Pack you bags, book your trip and TAKE a HIKE with Frankie Shirey!

Does your sim need to get away from it all? Are they maybe trying to get over their failed marriage (like our main man here), or forget a relationship that shouldn't have happened? Maybe they're running from their tragic past, or seeking a cleansing experience to cure their raging alcoholism! Or maybe they just hecking love nature, or need a way to finish their frog collections in an organized environment. Whatever the reason, BACKPACKING ACROSS SIMNATION promises to bring together total strangers in rudimentary accommodations, where we all are forced to face the harsh yet freeing simplicity of camping.

MAX 7 PARTICIPANTS 🏕️ 🧭 No eliminations, we're all in this 'til the end 🧭 Romantic goal not guaranteed nor required, the challenge will go with the flow! Main focus on storytelling and building relationships and experiences!

• any gender, young adult, adult or elder • human only • rich backstory encouraged, family members/pets/household also welcome (they won't be part of the challenge, but they're free to roam to world) • can have skills, any level you want • please add likes and dislikes as much as you want • no alpha hair, clothes can be maxis mix • can have multiple outfits per category, but keep in mind that we're camping in the wilderness!

I use Wicked Whims, Lumpinou's Relationship & Pregnancy Overhaul Collection, Basemental drugs, so sim can have traits and other features based on them. (Such as wicked attributes, thoughts on kids etc.) Sliders and presets are fine! I have my own defaults so please don't include any override cc though!

Katie Hale for @kirsicca's Take a Hike Challenge!

Katie was raised by her two homesteader parents on a little ranch on the outskirts of Del Sol. Despite being an only child, and homeschooled, she wasn't secluded from the rest of the world but in fact very encouraged to engage with it. This, and a safe and loving home environment, created an open curiosity for everything, and everyone, around her as well as a cheerful and empathetic young woman. Despite her sense of adventure, Katie's never been outside Del Sol Valley, she even went to university in Del Sol (history student) and then promptly moved into a little apartment in the heart of Del Sol. Looking for a change, as well as an adventure, Katie has signed up for Backpacking Across Simnation in hopes of seeing and experiencing first hand what she's studied all about in her books!

Jamie Carpenter for Take a Hike with Frankie Shirey by @kirsicca!

Growing up in a conservative small town, Jamie always found refuge from his stifling surroundings in music. Finally, he was able to escape for real and spent most of his 20s trying to make it work as a singer-songwriter in San Myshuno. As much as he loves the craft, constantly grinding to make a living as an independent musician has started taking a toll. But his identity has been tied to music for so long he's not sure who he is without it. A year ago, he gave up his hole-in-the-wall apartment and has since become an aimless wanderer, drifting from a hostel in Windenburg to a campground in Henford-on-Bagley to a friend's lumpy sofa in Del Sol Valley. He's certain that if he just keeps moving he'll eventually stumble upon where the next chapter of his life is meant to unfold.

I love the idea behind this challenge (seriously, everyone should submit because it looks so fun!) and was sad I didn't have time to make a whole new Sim for it. But then I remembered I've had this guy sitting in my library for the past year, and I actually think he's the perfect candidate! He's somewhat based on an OC of mine, but since I don't have immediate plans to do anything with him, I thought it'd be fun to send him off on an adventure and see what happens. He's got likes/dislikes, several skills, and a variety of outfits, most of which I hope are or can easily be made suitable for camping. Enjoy! :)

Loves the Outdoors | Party Animal | Green Fiend

Asher has lived a life of privilege, growing up as the first grandchild in an old money family. He lived an idyllic childhood - wanting for nothing and encouraged by his supportive parents to pursue anything he found interesting. Time spent fishing with his father at the private family lake led to a life-long affection for nature. He joined Scouts as soon as he was able, even leading a unit for a while in high school. Once Asher's unruly younger brother was old enough to attend high school with him, his focus shifted. Weekends once spent camping in the woods turned into "chaperoning" at parties and keeping his brother out of trouble. Not that Asher minded too much, he learned to appreciate a keg stand or two, and it led to hosting some killer parties his senior year. Right out of high school, he used part of his trust fund to purchase a small farm outside of Henford-on-Bagley to take up homesteading. He planned to enjoy some peace after his streak of partying, but after only a few months he felt unsettled. It felt like something was missing in his life even with the periodic trips home to visit his family. His father suggested they go camping together in a spot that he used to love as a child, but Asher found an even better option: a backpacking trip. What better way to figure out who he was than to get away from everything he knows?

Asher is a spare in the 6th generation of my legacy save. He was the first infant I played after the update 😄

Marcella Vinca for @kirsicca's Take a Hike Challenge

Loves Outdoors, Geek, Adventurous

Marcella isn't like other girls. She likes sports, danger, and most importantly, video games, but that isn't why she's here. She's here because of what she craves most: experience. Proficient in skiing and rock-climbing, she knows signing up for this hike was right up her alley.

Background:

Marcella, along with her younger twin sister Cylene, was born in Del Sol Valley to a single mother. Her biological father is known but the family's connection with him severed when her mother rounded up Marcella and Cylene and moved to Brindleton Bay.

Although close with her sister, the two of them were different from the very beginning. Cylene was a girly-girl, liking make-up, dresses, and otherwise-traditional girly things, but Marcella was definitely a tomboy. She loved sports and never minded getting her hands dirty when playing outside in the marshes by her Brindleton Bay home.

As a teenager Marcella was heavily involved in Scouts, earning all 9 badges and leaving the troop as a Unicorn Scout. She still holds her experience near and dear to this day.

She now lives in Mt. Komorebi and works as a salaryperson, but when she's not at work you'll find her right on the slopes, doing leaps and somersaults on the black diamond hill. She even has the achievement of having reached the summit of Mt. Komorebi

(Marcella is my gen 3 heir of my personal NSB legacy [I don't share it on simblr bc I only play it very sporadically]. I'm finished with her gen but when I saw this challenge I knew I needed to submit her. Her color in the NSB is spring green, so all of her outfits will have some level of green lol. So excited to participate!)
