Me trying to get people into my music like "well this band has so much deep hidden lore that you can only find some of it by scrolling back over a decade on their twitter or in dropbox audio files from live shows, but here's a brief 600 word outline of the most basic lore! No? Okay what about this guy. Sometimes as a spoonie life knocks you over with just a gentle breeze.... So it's been a while since I've made any silly projects for myself (which often makes me more depressed!! Yay!!). Tried sitting down last week and painting whatever doodle came to mind on a t shirt to get back into a small swing of things, and of course it was The Forgetmenauts again..... <3

"i took a zombie to prom and all i got was this lousy t-shirt" and some very simplistic forget-me-nots flowers on the shirt!!!! I did originally picture painting more (like aged tombstones and maybe mushrooms) but I think I like the simpler design atm.

(Just realized you can still see ugly yellow the chalk lines on the shirt in the pics lol)

since one of my most obscure favorite bands just put out new music, it seems like a great time to either let you all know or remind you of the existence of The Forgetmenauts, a fantasy folk punk band (their words) who write songs that play with myth and folklore and fairy tales, with titles including such bangers as:

The Marriage of Bigfoot and Mothman

I Took a Zombie to Prom and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt

Gay Werewolf Murder Ballad

Everybody Loves You When You Can Turn Into a Bat

and songs with less prepossessing titles that still slap, including "Jack," "The Summer King," and my personal favorite version of "Tam Lin." they've got two albums and an EP. you can listen to their entire discography in less than two hours. do it. go.
