Last weekend I had a little bit of spare time to go to a nearby park to take some shawl pictures. There will be more to come in the next couple of days. 🍂 We have the most beautiful October this year and I am so much in love with this season. And we are in the midst of our HERBGARDEN knitwear shawl KAL. #hgkskal2022 I decided to offer this KAL as an alternative for everyone who watches the West Knits MKAL with great joy every year, but does not want to start a mystery project they might not like in the end - like me! 😁 Our KAL still runs still the end of November - and I am open to extend it if there is demand for it - so you can still join in while we knit on our beautiful shawls. 🧶 We even have a little chat group here on IG. Finished and blocked the Nurmilintu scarf/shawl today. Used yarn from my stash, but my choice shows why you shouldn’t use busy yarn for lace work. The lace sections don’t even show up! But the picot binding came out better than the last time I tried it, so it’s got that going for it. Just a few more days till our HERBGARDEN knitwear shawl KAL ends on Nov 30th. I don't know about you, but I enjoyed it so very much! 🧶 #hgkskal2022 It was a pleasure to talk and exchange pictures in our chat group. For me, seing my designs come to life is the most wonderful experience. A big "Thank you!" to everyone who shared pictures of their shawls. ❤ I going to pick a winner in the beginning of December. Also, knitting my two-colored version of the Savoring Shawl was just the project that I needed when my knitting mojo was gone. It kept my hands occupied and my mind calm. It is a very gloomy September day here in northern Germany. 🍂 So, I am spending my Saturday going through my stash in search of a yarn that I want to use for the HERBGARDEN knitwear shawl KAL. 🙌 #hgkskal2022 One option would be this gorgeous deep green yarn. It is Origin from Raincloud&Sage and the color called "moor" was a limited edition dyed by Mominoki Yarn last year. By the way, this post is not sponsored in any way. I bought the yarn myself, because I genuinely enjoy it. It is just the kind of pure, rustic merino that I will never get enough of. I already used Origin for two of my designs: the Ardent Autumm shawl and the Hiraeth Sweater. #ardentAutumnShawl #hiraethSweater These three skeins should be enough to make a second Ardent Autumm shawl and I kind of love the idea of having a green one. 🌿 There are still a few weeks till we cast on on Oct 1st. Are you interested in a KAL? 🍁 It is shawl season! 🙌 I love this time of the year when we get both warm, sunny days and chill evenings to snuggle up in our shawls. 🌞🍂 Earlier today I shared a proposal in my stories: While many of you are getting ready for the annual West Knits MKAL, I know that almost as many are not big fans of mystery KALs. Just like me - some of you simply prefer to know what they are knitting and are not built to stand the fear of maybe not liking the shawl when it is done. 😁 So, what do you think - should we start a HERBGARDEN knitwear shawl KAL instead? I would offer all participants a discount on my shawl patterns. You could choose to knit any (or all) HGK shawl(s). And of course I would draw a winner at the end who gets a price! 🏆 If you are (or are not) interested please let me know in the poll in my stories while it is still there - or in the comments below when the story has disappeared.
