“30 Years of Polaroids” presents a vivid cross-Section of Bruno Bisang’s Polaroid Archives
Bruno Bisang (born 1952 in Ascona, Switzerland) is a renowned Swiss fashion photographer. His photography has been seen in features of many international magazines, such as Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Max, GQ and Amica, and he has shot advertising campaigns for various major fashion and beauty labels, including Chanel, Wolford, Guerlain andGivenchy.
Once a simple tool to test lighting, angles, and moods, this format is now a relic of photography’s analog age — with its own unique qualities. Mottled surfaces and frayed corners anchor us firmly in the rough and tumble of the creative process. Designed to be disposable, every annotation and misstep is a part of cultural and artistic history. We sense a depth so lacking in today’s digital manipulation.
Page by page, readers witness the unfolding of Bisang’s vision. Featuring such stars as Naomi Campbell and Carla Bruni, this collection may just become a cult classic.

Photoshop for Photographers Information Photoshop for Photographers is a course created by Serge Ramelli, a professional photographer, educator, and author. The course is designed to teach photographers how to use Adobe Photoshop to enhance and retouch their photographs, taking them to the next level in terms of quality and visual appeal. I have just done my biggest course ever Photoshop for Photographer CC. This course will take you through all the basics of retouching raw files, HDR, Panoramas and Black and White photography. We will spend a lot of time on sky replacement and in addition I will give you as part of this course all my new skies (shot in super high resolution format) from all over the world. We will also look at how to remove anything, a lot of special effects and my full workflow for retouching the skin of a model shot in a studio, as well as retouching the skin of a regular guy. I tried to make each video about 5 to 10 minutes long, so you can just jump in on the one you need. Every example has some of my best photos from around the world. As usual I try to explain everything using simple words, baby steps and a lot of examples. This will take your photos to an entirely new level and is by far the course I'm the most proud of! What You’ll Get In This Course? 66 lessons Over 8 hours of training Raw source files Sky Backgrounds About Author In 2005 a friend of mine showed me what you can do with Photoshop and turned an ok portrait into a magazine cover. I was amazed, since my earliest childhood I wanted to create art, images and videos. What I like about it, is that all it took to create a great piece of art was a camera and a software, the rest was up to my skills and imagination. As a landscape and urban photographer I'm happy to say that today I have accomplished a few things that I'm proud of: My fine art photographies are being sold in one of the largest gallery networks in the world called Yellow Korner. They have have 85 galleries around the world. With the Publisher Teneues I have published a coffee table book on Paris and one on New York. The sales have been good all over the world. I host a Youtube Channel that has over 310 000 subscribers. Making it the number one channel on Lightroom in the world and number 4 on Photoshop and number 7 on photography in general. Metropolis (Alan Schaller)
Tumblr media
Metropolis is a series of black and white images that incorporates the modern world in order to convey its message. It was created by Alan Schaller and published in a book format in September of 2023. The work consists of modified and manipulated photographs of the modern world around us, with people often portrayed as shadowy figures within the illuminated architecture around them. These silhouettes are visible thanks to bright sources of light behind them, whether it be sunlight or ceiling lights, but often being one-directional lighting, creating streaks of light. Despite the obvious lighting, there is an overpowering darkness that swallows most of the images and outlines the important aspects of the artworks.
Schaller’s work aims to convey a metaphorical message to its audience; the distancing of social relationships within the real world. As he says, “It is a subject that impacts a vast majority of the world. People are substituting real relationships for digital ones. We are inherently social creatures after all, and the way we are getting lost in the online world and the big city life is hard to miss. These photographs are my interpretation of this disconnection.” The images in Schaller’s work are not as much literal as they are metaphorical as they are manipulated after all. There is no obvious message or text saying exactly what the pictures portray, but we can definitely see the message he was trying to tell us through what we can’t see. Faces are often in darkness; people are alone, distant from each other, and the outside world is in black and white; rather boring and unpleasant.
Looking at his work, we can identify multiple signs and key visuals within Schaller’s project: values, black and white, darkness, highlights, people in shadow, and social distancing. These key visuals are crucial to the understanding of the message this artist is trying to convey to us. His work represents the distancing of people and migration to the online world of social media, so the choice of visuals speaks his words loudly: the faces are in shadow; shows how we cannot see what’s past our screens and who truly is behind our online conversations, the appearance of a singular subject (sometimes multiple, but only one is highlighted); it shows the growing isolation of people; distant from the world around them, and the black and white aesthetic of his work, reflecting the dullness of the real world; how it’s perceived as depressing and sad in comparison to social media and the rest of the internet. These signs spread Schaller’s message of society getting lost in the online world very well as they aren’t too difficult to decode and easy to interpret.
Metropolis is a meaningful artwork produced by Alan Schaller which sends out a message of society’s drifting socialness into a colder and more distant behavior due to the influence of the online world and the growth of social media. It spreads its message through impactful visuals and distorted reality, utilizing values and prominent shadows to more clearly portray what it’s trying to tell us.

Roberto Bolle  An Athlete in Tights
by Bruce Weber

“Roberto Bolle: An Athlete In Tights” celebrates Bruce’s three-year collaboration with the Italian ballet sensation.
Roberto Bolle was born in Casale Monferrato, Italy. At a young age, he entered the Theatre La Scala ballet school. Rudolf Nureyev was the first to notice his talent and chose Roberto to interpret Tadzio in the ballet “Death in Venice.” In 1996, at the end of a Romeo and Juliet performance and just 2 years after he joined the Theatre Company, Roberto was promoted to principal by Elisabetta Terabust who was at that time the Director of the Corp de Ballet. Since then he has starred in many contemporary and classical ballets and he has been invited as a guest artist to work with the most prestigious ballet companies in the world. In recent years, his international acclaim has only grown. Roberto is now the first male Italian ballet dancer to join the American Ballet Theatre as a principal.
In this monograph, Bruce Weber captures the spectacular convergence of artistry and physicality in this dance phenomenon, the grace and beauty that have captivated Roberto’s audiences around the world.
The book is largely pictorial in nature, with original photography and writing by Bruce Weber, original writing by Roberto Bolle, text by D.H. Lawrence, Pier Paolo Pasolini, and illustrations by Paul Cadmus and Jeremiah Goodman.
