Very quick Invert-searching session before leaving home and stuff 🪲🪲
I have my camera battery fully charged and I'm as bored as a crab inside a can so why not
so first find.. I found a fly! I thought it'll just going to go downhill from there (no bugs but fly for a straight five minutes???) but no, the world is full of bugs :]
Tumblr media
The day was very windy so the bugs should settle to the leaves and then I just.. squatted and stared at the grass patch really hard but hey the effort payed off because I found THE SLENDER SKIMMER!! my second favourite dragonfly probably.. I just love green honestly (very common species) and a cute paddy bug.. they're very movey
Tumblr media Tumblr media
good good.. also I saw a butterfly just fly from leaf to leaf which means it's laying eggs, I got closer to the tree and it stayed still.. I'm very very happy at that moment and found not only one, but TWO chocolate pansy laying eggs in one tree!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and oh oh oh when I went back to the patch of grassland I saw a very badly eaten plant, I really thought maybe a cat(erpillar) is eating it but no I just found this little guy.. wadda hec
Tumblr media
yadda yadda hey! at least i found not one but TWO spiders.. one which I think is garden spider and the other one a golden orbweaver!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
OH AND HERE COMES THE COOL PART!! I FOUND A MOTH THAT DIDNT LOOK LIKE A MOTH I THINK ITS ONE OF THOSE PYRALOIDEA (I can only spot it because it flew before it landed if not I probably wont notice it for the rest of my life AND EVEN AFTER I BUDGE IT A BIT IT WONT MOVE.. SO STUBBORN) JUST LOOK:
Tumblr media
What even is that?? There's no moth?? NO THERE IS IF YOU LOOK MORE CLOSELY..
Tumblr media
GOD IT'S A SUPER TINY MOTH... but there's one more thing universe apparently really liked me that day probably.. IT'S THE SLENDER SKIMMER FROM A WHILE BACK!
Tumblr media
heckin crazy this is the clearest photograph of a dragonfly I ever took freaking nice way to end the adventure because I won't be seeing any bugs for one day straight after that.. STILL GOOD.
So conclusion: anytime is good time to search for bugs.. thank u.

Do you have any coloring tutorials or would you be willing to make one? Your coloring is always out of this world idk how you do it but it's amazing!!
is anyone really interested in how i colour? stappp let me just sksksksksksksksk, this is soooo fucking nice to hear omg. thank you nony so much💕
okay, i don’t have a tutorial to give you since i’m literally yoloing my life through colouring. i mean, it’s mostly me choosing randomly depending on my mood and how dark i want things to be because, if there’s one thing i prefer is dark, gloomy, noisy and film photography inspired pictures. i do use adobe lightroom for it. that’s the one i found myself most comfortable with, the free version btw. there’s some other free apps you could use, like snapseed, but i find this one better. it’s also quite easy for someone like me, with zero experience. there’s many options within the app too, the only way you can understand how you like things it’s testing, trying to see what style you might enjoy more. i can’t give you much explanation on how each function works as i, myself, am a beginner. i haven’t looked up any tutorials so everything you see on my edits is just me clicking and figuring things out as i go. my advice for you is to do the same, click on everything, go to the extremes on each side of the app, try everything out. lightroom allows you to click on the picture to see a before and after each edit you make, so that might help you on your journey. also, put things on 0 to 100, i mean, if you’re confused and don’t see any difference that could help you.
so, for example, my last the eclipse, episode vii edit — i chose this still randomly. for this show i’m mostly using the default vintage 6 on the lightroom app. then i changed everything according to how light the still is or how dark it is originally. also, the app allows you to edit one picture and copy paste everything onto the others so you don’t have to do it one by one, which makes everything a lot easier and faster.
Tumblr media
BEFORE AND AFTER some scenes, even if they’re in 1080p, the quality doesn’t turn out that good when you screenshot them (at least for me), so one of the reasons i love my grainy, noise option is for this exact reason. it makes things look less shitty and they give off the vibes i’m looking for. sometimes, some stills help with their natural lighting, some others makes my life a bit harder because they’re quite dark already so i need to balance it all out with the exposure, the shadows and highlights, otherwise you can’t see anything. it’s mostly a game of “how dark and dramatic can i still make this and make it look good?” for me.
for instance, colouring some kinnporsche scenes were a nightmare, now i can’t remember which ones gave me a headache though. take for example this Pete scene from episode x instead of the default vintage 6, i used vintage 7. that’s basically all i used for kinnporsche after episode iii, i think. i tend to use more the “vintage” default pack within the program because it gives the vibes i want. sometimes i use the “artistic” one too, but that’s mostly in singular edits, not for shows i keep up from beginning to the very end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
COLOURING so, idk how much helpful this can be for you nony but that’s mostly it. i decide everything when i’m on the app testing everything out. most of the time the first frame i choose decides the colouring for the next ones. the only time the last frame decided the colouring was the eclipse episode vii. i edited the last frame first then applied everything to the other ones. sometimes though, some colouring works for some scenes better than they do others so i need to individually change whatever made that scene impossible to see. to give you a example, sometimes the colour is too red so the temperature or the saturation, sometimes it’s the shadows or the vibrance. i do also touch on the colour mix and colour grading but, again, totally preference here. keeping the eclipse example, these are my setting on lightroom:

PHOTO MANIPULATION
BY MANVIR SINGH GILL (101149538)
This photo was taken on June 2, 2019 on iPhone 11 Pro and edited on Snapseed software. I edited these photos to fix all the issues and to make the picture look better. I adjusted some colors, added filters and cropped unwanted objects.
The Kajama (Ship photo)
Tumblr media
Before
Tumblr media
After
This photo was taken at Trillium Park in the evening which shows beautiful combination of a ship and airplane with a background of sunset sky and sea.
o   Cropped the image as needed
è I removed all the unnecessary objects which were spoiling the image.
o   Increased Brightness by +12
è I made this change to decrease the darkness and dullness in the picture.
o   Increased contrast by +19
è I made this to highlight the ship and the airplane and differentiate them from the background. Contrast helps to differentiate brightness between objects and regions.
o   Increased sharpness by +6
è It helped to make the dark objects darker and the bright objects brighter. It helped to make the corners look better.
o   Added vibrance by 40%
è I added vibrance to increase the intensity of the muted colors. It helped to give a pink color touch to the sky.
o   Added saturation by 15%
è I added the saturation to make the picture more vivid.
o   Increased softness by +20
è I increased the softness to make the water look a little bit blurry.
This photo was taken on June 20, 2019 on a Nikon DS-160 camera in an aperture priority mode which also helps to automatically adjust the shutter speed and iPhone editor was used to edit this picture.
Lonely Bird (Bird photo)
Tumblr media
Before
Tumblr media
After
This photo was taken at Lakeshore when a bird was sitting alone on a lamp on a pleasant evening.
o   Decreased the exposure by -20
è This change was made to make the picture a little bit darker and look calm.
o   Decreased the brightness by -60
è The brightness was too high in the original picture. To balance it and to make the picture look better, brightness was decreased.
o   Decreased the black point by -68
è Black point was decreased to make the photo look less muddy and to remove any kind of shadows.
o   Increased the saturation by 14%
è Saturation was increased to make the dull colors more colorful.
o   Decreased the tint by -40
è Tint was decreased to add better color on the sky and the buildings in the background.
o   Increased the sharpness by+14
è This was increased to give more light to the lamp light and the bird to increase the focus.
Will the edited image confuse or miss guide the audience if they can’t see the originals?
As photography is an art; editing, redesigning and giving a new meaning to the photo is also an art. Sometimes, photo editing is important to achieve a particular expected image. Some photo editing can completely change the true meaning of the photograph and confuse the audience whereas in some cases editing just make a particular picture better looking and more understandable.
The pictures which I have clicked and edited can confuse the audience and miss guide them if they don't see the originals because the sky colour in both of the photos are very different. Also I have cropped the image and removed some objects. I made that change to make the sky look better but it might give a wrong message to audience about the beauty of the sky if they don't see the original picture.
Can your edited or unedited images be used as press photographs? Please elaborate why you think they can or can't be used by news media?
Press photograph is the pictures clicked by press photographers or the pictures that can be used in news, media or to show real life events. Photography has the whole way of thinking and giving messages to the general public. Photographs can be used to teach and make someone learn about a specific person or time.
My edited pictures cannot be used as press photographs because I have cropped the image and removed some objects which might misguide the audience. The press photography has a code of ethics and principles such as timeliness, accuracy, fair representation of the context of events and facts reported and accountability to the public. Removing objects is forfeiting the principle of rules.
The unedited pictures can be used  in press media as, it won't misguide the audience as in the unedited pictures, I haven't cropped or removed any objects.
What are the main differences between art and press photography?
Art photographs are created from an artist’s creative point of view. These photos are clicked with freedom. It helps to depict an artist’s skills and creativity.
On the other hand, press photography are photographs clicked by the press journalists to use in media, news or documentary. This photography is done with the prospective of clicking the pictures to tell a story or to convey something. There are some general rules and code of ethics which the photojournalists have to follow. They must not alter their pictures because they have to show the facts about the events to the general public. Photojournalism distinguishes itself by following principles of journalism which are timeliness, accuracy, fair representation of the context of events and facts reported, and accountability to the public.
