6 emilia, brant and dustin

6. Do they have any habits their partner finds annoying?Oh lord, yes. Dustin is an airhead even though he's really intelligent, so he says a lot of dumb shit sometimes and it gets on both Emilia and Brant's nerves. Emilia is waaaay more patient with it than Brant is. Brant will frequently get snarky or sarcastic in response, which in turn pisses Dustin off if he's feeling vulnerable. Dustin is also a super protector type person who white knights and rushes into danger to defend people, and it reeeeally annoys Emilia and Brant. This one annoys Emilia more tho. She gets really annoyed when he rushes into danger and especially when he blindly stands up for people. Before they really got to know Brant, Dustin was also super protective and would basically pick fights with him whenever he was near her, and that also pissed her off. (But that's also another can of worms because it's not like she hated it because she liked Brant.)Brant gets frustrated and annoyed very easily, but he doesn't actually get full on aggressive unless he's triggered. Still, though, he doesn't mind digging into people if they say or do things he thinks are stupid, which annoys Emilia. It's not one of his better qualities, and that really bothers her especially because she knows he's capable of being incredibly patient and kind. He's also...quite frankly...a smelly greasy teenage boy, more so than Dustin. He has acne and stays up all night playing video games and forgets to bathe, and that can be kind of gross to deal with. I'm sure he and Dustin will just like burp and fart in each others' company, and you'd think Emilia would be used to that given that she lived as a boy for so long, but most of her friends were actually girls and there was a weird perceived gender barrier there so none of them let their guards down that much around her, so she associates that behavior with the boy's locker room. And her foster brother, but that's also like. That's less weird because it was in the privacy of the room they shared.And...I don't know if there's any character traits of Emilia's that bother Brant or Dustin? It annoys Brant that she doesn't stand up for herself more and takes shit without fighting back, but he also understands why she does that, so it never really is a point of contention between them. And Dustin just... Both of them think the world of her, but Dustin in particular is in the "She can do no wrong" camp because it feeds into his savior complex. Which. Like. Is definitely something that will become an issue later on in their relationship, but for now while they're in their honeymoon high school phase doesn't cause much problems.The big thing with them is that they all act as buffers for each other. When Brant and Dustin butt heads, Emilia's there to reign them in. When Dustin is a bit of an ass, Brant's there to set him straight. When Brant is starting to lose his cool, Emilia's there to ground him. And both of them push Emilia to be more confident and more open, and Emilia in turn keeps them both from being big dumb idiots and getting themselves killed.

Unlike Rayen, he has the Gods’ blessings, and through special rituals he can gain the power to do some truly amazing thing, but at the expense of exhausting himself. Examples of that are things like opening portals to other parts of the universe at will, as well as hopping across different dimensions. Why Someone Might Love Them: Zandel is extremely loyal and dutiful. If he is close to you, you likely have a trusted friend for life. He protects those he loves without hesitation and will never leave the side of someone who needs him. He keeps a clam and patient exterior, even if that is not at all representative of what he’s really feeling. He’s also quite tolerant, and will accept people who have differing opinions from his own... as long as its not against one of his fundamental beliefs. Why Someone Might Hate Them: The way Zandel shows his affection is very minimal. More often than not, he simply doesn’t, and he can come off as stoic and cold. Getting through that exterior can be a chore and not deemed to be worthwhile. Also his duty to the Gods always takes precedence over anything else, so he can be gone for long periods of time. Often he loses track of how much time has passed, since the way he feels it is very different to someone who is mortal, so it may be many months or even years before he sees someone again. Sometimes he will sacrifice the needs of others for the needs of what he thinks is the “greater good” if he feels that is the best or only way to achieve something. He puts his duty even before himself, so he often neglects taking care of himself and can be a bit self-destructive. How They Change: Zandel started off as your usual rambunctious teenager, but quickly was thrown a curve ball when he learned he was the reincarnation of a powerful mage that came before him. It took him a long time to accept that duality and also the fact that he was immortal... so he had a long time to come to terms with it. Eventually, he worked out what he wanted to do with his endless life, and it was to clean up all of the terrible things that the Ethinians had inflicted on their universe, and he decided the best way to do that was to devote himself to his Gods. I think he’s emotionally pretty complex and has a lot of things I can relate to.

1, 12, 21 for the BJD50Q plz.

1. Have your tastes changed in sculpts over the years?

When I first got into the hobby, the only companies I was interested in were Doll Chateau and Fairyland. And with Fairyland, I was really only interested in the RealPuki sculpts. And now I’ve found that I really can’t bond with the sculpts I was interested in, so I shy away from them. I wouldn’t say that my tastes have changed much, only my buying habits.

12. Do you have a favourite clothing company where you go and buy clothing and/or shoes from?  

I don’t really have a favorite clothing company. I adore Dollmore, but they don’t have a super varied selection? They’ve mainly got all-black or all-white clothes and I don’t have a lot of characters that would wear the clothes they sell. I will say that my favorite clothes maker is starrshinedesigns! I just don’t have a lot of sculpts that will fit those clothes and I’m too lazy to take measurements and order something custom. (Which, honestly, I should do if I want to get pants for Brant.)

21. Are there a certain theme going style/face-up/accessory/other wise? Or are they all fairly different from one another?  

Kieran and that crew has a mori theme going on, while my modern kids all wear contemporary fashion. Brant has more of a goth/rock/metalhead theme, Emilia is very pretty and pattern-focused. Dustin has more of a...sneaker and jock aesthetic? But not the typical jock clothes, bc abercrombie and that shit is expensive. And zombie girl Charlie is straight up punk and alternative. Aaron is...cardigan nerd. Cole is going to be hoodie central.

Hmm this one is tricky. I’m not sure I really have a character with a consuming fear of their own mortality. Cade definitely fears the death of his loved ones, particularly Salem, but not so much himself...he’s pretty robust being all monstery and stuff. 

(Alaric fears (capital D) Death aka the actual god of death but I think that’s kinda cheating the question)

E: is the most emotive.

Quinn definitely. He’s a bit of an open book with his emotions. Monty is a close second tho.

Some quick Xavian snaps for @tenasilvertear and anyone else who might be interested.

Xavey here is my second oldest oc still in use, and has one of my more over the top and silly ‘obviously-a-teenager-made-this’ backstories.*

He(the character, not the doll) was a gift from a dear friend, whom I don’t get to talk to any more, which is a story for another day. Having a little, tangible Xavian in my life is a good, soothing thing. Expect him to show up with elaborate nonsensical jewelry one of these days. That was his thing for a while and I might as well give it a go in 3d now that I can.

*Things that teenagers make are not inherently silly or over the top. But, there is a certain vibe in some of the fantasy made by teens in the early 2000s. And I in particular was and remain both silly and over the top, so that found its way in here.
