10. i would definitely change some things about amiya's characterization! ive been planning on editing it actually dsfjkhsh. i think i would also change the ending a little bit and make the fic longer, with more scenes and plot beats.

1. i wanted to write a fic for you, and you seemed to really like mephiami! so i was thinking about what would be a good premise for them and tbh when i try to push two characters i always want to end up making them stuck together in some way,, and i loved the idea of mephi viewing amiya as his savior and all of the complications that would arise from that.

a lot of the general prose and setting and everything is inspired by ur works! they all have a certain feel to them and i was thinking ab them when i wrote them. they're all so wonderfully mysterious and descriptive

when the dust settles:

JDHNKJDFHNKDFG,, UHH,, i don't feel that bad about spoiling it bc ppl can find the wip if they look thru my twt/tumblr. it's just an au where faust and mephi never met. faust gets involved with the other homeless infected kids, and eventually they betray him. he gets involved with other gangs and shady places, which leads to the main story. if i ever decide to pick the fic up again, then the plot leads to eventually confronting them and faust and mephi growing closer.

mephi's life meanwhile was kinda just a quest to die but getting stopped by his own artst/later talu. when lungmen happens he's ecstatic because talu doesn't need him anymore, but faust manages to stop him. and then they run off tgt

8. The fic title is actually a song lyric on it's own! it's from "I Miss Myself" by NOTD and HRVY. the chorus of it goes like this:

I miss myself; the one I was before I found you Who am I now? Who am I now, when I'm without you?

1. on the faume discord server one of my friends started talking about a talfrost au! it was really interesting and i got really into the au and talfrost from that conversation shjkdsh. i brought up the idea of talu being able to touch frostie there, and i started thinking about a canonverse oneshot about the idea.

Ugh, I love TalFrost so much...

my favorite canon-divergent angle is that Everything Plays Out The Same Except FrostNova Survives

she never knew about Kaschey’s curse on Talulah (Alina is the only person who did), so Tal would still fall under his influence and the Reunion arc would largely remain tragic

the angst, the drama, the pathos, the extreme hurt/comfort that comes with both FrostNova and Talulah having to deal with the aftermath of Reunion’s downfall, of Yelena losing all her siblings and father, of Tal recognizing she abused/groomed/manipulated Eno, used him, Sasha, and Patriot and discarded them like chess pieces (not unlike a certain pre-amnesia Doctor...?)

if only Talulah had truly opened her heart to the people she said were family. To trust them as she trusted Alina. But she didn’t. Her heart remained closed. Frostnova couldn’t have hoped to touch it

and it doubly hurts if you interpret her feelings toward Tal to be one-sided and view the narrative that way. yes i know i’m delusional, i never claimed i wasn’t

Frostnova feeling guilty about not being there for Talulah when she needed someone. Talulah feeling guilty AND responsible for taking Yelena’s family away from her... 

what I'd give for long slowburn TalFrost where they have to reconcile very messy emotions after everything

how can Frostnova feel anything but contempt for the woman whose actions drove her father to his death? Why doesn't her faith waver? She SHOULD hate Talulah

and Talulah believes she is undeserving of forgiveness, because she's the cause of all this pain. No one can hate Talulah more than Talulah hates herself

imagine Doctor telling Talulah that FrostNova never blamed her and actually wanted her to be saved ;_;

what really gets me is that literally NOBODY except Alina knew about Kaschey’s curse. So Frostnova just watched as Talulah descended into darkness, but still somehow... never gave up on her? She knew it was no longer the same Talulah, but it never changed her mind? Even Patriot lost faith at some point!

maybe Patriot was right, and Yelena was naive. But is she? Yelena was a child slave who contracted Oripathy through forced labor and watched her parents and grandmother be executed before she was what... nine years old?

she never hated Talulah. She had every reason to. She could still remember the fire, the passion, the sincerity, the authenticity in Talulah’s eyes, from the first time they sat together and talked about a future for the Infected, to years later, after Talulah changed for the worse... I don’t know what you’d call it, but there’s no heterosexual explanation
