MY THOUGHTS ON TBB 2×07 "The Clone Conspiracy" & 2×08 "Truth and Consequences"

Let me start by saying that these episodes didn't go as I expected. I had a whole (not very clear) plot in my head that did not happen. At all. But I love them! It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time!

My thoughts and reactions are below the cut

2×07 "The Clone Conspiracy"

I gasped when I saw 79's. In a weird way, I was surprised that was still functioning, which is stupid. Of course, it's still open. The Empire is trying to rid of the Clones, but they're not gone yet, so they still need a place to get hammered. Now, more than ever, I think.

As these 2 clones talk (Cade and Slip, my beloveds), it hit me that that bar played a part in another conspiracy. Argh! 😩 The feels!! Why?! 😭

And I'm now headcanoning that this guy here is either Cade or Slip (probably, Cade since he was the one who had second thoughts first)

*sighs*

Anyway, let's continue…

It hurts so much watching the clones deal with all the crap the Empire makes them do. I just want to hug them and protect them at all cost.

As much as it hurts, I knew Cade wasn't going to live much longer. And my thought at that moment about the assassin was, "please, don't be Crosshair. Don't be you. PLEASE!!" And the scope didn't look like his but I was not sure until they showed the helmet. Of course, then the question was who the hell is that?

Wait! They're saying that Kamino fell because of a massive storm?!?!! that's the worst excuse ever! like, how not everybody automatically knows that it's a big fat lie?! Kamino? A planet used to horrible storms, so their building were made for resisting those. That Kamino?! Honestly, Rampart has absolutely no imagination or logical thought.

Of Course! It's about that recruitment bill 🙄

RIYO!!! WOOHOO!! THAT'S MY GIRL, FIGHTING FOR THE CLONES!! I'm so ecstatic to see her (I knew she would, since I saw that leaked pic of her with Rex and the boys) and it's so good to watch her doing what she does best.

(My Foxiyo shipping heart is wishing to see Fox too, or at least that she mentions him or something. Just a tiny hint. I know it won't happen but dreaming cost nothing)

Hmm… Rampart, I see trouble coming your way. The Emperor has no patience for failure, and you are on very thin ice. And how apparent is that you know absolutely nothing about Riyo if you think she'll be appeased so easily. Oh boy! Your end is near, I think… Unless you have a card up your sleeve, which I doubt. Oh, I'm going to enjoy watching you fall so much 😈

Harsh words from Riyo, but true. You're not getting any younger, my dears. You're getting older twice as fast, in fact. I think not only the clones are guilty of ignoring that fact. In real life and when you're young, you think that it won't happen to you, until one day you get up and say "oh Fuck" and you're old. The sad thing is that as things are going, the clones won't have enough time to enjoy life before that happens 😣

Be careful Riyo, Rampart is a snake. Actually, that's an insult to snakes. But the sentiment applies. Good thing you're not stupid and didn't believe a word he said.

Ooooooh! Bail, nice! The King of clandestine meetings. This reminds me of the fic I need to finish writing. Opps! 😅 I'm all for Organa-Riyo secret rebel meetings.

2×08 "Truth and Consequences"

Hey!! The boys! Finally! (Well, actually the previous ep was too good, and I missed them much less than I should have)

Well, I'm just saying that Hunter have a point. The last place they should put a foot on IS Coruscant. He's not wrong about that. BUT... also with Rex's expertise of going in and out of it without raising alarms should reduce the risks. And it's for a very good cause, so, go, go, go.

I love that Echo is ready to testify but, yep, that wouldn't go well. Deserters don't have much of credibility. Sorry Echo.

Riyo and Omega in the Senate reminds me of Padme and Ahsoka doing the same thing.

Wait! Shouldn't have Rampart recognize Omega? Sure, he can't even imagine CF99 is in Coruscant and Omega could be any girl, but like didn't he read the reports of every incident involving them? I'm sure in one of those says there's a girl, with Omega's description, among them. Or watched a surveillance footage, something, I don't know. Right? I mean, great that he doesn't recognize her, but it's weird.

Oh, poor my boy!! He's not having a good day. First, zapped when he bumped that machine and now dealing with his fear of heights. I must say that Wrecker is braver than anyone. He doesn't let his fear stop him.

Told you Rampart! You're done (Altho, I thought he'd be around a bit longer, but his fall fits nicely with what I think it might be the rest of Crosshair's arc, so I'm ok with this. Of course, I wouldn't have complained if they had dragged Rampart's misery for a bit longer)

Ah, of course! I'm not even surprised that Palps spinned this to his favor anyway. I know clones are doomed no matter what they do. *Long-suffering sigh*

Wait, what? Echo? what? No!!! you can't leave 😭😭 I'm with Omega here 😭😭

I did not expect this to happen and, even if I don't like it, I get it. It's something Echo needs to do for himself. My only solace is that, happening now by mid-season, it almost certain that Echo will be back sooner than we think.

And I have very important questions after these episodes...

Crosshair, is he safe? Is he all right? Where is he?!!!
