Magic of Dawn - A Glossary

Dungeons

Dungeons are pocket dimensions created by Wild Magic or Ill Creations.

Dungeons created by Wild Magic are erratic in design, and are the Community’s primary source for magical materials. They generate at random, and vanish exactly one century after being discovered. They are various in their environments, with some being as small as a house, and others expanding to an entire country inside. No creatures have ever been created from these dungeons, but some dungeons do generate powerful non-sentient constructions to fight off intruders. It takes a skilled exploration team to safely uncover all of a dungeon’s secrets and render it safe for mining.

Dungeons created by Ill Creations are warped and twisted. They pull in unsuspecting victims (most commonly humans) and trap them inside. Ill Creations will slowly drain away the victim’s life force, and drive them into insanity. These dungeons are incredibly dangerous as the Ill Creations have total control over them, and are sadistic in nature. Hunters must proceed with extreme precaution when entering into a dungeon made by an Ill Creation, for there is nothing else more dangerous in all the worlds.

Rangers

Rangers are skilled warriors who rescue those trapped inside of dungeons made by Ill Creations. They work in pairs, or groups of three, and are viewed highly in the Community’s society.  They work in conjunction to explorers and hunters, and are part of either of the two main guilds: Darkriss and Therum.

Explorers

Explorers are passionate adventurers who dedicate their skill and time into exploring dungeons created by Wild Magic. They make these dungeons safe for miners, botanists, researchers, and other members of the Community to use before it vanishes. They work with rangers and hunters and are part of either of the two main guilds: Darkriss and Therum.

Hunters

Hunters are driven soldiers who hunt down and exterminate any and all Ill Creations. They work closely with rangers, and occasionally with explorers. They are part of either of the two main guilds: Darkriss or Therum.

Darkriss

Darkriss is one of the two biggest guilds in the Community and employs rangers, explorers, and hunters. Darkriss was the second guild to have been created, and was founded by Drav’mor during the Crossroads Era. It was initially selective in its members, choosing only members of Drav’mor. After the Dark War, Darkriss transitioned into the Community and accepted all members of the Community into its ranks.

Darkriss is considered more brute-force heavy over its rival Therum, and uses tests of strength and power to induct those to it.

Therum

Therum is one of the two biggest guilds in the Community and employs rangers, explorers, and hunters. Therum was the first guild to have been created, and was founded by the Fae Kingdom during Lyreyum’s era. It was initially selective in its members, choosing only members of the fae kingdom. After the Dark War and subsequent creation of the Community Therum broke away from the fae Kingdom and became a Community guild, where it now accepts all races into its ranks.

Therum is considered the more intelligent-focused over its rival Darkriss, and uses tests of wisdom to induct those into it.

Observers

While not powerful like their partners, enforcers, observers are keen-eyed and intelligent officers who focus on stealth, intelligence-gathering, and persuasion to uncover the truth. Each observer is partnered to an enforcer and the two must successfully pass rigorous exams before being allowed into the coveted ranks of the Order (the Community’s equivalent to law-enforcement).

Enforcers

While not as smart as their partners, observers, enforcers are powerful, and magically skilled officers who focus on strength, force, and intimidation to apprehend criminals. Each enforcer is partnered to an observer and the two must successfully pass rigorous exams before being allowed into the coveted ranks of the Order (the Community’s equivalent to law-enforcement).

Justicar

Justicars are senior members of the Order who judge crimes and issue sentences. The title is typically reserved for retired observers and enforcers, but other members of the Community may earn that title.  

The Vanguards

The Vanguards are elite warriors of the Community, handpicked and personally trained by Elder Sylvania to ensure peace between all species of the Community in hopes of preventing another Dark War. 

Unfortunately their valiant leader, Valerie Dawn, vanished 15 years ago and no one has been able to find her. The Vanguards, however, continue on their fight. Strangely enough they refuse to place her as KIA, and continue like she was still leading them.

Unity

Unity is the council that discusses the future of the Community, and the laws.

arm design was more than likely inspired by the popcross horror au, so remember to go check that out. if you don't mind tragedy, character death, and body horror.

was thinkin about scp ucm today, so i remade how i see him.

it also features ucm sr, who i based his design slightly off of stuff i saw here. their lore for him is so cool-

anyways, since he's in a scp universe, i decided to give him more monstrous features.

Peter didn't get to know about a lot of them till after they quit their restoration job.

these will be ranked from obvious, to least obvious.

tail being longer and more strange than just a horse tail.

its fuzzy like felt.

he's half blind because of how he ended up dying, peter just gets back problems.

also, when he meets ucm sr he's a bit more ticked off because in his head, this guy abandoned him. so he's not as ecstatic.

decently chill with children, so spends most of the day {he's staying with peter} cooking with Goldy and Squish. {squish uses the scp 313 model, but they were treating it with scp 999 effects =^=}

welp, i did something. this time it's unrelated from the four conjoined somethings i did earlier this week. technically last month.

here's ya only heads up if you continue to art. and- me explaining brain.

that's the full thing i posted in discord, of course my brain was zoned out into elsewhere lands, so i didn't explain as well as i like. here's your art before i ramble.

in this, the o5 all had at least one researcher they were toying with while destroying the whole world.

Lucifer spent many many centuries deciding which one intrigued him, and then finally decided upon Dr Oakland.

a man so invested in helping mortal life, that he was willing to do the most foul things ever, if required.

Lucifer struck a slight deal with Dresden, do what he says, and he'll let him do more to "better humanity".

but, for dresden, this isn't easy.

researchers he knows and cares about {in one way, or another..} are put at risk.

'scp 963 shall be put in a test against blah blah blah..' or 'you are to investigate this other member of staff'

it's Lucifer using him to do his dirty work. and Dresden knows, he can see it right in plain, he just doesn't have a clue about what everything leads to.

so for him, it's difficult. he's tired, he can't fight back because then his privileges will be taken. he can't deny things, because there's still repercussions for disobeying the o5.

to the people he's around, he's collapsing from exhaustion and still won't rest. they understand, but at the same time there is more he can't say.

Lucifer is a being that is always watching Dresden, and he can't get help if he wanted to.

welp- i've got a new art program, and have cast kleki into the... ocean? into the google abyss.

now, i have both FireFox, and FireAlpaca.

Villain headcanons, because why not.

includes basically one off villains as well.

lots of these are gonna seem really ridiculous compared to the first one.

Dresden Oakland can't stand silence, that's why the lights in backcells are always buzzing, because otherwise he gets reminded of what happened when he was the only one in his dimension.

Eloise Ludum has a couple hundred servants and minions, but she still says that Harold is her favorite.

Harold started stealing crayons and putting them into the goop on his arms so he could draw whatever he wanted. this resulted in more packs of crayons needing to be bought.

Burn despises water, to the point she will have to be forced to even drink water.

Crash is usually the one that has to force her to drink water.

Arava adores the ocean, mostly the twilight zone creatures. do you see how freaky they are? she's very ocean based.

Ulitus uses gretski as a bed/therapy animal. he spent at least a week on the ship just only hanging around the dire beaver due to despising humans.

Tarsa and Lucifer Trismegistus were the closest of the O5, which.. resulted in things.

Rayla is just a variant of Kayla {like how the dnd universe exists} that went through biological and mechanical... she's messed up and no longer fully human.

Acog came from Bustar's universe, finding a biomech that hadn't yet been thrown across the universe.

Bestar was an overseer that had a cult for himself, before he learned what you have to do to get refused a favor from Dresden. which results in you being trapped of course.

the only reason Archibald was able to catch Vasilia and Heath was because of the fact Zashchitnik was visiting family.

Jaylyn got promised extra credit if she participated in Eloise's arena.

Unice Versai is a liar, the arm she has is absolutely not the first one she made, she just always wants to be better than everyone.
