WIP 1: Alex Blue is Dead

this is a ghost story, a romcom, unapologetically multigender, and an exploration of disability through the metaphor of being undead!!!

Alex Blue is Dead follows the ghost of 17yo Alex, who died driving his sister Georgia home from ballet one winter night. Alex doesn't do much; he watches over his sister, reads a lot, and continues to hang around school for the sake of learning. It's not like anyone can see them, right? That is, until one of their classmates asks, "Aren't you dead?". From then on out, Alex deals with the realization that sometimes, for some reason, certain people can see him, and he, that classmate, and his sister start working to see if "ghost" is something you can cure.

(It's not. like i said, metaphor for lifelong disability/mental illness; there are better days, worse days, horrible days, and ways to get around or even work with your condition, but it never actually goes away completely.)

WIP 2: Our Summer

this one... ok none of the characters have names yet but they are my BLORBOS anyway

it's a story about friendship between three queer boys in the late 90s. One boy is a polite, unassuming boy next door, the epitome of the Good Christian Boy--who's also dealing with repressed gay identity. The second boy is a homeless bisexual punk who doesn't really trust anyone but the other two. The third boy is trans and struggling both with making sense of that in a rural canadian town in the 90s, as well as with his deep-seated worry that his friends are not okay.

It takes place over the course of a single summer, starting when they meet on the first day of summer vacation, and shows the growth of their friendship as well as a slowly starting romance between the first two. It deals with internalized queerphobia, the fear that comes from living in a place like that, queer solidarity & friendship, etc.

WIP 3: Man Up

i've mentioned this one on tumblr before, but basically, it's a partial comedy, partial coming-of-age about two transmascs--Ferris, a stealth trans guy who is determined to have the best junior year he can and prove to everyone (and himself) that he's the man he says he is, and James, a bi "girl" who only realizes he may not be that in the first chapter he narrates. It's changed around in concept a lot since i first figured it out, but right now it's pretty low-key and mostly revolves around the highs and lows of being trans in high school through both comedic and angsty lights, plus just... the highs and lows of high school in general.

kento nanami — (over)protective

but like... to the point where it feels like he's treating you like a child! he doesnt like to see you sweat or even work at all for that matter. he loves it when you cook but has bought covers for all the knifes. if he sees a burn on your hand get ready for a 10 minute long lecture. if you accidentally fall he wont let you get up for atleast 3 days to help you ""heal."" it's almost like he doesnt trust you to take care of yourself :') he probably has like 3 separate first-aid kits everywhere.

suguru geto — emotionally unavailable

i feel like this is explainable to his character (sort of.) i dont think that he'd make you feel isolated at all, he's be an amazing listener and probably memorizes every word you say. he listens to you rant and even trauma dump with insane patience. but at some point it feels as though you hardly know him. he's talk to you a lot but very little of it is personal and you hardly know what he's thinking because his ass is not tell you. he also unintentionally distances himself from people from time to time. this applies to you too and you can feel him getting emotionally distant sometimes. it isnt something he does knowingly but it sure ass hell bothers you.

satoru gojo — very clingy and needy

this nigga. he is so utterly clingy. and at first it's perfectly fine, even appreciated by you. you still love him like crazy of course but it is just overwhelming. he is like a child most of the time, he need you around him and is always accompanying you wherever you go, and he expects you to do the same. he also doesn't believe in "me time" because why would you feel better when you're away from him: (? want to hang out with your friends? what do you need them for: (? he's right there. he is also physically incapable of listening but boy is he good at making up.

toji fushiguro — controlling

he is so controlling omfg. it's usually subtle but sometimes he will outright just say no to things he doesnt like, not caring if you like them. it gets to the point where he actually starts to change your personality. he is very caring and that's his justification for this typa stuff. it is usually harmless stuff but he gets paranoid often. he doesnt let you wear miniskirts out if you're not with him. he doesn't let you befriend people he thinks are into you. he barely lets you buy stuff on your own, he usually gifts you whatever it is youre into at that moment. borderline turned on by fear and you being dependent on him.

choso kamo — has no social life outside you

pretty self explanatory. he doesnt have many friends outside you and isn't interesting in making them either. total loser. so taking him out to events, he probably doesnt interact much and chooses to look at you the entire time, which annoys your friends. he answers their questions pretty bluntly. he's never down to have people over and lowkey hates when you are.

hiromi higuruma — workaholic

also self explanatory. he leaves early, comes home late. you barely see him on the weekdays. sometimes he goes as far as ignoring your calls when in between cases. he calls you periodically but has to have an alarm set to remind him. he loves you very very deeply but is just used to working non stop T_T

when i was seven, i got a "crush" on this boy in my class, mason. i say "crush" because:

i decided to do it. i thought "people on TV have crushes", and then i thought "he has nice hair. i will decide to have a crush on him", and then once i was officially Crushing, i made sure to take time to think about it once a day, as normal people tend to do. on valentine's day, i also made sure to set aside time to think about how i would've liked to date him and to smile while i did so, because people on TV smiled and thought of their crushes. im super allistic and alloromantic btw

i cannot stress enough that it was literally just because i wanted his haircut. it was this short, sort of messy and long-on-the-top style and i was soooooo jealous. (i have it now, L @ you Mason but i wear it better). the second he got a shaved haircut (got lice or something???) i immediately lost every single bit of "crushing" that i'd had because there was nothing else i knew or liked about him. literally at all

at the same time, i was absolutely obsessed with my then-best-friend. like, i constantly thought about how pretty she was and how nice she was and how cool she was and how if SHE was a boy i'd probably date her and and and. to this day im pretty sure she's one of the 2-ish crushes i've ever had in my entire life, or maybe like. what i'd now call a queerplatonic crush. she was def one of those
