Very quick Invert-searching session before leaving home and stuff 🪲🪲

I have my camera battery fully charged and I'm as bored as a crab inside a can so why not

so first find.. I found a fly! I thought it'll just going to go downhill from there (no bugs but fly for a straight five minutes???) but no, the world is full of bugs :]

The day was very windy so the bugs should settle to the leaves and then I just.. squatted and stared at the grass patch really hard but hey the effort payed off because I found THE SLENDER SKIMMER!! my second favourite dragonfly probably.. I just love green honestly (very common species) and a cute paddy bug.. they're very movey

good good.. also I saw a butterfly just fly from leaf to leaf which means it's laying eggs, I got closer to the tree and it stayed still.. I'm very very happy at that moment and found not only one, but TWO chocolate pansy laying eggs in one tree!!

and oh oh oh when I went back to the patch of grassland I saw a very badly eaten plant, I really thought maybe a cat(erpillar) is eating it but no I just found this little guy.. wadda hec

yadda yadda hey! at least i found not one but TWO spiders.. one which I think is garden spider and the other one a golden orbweaver!!

OH AND HERE COMES THE COOL PART!! I FOUND A MOTH THAT DIDNT LOOK LIKE A MOTH I THINK ITS ONE OF THOSE PYRALOIDEA (I can only spot it because it flew before it landed if not I probably wont notice it for the rest of my life AND EVEN AFTER I BUDGE IT A BIT IT WONT MOVE.. SO STUBBORN) JUST LOOK:

What even is that?? There's no moth?? NO THERE IS IF YOU LOOK MORE CLOSELY..

GOD IT'S A SUPER TINY MOTH... but there's one more thing universe apparently really liked me that day probably.. IT'S THE SLENDER SKIMMER FROM A WHILE BACK!

heckin crazy this is the clearest photograph of a dragonfly I ever took freaking nice way to end the adventure because I won't be seeing any bugs for one day straight after that.. STILL GOOD.

So conclusion: anytime is good time to search for bugs.. thank u.

Merdeka Eve 2013 at Marini's on 57

I performed last year with The Union on August 30th 2013 at a private function at Marini’s 57, which is situated at Level 57, Menara 3 Petronas, Kuala Lumpur. It’s a pretty cool place to hang out for food and drinks and also to hold a private party, although I must say you would need deep pockets with loads of cash to do that! Got a new toy. I don't know how to use it yet. It didn't like the BRIGHT snow so I only got a couple usable photos.

I used to shoot film so I have some understanding of photography but this camera has a lot more settings than my ancient Minoltas.

Canon EOS 550D so it's older and pretty basic but I really don't need all the bells and whistles, especially since I have a high chance of breaking it due to my activities.

🤩 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: pirates016 Hello everyone! It's time to direct the spotlight toward our community members, and today we will get to know better pirates016!

"Hello AFOLs, my name is Grégory and I'm from France.

I was a huge LEGO fan during the 90's. I've collected pirates theme but mostly city with trains. I also was a Star Wars fan and I've built MOCs of it, because there were no official LEGO sets at that time.

Four years ago my kids started to play with LEGO and when I saw my old Eldorado Fortress and Caribbean Clipper the flame reignited in me. At that time there was the new pirates of barracuda bay so I knew I have to build it. With this set I discovered so many new LEGO parts and building techniques that it was the beginning of a new era for me after 25 years of dark age.

My collection was growing but I was sad to see all these sets taking dust on my shelf after building them. It was at this point that I decided to make LEGO photo because it was kind of a new way to play with it.

I started my instagram account three years ago to share my love for pirates theme. Unfortunately I was a newbie in photography (and still I am ) and I began to learn some photo techniques with youtube videos and following account on instagram, like Brickcentral.

At the beginning, the easiest way to progress was to snap outdoors photos because it needs no set up or materials. On the other side, I couldn't shoot all my sets outside so I began to try studio photoshoot, which was more difficult for me because I had to learn how to use lights.

Talking about gear, I'm shooting with a Canon 550D and to light my scene I normally use a LED ring, a lume cube or a small LED kit.

To create my scenes I always use very basics products, like wood, tree moss, sand and printed wallpaper for the background. My goal is to recreate natural scene and so I want to use what I can find in nature."

Sure you answered before but what’s your camera setup? Your photos are amazing!

You're the first one to ask! All of the photos I've posted so far (save for my last photography post) were taken on my Canon EOS 550D with a 18-135mm lens. I only started using it in May and have gone out to used it in June and July now that I'm working a job, so most of my best photos are among the thousands I've taken on my Samsung Galaxy A52s. I'll start posting them in due time. I use Lightroom and Darktable for editing the pictures taken on my Canon.
