TFTGS Inktober Day Eight: Rita the Raccoon

Day eight!!! Not much introduction needed for this one, it’s time for my girl Rita <3 I love Rita so much it’s unreal!!! I based this off the official merch of Rita, but I did futz around with her design a little bit.

For those who are unaware, Rita is one of the raccoons who lives around the gas station <3 She's also the one who ate Starburst, and she ended up a little mutated as a result. whoops! She’s fine though

Inktober Day - 03 - BELATED (Creepy, Tales From The Gas Station) Today's sketch comes from Jon Grilz's Creepy Podcast, an anthology podcast that produces stories found on Creepypasta. One of my favorite on-going series from Creepy is Tales From the Gas Station (TFTGS), by Jack Townsend. TFTGS is a serial memoir about the misadventures of Jack, a clerk at a gas station on the edge of an unnamed town where the bizarre is so commonplace it has become mundane. Jack is the gas station's only full-time employee and suffers from a medical condition that prevents him from sleeping. His day-to-day activities vary wildly from stocking shelves to avoiding mutant raccoons and dodging the wrath of elder gods. For me, it is a stand out series because it is well written, and I really enjoy a good horror/comedy. Creepy sometimes will carry you to some very dark places, and it is nice sometimes to change pace and listen to something that is lighter and funny. The writing thematically feels like Stephen King and Dave Barry sitting at IHOP, working through a pot of coffee. While demolishing a strawberry rhubarb pie they as take turns writing out a story in longhand, one-sentence at a time on the back of a placemat. TFTGS Inktober Day Seven: Starburst

next up on my personal tftgs inktober challenge!!! i’m proud of myself for keeping up with this ASDFJKL; i was kinda worried i’d have fallen off by this point. but we’re still going forward besties!!!

so today’s prompt was to draw Starburst, the little caterpillar/grub creature Jack finds in book one and decides to keep as a pet. However. I got kind of a funny idea to draw the cocoon instead, as well as Rita the raccoon moments before she swallows it. Because tomorrow’s prompt is to draw Rita, so,,, yeah <3

TFTGS Inktober - Day One: Night Shift

First entry for Inktober this year, using the Tales From the Gas Station-inspired prompt list I came up with!!! I had a lot of fun using this one! :>

Also. I am very aware that doing digital art for Inktober is probably against the ~official~ rules, but since I’m not using the official prompt list regardless I’m bending the rules a bit and treating this more as a challenge to do one piece of art each day than anything else.

TFTGS Inktober Day Twelve: Antonio / Carlos

Time for a day I was very excited about!!! From the moment I made the list, I was excited for day twelve. Because Antonio (also known as Carlos in the original creepypasta) is one of my favorite characters in the whole series. I feel like he’s very underappreciated in general and it’s my goal to make as much Antonio content as I can.

TFTGS Inktober Day Six: Hand Plants

Day six!!! Give it up for day six!!! Wahoo!!!! Today’s prompt was to draw the hand plants from book one, which are probably the most iconic part of the franchise. I had a little fun and kinda just did what I want with them, but this was a super fun prompt to try!! And yes I made myself do two hand-centric drawings two days in a row. Mind ya’ business.

TFTGS Inktober Day Twenty-Three: Sabine

Almost fully caught up with my personal inktober challenge!!! Yahoo!!!

Now here’s a character I’m kind of obsessed with even though there’s not that many details about her in canon: Sabine!!!

TFTGS Inktober Day Eighteen: The Dark God

still playing catch-up!!! i’m scheduling this post from last night, haha. anyway, here’s another prompt that gave me trouble: The Dark God™!! one of the antagonists early in the series, though i won’t spoil exactly how he’s involved for those who are interested in checking it out themselves!! :3c

just know that i’m aware this isn’t accurate. i’m very aware. but, you see, the way he’s described in the books kinda grosses me out. so i just drew his face and called it a day ASDFJKL; pretend this is him trying to appear a little more human. or something.
