What did the world had to look like from up there?

It was a thought that always left him wondering, in the not-so-rare times he allowed himself to sneak up to the surface to stare at the large metal mouth that hung over the harbor of Junon. Pointed towards the sea, almost like a spear of a challenger. Its shadow cast over the lazy back and forth of the tide shifted the temperature of those waters, and gave away the time he’d spent where he did not belong.

What a strange fate for someone like Sephiroth. What an odd merman, being so charmed by what was above.

Even more than the architecture of the land-dwellers, it was the people themselves that fascinated him. If he paid attention and sat behind the rocks away from the beach, he could at time catch glimpses of life. Sometimes they came in pairs; other times, small children followed. Once or twice, one came alone, or with the company of four-legged creatures he was unfamiliar with.

He’d been warned of what would happen, were he caught. But though he’d been spotted before, Sephiroth found that these people weren’t so difficult to fool. A hasty retreat in the waves was often enough to discourage any pursuit. If caught on the rocks, his waistline had always been carefully hidden be the water, and he needed to do no more than returning their waving gesture to be mistaken for one of their kind, just taking the time for a soak.

The cetaceous tail that extended from his spine, of a glistening black with sharp-looking silver marks on the back, was certainly something the likes of which he’d never noticed among them. Would it be so strange and scary to a land-dweller, if they saw him in his entirety? Or would they too be just as fascinated as he?

It was a question that had crossed his mind every time his eyes had met another pair above the surface. And today, when a set of young greens more vibrant and bright than his own found him, it was simply no different.

The sun was dimming, and the waters of Junon were dark. With a curiosity of his own, the merman stared back, his hands pushing just that little more against his chosen rock to let his body sink a little further, until the comfortable temperature of the sea returned near the shoulders.

I would love to. Considering I just finished the Athrabeth. I feel like I'm still digesting so much of it to jump straight into that parallel chats between other two gigantic characters, but it is tempting! I try not to say never about writing anything, so maybe.

Defiance & pride - the denial of wild, unwise hope vs staking everything on it.

Dor-lómin - in practical terms of defense, harvests, storage, people, opinions, general ruling.

The dynamic between Fingolfin and Fingon and their vassals - who is working the fields, who holds power, how are the Men educated?

The House of Hador, and what it is like to love it.

Having a loved one captured by Morgoth - as @theworldisquietheretooquiet mentioned, it's a great thought (Húrin & Maedhros having their own chat would be. Something. Not sure what but a thing definitely)

So much else!

Of course, the most interesting way to pull off a way for this to work timeline wise would be after the Second Singing, when Finrod and Andreth's arguments are proved one way and the other, something about Fingon and thememory of the Eldar and Morwen's strong will moving her to meet him to understand the faint memory of shadow lingering in her life and family in Arda Healed. But my god, that would be so much to pull off!

Anyone who wishes to write it is more than welcome. It would be very interesting to read in any variation and I'd love to hear any thoughts on this!

favourite flavour(s): changing this for food - I'm a sucker for pasta and carbs in general, mostly anything with cheese, cinnamon/marzipan-based sweets and passionfruit/guaraná in terms of drinks!

favourite genre(s): science fiction, fantasy, thriller & suspense, comedy.

favourite music: Japanese rock is where my heart is, but I will honestly listen to mostly pop/rock from anywhere, some (Brazilian) funk as long as it's from a female artist and MPB really hits home every now and then.

favourite movie: 'Pirates of the Caribbean: the Curse of the Black Pearl'. I laugh before the jokes are even delivered, I lost count of how many times I've rewatched it.

favourite series: if we're talking about TV shows, it's likely to be a mix of Star Trek (TNG) and Doctor Who; from videogames, it should be the Final Fantasy, Yakuza/RGG and Persona franchises.

currently reading: 'European Corporate Law' by Dorresteijn a.o., I literally paused in-between chapters for this dash game, haha (I'm such a nerd, it's Sunday and I'm finding some of the discussions re. fundamental freedoms in the EU absolutely fascinating).

currently watching: Season 3 of 'Peaky Blinders' and 'National Treasure: Edge of History' simultaneously. The first one is my current 'main' series, the second one I'm doing purely for the Catherine Zeta-Jones goodness.

currently working on: a FFXII verse for Eirene, a PtN verse for my main blog, readings for my new courses for this period and I really must start writing my thesis. :) Like. I'm behind a month in my own schedule.

Inside the box there is another box. It is plain and wooden. It is sturdy enough, with polished brass latches that free the spring hinge upon it's lid. Inside the box, there is a note. Large block lettering all capitalized is handwritten upon it. The note reads.

"ALWAYS THINKING OF YOU, NO MATTER WHERE I GO. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AERITH." Under the letter, the box contains dividers. Each row a pocket with a different bag. A collection of seeds from a different flowers. He had started a little collection during his travels. She was going to make tons of gil selling flowers after all. He had to make sure she had some good ones.

Yarrows and Latanas from the Costa Del Sol. Morning glorys and larkspur from outside the city. there were even some Azaleas and some Plum Blossom seeds. Flowers native only to the region of Wutai. Zack had gone to some pretty great lengths to get those added to the box.

He didn't know if they would grow anywhere else, but the SOLDIER had a feeling that if Aerith planted them, they would. Everything she touched seemed to spring to life in a vibrant way. Including the raven haired man who always came and went.
