finishing watching Damsel (netflix) and hmmm... i have a LOT of things to say, but you know what ? i don't want to spend 20mn writing all of this. so basically. the premise is quite good. the first part is different than what i expected and not my kind, but it's quite entertaining. there is one thing that to my tastes was VERY VERY GOOD (victoria&all.... <3). and then it all became garbage lol ok not garbage, but just disappointing in how it' sooo heavy handed. like girl power fantasy ok we get it but if it still somehow ends male fantasy visually speaking... and it increases exponentially to the end. the actress is quite good in the first bit (it feels like the line directive of the first part flew out of the window in the second) but in the second everything is just sooo caricatural it ruins everything. ideas good, execution bad. this is my own opinion based on my tastes and needs and i understand i can feel empowering or freeing for other peeps. it certainly did not for me. anyways. it's entertaining i guess !

To Challenge The Flow of Fate PT. 1
An Adrian Tepes (Alucard) x Reader Story
Warnings: Explicit Language, Mentions of Violence Author’s Note: So, after binge watching seasons 1 and 2, of course, I started a mental story, and I’ve finally put it down to word. Enjoy! Cause I have no idea where this is going tbh. -Thorne <3 Update: I changed the title from ‘To Challenge The Flow Of Immortality’ to what it is now, because I feel that it fits better with the story!
Her eyes snapped open the second after they hit the ground, and she shoved at the legs across her torso. “Trevor. Get the fuck off me before I amputate both your legs.” His chuckle quickly dissolved into a groan as he rolled off her, clutching at his stomach, and she leaned up, hands coming to her side to help push herself up. She muttered to herself as she dusted off her pants, slipping the sword back into its scabbard, “What type of genius lands on metal beams that have been under the goddamn ground for who knows how goddamn long?” Trevor rolled his eyes as he helped Sypha to her feet and retorted,
“Will you stop complaining (Y/N)? You’re alive, aren’t you?” She jerked around, narrowing her eyes into a glare.
“You won’t be in the next few minutes if we don’t find a way out of here.” When Sypha found her feet, he looked over at (Y/N), pulling a smug face.
“And what are you gonna do? Stab me?” Her hand went to her hilt and she spat,
“Don’t tempt me you arse.” Trevor stuck his tongue out at her, but stopped when the Speaker next to them groaned,
“Will you two please stop fighting? You’re acting like children.” The siblings glared at each other for a moment before they scoffed and began walking to the hallway. They entered the room, and (Y/N) immediately drew her eyes around the walls.
“Wow…look at this place…it’s amazing.” She drew her gaze to the center of the room, scanning the large coffin. “Is that what I think it is?” Trevor shrugged and muttered,
“Won’t know ‘til we find out.” No sooner did the words leave his mouth, did his foot sink into the ground. The sound of gears turning echoed through the room and he blurted, “I didn’t do that.” (Y/N) glowered at him from his right and quipped,
“Nice goin’ loser. You just woke up whatever’s in there.” Before he could retort, a cloud of gas released from the coffin and they stared at it as it rose, the top sliding off. She leaned over slightly, voice soft as she murmured, “Trevor…is that…” He nodded, lips pursed into a thin line, and (Y/N) gripped the hilt of her sword. The lid dropped against the marble with loud thunk, and she felt it resonate in her chest as the man rose from it, coming to levitate above it. He hunched over, voice low and gravely as he asked,
“Why are you here?” Sypha’s eyes grew wide as she exclaimed,
“The story…the Messiah sleeps under Gresit! The man who will save us from Dracula.” The man didn’t respond, simply turning his attention to (Y/N) and Trevor.
“And you two? Are you in search of a mythical savior as well?” (Y/N) opened her mouth to respond, but was cut off as her brother remarked,
“I fell down a hole.” She grunted, elbowing him in the side.
“Will you fucking shut the hell up before you say something even more stupid?” He eyed her from the corner of his eye, tempted to stick his tongue out again, and she turned to the man. “We need your help.” Sypha nodded, adding,
“Dracula is abroad in the land. He has an army of monsters and is determined to wipe out all human life wherever he finds it.” The man’s head simply tipped as he acknowledged her, but then asked,
           “Is that what you believe?”
“That Dracula’s released his horde on Wallachia? That’s fact. There’s no belief involved.” (Y/N) watched carefully as her brother spoke, hand tightening around the hilt of her sword as his voice dropped and he questioned, “But that’s not what you’re asking.”
“No.” Trevor drew his gaze up and clarified,
“You’re asking if I believe you’re some sleeping Messiah who’ll save us and no, I don’t.” Even Sypha’s shocked call of his name didn’t stop him as he growled, “I know what you are.” (Y/N) knew a grin was on the man’s face as he challenged,
           “And what am I?”
“You’re a vampire.” At this, the man finally looked up at them and with Sypha’s gasp in her ears, she caught sight of pointed fangs. “So, I have to ask myself, have we come down here to wake up the man who’ll kill Dracula…or did we come here to kill Dracula?” The man rose to his full height, but before he could speak, (Y/N) announced,
“He’s not Dracula.” Everyone’s eyes turned to her, and Trevor scoffed,
“He’s a vampire (Y/N). Under Gresit. That doesn’t leave a lot of room for misinterpretations.” She side eyed him before glancing at the vampire, eyes scanning his face.
“And Dracula’s forces are attacking Gresit in a war on humanity. No person, not even a vampire, would sleep as they waged war. You have to be awake and present.” She observed the man for a moment. “Trevor, he might be a vampire…but he isn’t Dracula.” The vampire lowered towards the ground, eyeing (Y/N) as she inconspicuously moved to Trevor’s blindside.
“One calls me Dracula…the other doesn’t.” Trevor grunted at him.
“I’ll call you whatever you like if you’re gonna show me your teeth.” The vampire gestured to Sypha.
“She called you Belmont…are you from the House of Belmont?” (Y/N) could feel the tension rising as Trevor affirmed,
“Trevor Belmont. Last son of the House of Belmont.” The man glanced at (Y/N).
“And you? The one who is standing at his back?” (Y/N) met his eyes, amazed at how they looked like pools of molten gold.
“(Y/N) Belmont. Last daughter of the House of Belmont.” The man’s eyebrows pulled together, and he explained,
“The Belmont’s fought creatures of the night, did they not? For generations.” Trevor barely spared the two women glances before he moved, ignoring (Y/N)’s hum of concern.
“Say what you mean.” He threatened, stepping to the sides, watching as the man’s eyes followed him.
“The Belmont’s killed vampires.” Trevor huffed.
“Until the good people decided they didn’t want us around.” The nonchalance made (Y/N)’s fingers twitch as she started moving the other direction, opposite of Trevor. The vampire’s eyes darted to her moving figure, letting her know he was aware as he said,
“And now Dracula is carrying out an execution order on the human race.” He paused, then raised a hand. “Do you care Belmont?” The question gave Trevor a pause, and he looked at the wall in front of him.
“Honestly, I didn’t, no.” He took a breath and continued. “But now…yes, it’s time to stop it.”
“Do you think you can?” Trevor turned, hand moving to his whip and declared,
“What I think…is I’m going to have to kill you.” Sypha grunted, taking a step forward.
“Belmont! No!” She argued. “He’s the one we’ve been waiting for.” Trevor moved back a bit, (Y/N) doing the same.
“No, he’s not. He’s a vampire. And he’s not been waiting here for hundreds of years, have you?” The man’s eyes narrowed into slits as he warned,
“I don’t like your tone, Belmont.”
“This place is old, but it’s not been abandoned. It’s alive and working. So, go on, vampire, tell her exactly how long you’ve been waiting down here.” The man’s attention turned to the Speaker.
“What is the year of your Lord?” Her voice was clear as she responded,
“1476.” He turned back to Trevor.
“Perhaps a year, then.” Trevor nodded.
“There. And on top of that, what kind of messiah creates mechanical death traps to buy himself an uninterrupted nap in a stone coffin?”
“My defenses we not for you.” Trevor huffed.
“You could’ve told your defenses that.”
“They are machines, nothing more. They were not intended to protect me from you.” The vampire’s tone was clipped, and (Y/N) quickly concluded,
“Defenses of that power would give even the best monster hunters trouble.” She regarded him with a look of suspicion. “You’re protecting yourself from something more dangerous than simple monster hunters.” He nodded at her, turning to look back at her brother.
“I asked you a question. Do you care?” Trevor leaned forward and announced,
“I care about doing my family’s work. I care about saving lives.” He turned his body. “Am I going to have to kill you?” At this, the man’s tone colored with anger and he sneered,
“Do you think you can? If you’re really a Belmont and not some runt running around with a family crest, you might be able to.” He flicked a finger, and (Y/N) heard a clinking sound before a silver sword spun through the air. He caught it and slung it back, the air cutting before it with a sharp slice. “Let’s find out.” Sypha leaned forward.
“Belmont you can’t do this!” She turned to (Y/N). “(Y/N)! Stop him, please!” Trevor cut her off before she could speak.
“Tell it to your floating vampire Jesus here.” The man’s face pinched and he countered,
“You’ve got nothing but insults, have you? A tired little-” The whip cracked the lower end of his torso, sending him flying. He skidded across the ground, and looked up, a hiss passing his lips, and (Y/N) warned,
“Trevor.” He didn’t look at her.
“Stay there (Y/N). I’m fine.” The two began to fight, and (Y/N) moved back near Sypha, knowing she couldn’t help her brother.
“(Y/N), please! Stop them!” She glanced at the woman and grunted with laughter as she watched Trevor knee the man in the groin. Her laughter quickly faded into shock as she watched her brother’s short sword snap, then get punched to the ground. The vampire dropped his sword, moving to Trevor, one hand gripping the hair at the crown of his head, the other shoving his shoulder down.
“Do you have a god to put a last prayer to, Belmont?” A grin played at Trevor’s lips and he quipped,
“Yeah. Dear God, please don’t let the vampire’s guts ruin my good tunic.” The man’s bled with confusion as he asked,
“What?” He let out a pained grunt as the dagger entered his chest. He leaned forward, hissing, “I can still rip your throat out.”
“You can, but it won’t stop me staking you.”
           “But you will still die.”
“But I don’t care. Killing you was the point. Living through it was just a luxury.” The vampire let out a chuckle, but stopped as a hand tightened in his hair, pulling him back, and an edge of a blade rested against his throat. He made no movement as he felt breath next to his ear.
“I might be the only Belmont willing to talk my way out of fights, but make no mistake, I will cut your head off if you kill my brother, vampire.” A bright light appeared in the vampire’s gaze and he looked forward at Sypha, who stood in front of him.
“And I will incinerate you before your fangs touch that man’s throat.”
“I thought I was your legendary savior.” Sypha’s head lowered.
“So did I. But he saved my life.”
           “You’re a Speaker-Magician.” She nodded.
“Yes, and his goal is mine…” Her eyes shone bright as she added, “To stand up for the people.” The vampire regarded her for a moment before looking down and muttering,
“Good. Very good. Two vampire hunters and a magician.” The cut began to heal on his torso, and he leaned up off Trevor’s dagger. “You’ll do.” He let go of Trevor’s hair, but made no more movement when (Y/N)’s blade didn’t move.
“You won’t kill us?” She queried. He nodded, as best he could and added,
“On my honor.” With his confirmation, she drew back her blade, and released her grip, smoothing the hair down from where she had it gripped. He stood up and turned to them. “I am Adrian Tepes. Known to the Wallachians as Alucard…son of Vlad Dracula Tepes.” Before he could continue, (Y/N) leaned around his body, pointing at Trevor.
“Fuckin’ told you dumbass.” Trevor’s blue eyes filled with annoyance and he gave her a sarcastic clap.
“Congratulations sister, shall I give you a pat on the back for your excellent deduces?”  She scowled at him.
“How ‘bout you bend over and let me plant my foot up your ass.”
“Children, please!” The two went silent at Sypha’s exasperated call, and Adrian continued.
“I’ve been asleep here in my private keep under Gresit for a year,” He placed a hand over his chest, and (Y/N) caught sight of the angry red scar across his pale skin. “to heal the wounds dealt by my father when I attempted to stop him unleashing his demon armies.” Sypha’s hand lowered and she marveled,
“You are the sleeping soldier.” Adrian turned to her.
“I’m aware of the stories. I’m also aware that the Speakers consider the story to be information from the future. Do you know the whole story?” A dust of crimson touched the tips of Sypha’s cheeks, and she ignored (Y/N)’s snicker as she nodded.
           “Yes.”
“The sleeping soldier will be met by a hunter and a scholar.” Trevor’s neck disappeared into his shoulders as he muttered,
“No one told me that.” (Y/N) waved him off and questioned,
“The hell am I then? Chopped liver?”
“You smell like it.” She flipped her middle finger at Trevor who snorted, and Adrian turned to her, golden eyes zeroing in on the onyx raven crest at her chest.
“A huntress from the Order of Shadows…I never expected to see one in person.” (Y/N) blinked in stunned silence. When she found her senses, she asked,
“You know the Order?” Adrian nodded.
“Only by the outstanding reputation for being protectors of the innocent and oppressed.” He eyed to silver sword in her hand. “And for being deadly in combat.” He looked back at Trevor. “I think I might’ve lost if she’d engaged me instead of you.” Trevor rolled his eyes, ignoring the barb, and Sypha took it as a chance to speak.
“Why do you think my grandfather tried everything to make you stay?” Trevor picked himself off the ground, groaning,
“I hate speakers.” The three waited for Adrian to dress, then Sypha inquired,
“So, what happens now?” Adrian shoved the scabbard into his belt.
“I need two hunters and a scholar. I need help to save Wallachia…” The sword lifted from the ground, sheathing itself. “Perhaps the world and defeat my father.” Trevor glanced at him, suspicion coloring his tone.
“Why?” Adrian’s feet stopped and he murmured,
“Because it is what my mother would have wanted…and we are all, in the end…slaves to our families wishes.” The words made (Y/N)’s heart heavy, but she ignored it, tightening the armor at her wrist.
“You’ll help us kill Dracula and save Wallachia?” The four met at the doorway, and Adrian nodded.
“My father has to die.” He glanced at them, eyes stopping to rest on (Y/N). “We four…we can destroy him.” For a moment, no one spoke, then (Y/N) pointed to the doorway, deadpanning,
“Not to break the dramatic silence here, but numbnuts broke the gears and shit coming down, so how the fuck do we get out of here?” Adrian passed her by, his eyes so focused on her, it almost made her sweat.
“Follow me.” The vampire walked ahead, Sypha following him, but the two siblings stood solemn. The two didn’t speak at first, then she whispered,
“Are you sure about this Trevor?” She looked aver at him, watching as he glared daggers into Adrian’s back.
“No…no I’m not.” (Y/N) took in a breath, then let it out.
“Well…nothing we can do about it now.” Trevor nodded, following her as she jogged to catch up with the other two. “So, Goldenrod…do you prefer Alucard or Adrian?”

Okay, crazy theory here.
Lion is where Rose kept all these things that were crazy important to her. Bismuth. Her sword. Greg’s shirt and that tape for Steven.
Based on our knowledge that Bismuth was bubbled before Pink was shattered, and thus also before the corruption wave, we know her bubble was either stored someplace other than Lion then moved there, or Lion predates the corruption wave. And we know that Lion is probably at least as old as when Buddy went touring the world for gem locations, because Rose had a pride of lions with her when they met, and he’s either one of them or at least a descendant.
But... Lion might not be as old as the arrival of the gems, or even as the gem war, or even as Buddy’s journey.
...So that got me to thinking.
What if Lion is Nora (or at least his sibling)? What if Rose telling Steven “I’m going to become half of you” was because the other “half” was Lion?
Like, I know Greg told Steven that Rose made two tapes in the “what if” scenario not knowing the gender of the baby, but Lion has been nothing but "this looks like a total red herring but was actually pivotal to the whole Pink Diamond Conspiracy” as means of his plot device value throughout the series.
Gems summon their weapon/tool through their gems. Steven can summon his shield from his gem... but where did the sword first emerge from? Out of Lion. And the nature of the sword (its inability to shatter) was pivotal to learning key pieces of the Pink Conspiracy, so clearly additionally it was kept someplace safe. (Note that Lion knew the location of the armory, and that the sword could not have been stored in Rose’s gem either because Pearl immediately thought it would be in the armory and not something Steven simply hadn’t learned to summon yet.) The scabbard itself was discarded, but the sword itself? Kept on the hill inside Lion’s mane. What caused the scabbard to get lost in the Strawberry Fields rather than discarded in the desert junkyard?
“She had to [keep so many secrets], Steven! It’s the mark of a great leader. Knowing just what you need to keep hidden from everyone you were trying to protect. *haha* Everyone except ME!” (Pearl, Rose’s Scabbard)
They find Lion out where the “discarded” Nora tape was tossed. And weird thing. Stay with me here? Blue and Yellow Diamonds’ ships are arms? Pink’s was the legs right???? Right?????? And the key works on the door between them???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(brief immature moment here where I just ??????/ they had to teleport into the area from this direction for what reason besides crucial imagery????? it wouldn’t have been clear what it was if they’d come in from another angle. clearly the key no longer had a purpose because that room where rose stored/dumped stuff only has one remaining wall... cough)
I doubt this is where Steven was born, but it’s definitely where Lion was. Buddy found Rose out here alone with a pride of lions--what was she doing out here at that exact moment? It was so far before the Nora tape could have existed, and hundreds of years before Greg was even born. She was definitely doing something that pertained to whatever had been left behind on the ship or otherwise discarded there. Do the lions protect it? Do we know definitively if Buddy correctly annotated the color of the lions? They might have all been pink, tbh--but if Lion is the only one, what killed him?
Conversely, I would love to know what pertinence the other discarded things at the ship ruins have--especially things like the Darumaka and that book with a star on the front. They all definitely carry the statement that “all these things pertain to how you were brought into this world” coming from the imagery of where the room is located vs. the ship itself. Was this particular room her personal bedroom on the ship? It’s also entirely possible that the ship ruins themselves were completely hidden by the Desert Glass’s castle in Steven’s Lion, though once the Crystal Gems collected the DG they likely would have seen it. (And a brief speculation that maybe Rose scattered the gem artifacts in key locations on purpose, to keep even gems away from these places, because they all have something to do with her identity. It’s likely that she put the DG there to keep everyone away from the ship ruins, for example, regardless of whether the DG kept at least one core location static or not.)
So there’s all this womb imagery. He can’t breathe inside Lion’s mane. And the storage here in the desert, where the door is positioned amid the wreckage... Either Lion is Steven’s sibling, or Lion was Rose’s midwife and kept everything of Rose’s safe that had anything to do with her being reborn as Steven.
But they weren’t born at the same time so they’re not twins or anything, unless Greg wasn’t present at Steven’s birth. And we actually don’t know at this point who all was present at his birth. But I’m leaning toward Lion being a big brother in some way.
Sibling or midwife, Lion is absolutely in some way a part of Rose/Steven--as though she imbued part of herself in Lion and part of herself into Steven. Are her tears an actual part of her? What makes how Steven healed Amethyst and Lapis different from how he healed Lars? If Lion follows the same logistics as Lars, they both died before Steven (or Rose) could heal them in tact--but based on what we know of Lars, these Rose Undead retain all their memories and gain the ability to be connected to one another, as well as Rose (or Steven). In death the deceased loses something which gets replaced when Rose tries to heal them--she probably repairs the missing ‘piece’ with a piece of her essence in some way. It’s her means of compartmentalizing pieces of herself, in an archival fashion. And it was necessary that this other half of Rose couldn’t speak, in order for Lion to be unable to tell anyone anything she left inside him or why, or how he came to be--the same silent order she placed on Pearl. I’m left wondering just how many Rose Undead exist, and if all of them have pieces hidden inside them of the Pink Conspiracy, or pieces of other great secrets Pink had to keep from even her own Pearl.
The fact Steven reacts to the Nora tape with the belief it means there’s “more than one [child of Rose Quartz],” and the fact of how every single thing about Lion’s presence and discoveries in the show have proven to be precisely about the nature of who Rose was... it proves to me that Lion (and Lars) are in essence also parts of Rose (and Steven). I also believe that her experience with reviving Lion was her affirmation that she understood how her magic works, and that it proved to her that she could transfer her magic to Steven in the same vein.
The only thing about all the Lion stuff off the top of my head that we still don’t know yet is what’s in that chest on the hill inside Lion’s mane. It requires a key... Do we... know of any keys besides the one Lion gave him that let him into the ship ruins?

I had such an intense and kind of fucked up dream last night. It was actually about Rein and it seemed as if I was watching a movie, so I decided to write it down LMAO. I’m pretty sure my dream was triggered from this movie I was watching last night-- Anyway ya idk I thought it was interesting how accurate dream Rein was lool.
He was acting undercover, pretending to be the “new” guy in this whole arms or drug deal (don’t remember tbh). They had to travel a lot, meeting with different clients to see who would offer the best deal. Some clients would try to be less diplomatic and try to kill them, but luckily Rein was there to prevent that. Each time, winning over the enemy’s trust little by little. The leader of this operation, who was this beautiful woman, favored him, whereas her trusted bodyguard didn’t like Rein AT ALL. It was a bit rocky at first, he got into fights with the bodyguard and Rein won. There was one deal where Rein saved the body guard’s life. He then learned that the guard and the leader knew each other ever since they were young. The guard told Rein that the leader meant everything to him and that he hoped Rein would learn to cherish her as well. Eventually they treated him like family and trusted Rein with their lives. As time progressed, the leader called Rein into her suite after they finished another stressful meeting with a client. There she told him that she was fond of Rein, where he cooly replies, “I’m fond of you as well.” She laughs and rephrased what she meant as she walked closer to him. Rein watches her closely— there she stops right in front of him. She stares at his face and inquired about all his scars, where did he get them, how— were there more located on his body? Rein only laughed and answered none of her questions except the last. He slowly lifted up his shirt, casting it aside to reveal his scar ridden torso. The leader’s eyes widen in surprise, not expecting so much. She used her fingers to trace along the long wounds across his chest, traveling down past his abdomen and following below his navel. Right before she could venture any further, Rein caught her hand, startling her. She looked up and was met with his glowing eyes. The corner of his lips curled into a sly grin, parting his lips slightly, he said in a deep voice, “Don’t go any further, or you might regret it.” He warned her. She noticed how sharp his fangs were, and it all just added to this newfound excitement. Her fingers danced slightly above his zipper, teasing him slightly, “I never regret any of my decisions.” Rein breathed in deeply, lifting his hand to brush away some of her hair that covered her face. He noticed there was a scar beneath her eye and he leaned in, kissing it. Pulling back slightly, he kissed a different area of her face, always making sure to avoid her lips. He traveled further down her neck, biting down, bruising her porcelain skin. It wasn’t the first time he slept with the enemy. It made him sick actually— but in a strange way it gave him satisfaction knowing he has them in such a vulnerable state, wrapped around his fingers. She called out his name between panted breathes as she dug her nails deep into his back, causing him to hiss in a mix of pleasure and pain. He quickly grabbed her wrists and pinned them above her head with one hand while using his other hand to wrap around her neck. He gripped tighter and tighter, but not enough to fully choke her. Her face was flushed red and he leaned in closer, whispering in her ear with a deep voice saying, “I could kill you right now if I wanted to.” He watched the expression of her face changed, there was fear, but she did and said nothing for him to stop. In fact, he felt the walls around him tighten, catching him off guard for a moment. He loosened his grip and distanced himself where he lifted her legs above his shoulders. Her face in the beginning when he had first met her was cold and powerful. She had no mercy when it comes to the lives of others, regardless if they were innocent or not, young or old— it didn’t matter to her. Each life she took, Rein could only watch with his hands behind his back, nails digging so hard into his skin, enough that he bled. And now here she was, every move he made was his to control. He positioned her how he wants her to be positioned. He told her when she could look at him if he wanted to. He ordered her to get on all fours, ass up and to take it without any complaints... and she did. She repeated his name over and over that he got sick of hearing it. He told her to shut up and how she can only make a noise if he allowed it. In front of her men, Rein gave her the respect to be in control, but behind closed doors, she begged for him. His expression was cold one night as he watched her moaned in pleasure. The way her brows curled upwards, beads of sweat running down her flushed face— every detail he hated. She told him she was about to climax and he took it as a signal to go harder. Pathetic. It was the morning of the meeting with the last client. Rein was already awake, watching the sun rise out from the balcony. He blew out smoke, taking the cigarette out from between his lips to tap the ashes away. He felt small hands wrap around his waist and he turned around to see the leader. He put out his cigarette and pulled her closer to him as they watched the sunrise together. “Today’s the day.” She said. “Today’s the day.” He repeated after her. There was a moment of silence before she cleared her throat. “I was thinking...” she started, “After... this whole deal is over, maybe I should retire.” “Retire?” Rein asked, one of his brows raising slightly. He actually didn’t care. She nodded and looked at him, “Yes, I’d like to retire and live a cozy life. Somewhere peaceful with someone I love... I want you to be the one to share it with me.” It was quiet again and they stared at each other. Her face was soft, there was a glow to her skin and a shine to her eyes when she said that. There was a strange feeling in his heart that twisted him inside, and the way she was looking at him right now made it seem as if she was innocent... pure. Her lips looked so inviting. Not once at the start of their fucked up relationship did he kiss her on her lips. For some reason, at that moment he wondered how it would taste. He held her chin with his hand, lifting her head slightly as he began to lean down. Maybe... Just this once he’ll have a taste of the forbidden fruit. His lips stopped when the moment was interrupted with a loud knock on the door, telling them that they they’ll be heading to the rendezvous point in an hour. Rein regained his senses and pulled back. There was a slight disappointed look on her face as she walked away to get ready. Rein only turned away and gripped hard onto the railings of the balcony. Letting out a deep sigh in frustration, he thought, “What the hell was I thinking?” If he had kissed her at that moment, he really believed that he might have fallen in love. It wouldn’t even be real. None of it was real. It was only a cheap imitation— a sick illusion. God, was he pathetic. The two parties met inside a docked shipped. Both making sure that each one had their respective items of trade... the leader with the drugs/weapons and the other with the promised payment. The other leader smiled, content with the deal and he held out his hand for the agreement. She smiled and took his hand... but at that moment, she pulled out a blade she had hiding up her sleeve and slit his throat. Blood flowed out of the deep gash with eyes staring at her with disbelief. Her men quickly took care of the rest of the enemy and she walked over, picking up both her case and the case full of money. “Alright boys, you know the usual.” She told them. Rein walked up to her, “What happened to retirement? Wasn’t that supposed to be the client you made a deal with?” She only laughed, placing a bloodied hand on Rein’s cheek. “My dear, we have only just begun. I have received a message from our provider that we have double the amount that I could sell. So I can hold off the retirement a little bit longer. I hope you can as well. Now, if you could, help the boys get rid of the bodies and after you’re done, meet up with me in my yacht so we can get cleaned up.” Rein watched her leave and he went back to the other men. There was a smile on his face and when asked why he was grinning, he simply said, “My job here is done.” They were all confused, and Rein pulled out a mysterious sword from beneath his coat and unsheathed it, revealing a blade that looked completely different from what the scabbard was shaped like. The men were startled and like lightning, Rein disappeared and from the corner of the room, they saw him slice off one of their heads cleanly. He kicked the decapitated head towards the direction of the other men and laughed. “Come.” He said. Bullets slipped passed him, knives were swung, but never cut him. There were a few lucky hits here and there, but those were short lived. One by one, they fell. He was faced with the bodyguard, the only true threat to him. He wasn’t a human, but a Mayari (a different race in my story) and they were always tough to kill. Rein provoked the guard, questioning what the Mayari felt towards their leader. “Did you love her?” Rein asked, “Or are you obsessed with her?” Rein knew the answer already. It wasn’t a secret. He knew the guard stood outside their hotel door, listening in on the conversations Rein and the leader would have... and much more. He just wanted to see how angry he could make the guard. Despite the Mayari becoming more dangerous the angrier he got, he was also a lot more reckless. With a stab right through the Mayari’s heart, Rein had only one more target to go. He made his way to the leader’s yacht. She wasn’t in the room, but then he noticed her clothes sprawled across the floor and realized she was in the bathroom. Before entering, he found her phone and slipped it in his pocket.
Rein opened the door, seeing that she was in the bathtub, back towards him. The lights were off, but candlelights surrounded her, the fresh aroma of jasmine along with the rose petals scattered in the tub filled Rein’s senses. He let his footsteps be heard and she turned around, “Oh, you made it—“ her voice stopped upon seeing how bloody he was, “Rein?” He said nothing and she gave him a nervous smile, “W-Was there a surprise attack?” He grinned and he slipped off his coat, revealing his blood stained sword, sitting on the edge of the tub as he looked down at her. “No.” He placed his hand in the water, the blood spreading across the surface. There was a defending silence between them, she quickly opened her mouth to scream for her bodyguard, but Rein covered her mouth with his still bloodied hand. “Shh...” He hushed, “For you, my love, I’ll make it quick.” Tears streamed down her face and he pulled his hand back. “Who do you work for? I can pay you more! You know I can!” She started listing out names of other underground leaders and he laughed, tracing the bloodied blade up her throat. “I don’t work for any of them.” He told her.
Her eyes widen in realization, “You’re an A-Axil agent aren’t you?” He smiled. “Why Rein? I loved you! We treated you like family!” She said through her sobs. Rein hushed her again, calming her, slightly pulling his blade back and leaned in. He kissed her gently, stroking her cheek, wiping her tears away. The taste of iron filled his mouth and he pulled back. It was bitter, but warm. Sweet, but so tooth achingly rotten. The kiss was bittersweet. That was the word to describe this. The blade he held went through her abdomen. She stared at him with betrayed eyes. The last thing he heard him say was “I already have a family.” And everything went dark.
