my manger guy told me to dust some desk legs yesterday (as you may recall) and he just came by to tell me basically i did a bad job LOL

Sorry i think i am in fact getting into my frustrations w the Harley comics I've read so far 👍

So the patterns I've noticed is that ERM. No one writes her the same. Which is understandable bc they change writers 1 billion times. But for me it's very frustrating to see people just like??? Not even trying to understand her. For example, the one I'm reading right now has her just acting really ditzy and kind of like?? Women sure love shopping. And that's her entire character in this other than occasionally super evil. Which I feel is incredibly weird for a character that they paint as super smart and super high IQ in some comics and then like wow she's just sooo stupid and obsessed w the joker and that's her entire character. It's incredibly weird to me to see how they. Well sure handled her backstory in a way during some of the earlier comics (esp the self titled one that came out in the year 2000) in the way that they decided to make her sleep her way through college despite again. Being very smart and not really needing to do this. However comma i do not expect more from DC with what they did about Catwoman's backstory (very horrible towards sex workers). Like it shouldn't be surprising that the original animated series that she was made for understood her the best in terms of making her a more balanced character but it's also incredibly frustrating to see how every comic just gets it worse and worse. They never handle her mental illness well outside of being like guys she's so scary bc she's mentally ill and a (insert 1 billion ableist terms here). And it's just absolutely the worst thing when they try and make her relationship with the joker be a aww they're sooo sweet thing. Like i feel 99% of the writers that pull this move don't even consider how genuinely abusive he is to her or are like yeah it's funny tho. Anyways um my god i would not recommend like 99% of the ones I've read so far 👍

just saw my cat again, i keep talking about it but w/e. Her eye looked reallly scabby and bad but after I wiped it off and held a warm compress on her face for a minute or two it looked.... *better*, luckily it doesn't look like there's any kind of infection, there's swelling but the skin underneath isn't discolored and there's no sores just scratches. I think her ear might be irritated still (i probably didnt apply her ear medicine right the first time cuz its.... ear medicine and shes squirmy) and I'm starting the ear meds again. I have a vet appt Tuesday, I don't think itll clear up by then but I'll have been giving Frisk the meds for a few days so we can see if it looks not as bad by then.

the Haunting of Bly Manor...disappointing

#ugh I really enjoyed about the first half and then...it lost all ambiguity #like you didn't have to spell everything out so pedantically #and the last two episodes were soooooooo slow #and idk like. the whole possession mechanics really didn't work for me #and all of the storylines and themes just didn't tie up cohesively #and it's all the more frustrating because there were some really good moments and ideas #but the whole was just less than the sum of its parts

Stella is no longer happy that i stayed home from work to hang out with her today (i stole all her fur)

Stupid fucking google docs won’t let me download pdfs properly. I keep downloading them and the formatting is different from that of the document!!! Why!!!?!?!?!????? I don’t want the last line of a table to go to the next page, I want it to stay on the fucking page it’s on in the document I’ve made!!!!!! And I cannot find any solution for this because all the problems being described in things aren’t the one I’m having!!!!!!! Augh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this meeting is always an excruciating exercise in people getting a platform and immediately using it to air personal grievances and extrapolate that one bad experience with one person in a system means everyone and everything involved is irredeemably bad

#it's essentially like 'a therapist was shitty to me -> all therapists are evil' #that experience is entirely valid and i understand their mistrust #i have had similar experiences! #and there are many legitimate problems with systems that we should work to fix! #and also it's constantly assuming the worst possible of everyone involved and that's just soooooooo #it's not even about me or my work it's just so frustrating to watch every single month #because there's no room for movement on this. saying the whole system is corrupt - even when it is! - makes it difficult to problem solve
