first saw you in glasses

first realised your hatred for mixing foods together, you’d rather use two more dishes than put them all on the same plate even if you’ll mix them later

you also eat like it’s a ritual

will eat a few bites of everything placed in a rhythm, never taking too much or too little at once or you’ll tip the balance

found it a little weird at first but then fell in love with it

will buy you always get you a variety of food knowing you enjoy having options instead of one big portion

will fall into a trance watching you until you wave him back to earth

watching you apply the makeup isn’t what sunoo necessarily enjoys watching but the steps

likes to analyse you between the most awkward steps because he thinks you look funny

his absolute favourite is when you bake, will say you look like a ‘dry biscuit’ but will compliment your skills in the next breath

still doesn’t understand how baking sets in because how did all that powder not dry you up?? he’ll never understand

hawk eyes whenever you put on eyeliner because he knows staring makes you nervous and wants to see if you’ll hold up

never ending teasing if you do slip and mess up your eyeliner but all lovingly

also likes when you drown yourself in setting spray because first you were dry now wet.

redeems by complimenting your makeup for the rest of the day and a lot of kisses to smudge your lip gloss

( outfit planning )

sunoo just has a thing for watching you get ready

could be a big or small occasion, he likes witnessing the process his girlfriend takes before heading out

will go to you hours early for your date just to watch you set up your outfit

finds you cute when you stress over what to wear even though you both know you’ll figure something out

loves when you plan ahead and start to set up your outfit together to see the vision

makes him feel like you’re playing dress up when you hang up your fit with your shoes under and jewellery ready

expect him to randomly call you cute when you’re about to lose your mind looking for that one shirt that suddenly went missing (sunoo took it)

knows his girlfriend too well so as soon as he feels her getting too overwhelmed her prince charming steps in to save the day

YANG JUNGWON

( removing makeup )

do not let jungwon know you’re taking off makeup if you don’t want him standing right next to the bathroom sink watching you

shocked every single time by just how much comes off onto the makeup wipe and it isn’t even enough

will give a whole rant whilst you oil cleanse about how they should create a more convenient way to remove makeup like a single use face tape

you just block him out after a few seconds

loses his whole mind when you took off your lashes in front of him for the first time

thought you took out your real ones and was screaming bloody murder

had to reassure him your lashes were still there but now he just winces because he doesn’t get how it doesn’t hurt

once cried when you put them on him because he was too scared of taking them off and ‘ripping his eyes off’

( reaction to movies/dramas )

your boyfriend loves watching kdramas and movies so using BIDMAS, that also means you love watching them too

jungwon wasn’t expecting you to be smacking his arms and legs whenever the main leads got too close

can hear you cringing under your breath because you can’t handle embarrassing scenes for the life of you, even fictional ones

got used to your reactions in the first ten episodes and would constantly laugh at you

almost scared the life out of him when you screamed at the top of your lungs when they finally kissed

physically reflexed causing a head on collision with you which wasn’t pretty

still watches with you but has to be on guard because his body can only handle so many bruises

absolutely loves watching you cringe and will replay the scene just to watch you hide into him effectively getting you closer and closer

NISHIMURA RIKI

( doing your hair )

whilst jay likes seeing you let your hair down, riki loves watching you put it up

he’s had long hair in the past, but he was too young to really experiment with it

love love LOVES watching you try different styles

his favourite is when you have different partings, like boy dies for a good zigzag parting

will show you hairstyle inspos and create a whole collaborative pinterest board and everything

once you pick a hairstyle and show him what you’ll do he’ll even create a whole outfit for you and go as far as picking bobbles, clips, claws. you name it, he has it

tried to do it for you once and it ended with a big knot of your hair in the bin and a haircut appointment booked

even better when you’re doing something intricate and use riki as a real life mirror stand so he can see your concentrating face up close

( tuck yourself into a blanket )

usually, you’ll share a blanket with your boyfriend on movie dates or days where you’ll lay in each other’s bed napping together

but once it’s cold, it's everyman to himself

he’ll watch you grab the fluffiest blanket you can find then proceed to tuck yourself in from every corner

makes you look mummified but at least you’re warm

will try to join you knowing you won’t move an inch to compromise your little safety blanket

finds it adorable, especially when it's tucked right under your legs where he can literally make out the outline of your body

photos on photos of you saved onto his album reserved of pictures of you in your blanket mummy tuck

will just lay a different blanket on top of you both until you crawl out and cuddle with him instead

S. NOTES happy bday to my baby <//3 cant believe he’s growing up

finishing high school is a bittersweet feeling.

realising that you’ll never be in the same school as all your friends anymore, that you won’t be seeing them five times a week when everyone moves on with their lives attending different colleges. safe to say it isn’t the happiest day in your eyes.

halls filled with students crying and hugging, some with markers in their hands as they write their goodbye messages on each other's t-shirts, their own covered in colourful messages.

everyone roaming the buildings one last time as a high school student before they leave to officially enter their adult stages. thankfully exams were over so the weight on your shoulders had lifted slightly, making sure to cherish the last few moments you had in this stage of life.

“guess what? i heard that kei is going to give hana his second button,” your friend gossiped, filling the whole group with gasps.

“poor guy, she’s definitely going to reject him.”

every year there would always be a select group of boys handing their crushes the second button of their uniform, a common confession practice at the end of high school year. there’s something sweet about it, giving the person you like the button closest to your heart instead of outright saying it.

it feels youthful, too shy to speak but brave enough to do something so bold in front of the whole school.

so after witnessing keis rejection live, your friends decided to go out to eat not being able to handle the second-hand embarrassment from their classmate. you didn’t make it too far out the school gates before someone called your name.

“yn!”

turning around to see someone running towards you, nishimura riki. everyone knew of riki for his dance skills always shown through the multiple stages and events he holds yearly, and maybe you’d spoken to him a few times but nothing enough to be considered friends.

you can hear your friends mumbling behind you as you walk towards him meeting him halfway, “hi riki, what’s up?”

there’s no denying riki is cute. from the mole adorning his face and his pouty lips, anyone could see he was blessed with looks alongside talent.

“erm—“ you could see him nervously fiddling as he reached for something from his pocket, “i just wanted to give you this.”

in his hands was a single gold button engraved with your school's cherry blossom design. you look up, scanning his uniform to see all his buttons intact except one.

the empty space where his second button once was stared back at you, as riki was starting to feel his adrenaline wear down and embarrassment start to crawl up his body when he noticed your friends a few feet away giggling and talking amongst themselves.

“you don’t have to take it. actually, this is stupid. i’m—“

before he could finish his sentence, you grabbed the button before his hands could close around it, clasping your own around the metal and pulling it closer to your own heart, “thank you riki, i'll text you?”

under different circumstances, you would’ve been worried how red the boy had gotten in the face as he aggressively nodded his head before running back the way he came.

maybe this next step is sweeter than expected.

has a new habit of singing your name in the middle of random conversations

he’d be talking to you in the most monotone voice ever then here comes mariah carey once your name is mentioned

would finish his sentence in the most normal voice ever as if he didn’t just scream your name in falsetto

gets weird stares from everyone around you

( adamant to talk to you even though he’s actively falling asleep )

you both fell into the routine of calling each other at night

and even though you can hear him slurring his speech and dosing off he refuses to hang up

would deny to hell and back that he is sleepy

even though you can literally hear him losing consciousness

would eventually hang up on him because the arguing became him saying incoherent words trying to prove himself

guess what: did not prove anything

expect him to call all pouty the next morning because you hung up

he’s not used to long hair (or at least longer)

would easily become obsessed with touching your hair

once saw a tiktok of how to braid hair and fell into a rabbit hole

would randomly try and braid your hair after watching a few youtube tutorials and 100% creates a lot of knots

but you still let him because he’s just so cute when he tries to brush your hair carefully without hurting you (would also give the best scalp messages)

if you have curly/coily hair he’d start asking about your hair type and would loveee helping you when its hair day

camera roll is just filled with pictures of him with bobby pins in his mouth/experimenting on your hair

jay has never had a problem with holding eye contact talking to people

so poor baby was confused when you could barely hold eye contact for a minute

after getting together he’d ask you why you did that, and you had to explain that not everyone can intensely hold eye contact the whole time

also mentioned how him being attractive did not help your case

definitely the type to follow your eyes with his whole face to tease you

also prepare your heart for being on the receiving end of his ‘madly in love�� stare

everyone knows jake is a very curious boy

both you and him knew that

so, him asking you questions about everything and anything is normal to you

but after the first few questions you realise, he never fails to look at you expectantly blinking his eyes at a kind of concerning speed

don’t think he even realises he does it

but it’s the cutest thing ever so its okay

could ask you the most out of pocket question then give you puppy eyes blinking at you cutely

would push you into an existential crisis with his questions about life and debrief you with his blinking

you can never sit down to do anything without suddenly feeling something heavy in your lap

sit down and you’ll be able to distantly hear the sound of someone running full speed to lay on you

jake is a big fan of head scratches but sometimes he just wants to be there

could both be doing you own thing

no ‘hi, hello how was your day’ just head in lap and hand in hair

once you nudged him away from your lap because he wouldn’t stop fidgeting and he gave you the silent treatment for 2 hours

nothing a few head rubs and praises can’t fix

PARK SUNGHOON

hoon is a domestic type of boyfriend

so don’t be surprised when he likes to help you do mundane acts like putting on your coat, opening the door for you

but his favourite thing to do is tie your shoelaces

you don’t know why he likes doing it so much and honestly neither does he

bonus points if the weather is cold and you’re wearing a puffy coat with a scarf and hat practically drowning you

sometimes he’ll watch you struggle a little when you can’t reach your shoes comfortably before sweeping in to save you

god forbid he sees you let someone else do it, you’ll have to deal with a petty sunghoon for the rest of the day

( squeezing/biting you )

when you first got together he’d randomly lean over to you and squeeze whatever limb is closest to him

sometimes it’s cute like your arm or thigh but sometimes he’s a weirdo and will squeeze your ankle if its close enough

after becoming more comfortable he’d start grabbing you more until one day he bit you

you were both cuddling on the couch watching a movie when you suddenly feel a set of teeth gently bite your cheek

cue him trying to explain himself whilst you stare at him holding your cheek in confusion

it’s a little cute like when he bites softly onto your hand but sometimes it would fucking hurt like the one time he back hugged you and bit you on the back

he suffers from high levels of cuteness aggression so it won’t be the last time he bites you a little too hard

KIM SUNWOO

( watch you do your makeup )

sunoo grew up watching his sister do her makeup in the mirror nearly everyday so of course he’d watch when you do it

would love to see the way you decide what look to do and what colours to pick

make sure to always ask for his input because he loves helping you pick your makeup

a little hesitant to ask to try on you since his sister never let him

would start smiling so hard when you let him

a bit scary though when he’s doing your makeup and giggling to himself

surprisingly good at it which confuses you because who was he practicing on hmm

when you first met sunoo you were wearing your contacts

so, when he saw you on a random day wearing glasses he became obsessed

prefers at home dates since it usually means you wear your glasses instead of contacts

started a little thing were he’ll push your glasses up when its slides down

might slope down the little bit and now his finger is in your face

sometimes he’ll just completely take it off to mess with you

finds it hilarious when you try to read something far away and he snatches them off so you can’t see anymore

YANG JUNGWON

jungwon was shocked at the amount of clothes you had when you first started dating

which only got worse after you started stealing all his clothes

shocked gasps can be heard every time he hears you say you have nothing to wear

he finds the whole process of you picking out an outfit funny

loves when you try on multiple outfits because he knows you’ll probably end up with one of his hoodies and jeans

refuses to help you pick because you always ask only to do whatever you want

loves when you make a pile of clothes you don’t want to wear on your bed because he can smell his and your perfume mixing from his hoodies

where sunghoon squeezes and bites, jungwon pokes and tickles

did it once to scare you but you didn’t react so now he’s made it his life goal to catch you off guard

convinced he can condition you into being ticklish if he tries hard enough like okay pavlov

where some people get bored and move on to someone who will react, yang jungwon only becomes more determined

has tried tickling you through the day to see if that changes anything. it doesn’t

lets just say a little argument ensued once when he decided to tickle you at 3am in your sleep

he’s so dramatic with it too oh my god he’ll start whining about if you don’t touch him now he’ll die in two seconds

began with him trying to hug you 24/7 even when the members would tease him he wouldn’t let go

that soon changed to intertwining pinkies because walking whilst hugging is not easy

if for some reason he can’t hug or hold you pinkie he’ll make do

sometimes he’ll link your arms or pinch your clothes

another weirdo who’ll hug your leg if he has to

he’s become accustomed to waking up with you that if he doesn’t see you next to him he’ll get up to look for you

it’s cute to you when he comes into the living room or kitchen dishevelled and hugs you

but scares the fuck out of his members

they were convinced for the first month he was sleep walking

would see niki at ass o’clock going through each room calling out your name like a broken record

would take him a minute to process the fact that you’re not there

would get sent a new videos daily from one of the members of a groggy niki going through the rooms saying your name

today you were trying something new.

heeseung had told you about reservations for your date night at a fancy restaurant to give you a heads-up on the dress code, knowing how you tended to stress over outfits when you weren't given an idea. most of your dates with heeseung consisted of home dates or walks along the han river so this was a change from your usual.

that explains why you currently have a bed sporting a mountain of rejected clothes as you spent over two hours trying to put together an outfit you deemed appropriate for the occaison.

each outfit either felt too casual (thanks to how most of the clothes you owned consisted of t-shirts twice your size and baggy jeans) or too revealing, you weren't about to wear the same skirt you take clubbing to a michelin star restaurant. the stress of it all had you panic-calling your best friend for her opinion.

which would've been great if you didn't accidentally click on heeseungs contact, so now you have heeseung coming to you a whole hour earlier than when you expected him to pick you up.

so that's what your boyfriend walked in on, with you standing in front of your mirror in another top that you weren't satisfied with.

"hey babe...how's it going?" he asked warily, trying to gauge your mood. he could feel the stress rolling off you in waves, as you rush to take off your shirt to try another.

"great, great. not like i'm having a crisis right now," you sighed.

"how about, you sit down maybe get some tea and i try to pick out an outfit for you?" he watched you pause, frankly you could use a break because if the pile on your bed decided to get any bigger you think might breakdown and cry.

"yeah. that would be nice actually," he slowly ushered you out of your room, pushing you towards the kitchen.

"i'll call you when i've found something, go relax babe."

it wasn't until you finished your first cup you heard heeseung calling for you, slowly walking into your bedroom you were greeted with two outfits laid out neatly on your bed. your bed which was now empty.

"i took the liberty to push everything on the floor, by the way," he smiled sheepishly.

the outfits were perfect. maybe staring at the same pile for over an hour messed up your brain so much that you couldn't even think to make a decent outfit. heeseung stood waiting for your verdict, looking at you with his bambi eyes, "they're cute, get out let me try them on."

"come on," he whined, "not like it's anything i haven't seen before."

you scoffed, pushing out a smirking heeseung out of the room.

you were now standing in front of the mirror for the nth time today, however this time you were actually content with the outfit. you were feeling a little conscious of how exposed your shoulders and neck were — courtesy of the off-shoulder top.

suddenly, you heard three knocks on your door, "babe, are you okay? You're taking a minute," hee asked, slowly peeked in racking his eyes along your figure.

"does this shirt look okay?" you questioned, running your hands along the material.

"i mean," he slowly walked towards you, placing his hands around your waist, "you look gorgeous."

he began littering kisses from your nape down to your shoulder, making sure to take his time in between each kiss, "you sure hee? is it not too much?"

making eye contact with you through the mirror, he replied lowly, "how about we ditch the restaurant and stay home so i can appreciate you better, hmm?"

"shut up," you whined, playfully pushing him away, "go finish getting ready ill be out in a minute."

draping himself over you, he loudly groaned trying to convince you to stay home instead as he shoved his face in the crook of your neck purposely breathing heavily to tickle you.

"stop acting like a baby hee, come on."

"i'll only go if you give me a kiss," he looked at you, eyes wide shimmering with expectancy.

"just one."

"just one, i promise."

"okay, no funny business," you warned, pointing your finger at him. he pulled you in, making sure to cage you in so he could steal more kisses than he promised before making his escape.

everybody knew sunghoon was a jealous person, it was just who he was. so it wasn’t unusual when he started to act out when he thought the server at the restaurant was a little too friendly with you.

now if you asked sunghon why he was walking around your shared apartment sulking with a pout etched on his face, he’d say it's because you were too nice to the waiter. leaving you to now be given the silent treatment by your boyfriend because the ‘thank you’ you gave at the end of the night was too enthusiastic for his liking.

“are you really going to ignore me over something stupid?” you asked, watching him completely ignore your existence as he sat on the couch, “okay, fine.”

if he wanted to get prissy so be it. two can play this game.

as much as sunghoon was jealous, he was also clingy. no more than an hour into his temper tantrum he was quickly over it, walking towards your bedroom to look for you.

he finds you on the bed with your laptop perched open on your lap, “babe, want to watch a movie?”

his response was met with silence. your fingers continued to type without sparing him a glance, “babe?”

you close your laptop and stand up making sunghoon think you’d follow, hearing your footsteps behind him as he goes into the living room. it takes him a minute to process that he is in fact alone as he hears shuffling in the kitchen.

“are you bringing snacks?” he walked towards you, watching you finish drinking your water before placing the empty cup in the sink and walking past him into the bedroom again. he watched your retreating figure with confusion, following you like a lost puppy.

you were back in bed but on your phone this time. he stood at the end of the bed dumbfounded about how you were even able to ignore your very handsome, sexy, tall, funny boyfriend ( his words ).

“why are you ignoring me?” he whined, elongating the end of his words as he slowly crawled up beside you, “i should be the one ignoring you.”

sunghoon quickly shuts his mouth when he catches you sending him a glare before focusing your attention back on your phone. he huffed thinking of other ways he could get you to give him, settling on draping himself over you forcibly making you give him attention.

“look at me,” he could hear you groaning annoyed under him at his behaviour but that didn’t stop him, “i'm sorry. i was jealous and overreacted but now you’re overreacting and that’s my thing!” he pouted, trying to give you his best puppy eyes like jake taught him.

he could see your resolve slowly melt as you tried to fight back a smile, “you were overreacting.” you agreed, seeing his face light up when you finally spoke to him.

“i know but i’m over it now, i swear! just pay attention to me.”

“okay you big baby,” you laughed, letting him cuddle into you, “but do you promise not to do it again?”

he looked up at you like you were crazy, “you know you’re asking too much of me.”

“why did i even try.”

sunghoon hopes that you don’t notice the shift in his demeanour. how he’s loud and obnoxious when you both are surrounded by your friends, but suddenly becomes quiet when he finds himself in situations alone with you.

it’s not intentional. being surrounded by friends helps keep the intrusive thoughts of confessing to you at bay, but those urges come tenfold when there is no one else around. it’s just hard for him to find the words to speak to you when all his senses are overloaded with you, feeling his words get stuck in his throat whenever you look his way.

looks that do not help the urges mind you. a tiny voice in his head tries to delude that each glance holds something, that she might actually feel the same but sunghoon has always been a logical person. convinced himself that the softness in your eyes and the smile on your lips were because you were a kind person, definitely not reserved only for him.

you’re both sitting on a bench in the courtyard, facing each other after the others had classes they had to rush to. “so sunghoon, anything new?”

sunghoon has never been more grateful for your skill to hold conversations, fearing he’d burst out into love confessions if he tried to start the conversation. he could hear the voices screaming at him to tell you how he felt, seeing how the weather was beautiful and you both were alone. feeling an itch under his skin seeing you scratch and pull at your cuticles, wanting to reach over and hold your hands in his own.

“nothing much really, jay’s trying to convince me to make chocolates with him for white day.” he noticed you slightly perk up.

“already? white day is in three weeks,” you giggled, hiding your smile behind the sleeve of your sweater. he wished he could lean forward and move your arm, wanting to see your smile on full display for him to use in his scenarios when he's falling asleep, “do you not have someone you want to give the chocolates to hoonie?”

if this was a shojo manga you’d see sunghoon's nose bursting with blood after hearing the nickname escape your lips. it wasn’t the first time you’d given him a cute nickname and not the first time that one was used on him but it has a different feeling when you use it.

seeing you still looking at him with something in your eyes he couldn’t quite pin, “no?”

your smile slightly widened at his answer, seeing the glint disappear, “is that a question?”

he laughed under his breath, trying to avoid eye contact before he got down on one knee and proposed, feeling heat rise from his neck to his face. “why, are you expecting something from someone?”

sunghoon wanted the ground to swallow him whole. he didn’t expect his statement to be so straightforward but decided to save the embarrassment for him to wallow in later when he heard you laugh.

“maybe.”

nevermind. sunghoon wanted lightning to strike him where he sat he could already feel the little bit of his brain that thought he had a chance shrivel up and die. and if there was something sunghoon was almost as good at as he is at skating, it’s hiding his feeling. “really, who?”

just because his hope and dreams with you have decided to up and leave, he’d never let that ruin your friendship. maybe, along the line, he could prove himself to be worthy of your affection.

a light pink dusted your cheeks slightly, “i’m not telling. but he’s so perfect, he’s funny—”

a burning pain started bubbling at the pit of his stomach, feeling his spread its flames through his body rapidly. rejection would’ve probably been more merciful than listening to the girl you are in love with talk about her ‘perfect’ crush.

he felt a little guilty that his brain tuned you out when you carried on explaining your new soulmate, but sunghoons was sure if he kept listening to you talk about how much you adored the dimple on the side of this unknown man’s face he’d rip his hair out in front of you.

he internally thanked the lord when he saw a message from his mother asking of his whereabouts, knowing he wouldn’t be able to find an excuse to leave you without sobbing his heart out, “i’m so sorry y/n, i think i need to head home now. mums texting.”

he flipped the screen to show you. just because you so happened to be in love with someone else doesn’t mean he’d start treating you any differently. It just meant he had some competition.

“no worries! i should start heading home too,” you smiled, grabbing your bag as you both stood up. before he could react, he saw your figure rounding the table towards him, pulling him into a hug. “get home safely!” sunghoon stood there for a few minutes alone, staring at the path you disappeared from like the idiot he was before a call broke his thoughts, “hello? i'm walking home now.”

sunghoon thinks he’s going insane.

currently lying on his bed in the same position that he was in two hours ago, just staring at the ceiling. you can’t really blame him, he was being ‘productive’ in his words — which actually meant thinking about you in random scenarios where you both were happily married with a dog.

the only reason these daydreams last longer than the average person is because sunghoon has no control over his mind. one minute he’s confessing to you with a song as you sit there shocked because sunghoon can hold a note when he wants to, but it seems the possibility that his love may be unrequited still loomed over his thoughts.

suddenly, you’re looking at him with pity, saying you have feelings for someone else that wasn’t him. even in his delusions he’s not safe from the terrifying and very real chance that you may not be harbouring any feelings that are in any way romantic towards him.

rolling over to smother himself in his pillow so his sister wouldn't hear him screaming at the top of his lungs, which he quickly realised was useless as he heard her voice shouting ‘shut up!’ from down the hallway.

maybe it wasn’t the right moment to start thrashing around in his bed like those girls in dramas when their crushes notice them, except his crush isn’t noticing him in the way he wants, because that’s exactly what jay and jake walk in on, “bro. what the fuck are you doing?”

sunghoon would’ve been more embarrassed if the boys currently welcoming themselves into his room hadn't already witnessed him at his lowest, but that didn’t stop him from being annoyed that his personal time with you ( in his head ) was cut short. “who even let you in?”

“mama park,” jay said, throwing himself on the bean bag beside his bed, “now why are you throwing a tantrum by yourself? did y/n reject you?”

“no,” sunghoon grumbled, throwing a dirty look towards the other two boys who were looking for any signs of a broken heart. “i haven’t even confessed yet.”

jake throws him a funny look that sunghoon would’ve taken more offence to if it wasn’t for what he said right after, “that’s if you even get a chance, i heard that junseo from heeseungs class is planning to ask her out!” you’d think they were talking about regular school gossip with the way jay and jake were invested as if talking about strangers who probably didn’t even know their names and not sunghoon's wife and mother of his kids.

well not kids, dog.

if jake hadn’t been sat at his desk on the other side of the room he would’ve lunged at him, instead opting to throw pillows using all his strength with malicious intent. he couldn’t understand jake screaming over his own voice, “what do you mean?!”

the only reason he stopped his attack was because he ran out of things left to throw, unless jake provoked him enough to throw his lamp at him, “dude! what is wrong with you?!”

“when is he asking her?” you’d think the soul of john wick possessed sunghoons body with the way he was staring at his friend who was acting as if he’d just been hit by bricks and not a few feathers.

“i don’t fucking know!” jake carries on to wail dramatically, the usual, “i’m calling the police, can’t believe you just assaulted me.”

sunghoon blocked out the sounds of jay and jake bickering as the situation dawned on him. he was going to lose you.

throwing himself back onto his bed like the prepubescent girl he was, going back to looking at the ceiling. except this time all his scenarios end in you saying the god-forsaken words.

‘i have a boyfriend.’

then out comes junseo with his big biceps, and his big beady eyes ( they’re actually very beautiful but sunghoons trying to wallow in self-pity right now ) and probably more experienced in life being a year older, of course, you’d be into older guys; not immature boys who still can’t leave his leg out the blanket in case a demon drags him into hell.

i mean, that doesn’t sound as bad as you getting with somebody that’s not him.

sunghoon had to ask you first, the possibility of you also liking him back is low but not zero. he had to take his chances.

in his delusions, sunghoon always imagined confessing to you romantically. preferably in front of the eiffel tower that he rented out just for you because he’s also super mega rich in these scenarios, or in the rain by a random lake where he’ll confess and you’ll pull him into a passionate kiss as a reply because you’ve always shown your words through your ( even in his dreams ). or even the odd times where he catches himself imagining confessing to you infant of the whole student population because he’d just watched bunny girl senpai — courtesy of his soobin-hyung — i mean, he has always had a knack of embarrassing himself in front of you so it’s not too far fetched.

but not this. never had he imagined himself walking to your house at 5pm in his pyjamas, he’d contemplated waiting for the sunset so at least there be a pretty view but he knew he’d have chickened out if he waited another few hours.

this decision was last minute, hence the outfit choice, he could hear his blood rushing past his ears and his heart beating out his chest as he picked up his step, hoping to get to you before the adrenaline wore out and he was back to square one.

he was hasty but not stupid. he had made sure to message you beforehand to ask if you were even home because if he walked 45 minutes just to face your parents he thinks he’d just start crying, and thank the lord you were. you’d even supplied that you were currently home alone and sunghoon saw that as a sign from god that it was time.

you’d think walking almost an hour he would’ve had enough time to compose a proper confession, with pretty words and flowery notes but to his core sunghoon was an idiot. so instead he spent his time wisely by going through every negative scenario possible.

you could slam your door in his face or slap him or even laugh in the middle of his speech cause he has a habit of stuttering when nervous. he doesn’t quite know which one would be worse, he just hopes that you let him down slowly and knowing you, you would. you’d probably reject him in the nicest way possible that wouldn’t even leave enough room for him to dwell on his broken heart, you were always sweet like that.

next thing you know, sunghoon is standing in front of your door showing no intention to actually ring your doorbell as he tries to calm his nerves down and of course, that would be the moment you open the door. there goes his effort as he feels his heart rate pick up again, “oh! you got here quickly hoonie.”

all sunghoon can hear is buzzing as he watches you smile at him. how could anyone expect him to even be able to think straight with you looking at him like that, it was already unfair that you looked so cute in your pyjamas whilst he probably looked like he’s been evading the police for weeks now.

“are you okay?” you wave your hand in front of his face. not the first time since he was known of his habit of daydreaming randomly but something stops working when you start to speak again, “did you hurt yourself on the way h—“

“i like you.”

he’s fucked it. no harm in just digging his own grave deeper by rambling the rest of his feelings.

“like a lot. a lot a lot, like i’m basically in love with you. it’s like cupid is shooting arrows at my heart every time you talk to me and i know it sounds crazy but to me, it’s not, i didn’t even realise it at the beginning since it was a constant feeling around you but now I’ve known it’s because i’ve loved you from the start and i wasn’t supposed to confess to you like this like. i had a whole plan and speech and all but i had to do it right now or i don’t know if i ever would’ve.”

maybe he would’ve appreciated it if you cut him off ( preferably by a kiss ) to save him some embarrassment and to cut his long speech short because he can’t figure out exactly what the look on your face meant. “we’re so stupid.” you laughed, bending over in a fit of giggles leaving sunghoon confused, “this whole time we’ve liked each other all this time and didn’t even know.”

your words repeated in his head like a mantra liked each other, liked each other, liked each other. sunghoon thinks he’s going to faint.

“you like me back?”

sunghoon might start believing in god because his late-night fantasies suddenly became reality when you pulled him connecting your lips. it was only brief, a short peck, but sunghoon felt like he was on cloud nine, “that was nice.”

all he got back was a quick look of disapproval before you pulled him into your house.

after you composed yourself ( barely ) you spoke out breathily, “well, at least now you can tell junseo you’re my boyfriend.”

sunghoon should be concerned about how quickly his body shut down after hearing those words, “boyfriend?” “after all that we’re not going to date?” you sighed, already used to his slow tendencies, giving him a minute to catch his breath.

“we are! oh my god, you’re my girlfriend now.”

“congrats!” you gave him little jazz hands, he could already hear jays voice in the back of his mind playfully reprimanding you for indulging his antics. “you did what junseo couldn’t.”

yeah, he definitely regrets telling you because no way you’re ever letting that go. but some sacrifices must be made and if it keeps you this happy and makes you laugh that loud, sunghoon is willing to put his dignity on the line. or whatever left of it.

because now he has you, and he always has. missing the longing glances you threw his way, your efforts to get him alone so you had an excuse to focus your sole attention on him and him only without raising suspicion between your friend group.

S. NOTE last but not least my baby riki. this is the last req from my event ( long overdue ik but shhh ) but I tried to make it a little special for my special boy and i genuinely had fun writing this so hopefully it’s good <3

also the title being one of my fave songs ever. jo yuri u will be punished for making it so so short

the sounds of machines beeping and other teenagers screaming rang through your ears as you walked through the arcade hand-in hand with riki. walking past all the friends playing with the claw machines before you pulled him back towards one that caught your eyes.

“oh my god, how cute!” you said, digging through your pocket to ply one round before you felt riki push you away to take your place.

you see him slot in a coin as he bends down a little to grab the joystick, posture relaxed “i’m an expert, watch me get it on the first try for you.”

fast forward, it’s been over half an hour and still no plushie in sight. your competitive boyfriend refuses to give up after many failed attempts, something about not letting a stupid machine hurt his ‘manly’ pride. he was hunched over the control keys, knees bent, as he followed the claw using his whole upper body.

after another fail you begin to tug at the bottom of his shirt, “come on, babe. we all know they’re rigged, and you’ve already spent too much on it.”

you see him huff under his breath, annoyance starting to show through his face still adamant on winning. suddenly shooting up straight, startling you as he whips his head towards you. If there was a lightbulb above his head, it would’ve turned on, “hug me.”

“what?” you looked at him confused, seeing him looking completely serious.

“hug me, you’re my lucky charm,” he grabbed your arms, encouraging you to wrap around his waist, and how could you say no after all the effort — and money — he has used to discourage him now? so, slowly wrapping your arms around him wasn’t the problem, but the awkward situation it left you in with him slightly bending into you.

trying to ignore the questioning glances thrown your way by people just trying to walk past you two as riki goes back into focus with a deep breath.

you couldn’t see much of what was going on, having your view obstructed by your boyfriend's huge back until you start to feel him shake. he turned around so quickly you barely had time to register before you suddenly felt your feet leave the ground.

rikis excited about winning the plushie after god knows how much time and money manifested in him lifting you and spinning you both, “i knew you were my lucky charm!”

leaving no room for you to respond, he quickly places you down as he turns to retrieve the plushie, an almost jarring yellow duck with pink round cheeks and a puffy beak. presenting it to you like a cat would when leaving a dead bird at your doorstep, all pridefully accompanied by the biggest box smile on display.

“here you go, bae. why’d you pick this duck anyway?” he asked, the adrenaline of finally winning evidently still hadn’t worn off yet. you slowly raised the plushie to be beside rikis head, now having two ducks facing you.

you could see the gears turning in his head, but no dots were connecting as he slightly tilted his head with a pout on his lips. you could swear he was trying to copy the duck if you hadn’t known him well enough.

“no reason, just cute.”

shrugging in response, as he grabs your hand to pull you towards another game that wouldn’t suck your pockets dry. looking down to see the duck snug between your forearm and chest and looking up to see the boy you love who looked almost identical.

but of course, one of them is way cuter.

walks along the han river at ungodly hours wasn’t new to you, courtesy of yang jungwon.

sure you’d stay up until the sun is almost rising, but actually leaving your house was never even an option because, why would you ever consider leaving your warm bed for the harsh cold wind?

until yang jungwon became your boyfriend.

your boyfriend who seems to love walks along rivers past 1am where the moon hangs idly in the sky, preferring to walk along the streets without having them filled with people — or worse, kids.

now, relaxing in your bed as you read online was a thing of the past. slowly finding yourself unconsciously preparing an outfit suitable for the weather outside for when you inevitably receive that ‘be ready in 20, were going on a walk!’ text from jungwon.

you didn’t necessarily hate the walks themselves, it was the cold. good thing you had your boyfriend there to warm you, “babe look! they have a park!”

you followed behind, not like you had much choice when you’re intertwined hands were tucked safely in his jacket pocket forcing you to go after him. sure enough, there was a playground, nothing especially different from the parks that were near your apartment except one thing.

no kids.

“they have a zipline i'm going to piss myself,” jungwon screamed, wasting no time to separate your hands and leave you in the dust.

you huffed under your breath, it's hard to complain about the sudden lack of warmth when you have your boyfriend climbing up the kiddie ladder to position himself high with the biggest smile on his face, “why can't you say you’re excited like a normal person?”

“because it's not as eloquent,” and maybe the effects of being on a playground took a toll on his brain because he blew a fucking raspberry at you. like, full spit and sound, “film me!”

“okay, you overgrown child,” you said, pulling out your phone to start recording him not expecting much.

maybe, you both should have taken into consideration that you were both adults in a children’s playground, so it shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise when jungwon jumped off of the mini tower with the rope between his legs to only make it half the way before his feet buried themselves into the sand — effectively throwing your boyfriend down flat onto the ground.

he got up with a wince on his face, patting his pants down as you began doubling over in laughter on the ground unable to hear him whining over yourself, “i think i got some sand in my ass.” that only made you laugh louder, feeling tears ready to fall at any minute, “happy to see you enjoy my misery.”

“aww, don’t sulk sandy cheeks, let's go home,” you patted his shoulder, walking off towards the pavement leaving him whining behind you.

“hey! don’t call me that!”
