I’m doing ok. Been a bit under the weather this week, but I’m a little better tonight. I have a new diabetes medication and my body is still sorting it out. It can cause nausea and other stomach issues, but it’s really helping my blood sugar and all that, so it’s a good trade, I guess?

Well, music wise I have been into Green Day massively lately. I’ve always been a fan, but recently I have developed a major thing for Billie Joe Armstrong and it has totally reawakened my love for this band. I love them so much. 😫😭

Also, I’ve gotten into these emo/punk YouTuber dudes Johnnie Guilbert and Jake Webber, who also have also put out some pretty decent music. They do vids on YouTube together (and separately) and have amassed a huge following. They are both so beautiful too, omg. Especially Johnnie. I guess pretty dudes with long choppy black hair, facial piercings, tattoos, and guitars are my official TYPE lol.

Anyway, tons of obsessive fangirling over Billie Joe Armstrong, Johnnie Guilbert, and Izzy. 🥵😮‍💨 I’ve been watching lots of Green Day live shit on YouTube as well as Jake/Johnnie vids these days AND I’ve been into watching documentaries lately too, especially true crime docs. Whatever I can find, I’m like a little sponge, soaking it all up. Lots of good stuff on Netflix and Hulu and Paramount. I love old reruns of 20/20 and 48 Hours. Good true crime shit on both of those shows. 😌

That’s about it. Music, fangirling, and true crime lol. I’m pretty boring actually. 😂

So one of the things I like to collect are expensive perfumes. One of my absolute favorites is Someday by Justin Bieber 🫣🤫 which is so fucking embarrassing, but I swear to all that is holy that it smells soooo good, y’all.

Hey, girlie. It IS cold here, but I haven’t heard of anyone dying here in Memphis. But I haven’t been watching the news either lol. I’ve pretty much been hibernating in my bed for three days. 😆

Our roads are still pretty bad. The temps are a tad bit warmer, but still very cold. The snow is getting so packed down, it’s making the streets very slick. Plus, it’s been sleeting off and on all day, so tonight the roads will completely freeze over.

Oh hell yes, that’s Jason London. He’s in a ton of movies. He has a twin brother named Jeremy who’s an actor also. They are VERY hot lol. I like the movie The Man in the Moon, which has one of the London twins in it, I can’t remember which one. That one sticks out in my mind, because Reese Witherspoon is in it also, but they are in a lot of movies that I’ve seen. Check out IMDB and you can try to watch all of their movies. So, I heard an interesting theory regarding 14 Years // GNR on a podcast episode today. Maybe you've heard it, but I never had before. I'd love your thoughts on it.

Do you think it's possible that 14 Years is about Axl, as opposed to a girlfriend of Izzy's? "14 Years..." Axl and Izzy met in high school, and if this was around 1991, it would be about that long ago. These lyrics are particularly interesting: "These last four years of madness sure put me straight..." (1987-1991: four years). If that happens to be true, that's lowkey amusing that Axl helped sing a song about himself, lol.

(Btw, if anybody sees this and thinks it's controversial or whatever: I didn't come up with this; I heard it from somewhere else, and I'm just interested to get a second opinion on it.)

I’ve always thought it was mainly about Axl’s and Izzy’s relationship (or maybe that’s what I wanted it to be about in my very imaginative mind). I know it’s written in part by both of them; I heard they both had stuff written and they put what they both had together and made one song out of it. I feel like the lyrics could definitely be about either Izzy OR Axl. I did hear that some of it was written by Izzy about a chick too.

But then again…I just listened to it…some of the lyrics referring to 14 years COULD have been Axl referring to his childhood…

Ya know…I really don’t know actually. There are parts of it that sound like lyrics Izzy could’ve written about Axl too. At that point in time, they’d definitely known each other for fourteen years. That’s the duration of their friendship to that point, if they met in high school.

Then 1987-1991…the part that goes ‘the last four years of madness sure put me straight’ could be referring to these years, the years since GNR became huge. If Axl wrote that about himself, it could be in reference to Izzy somehow. I feel like their ‘friendship’ was a tumultuous one. Or Izzy could’ve written that about Axl…it’s a puzzle, isn’t it?

I need books written by both Axl and Izzy. The silence needs to be broken lol. I have a feeling neither one of them will write a word until the other of them is dead and gone tho.

Hi Shells, how you doing?

Hello, darling. How are you? I’m fine. We’re snowed in down here in Memphis, lol. We got about 8 inches of snow. It’s very pretty but I have no interest in getting out in it. And supposed to get more bad weather coming in tomorrow. Also very, very cold.

I’ve become obsessed with Green Day and Billie Joe Armstrong lately. He’s so gorgeous. His eyes are such a magnificent shade of green omg. I think that if he looked at me, I would just melt then and there. Sorry, Izzy. You may just have to share me, babe. 😆🤷🏻‍♀️

I grew up listening to GD, but just recently rediscovered them. Now I think they’ve become one of my favorite bands. Very talented guys. Tré Cool is a beast on drums—one of the best, I’d say. Especially in the punk genre. Mike Dirnt is one of the best bassists. Green Day songs have some killer bass lines. I used to play bass so I always notice those fly bass grooves lol.

Been watching lots of live GD concerts on YouTube also. They are one of the best bands I’ve ever heard LIVE. And I love how good they are to their fans. Billie really knows how to work a crowd. He pulls one or two fans from the crowd at every concert onto the stage. Either to sing with him or play the guitar. Sometimes he lets the fan keep the guitar, which I think is so DOPE omg. Can you imagine?!

Anyway. That’s my life in a nutshell these days. Green Day and tons of snow. 😂

Hey, Sis,

So, I've been thinking about putting together a bucket list. I had one a long time ago and my ex saw it and helped me to cross some of those off. He took me horseback riding for my birthday. Of course, we didn't have a guide and we needed one cause the horses knew we didn't know what we were doing and mine stopped to eat grass and i told him to go and he tried to buck me off. Needless to say, we had to change horses. But that was cool. I'd like to do it in a situation where I had a guide, or someone could teach me a thing or two first.

He took me to The Grand Canyon. We didn't get to stay long but I definitely saw it. Well, part of it, lol. I definitely want to go back and see a different part or look at it a bit longer. And he helped me with a few others.

Anyway, I had been thinking about this - before I even met you and learned of your love of cherries - but I have ALWAYS wanted to try Cherries Jubilee. I mean, always. I absolutely LOVE Bananas Foster - it is my all-time favorite dessert. We have a Cajun restaurant here that makes it, but it's mostly ice cream, lol. I've had it once where there was a lot more banana and a lot more Foster and that was good too. But I am putting Cherries Jubilee on my list. I know of no one who serves it. So ... I will probably only get it if I ever go on a cruise that offers it, or I make it. But I'm going to work it out.

That leads me to going on a cruise. But it has to be the right one to the right place, because I am not rich. I am not married to Izzy Stradlin unfortunately. I will get to go on one cruise. And really, did he ever have to go on a cruise? I mean, he probably had a yacht chartered once or twice. What am I saying? Probably a lot of times. I think he once performed at a wedding in St. Tropez and another one in Spain, so ... I digress. Sorry.

(I didn't go on the 8th grade trip - sure wish I had cause it would have been much cheaper with the whole student discount/8th grade program the government works out with the schools. Did you go on it?)

Hmmm ... a couple I will not share here, lol. But I still think they are very necessary and worthwhile endeavors!

So, these are not goals, but just things to check off.

Have you done any or all of the things on my bucket list above? Have you had Cherries Jubilee, and if so, where?! Actually, I'm pretty sure you've been to Graceland - and I know you have been to Memphis. Just unsure of the rest!

I have done three of the things on your bucket list: Graceland twice, two cruises, and Washington DC.

The DC trip was my 8th grade class trip. I would love to go back now because I feel like I didn’t appreciate it as much back then as I would now. 

I have been to GL twice, once when I was 17 and another time probably about 9 or 10 years ago with Eric. Of course, I’ve been to Memphis, I’m still here. 😆

One cruise was when I was 8. My mom and stepdad took my sister (who was 18 at the time) and her boyfriend and me on the Disney cruise/Bahamas for my sister’s graduation present. I got a cruise for MY grad present too, but ours was a bit different: a three day cruise to the Bahamas (on a smaller cruise ship, where I was seasick the first night), then 4 days in Orlando for all things Disney. Just me, my mom, and my 6 month preggo sister. Fun fact about the Disney cruise when I was 8: they thought it would be funny to feed me escargot, so they ordered me a dish, told me it was PORK, and I loved it so much, they ordered me a second dish. I did not find out until much later that escargot = SNAILS lol. I was not as grossed out as I probably should’ve been, and I’ve had it a few times since then. I still love it. Go figure.

I have also had caviar. I love that too. Goes great with smoked salmon and cream cheese on some fancy ass crackers.

Never had cherries jubilee, but it sounds yummy.

The R&RHOF would be fun. I love doing that kind of shit.
