On the fortnight music video interpretation, when I first watched it I thought the ending was pretty clear that she became a Muse to Post's character. Like, she's lonely at top of the booth (honestly sort of looking like a greek statue) and Post comes out of the booth and reachs out his hand to her and lowers his head as if in prayer. In that sense, I think the tattoos are a mark of a tortured poet, and that's why she sees it in herself at the star while she's locked, and why there isn't any in the 'dream sequence' (lets call it that lol) because in her imagination that's a version of life where they are perfectly happy and therefore aren't tortured poets anymore. However, just like the title card, they are misaligned, I think the point of the video is that she wanted true companionship and Post's character wanted an object of inspiration - that's why he's seen with the scientists, studying her.
