"Roy?" The meds have finally kicked in, and her tense body is forced to relax. Her place within the hospital bed is not a permanent one. (Especially when the nurses' rounds start in an hour.) A rare moment caught alone ever since their last meeting. Spent only in each other's arms, nothing truly had to be said. Their reunion was not of grand emotion, but of tactical maneuvers. There was no time to feel. Here, their lives have slowed, their guard was down, and they're once again themselves.

She props heeself up with her arm, his eyes following her general direction. Poor man, unable to see exactly where she is. Can't see the look of adoration in those emerald irises. (but he also does not see the winces that cross her face.) She caresses his cheek with the back of her hand for a moment, relishing the silence. What could she say? 'I missed you? I am so glad we're alive?'

'Shut up, it's more than that.'

Aurora closes her eyes, deep breath in. Yeah, it was, wasn't it? There was no need hide it. (He deserved to know that he hasn't cast out of her thoughts.) She lowers her face to gently press their foreheads together, (her heart set aglow by the flames once more) The wind whispers, "I... I love you, mi amapola...All I want is you."

Confession Time | Currently accepting.

He didn’t expect her to come back, least of all today of all days. When he last saw her, she walked out of his apartment with her suitcase. The door closed behind her, and she was gone---from his side, his embrace, his life. For a while, all he could do was sit on the couch as all the warmth left with her. It took what felt like hours for him to push himself to lie down in bed.

Did he sleep that night? No, he didn’t. But, that was not her fault. As always, he had only himself to blame.

So, when she came back on the Promised Day, he found himself at a loss. On one hand, his heart wanted to leap out of his chest while he embraced her, not caring who watched or what happened around them. On the other, said heart felt like it broke once again on the ground. She... he didn’t want her to see him like this. Those beautiful emerald eyes---he couldn’t look into them anymore.

Not only that, but... were they together anymore? Could they be?

Would she still want him?

She answered those questions when she came into his hospital room. Yes. And, just like that, his heart began to put itself back together. It didn’t matter that he couldn’t see what he was doing, or that his hands hurt like hell when he moved them. He still held Aurora when he could, not wanting her to be too far. It wasn’t the reunion either of them wanted, not with the two of them injured after the battle of a lifetime, but it didn’t matter. She was here. They were both alive.

Aurora was back in his life. His fire, albeit only embers now, had a reason to burn again.

For now, the two of them had the hospital room to themselves. The Lieutenant, bless her, found a reason to have the nurses take her out of the room so the two of them could have some time alone. At one point, they also must’ve given Aurora pain medication. She finally relaxed---how difficult that was with everything that occurred in the last twenty four hours. He knew he couldn’t, not even with medication in his system. Blindness seemed to have that effect.

When she moved, he tried to follow her location. Unfortunately, he had no idea whether or not he was accurate. Her hand against his cheek was a welcome touch, soft compared to his own, and he decided to close his eyes... for a few seconds. He heard her take a deep breath, and he opened them again. Was she all right? Was she worried? About to tell him something? Yes, that much was certain when he felt her forehead against his. No need to panic. No need to consider the worst case scenario.

She gave him the best case one. The wind whispered, and the flame took a breath of air. He gasped aloud, unseeing eyes wide in pure astonishment. Oh, how he wished he could see how she regarded him now, how she looked when she said perhaps some of the most important words in his life. It was not every day someone told him they loved him. No amount of wishing, though, would let him see her eyes, which meant he needed to rely purely on how she held him, and how she spoke.

Ardently. Quietly. To him and only him.

A smile crept onto his face as he covered her hands with his. Yes, it hurt, and he couldn’t care less. He kept his head right where it was, and he didn’t dare raise his voice. A stray tear or two left his eyes---also ignored. With the words he kept close to his heart when she left, altered slightly to fit the occasion, the flame whispered in return:

“Te amo también, mi cariño. So te quiero a ti.”

I'm still believing that this eight months were the best of my life until now, yeah, there was bad times and so do good times, but the good things just overpasses the bad times. She just carved up directly to my heart. At first, we were classmates, nothing special, oh and sorry for delivering my part late haha, just both of us were doing our owns day by day, until I just approached to her because I had a good hunch and was interested to know her. I was intrigued by all the things she published on her stories, I felt kinda sad for her, and I thought that I don't lose anything trying to cheer her up. Like a domino effect, we were getting closer, I really appreciated our friendship, I liked her like a friend, don't misunderstand me, I really just wanted her invaluable friendship, but I really felt something, like if I knew her in past lifes, felt a conection, I started to feel something when she said that she appreciates me, man, just, I fell in love. At this time we were doing calls, I was really nervous about talking to her, 'cause I'm not a person who likes calls, but I got used to the calls really fast 'cause felt in confidence and security when I talked to her, same she. One day she suspected that I like her, and yup, she asked to me if I like her, with a little hesitate, I told her that I felt something, a conection (and still feeling it), and I was surprised that she felt a conection too, but she told me that felt a friendship conection not a romantic one, I was ashamed obviously, but, I really felt in security with her, and we kept calling each other more frequently, I just made a best friend by that time. Hahahaha if I put this part of our story, even if we are on adult swing, I will just summarize, that was so special to me, I just loved her more and more by each time we did *that*, man, I really just felt the happiest man of the world, 'cause, I really knew all, I mean ALL, of the person I love, I loved her, I love her, the way she is, the way she makes me feel better, the way she is so cute and adorable and at the same time so passionate and cool. Baby, you may have mental issues, but, these ills doesn't prevent you to being yourself, you're just beautiful in all senses. I really loved that you sang to me Amapolas and Vámonos a marte, Amapolas: I know how special is that song for you, and to dedicate this song to me, made me feel special, I learnt You're The Reason, just for you, I hope to sing you this one day, but it seems difficult. My birthday, do you remember?, you made my birthday one of the best of my life, even the best, you were so special, now I just want to cry 'cause I'm not even sure if I could do something that special. You made me grow as a person, I'm so grateful with you, really you don't know how much grateful I am. When you said you loved me, I just felt so lucky and happy. And to say one last time, that I really beg for your forgiveness, I realized how dumb I was. I love you with all my soul, heart and being. And I'm so happy that you got a casting and a scholarship, and I wish that you could find a better person to love than I was. All yours, this ashamed Tumblr.

Hi , what's up ? I have an idea of a possible Trolls AU , tell me what do you think : what if the Trolls didn't live in a magical-like land , but in Europe during XVIII Century ? What if Poppy was the princess of Spain who fell in love with the French prince Branch ( or Louis-Benoit in this AU ) , who is already bethroted to Barb ( an Italian princess ) ?

Okay, first of all: I LOVE THE CONCEPT YOU GOT RIGHT THERE.

Maybe it’s because by making Poppy the princess of Spain you’re making her a Spaniard just like me! LOL

Although, maybe you’re a Spaniard yourself! Judging by the fact you actually used Roman numbers when talking about the century, but moving on!!

This AU has actually given me so many ideas as to what to do with it, even making it relatively accurate to actual Spanish and, to a lesser degree, European History!

Please, allow me to share them:

It is obvious Barb could still be called Barbara in this AU, just like you decided to have Branch be Louis-Benoit. Many names could be adapted, in fact.

The only one whose name I cannot find a proper substitute for is Poppy, however. There’s just… no appropriate name for her in Spanish… Because Paula is a bit of a far cry, Paola (although used in Spain) is more Italian-like, the translation of her name (amapola) is one we don’t even use as a girl’s name to begin with… The best solution I can think of would, maybe, be Paloma (and considering an old, regal name used to be Urraca, it’s not so bad).

But I’m not too sold on the idea, so let’s go with Poppy.

King Peppy, on the other hand, could be King José, because a very common nickname for José is Pepe, which is a lot closer to his actual name.

Since Spain is my country, I know enough History to make it as historically accurate as possible, while still being true to the essence of the franchise.

Luckily for you (and anyone who reads this AU but doesn’t know about Spanish History), the 18th Century happens to be a time when the king Carlos III actually made a lot of changes in Spanish society, many of those changes being centred around making Madrid a more cultural space (the Botanical Garden, the Museum of Prado, a better sewer system…).

This kind of things are actually useful if you want to add the canonical love Por trolls have for Arts over other disciplines to your AU! Just like you could take advantage of The Enlightenment being native to France to reflect Branch’s tendency of being the most sensible and scientifically and mechanically inclined troll. Or The Renaissance being born in Italy to reflect the Rock trolls’ apparent superior technology...

As for the story itself, your idea has inspired several of my own.

For starters, I can see Barb’s role in the story as being a reluctant antagonist. I get the feeling she wouldn’t love Branch (and she certainly wouldn’t want to marry him!) but not really having a choice because her own country is in desperate need of France’s power and wealth. So, for the sake of her people, she would try and get in the way between Poppy and Branch.

Also, if you ask me, she’d totally be a badass lesbian, like Julie d’Aubigny (she’s real and totally hardcore, look it up!).

As for Poppy and Branch…

I’d say they’re childhood friends. I always liked to think that, were they both royalty, Poppy would’ve had a crush on Branch but, being a few years younger than him, he would’ve been slightly put off by her puppy love for him. And would gently let her down in that aspect.

That rejection could actually play a part in Poppy's future turmoil once they’re older and she finds out he’s engaged. Because of course he is to be married! He didn’t like her when they were both single, only seeing her as a friend or little sister! How would he not be engaged if he never thought of her that way!?

Except… He would indeed think of her that way.

A few years after Branch rejected Poppy (let’s say, a year before the AU actually takes place) they would meet again, this time both being fully adults. And Branch’s reaction at seeing Poppy’s bloomed into a beautiful flower would be akin to the one Prince Dereck had when he saw adult Odette for the first time in The Swan Princess (but he would actually be in love with her for more than just her beauty because, as I said, she was always dear to him).

The problem is... since years have passed since they last saw each other, since he rejected her, Branch would most likely believe he’s lost his chance at winning her heart. Surely she must have moved on from him by then! So he doesn’t try courting her then.

Which would explain why he’d agree on marrying Princess Barbara instead of Poppy when Spain was an allied country and their parents would’ve been over the moon with their union.

So I can picture the rest of the AU centring around:

Poppy being invited to Branch’s palace (probably Versailles?) for the announcement of his engagement

Poppy being devastated at the news of losing the love of her life for a second time.

The two half-unintentionally, half-intentionally ending up in intimate situations where it’s just the two of them which would then lead to some serious internal monologues and struggles over what’s best according to reason and what’s best according to their hearts.

Barb catching wind of it all and, although she’d just wish to call off the entire thing and run off with her personal maid Carol, being forced to antagonise Poppy for the sake of her country in the meantime.

Something, something in between and… Ta Da! Poppy and Branch are happily married!

Now that I think about it, Carlos III used to rule over Sicily before he ascended to the throne of Spain. So maybe the conflict between Poppy and Barb could be solved if Spain agreed on helping Italy out?

I’ve personally named this AU the Royal Love Triangle! AU. But the name’s up to you, too.

Of course, the AU is yours and I’m totally willing to hear what else you have to say about it. I was just sharing what it’s inspired in me. Hope you still like this!!

Super Friday Incredible Pairs Block B Report! 04/19/2019

Grako & Coyote vs. Suriano Halcon Jr. & Arkalis

Who’s who?

Grako in green/gold & Coyote in brown.

Suriano in black & Araklis in gold.

How’s the match?

Good, it was a fun opener and Grako/Coyote have quickly become a dominate opening tag team. That doesn’t mean much as their isn’t an opening tag tournament or belt, but it could lead them to bigger things in the following year or two. Everyone has to start somewhere and in CMLL that somewhere is the opening tag team matches. Was nice to see Suriano again too.

Tae Honma, Princesa Sugehit & Kaho Kobayashi vs. Dalys, Amapola & Reyna Isis

Who’s who?

Tae in green, Sugehit in a one piece and Kaho with shorts.

Dalys in 2 piece, Amapola in black Isis in blue.

How’s the match?

Very good, I’ve not seen much of Tae Honma, but she looked good here. Wish it had a better ending, but all the action here was pretty fun. Excited to see what Kaho/Tae do in the coming weeks. I’d assume Honma isn’t around long term, but I could be wrong. While Kaho has said her current tour has no planned end date. So she may be around the rest of 2019 for all we know.

Kawato San vs. Rey Cometa lightning match

Who’s who?

Kawato in blue/silver and Cometa with face paint.

How’s the match?

Good, but too brief to really be amongst the great lightning matches this year. Nice to see Cometa put over here, but wish he’d have looked more impressive or did something more interesting with his finish. He has this cool new look, but feels very much like the same Cometa, except now he does a bow and arrow taunt. Cometa is going to need to do more if he wants to escape his midcard role. I’m not so convinced that will happen, even if he does put it together.

Caristico, Angel de Oro & Atlantis Jr. vs. Sanson, Rey Bucanero & Hijo del Villano III

Who’s who?

Caristico in white, Oro in gold, Atlantis Jr. in blue/white/black.

Sanson in black/white, Bucanero in facepaint & Villano in pink.

How’s the match?

Very good, everyone worked really well here even new faces Hijo del Villano III and Atlantis Jr. Of course Caristico/Oro/Sanson all did good, as they almost always do and Bucanero for the most part kept up. This is pretty comparable to last week’s big none block match, Volador vs. Gilbert, but that will be more noticeable in coming months since it was of course Gilbert’s 1st singles match in CMLL. While this is mostly just a random trios match.

Seeding Battle Royal

Not reviewing this, but it played out pretty nicely.

Round 1 : Hechicero & Stuka Jr. vs. Mistico & Cuatrero

Who’s who?

Hechicero in suspenders & Stuka in blue.

Mistico/Cuatrero with black/white attires, Cuatrero having horseshoes on his.

How’s the match?

Very good, great block match from two of my favorite teams in the entire tournament. This did feel very much like a ‘get my shit in’ match, but I like the shit these guys have so, that’s fine by me. Not the best block match in this tournament, but might crack the top 5. Just a little too short.

Round 1 : Templario & Audaz vs. Negro Casas & Atlantis

Who’s who?

Templario/Audaz in matching gold and silver, Templario has tattoos.

Casas in black and Atlantis in his iconic white mask.

How’s the match?

Very good, Negro Casas looked like a million dollars here and really earned his team's victory here. I really was pulling for Audaz/Templario here, but it didn’t feel like a cheap or easy win. Casas clawed his way to the win and Atlantis was there to help. Was happy to see Templario and Audaz work so well on a team, but it’s a shame this will likely be a one off.

Round 1 : Terrible & Niebla Roja vs. Ultimo Guerrero & Volador Jr.

Who’s who?

Terrible shaved and Roja in red/silver.

Ultimo in blue pants and Volador Jr. in spandex blue top shaved as well.

How’s the match?

Good, here we the the trope/cliche of teams not able to work together. This was more blatant than last week’s Oro/Bestia who just seemed to not be on the same page. Here Roja may have had the match won, but Terrible attacked him leading to the strongest team in the block, Ultimo/Volador Jr. to basically get a buy into the 2nd round.

Round 1 : Rush & Vangellys vs. Gran Guerrero & Valiente

Who’s who?

Rush in white and western boots & Vangellys in red bodysuit.

Gran in red masked and Valiente in gold.

How’s the match?

Meh, it was a pretty short contest and the seemingly obviously wrong team went over. That’s trying to create a believable tournament for you, but CMLL making me watch 2 Vangellys matches in one night seems a bit unfair.

Round 2 : Cuatrero & Mistico vs. Atlantis & Negro Casas

Who’s who?

Mistico/Cuatrero with black/white attires, Cuatrero having horseshoes on his.

Casas in black and Atlantis in his iconic white mask.

How’s the match?

Very good, Casas and Atlantis look good here vs. two much younger guys. Both the young guys too did their own bumps to make Atlantis look like the icon he is. While I may be upset at Casas/Atlantis over Audaz/Templario earlier it did give Mistico Cuatrero a bigger threat to beat here in the block semi-finals.

Round 2 : Ultimo Guerrero & Volador Jr. vs. Mistico & Cuatrero

Who’s who?

Ultimo in blue pants and Volador Jr. in spandex blue top shaved as well.

Rush in white and western boots & Vangellys in red bodysuit.

How’s the match?

Meh, again this seemed pretty short, but that just happens to be true for most CMLL block matches. I don’t care much for Vangellys and Rush just throwing away the contest makes it seem pretty moot after the fact. Vangellys in the past got his head shaved by Bestia del Ring, could this lead to a Rush/Vangellys feud? No... probably not.

Block Finals : Ultimo Guerrero & Volador Jr. vs. Mistico & Cuatrero

Who’s who?

Ultimo in blue pants and Volador Jr. in spandex blue top shaved as well.

Mistico/Cuatrero with black/white attires, Cuatrero having horseshoes on his.

How’s the match?

Great, best match of this block, but I’d also take either Casas match or Stuka/Hechicero in the 1st round too. This block was lots of fun, but didn’t reach the highs last week did in my opinion. I’m certainly cheering for Titan/Barbaro over Ultimo/Volador and am holding out hope that perhaps this will be a long term story with Ultimo/Volador Jr. coming up short in the finals for a 2nd year in a row. Though perhaps this year it won’t be due to cheating like last year with Rush/Terrible.

Time for a cuppa and a cake .. oh, and a tub of fruit .. at the cafe in the building, opposite the church, which is home to the Navajo Gallery and the Amapola Gallery .. Local Artist Coop.

Most charming and helpful staff .. and interested in my story about why I was here in Albuquerque to have coffee and shake hands with Rosie to celebrate our 30 years’ friendship .. and, of course, adding that Helen and I sat at the table looking out towards the Plaza and all the shops.

They laughed when I said that I wanted to book the same table again in August 2020 but they assured us it would indeed be reserved especially for us!

I also met one of the exhibitors and her hubby and they sat at the next table and invited me to have a look at the displays and exhibits upstairs Hubby very kindly agreed to take my photo instead of my usual selfie. A most delightful couple and an absolute pleasure to meet them both.

I did go upstairs and met some more lovely people .. and my blog was left with ‘another grandad’ at the paydesk when I bought a card .. one of those which seem to jump out at you when you are browsing and with a special occasion in mind. We reminisced for a few minutes and, being of ‘that generation’, we were able to exchange thoughts and comments about the music and the like we had both experienced all those years ago. 👍

Observational Notes 05/15/2018:

NAGEL DINING HALL: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

The photo to the right shows the display that I put out on the check-out stand. The text says:

And the box says take one, leaving it up to the viewer to take a paper or a flower or both or even not to take one. I sat in the corner and observed the different reactions of people.

ll of the available tables inside are full. 71 degrees right now, and 50% of the outdoor tables are full. There is fluctuating line at the register as of 11:05.

Staff to patron ratio: 8:30

11:30 From where I am sitting I do not hear any music. No predominant smell. Taste: I ate a salad, it tasted like water. Tables and general area is pretty clean.

There is a girl picking her teeth which is pretty gross. Only two people eating alone, they don't seem to be uncomfortable… I got chips, the people checking out are nice /friendly… I am in an indoor environment, so there are no naturally occurring flowers around me except those that I have laid out.

2:45 less people by more than half.

What surprised me? That approximately 75% of the people just walked by the flowers without even noticing them. They are in a completely unnatural environment, so they stood out especially because of the bright box they were in.

What intrigued me? How quickly the amount of people changed in the eating area!! In only 30 min. For the people who did stop to look at the flowers or take one without saying anything or having a visible reaction, I would have liked to know what they were thinking.

What disturbed me? tHe girl picking her teeth & my watery salad. The one person who rolled there eyes, who does that to flowers...?

Arena Mexico Gran Prix Report! 9/1/2017

WOW! What a card! I really loved the whole night. My only complaint would be that my boy Puma wasn’t on the card. Other than that, a great showcase of some of the best talents in the company and a loaded main event! I’m going to be sad to see Elgin and Juice leave CMLL, I’ll even be sad to see Taven and Kenny King leave, both of whom I’m less familiar with, but definitely made me a fan tonight. Gran Prix may not be the highest profile wrestling crossover of the year, but if they keep putting on great shows like tonight... it soon may become one of the best annual crossovers.

Blue Panther, Blue Panther JR and The Panther vs Mascara Ano 2000, Sanson and El Cuatrero

(Obviously I won’t have timestamps for this one since it’s iPPV and not on Youtube. Here is the link I am using from the VOD on internettv.tv)

Who’s who?

This one is pretty easy Blue Panther is father to Jr. and The Panther. He is maskless while his sons can be differentiated by one another by color. Blue Panther Jr in blue while The Panther is in all black.

While on the other side we have uncle Mascara Ano 2000 who has no mask and nephews Sanson, who has a lion on his forehead and El Cuatrero who has horse shoes on his pants and forehead with spur like eyeholes.

How’s the match?

Great! You’ll probably get tired of me saying this by the end of this review, but really the card was good from start to bottom. This is in spite of the fact that it was pretty much a 1 match card with only the main event really getting much build. This doesn’t really need much build anyways as it’s dynasty vs dynasty. Nothing is really on the line, but that didn’t keep this match from being hot.

I’ll admit a bias as I’m a huge fan of Panther Bros and they really can impress vs the right opponent and the list of who a right opponent is only seems to be growing. It helps that Sanson, El Cuatrero and Forastero have been proving to be one of the best teams in the company. So Panther Bros had a great duo to work off of.

I can’t help but to love Blue Panther Sr. he just looks like such wholesome middle aged man. He did a good job here, but the match noticeably slowed down in sections where he and Mascara 2000 were involved. It makes me wish Blue Panther and The Panther had a cousin like Sanson and El Cuatrero do. Black Warrior is actually their cousin, though he hasn’t been in CMLL since 2013 and is 48, so not that much younger than Blue Panther Sr.

Amapola, Dalys, Zeuxis vs Marcela, Princesa Sugehit, Silueta

Who’s who?

Amapola is maskless in black, Zeuxis is in black as well, but has a mask while their third is blond and wearing blue/white/red.

Princesa Sugehit is the masked one on her side, a butterfly mask. Marcela in light blue while Silueta is wearing pink.

How’s the match?

Pretty good, pretty much only Sugehit and Zeuxis were highlighted. It felt like all the other women were just there. It’s not really a compliant as I think that was the intended result. Those two are the ones having a mask vs mask in 2 weeks, while the other 4 likely won’t be on the card. The two really sold the fact they wanted one another's masks as both teams ripped the other’s captain's mask.

Cavernario, Felino, Negro Casas vs Carístico, Mistico, Soberano Jr.

Who’s who?

Cavernario is the young man of his team wearing a loincloth like singlet, Felino is wearing a cat tail and green pants, while Negro Casas is in plain black ring gear.

Soberano Jr. is wearing blue and silver like always while Caristico/Mistico are dressed very similarly, but like always Caristico has red eye detailing that tells him apart from his old mask and identity that Mistico took over years ago.

How’s the match?

Great! It shouldn’t be too surprising as pretty much everyone in this match can work a great match. Mistico has never underperformed this year and he continues that streak by having some of the best moments in this big match. I know CMLL have always had a shine on him with the Trios belts on him for most of the last 5 years or so.

I hope he gets a singles title soon, it’s also criminal CMLL has yet to have him win a betting match yet. Soberano Jr. continues to be one of the best young flyers in the business and Caristico/Negro/Felino all showed they can still hang with the kids who are all in their 20′s still.

Negro Casas continues to tease the fans with whom he might work a singles match with next. Whoever he works against, he is going to pull a good/great match out of. He only has so many more left, one would assume as at 57 Negro Casas is one of the oldest workers in the world people are still eager to go see.

Team Mexico (Diamante Azul, Dragón Lee, Euforia, Mephisto, Rush, Último Guerrero, Valiente, Volador Jr.) vs Team International (Johnny Idol, Juice Robinson, Kenny King, Kojima, Marco Corleone, Matt Taven, Michael Elgin, Sam Adonis) Gran Prix Torneo Cibernetico elimination match

Who’s who?

*Deep Breath*

Well on Team International we have :

Johnny Idol with purple trunks/gear and long dark hair, he is from New Zealand.

Juice Robinson has dreads and has multicolored tights is from the US.

Kenny King is the only black man in the match and is wearing red gear also from the US.

Marco Corleone is wearing green/white/red not because he is a turncoat, but because he is billed from Italy... though is really from America.

Matt Taven is also in purple like Idol, but has light colored hair that isn’t as long representing the US.

Sam Adonis has airbrushed tights and wears his hair in a ponytail, representing Trump’s America.

Satoshi Kojima is the only Asian man in the match and is wearing his signature colors orange and black representing Japan.

Michael Elgin is wearing his signature red singlet here for Canada.

While on Team Mexico we have :

Diamante Azul despite his blue name, he is wearing white pants and mask here with some light green/red touches for Mexican pride.

Dragón Lee also in white, but briefs instead of pants and has things hanging off the back of his mask. Probably the smallest member on his team.

Euforia is masked and wearing white and black.

Mephisto is wearing a red/white mask with dark pants, he also has black threads hanging off the back of his mask.

Rush in white western boots and gear. He also has long black hair.

Último Guerrero in green and black, Ultimo is also one of the older men on the team.

Valiente is in all white the stoutest member of the team and 1/3rd of sky team.

Volador Jr. is also in all white, but has wrist tape, knee pads and no mask.

How was the match?

Great! Really the whole card was pretty much sold on this and if all Torneo Ciberneticos are this fun, it’s not hard to see why. I really don’t think anyone looked bad in the match and each elimination made the tension grow. It’s very much like CMLL’s version of Survivor Series, but with more national pride.

The match had a nice singing of the Mexican National Anthem before the match started. It was a nice show of respect to the country CMLL has run out of since it’s inception 80+ years ago.

Some people were eliminated quickly, but even those talents got to get a few good looking moves off. Johnny Idol was the first to bite the bullet, be before that happened he had a nice release suplex on Dragon Lee. The most forgettable talent in the match was probably Euforia, who didn’t even get his signature assisted splash off. CMLL I think did a great job of letting the outside talent look good and strong. Kojima/Elgin/Taven/Juice all being seen as the strongest/stronger members of Team International over CMLL regulars like Marco/Idol/Adonis.

Elgin by far was the best part of the match. CMLL is starting to make the people of Arena Mexico love Michael Elgin. I don’t think Elgin is ever going to come to CMLL full time, as I don’t think they pay as much as NJPW. If CMLL could get their hands on him for a longer stretch of time, I think Elgin would bring many new eyes to CMLL. Though as I said, I don’t see that ever happening... CMLL should have him in more if he is always going to give this much effort.

Though Elgin was more impressive, I think all the outsiders brought their A game. Matt Taven had a scary landing at the hands of Mephisto and also had some miscommunication on a lionsault. Still, despite those two missteps his performance was great. I hope his feud with Ultimo continues, though it felt like his elimination at the hands of Ultimo might be meant as a bookend for that feud.

While some moves in this match hit less than perfectly, it doesn’t really hurt the match for me and should be expected with any match that bloats to 16 contenders. I don’t mean bloat in an awful way as the Royal Rumble is bloated with 30 contenders, but is often the most exciting multi-man match of WWE’s year. It’s just when you have 16-30 moving pieces, some of those moving pieces might not clash perfectly.

A great first iPPV for me to watch from CMLL, I’ve been covering them since May/June, this was their first iPPV since March. I’ll say it and not feel too bad about it... this PPV is better overall than anything WWE has produced this year.

It’s no G1 Climax Finals, but it’s also leagues more enjoyable than something like Backlash from this year. If you have some extra cash to spend I’d highly recommend buying this.
