Aka the Royal wedding dresses I just don't like/hate/am meh about. I did five British and five International. @claireofluxembourg started this ranking and I've seen so many people follow suit, so here's mine!

#5 - Princess Sofia of Greece and Denmark, 1962. There is a thing as too much lace and this hits that, it looks heavy and looked dated for the time, let alone now.

#4 - Silvia Sommerlath, 1976 - I don't like so many things about this but especially the fit. It could have been a still ugly, but more of a classic simple look with a better structure? Maybe? Idk. I don't love the tiara either which adds to my meh feeling about this one.

#3 Rania Al-Yassin, 1993 - Ugly dress, ugly personality?

#2 Mary Donaldson, 2004 - This one could have worked? Like it has elements - the neckline, the veil, the general shape of the dress - but I just find it SO ugly 🙈

And #1 in International No Ty Wedding Dresses is Mabel Smit, 2004 - The only nice thing I can say about this is at least she is beyond happy in it so none of our opinions would bother her at all.

Now it's the Battle of the Brits; and I mean there's a valid case to name multiple dresses as the gold medal winner here....

The first of the ~marrying in brides, but definitely not the last, in at #5 is Sophie Rhys-Jones, 1999 - I don't love anything about this but what seals the deal to put it firmly it the Ugly category is that janky tiara. Oh all the jewels in the vault and that's what she picked 😶

#4 - Anne Mountbatten Windsor as she signed, 1973 - I like elements of this, like it's not flat out terrible, but the bad elements outweigh the good. I do like that tiara though 🤷🏻

#3, Princess Elizabeth, 1947, is it treason to call my Monarch's dress fugly? I mean lock me in the tower then because I really don't like this. Only good point is the veil.

In at #2 Sarah Ferguson, 1986 - I mean just looking at it screams 80s and not in a good way? Hate the shoulders, hate the bow, hate the fabric, hate the groom.

There could only really be one winner in this. I mean iconic? I suppose. And I'm well aware of the Diana impact and the amount of people that then went on to wear similar monstrosities after her - my Aunt being one 😂 - but it's just not good. It totally drowns her for thing, I just don't have anything nice to say about this dress. It will forever be my worst nightmare wedding dress. She takes the crown ♛

unpopular aj opinions

- nerd glasses are overrated and ugly (i wear glasses because i want to SEE, not as a fashion statement)

- bow and arrows are overrated but not as much as nerds (they look clunky on animals and don’t do damage in adventures, but the concept is cool)

- shelves have no reason to be considered a ~nature item~

- headdresses aren’t that cool

- head feathers are better

- sheep cloaks are fugly

- worns took me a long time to accept..... but i still have no idea why people like them (they’re not that great??? it’s a ratty blanket?)

- AJ box items (shark tail, snow leopard slippers) aren’t that appealing

- members shouldn’t go out of their way to get nm stuff (idk a better way to word this but an example is rare phantoms from the juice hut playset)

- heart lockets, moon necklaces, mech angel wings, RIM tiaras, and rare scary bat wings should be more popular

- magenta is an ugly color and people shouldn’t love it so much

- fox hats? bad (why tf would any animal wear a fox as a hat???)

- journey book prizes are awesome

- straw hats ain’t shit

- if you join an adventure and can, FUCKING FINISH IT

- the design for wolves is not appealing in the slightest

- same with pet cats (but that might be just the ones i see)

- don’t fucking beg ESPECIALLY if you’re a member

- don’t go to someone’s den if you want to trade for something on their list. just offer. p l e a s e

Well; check, check & check on that royals post from both of you. Thing about the Swedish Roys though: their duchies are really empty titles, unlike say the UK, they don't get to mooch off any lands or taxes of their duchies/counties etc. And man, personally, most tiaras from the 19th c. and crowns (17th-19th c) are monstrosities. Total fuglies. No monarchy gets away unscathed there :P Whatever happened to the simple symbolic coronets, circlets and more graceful 'thin' wrought wonders? *sigh*

I didn’t know they were empty titles but my point still stands, LMAO. I don’t see why they have to give titles to babies, specially ones who are grandchildren of the monarch and the closest they are going to be to the throne is being 5th in line or so. IDK, still feels too extra to give dukedoms (as empty as they may be) to babies. They could wait until they marry or when they complete their education or military training. This way it just feels like “oh, you exist, here you have a dukedom!!”. It feels so Oprah, LMAO.

IDK, I feel like in that sense the norwegians and the spanish do it best (you were right @misshonoriaglossop). Sverre Magnus is not even a HRH (if I’m not mistaken), Ingrid Alexandra, who is the future heir, is. In Spain the children of the brothers and sisters of the heir are not infantes. It’s not a point of if you like the people more or less, but IMO, not that much people is necessary to keep the institution working. I don’t see how a country with 10 millions of people needs 6 full time working royals (yes, this goes particularly for the swedes). It’s an unpopular opinion here, I know, but I don’t see how CP and Sofia are necessary and why they have to be supported with public money (as far as I know Madde’s family is supported by Chris), that money would be better invested in other matters no matter how rich Sweden as a country is. IMO, they should work and fill in the events CG, Silvia, Vic and Daniel can’t attend. It’s even going to be more glaring once Estelle and Oscar start to do public work. But, whatever, I guess this is CG’s fault, and they still need to adress the situation of Madde’s kids. Don’t get me wrong, I love the swedes (specially Silvia, Victoria and Madde), but that does not mean I can not criticize them if I feel so.

This feels like I’m just pointing out the swedes, but this goes for every other family with too many members, including the BRF. Sorry for the rant here, LMAO.

About the tiaras, personally, the ones I usually dislike the most are the modern tiaras. Most of them are not my taste xD.
