"I'm not afraid of Heta [...] But you don't say 'no' to Heta. You don't walk away... I don't know if I want to walk away..."
— Sa'har Kateen, 'Chains In The Dark'
I really enjoyed this update even though there wasn't that much going on storywise but the more down to earth things finally gave the non-force sensitive classes the time to shine because it sure as hell feels weird to ask around town for some smuggler guy as a sith lord/jedi xD
Not sure if I 100% buy the Sahar story because in Old Wounds Heta did say that noone would know her full plan, so it could be a ruse
Guess we'll see in the next update which will finally bring some answers it seems
Managed to solo FR3-D0M (Kessan’s Landing World Boss) 🤘
Did it on Arsenal merc, with a ranged healing companion (influence 50). Tips for anyone who would like to try it themself:
Maneuverability is key, so bringing something that has to stand still to cast is gonna get you killed - make sure you either already have instant or quick abilities, or that you will not take long to have abilities proc’d for instant-cast/have a tactical that that turns your class into a one-button killing-machine
The boss’s health isn’t really all that high when you compare it to yours, and all of the mechanics can be avoided, so it’s really just a matter of learning its telegraphs and positioning yourself to avoid damage
A ranged companion is probably less likely to take damage and get themself killed, provided that you don’t accidentally get them killed with an oopsie-whoopsie
The mechanics are as follows:
Flamethrower - the boss will put a big red triangle on the ground that the person being targeted has a few seconds to step out of before it turns into Fire (can be hard to make sure your companion isn’t clipped by the first one, but pretty easy to keep them behind or to the side of the boss the rest of the time).
Missiles - a few random people in the fight (pretty sure it scales with the number of people in the boss’s proximity) will be targeted by three missile blasts. These are each a pair of red concentric circles on the ground, and you have until the inner circle grows to the size of the outer circle to move out or be hit. Don’t run like crazy, just step out of them carefully so you don’t drop the next one on your companion, who will not move out of it.
Don’t remember what it’s called, but every now and then, the boss grapples over to the person who has threat and then puts a big red rectangle on the ground. You have a second or two to get out of that, and the easiest thing to do is to just step behind the boss (when he first gets to you, you can’t move).
Plasma Ring - the last mechanic is a large red circle that moves with you, and you have a couple seconds before it drops blue plasma on the ground, which you need to get out of. Make sure you don’t drop the plasma on your companion (and that you’re not moving out of your companion’s range when you try to walk the circle away from your companion to begin with, or they’ll jump over to you and end up in it anyway)
Once you’ve hit Plasma Ring, you’ll soon be in burn, and you can have all four mechanics going at the same time, so the quicker you kill the boss, the better. None of the attacks stay on the ground long, so it’s just a matter of being aware of where your companion is so you can keep them out of stupid and they can keep you alive.
here i come several days later with my opinions on the last swtor update. undercut for spoilers
it started strong but lost me a little after you actually get to kessans landing
the opening on port nowhere was fun!
the envirnments rly cool tho!
im... not really sure what they were going for with petra? like shes just very suddenly force sensitive it seems? idk. then she ducked out when the camera wasnt on her and that... doesnt seem like its going anywhere i guess
what was rly sticking with me was... at the very start, as an imp side character, they make a point on how you'll need to avoid attention bc, obviously if anyone noticed an imperial bigshot just wandering around a republic planet, well. you wouldnt be able to get much done before things got complicated
(sidenote: omggg hiiiii that one guy from the sith inquisitor prologue!! hello!!! you still suck!)
BUT THEN by the end theyre talking abt how "ooh ppl seeing an IMPERIAL helping them will exacerbate their resentment to the republic and maybe make them open to joining us! and word will spread!"
which.... isnt that exactly the opposite of what we want?? if word spreads the republic military will come running straight for us? wasnt that the whole point of why we had to seek out that corrupt politician?
not to mention as someone playing a saboteur. getting a planet to potentially secede from the republic and join the empire is. not ideal?
(not that ive been very impressed by the saboteur options we've had so far. but man. we couldnt even shoot jonas a message like "hey by the way the empire has apparently been up to some Shit on ord mantell for years. might want to try and stop that)
also if you take tyrus prisoner, why do we then give him to the empire?? wouldnt it make more sense to give him to the mandalorians?
the vod relationship between rass and jekiah is so nice to see
but where the hell is torian while this is happening he certainly wouldn't leave his champion alone but he does seem to holo call her before she signs off before her next mission so at least that's a thing but i would like to at least see it
i wouldn't call this a mandalorian turf war its much worse than that
