I find it very funny when my sister @lizzybugg gets so attached to the characters I draw

She saw Harley and she was like, "Aw he's so cute! Just an innocent little baby who wouldn't hurt a fly!"

It reminds me of when she got weirdly attached to the character from my book (that I haven't written yet) named Virgil, and yeah she's funny that way.

So! Guess it’s time to officially announce the book I’m writing! It’s far from done but I’m excited and can’t wait to talk about it.

It’s called Tales of Esparia and it’s a fantasy/adventure book with a highly fleshed out magic system that I’ve been working on since I was thirteen. It has bits and pieces of Arthurian legend and lore! This is gonna be fun 👀

Naturally it wouldn’t be a Honey Post without some art so here we go!

Rynadel Estelar is our main protagonist! Cursed from birth with dark magic, he was given to a powerful wizard as an apprentice in hopes proper training would keep that darkness at bay. He doesn’t have many friends, but the ones he did find are in the crown prince of Esparia, Kaden, and an avian anape girl, Elavara. Once their adventure begins, they find two more friends in a boy named Virgil, and a pixie named Cera.

Prince Kaden Ettethi is young and inexperienced, preferring pranks and ditching his lessons with his father in favor of dragging his best friend Rynadel into mischief. Despite his playful and uncaring demeanor, he truly loves and cares for his friends and would do anything to protect them. He’s a great swordsman and a natural protector and he has the heart of a true leader. He’s going to be a great king one day.

Elavara Arili is a sarcastic but caring young woman who gets into just as much trouble as Kaden does. Best friends since childhood with the young prince, Kaden and Elavara are an inseparable duo who would do anything for eachother. As an anape (which is an original species I made for this world. They’re really cool), Elavara faces scrutiny from the people of Esparia. Her people are shape-shifters, seen as dishonest and untrustworthy tricksters who seek destruction. Kaden, never one to judge based on appearances, befriended her when they were young and they’ve been best friends ever since. Rynadel has the only brain cell among this friend group.

Virgil Amuri is an archer from an outlier village in Esparia. He joined the group when his village was destroyed and his family killed by the monster trying to destroy the world. He may not have magic, or be able to shape-shift, but he’s a keen shot. He’s sworn revenge on the sorcerer Orion and promises to avenge his family’s death.

Cera Istaric is a pixie who was tagging along with Virgil for some good old mischief and adventure. But when she met the others, she came to really and truly care for the group. She specializes in illusion magic, tricking her enemies into seeing things that aren’t really there.

And finally! Merlin the wizard. While appearing as a middle aged man, he’s actually thousands of years old. He took Rynadel in when he was young, seeing his potential for magic. While his home lies in Camelot, and his loyalties with Arthur, he’s staying in Esparia for an indeterminate amount of time as a favor for King Elrick. Over their years together as mentor and apprentice, Merlin came to care for Rynadel a great deal. Eventually he would need to charge the boy with a single mission on the day Orion attacked Esparia. Protecting Kaden with his life.
