i hope one day you can make art that heals the way you see the world. i draw bumpy noses because my mom gave me and my siblings the same features, and i envied flat noses when i first went to public school. i draw body hair because i grew up with pale skin and dark hair, and shaved my arm hair until college. i draw dark lips because i love the way lipstick looks, smudged after a kiss. i draw thick eyebrows because i grew up seeing thick, dark eyebrows that meet in the middle and wisp out towards the temple as so beautiful. i draw long nails because i love wearing press-ons to give my brothers head scratches. i draw revealing clothes, beautiful outfits, and unattainable fashion on fat bodies because i am unlearning the way my body was forced into oversized, unappealing clothes my whole life. i hope you can heal the way you see yourself and your body through the art you create because it helps, i promise it helps, and along the way you might give someone else the opportunity to see themselves too

thinking about the moon and the earth, in regards to the end. like the story of selene and endymion, how the moon goddess looks over the earth prince and gives him immortality so she can look after him indefinitely… thinking about how in sailor moon, princess serenity dies protecting the earth (and endymion, a prince from earth) because of her job as a protector and her love for him… thinking about how pearl is the moon and scar is the earth and he starts the series singing her praises, and ends it laughing with her. thinking about even when she’s not there, her light guides him in the dark. thinking about that even after she died scar goes looking for her. thinking about how scar is always okay with losing as long as he’s not alone. thinking abt how the moon orbits the earth and guides the waves and the tide and gives light in the darkest hours.
