In the kitchen, packing the meals he prepared for himself in his bag, no one saw the Colonel’s hands shake. 

Kain’s worsened injury was the last straw. He didn’t wander far from the Comodeen, and yet—and yet—if White Cloud hadn’t found him in time… Roy wanted to just be thankful. He was thankful he could still look into his friend’s eyes every day. But, that emotion brought friends he didn’t care for, and they overstayed their welcome. Guilt flooded his veins whenever he looked at Kain, and he couldn’t stop himself from wondering if he helped cause the man to flee their safe haven in the first place. Anger followed shortly thereafter, lighting his blood on fire, as he dared to answer in the affirmative. 

Fear, though, was the most unwelcome. Heavier than the albatross, it sat on his chest and made it nearly impossible for him to breathe. Something attacked Kain and nearly killed him—he nearly died. What else existed in Wonderland? What other beasts roamed the lands for easy prey like those already injured like Edward? It hadn’t been that long since their excursion in the south. Neither of them fully recovered since then, and Edward couldn’t breathe like he used to. He couldn’t fight like he used to, and that was detrimental.  

Never mind Gaudium. And White Cloud couldn’t be everywhere at once to save the day. That was far too much to ask from one being, never mind one a dying one. 

He couldn’t keep asking White Cloud to search for his boys like this when he had much more pressing concerns to deal with. He couldn’t do that to his friend. Not only that, but he couldn’t… he couldn’t keep staying safe within the walls of the Comodeen doing what felt like nothing. Cleaning probably helped, and he taught himself Wonderlandian, but it wasn’t enough. Edward and Alphonse weren’t in his arms. For all he knew, they could be fending off beasts like what Kain dealt with or worse, or… or…

His breath hitched as he stopped packing for a few seconds. No, no no no no. He needed to push the memory down. He couldn’t let it resurface. All he needed to do was finish packing and—

“Colonel?”

Goddammit, she found him before he finished. 

Quiet as always, the Lieutenant appeared at his side without saying much, the question in her eyes as she met his gaze. Her stance said a lot for someone to someone who knew her: feet apart, as if ready to go at a second’s notice, but shoulders squared toward him to give him her undivided attention. Her eyes traveled to his bag and back to his eyes in milliseconds, a hint of concern present along with her business as usual. She wouldn’t say a word until he replied to her, and she wouldn’t leave his side until she got her answer. He knew that. With a heavy sigh, he stopped packing, and he turned toward her. 

“I only packed enough for me.” No, that was the wrong thing to say. She gave him a blank stare before she replied.

“I’ll be fine. When are we leaving?”

“… Ten minutes.” He raised an eyebrow. “You’re not trying to stop me, Lieutenant?”

“Trying to stop you will only end up with you being reckless without me. At least I can keep an eye on you this way.”

“As long as you’re sure.” His hands returned to packing the rest of his meals. Thankfully, he was almost done when the Lieutenant arrived. 

“My duty to you doesn’t waver, Sir. I will see you in ten minutes.” With a formal salute, the Lieutenant turned on her heel and walked back to her room. She had her weapons to prepare along with Hayate. While she did just get him back, a trip out into Wonderland wasn’t the wisest idea for him. There was no telling what they’d find out in the wild, and they didn’t know how long they would be gone. Hopefully, it wouldn’t be more than a few days, and the Comodeen wouldn’t miss them that much. They did just get most of the team back together. That, and leaving without saying goodbye… 

She was not in charge of this pseudo-mission, though. The Colonel was, and he did not deem it important to tell anyone else that he was leaving. He had one thought on his mind and nothing else: his boys. After seeing the two of them return to Central… she wished she could blame him.

IRL Sixsona Designs Pt. 2: Makeup Edition

Hey y'all! This is second in a series of a few extra sixsona posts that @lightleckrereins and I are doing this week. The first post is here, showing the real-life vinyl inspirations we used!

This time around, I'm doing yet another hypothetical: what makeup would be used for each sixsona design!! My list of makeup recommendations for Six cosplayers is probably the post I'm second-most proud of (after sixsonas ofc). When I was initially working on that I kept seeing makeup that would be perfect for some of our sixsona designs, so because I have absolutely zero chill of course I had to figure out the full makeup plots for each.

The basic rules were - one glitter - one eyeshadow palette - and two additional products to fill in any gaps, as needed (this included fun stuff like an extra glitter or liquid liner, but also practical things like additional eyeshadow shades when needed or a liquid base for more sheer colors)

I think I understood your prompt? I'm no longer sure I understand hurt/comfort when I'm writing it, because this turned out much sadder than I meant for it to be, but here we go! Have some platonic rjk, with holiday stuff, and also some trauma, and people caring about each other.

"My mum once told me I ruined Christmas."

Roy quirked an eyebrow at her, but he didn't say anything in response.

Keeley wrung her hands around the bottle. The cold condensate from the glass clung unpleasantly against her pajama sleeves, dampening the fine silk.

"I was fifteen. I told her I wanted to go ice skating with my friends on Christmas morning and that we could do presents in the afternoon. She told me I was being selfish."

Keeley passed over the champagne. He knocked it back like the fat bottle weighed nothing more than a beer bottle. She couldn't do that. With the bottle half-full, she had to use both hands to tilt it back -- more than once she'd nearly sloshed it, her nose tickling with bubbles that threatened to churn out too fast.

"She was always on me about stuff like that. Wanting to go out all the time. She said I preferred my friends over her, and she was right. It was suffocating, living in that house."

Roy passed her the bottle back. She grabbed it with both hands, his grip steadying hers until the bottle was safely in her lap.

Between them, Jamie dozed the sleep of the exhausted.

Settled on the floor behind his couch with only a thin throw blanket between him and the wooden floor, his face was as peaceful as she could remember seeing him these past few months. With Roy's leather jacket tucked over him, gently lifting and falling with his breaths, she could almost mistake him for happy.

The snow outside reflected too much light for her to make that mistake.

The champagne settled uncomfortably in her stomach.

"I'm not saying I was perfect either. I know I started by telling her she was being unreasonable, but I know I ended up shouting at her that she was being a bitch -- that's what really set her off. Took the turkey out of the oven and dumped it straight in the trash. Banging plates around and making a big show out of getting rid of all the food she'd made. Told me that I was being ungrateful and that I had ruined Christmas, so there wasn't any point in celebrating was there? Then she called me a trollop and said that it was just her luck that she had a daughter who'd rather be getting fingered in the park rather than spending time with her mum."

"Jesus fuck." Roy turned towards her with his eyebrows raised to his hairline.

"Then I screamed that I hated her and I spent all of Christmas Eve crying in my room," Keeley finished. The snow continued to flutter to the ground in tiny snowflakes, that would then cluster to make molehills. The wet hem around her ankles could attest to that. Keeley chewed on her lip. Quietly, she set the bottle down. "Do you know what happened the next morning?"

"You called her something worse and set her bed on fire?" Roy suggested.

A giggle bubbled out of her throat. "No. No, the next morning I came downstairs, and she had made me pancakes. Fresh fruit, whip cream, chocolate chips, honey. She told me that she didn't want to talk about what happened -- that we should just forget it and start over. She spent the whole morning treating me like a princess. I didn't even think to ask about going out with my friends. Just told them the next time I saw them that she'd said no, and that was that."

Jamie's cheek was warm against her thigh. She brushed his hair away from his face. His hair was usually so soft, but between her fingers it felt brittle and dry.

She swallowed. "I get that it's messed up now. I mean, you've met her."

Roy made a noise that was both an agreement and an implied insult.

"But I didn't know how to say any of that then. It was like, I knew what she was doing was shit, and that my friends' mums weren't usually like that with them, but then she'd turn around and she'd be so nice, you know? I even had friends of mine who'd tell me they were jealous of how much my mum worried after me -- said that their parents wouldn't even notice if they were on fire. Said I should be grateful that she cared. After all, she could be way worse."

She couldn't take her eyes off of Jamie. She knew it was just her imagination filling in what her mind knew was there -- it was too dark to actually see the red handprint on Jamie's cheek. It was burned into her mind all the same.

"It's not that bad," he'd told her when she'd rushed over in her pajamas, called in for back-up by a Roy who was seething in the background. "Really. He's not even drunk anymore -- it could've been a whole lot worse."

Her breath felt weak in her chest. "But I didn't want something that was only okay some of the time. And I know now that I don't deserve that either."

Roy's hand gently covered hers where it rested on Jamie's head. Against her freezing fingers, he felt as warm as a brand.

"How do we get him to see that too, Roy?"

He squeezed her hand and offered, "We can go to his dad's house and set his bed on fire."

Keeley giggled, the laugh choking out of her louder than she meant.

Jamie shifted at the noise, turning trustingly under her palm.

"Yeah. Yeah, that sounds perfect," she whispered, trying not to ruin what little rest Jamie could get.

Roy ran his thumb against the back of her hand, and she imagined kindling trying to light a spark. Outside, the world was cold and quiet and dusted unpleasantly with snow. The two of them, with their hands locked over the sleeping gift between them, would have to keep warmth enough.

Case 1: Dragon Tribes in Elibe

In Elibe, we have explicit confirmation that there are Fire Dragons, Ice Dragons, Divine Dragons, and Mage Dragons.....sort of.

Mage dragons in Elibe are not a separate species, but rather a corrupted Divine Dragon. The terminology is a little muddy, because while the kanji is the same as Archanean Mage Dragons, Idunn is specifically referred to as a Demon Dragon in Heroes. Binding Blade still lacks an official English localization, so Heroes is the only official English s-

Engage has Roy remark in his DLC bond supports with Zelestia that Mage Dragons do exist in Elibe, though it’s unclear once again if it’s as separate species or not.

I’ve included the Japanese text as well for funsies, but he’s saying more or less the same thing. Either way, he’s clearly talking about Idunn here, and thus more or less soft de-confirming Sophia as a Mage Dragon.

Case 2: Arcadia

Things get a little dicey here because of the nature of FE7 existing as a prequel that was released after the fact and the two games don’t always agree (god help me).

Jahn: “That is correct. However, the Divine Dragons did not agree with us. They said that that would be defying the laws of nature. As we were discussing how we could persuade the Divine Dragons to help us, they suddenly disappeared.”

“Master Roy… We knew that the girl you sent here was captured by the Dragons. Still, we did not try and rescue her. We feared that our kind would be in danger if we showed ourselves in front of the other Dragons again. But now, I wonder whether my judgment was correct.”

These quotes seem to imply that Arcadia was where the Divine Dragons escaped to, so it stands to reason that the citizens of Arcadia are primarily Divine Dragons, descended from Divine Dragons, or fully human (Hawkeye and Igrene, for example). This especially makes sense when we consider Arcadia is particularly sensitive about not letting Fae’s existence leak to the outside world. The other dragons think the Divine Dragons are gone entirely and Jahn, the last of the full dragons in Elibe (not counting the dragons through the Dragon’s Gate etc etc etc), has no idea Arcadia exists.

So it stands to reason that Arcadia is where the Divine Dragons disappeared to, yes?

HOWEVER.

In this cg of (past, hi Nergal and Athos) Arcadia from FE7, we see two manaketes in their dragon forms.

Ok. So. One of those dragons in the back is a Fire Dragon (you can tell by the distinctive flame plume wings) and the other is...probably an Ice Dragon? It’s hard to tell for certain because the area where the (lack of) wings would be is hidden, but it has those fins on its head.

Because it confirms Divine Dragons are not the only ones making up the gene pool of Arcadia! This could’ve been easy!!!!!!! intsys i hate your ass!!!!!

Case 3: Color Coded For Your Convenience

Sometimes Intsys is really nice and color codes dragons by type. Sometimes they just tell you to fucking guess. Depemds.

Jahn is a Fire Dragon. He’s red! Ninian and Nils are Ice Dragons. They’re light blue!

Divine dragons in Elibe are....um....anywhere from bright pink and silver. Sophia is...purple, which I guess puts her somewhere in the middle of that range.

It’s not very conclusive evidence, though, is it?

Back to the drawing board.

Case 4: Hybridization

Engage fully confirms that dragons can hybridize between tribes however if I think too hard about this I want to explode.

Case 4: The Cipher Flashbang

You can’t even make the excuse that the skill is referencing Fae or even Idunn because it’s specifically in reference to Sophia cards! HUH??????? ?!?!?!?!?!??!?!??! GIRL WHTA

Verdict

Even putting aside the dubious canon status of information from Cipher, it’s highly likely she’s probably at least part Divine Dragon thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Friede awakens suddenly with eyes flying open and syrup in his lungs. 

Gaze wildly flitting from one corner of the ceiling to another, he struggles against his body’s apparent wish in pulling him back into the remnants of that awful nightmare. He forces himself to breathe even as the air is pulled kicking and screaming into his lungs, eyes squeezed shut. It feels like he’s burning, brow licked with sweat and fire underneath his skin.

Yet his body shakes, chilled like the ice in his gut. Friede knows that he has to breathe but it’s such a monumental effort right now. 

“Pika?” Small, furry paws settle on his cheek as a familiar shade of yellow takes up half his blurry vision. 

“Cap,” he wheezes, eyes settling on his ever loyal partner. From the scrunch of his button nose, Cap’s worried. Friede doesn’t want him to so he pushes himself up, the sweat soaked blanket falling off of his heaving chest. Despite how achy his lungs get, he breathes and breathes and breathes until he’s able to slump back against the bedboard in exhaustion.

Cap wastes no time in settling on his stomach to act as a warm presence that he can focus on. Friede settles his hand atop Cap’s head to give him some assuring pats. 

“‘m fine.” His voice is a little raspy, so he swallows and says in a stronger voice, “Don’t worry Cap, I’m alright.”

Still, he’s unable to fully shake off the horror and dread that his dreams left him with. While the exact image is rapidly fading with each minute that pass, he knows it revolves around Liko and Roy. The kids under his care, the ones who look up to him and has carved a place in his heart.

The pair that makes him worry with every run in they have with the Explorers, the subject of his nightmares where he fails to protect them and all he sees is their still form–

Cap squeaks in surprise when Friede suddenly swings his shaky legs over the side of the bed to get up. Briefly, he gets lightheaded from abruptly standing but he powers on with Cap scampering up the back of his shirt to settle on his shoulder.

Quietly, he opens the door to step out into the cool night air. He suppresses a shiver as it touches his sweaty skin. Light steps carries him to a room near the back of the ship before he slowly opens it.

Friede peeks his head in, ears picking up the light snores first prior to his gaze settling onto the figure slumbering on the bed. Roy’s sound asleep and splayed out like an Octillery trying to spread out and take over everything. Fuecoco curls next to him, equally snoring. 

The view loosens some of that heaviness in his chest. His next breath is easier, shoulders slumping in quiet relief. A part of him wants to go in and properly fix the boy’s blanket but he doesn’t want to risk waking him up. Friede stares at him for a while longer, then slowly closes the door.

Knowing that Roy is safe and sound, snoring away without a care in the world makes him feel marginally better. Now Friede just has to check up on Liko before he’s able to fully let go the tension within his frame.

Turning on his heel, Friede makes his way to the other side of the ship. Passing by Mollie’s room (being extra careful with his steps given that she’s a relatively light sleeper), he’s almost to Liko’s room when–

“Friede?”

Friede just about clamps down on a surprised yelp. He jumps, then whirls around to find Murdock staring at him with a raised eyebrow.

“Arceus Murdock, you damn about gave me a heart attack,” he hisses, one hand pressed against his chest. “What are you doing up?”

“I should be asking you that. It’s my turn for a late night,” Murdock replies, brows furrowing slightly. Something in his expression softens into mild worry. “Are you alright? You look a little haggard.”

Briefly, Friede considers throwing out a little white lie but Murdock’s likely to pick up on it. As if reading his thoughts, Cap lightly tugs at his hair in light warning. He heaves out a deep sigh.

“Had a nightmare. Getting some fresh air,” he chooses to say, eyes darting to Liko’s door. 

It’s silent for a moment before Murdock speaks, his voice light and entirely understanding. “About the kids, hm?”

Friede bites his inner cheek, opting to nod instead. He braces himself for more questions but instead, Murdock surprises him by walking away.

“Come to the kitchen after you’re done. I’ll have something warm for you to drink.”

The chef swiftly disappears out of sight, his words slightly ringing in Friede’s ears. He lightly shakes his head before slowly opening the door to Liko’s room.

Unlike Roy, Liko sleeps on her side with her blanket covering half of her body. Sprigatito is a green ball of fur at the end of her bed, ear twitching to where he’s standing. Friede closes the door, having seen enough to at last settle his heart. He’s exhausted once relief crashes into him but he doubt that sleep would come easy. It rarely does on nights like this one.

Still, Murdock’s offer prompts him to head towards the kitchen. The light is on so Friede enters after the slightest bit of hesitation.

Inside, Murdock appears to be stirring something in a mug. He looks up at the sound, offering him a kind smile before gesturing for him to take a seat.

Friede sits on one of the stools as Cap hops off to stand on the counter by Murdock. 

“I have some for you too Cap, don’t worry,” Murdock assures. Soon, he’s carrying a steaming mug to where Friede’s at.

“Here, have some Tapu Cocoa. Made it just the way you like it.”

Friede accepts the mug with a nod of thanks, finding himself suddenly tonguetied to say anything. A flare of embarrassment rises up at the thought of Murdock having to comfort him like this that swiftly recedes after he takes a few careful sips of the deliciously bittersweet drink. 

While Cap’s slurping away at his mug, Murdock joins him in sitting down on the other stool. He too has his own Tapu Cocoa to drink, and Friede finishes half the mug by the time Murdock says, “I get it, you know.”

“Hm?”

“Getting nightmares. Feeling the need to check up on the kids afterwards,” he continuous in this calm, conversational like tone. “Before for me it’s just about Dot but now with Liko and Roy a part of us too…”

Friede’s eyes dart to the brown liquid in his mug. “Mm. Danger always seem to follow them.”

“Yeah. As the adults, I think it’s natural for us to worry. We want to protect them but… there’s always that what ifs.” Murdock takes a sip of his cocoa. “And it festers until it haunts our nightmares. Felt like the only way to assure yourself is to check up on ‘em, right?”

A silent nod is his response.

“You’re not the only one. All of us wants to ensure the kids are safe.” A soft huff. “Knowing you, you’re probably worrying thrice as everyone here combined.”

If Friede isn’t so busy trying not to burn his tongue, he might have given into the sudden childish urge of sticking it out to Murdock. “Thought it’s Mollie’s thing to psychoanalyze me.”

“Nah, you’re just easy to read. How long have we known each other for?” Murdock chuckles softly. “Still, what I wanna say in the end is just… you don’t have to feel like you need to shoulder everything alone. All of us will do our best to keep the kids safe.”

Friede slowly drains the rest of his mug, falling silent for awhile after he’s done to let Murdock’s assurance sink in. He nods at last, sporting a small smile for the first time since his rude awakening. 

“Yeah, I can count on all of you,” he replies, then cracks a yawn he barely covers. It seems like having a hot drink in him after all of that is finally making him sleepy.

“Try and get some more sleep Friede. I’ll handle this.” Murdock plucks the mug from his hand. He takes Cap’s as well before carrying all three mugs to the sink. 

Friede carefully stands up. Cap quickly perches himself on his shoulder again, though he can tell his partner too is sleepy judging from the way he’s slightly slumped against his neck. 

“Hey Murdock?” Once the chef turns around, Friede flashes him a slightly wider smile. “Thanks for everything.”

He ducks out before Murdock can reply, and walks back to his room with a lighter heart. Sleep still doesn’t come as easily but Friede eventually dozes off, his friend’s assuring words acting as lullaby to lull him into a deeper, dreamless slumber.

1. In terms of powers, Jon’s strongest and Lian/Damian weakest.

Interms of ABILITY I’d actually put Jon at the weakest. I think he relies on his powers too much to make up for any lack of skill, compared to Damian or Lian, who are able to keep up with their powered friends, or Mar’i, who was raised around the Batfam and can fight with or without her powers.

In terms of intelligence, the twins at the top with a combined IQ of 386. Colin is only at the bottom compared to the others, but don’t let that fool you. He’s the smartest when it comes to knowing the streets.

Basically, they’re all the best in one area and the weakest in another.

2. They formed when Lian (the oldest) was 13, and Mar’i (the Youngest) was almost 12, so factor that in when reading any of my fics

Milagro—Mar’i met her fashion idol at a gala (wearing one of Milagro’s designs) and managed to get her a summer internship with her. Milagro kissed Mar’i in her excitement 😂

Irey/Jai—light sabers. Like the really high tech ones. They’ll wear their Hanboks and act like they’re in a KDrama

Colin—first year they were a team, all their parents planned a surprise for him. His teammates got him fun presents, but the parents? The parents helped him get his friends nice presents, then got him furniture and clothes that were all brand new. Just for him. He hugged each of them and kept crying because he wasn’t expecting the love.

Damian—A little before Christmas (I made his birthday the same as mine, December 10th) but his favorite gift was adoption papers from Selina

Lian—Singing with her dad, after getting a new song book and guitar. It made her feel really safe and close with him

Jon— a copy of his favorite Ma Recipes. She wrote them each by hand for him and gave it with a kiss

Mar’i—she found Kor’i’s old stocking the first year on earth. Dick hung it up and, on Christmas morning, it was filled with all Kor’i’s favorite things….including the perfume she always wore. Mar’i was so excited

Lian and Roy absolutely, without a question in my mind, fire an arrow into the ceiling with the star hanging over the tree

5. Every year, without fail, they watch Klaus on Netflix. Omega also has one day they turn in Hallmark movies and just….exist.

Milagro (Texas girl through and through) despises the cold. She spends most her days inside knitting or embroidering. Damian is usually with her if he’s not training. He also learned to knit thanks to her and they enjoy just watching telanovelas together.

Mar’i is fascinated by the snow so she’s usually out and about. Jon takes her ice skating every year (which she’s awful at but he’s actually really good)

The twins, Lian, and Colin? Out side having snowball fights.

There has been a snowball fight amongst all omega while their families were around. Full powers, complete chaos, and the most fun they’ve ever had

Wonderfied Koopalings

Okay so hear me out what if the Koopaling were in Mario wonder and similar to Bowser jr. got wonderfied forms. Now for context, each Koopaling is given an appropriate wonder effect that is based on a boss fight from their last 2d encounter or just their fighting style.

Ludvig Von Koopa

After knocking him out we’re about to grab the royal seed, when he comes back for an encore riding a boo and he grabs the seed merging with the boo turning into Ludvig Von Boo. Now to be fair and honest this is just a repeat of the boo opera level with Ludvig just throwing boos at you until you get to a button that turns on lights and immediately defusing the two.

Lemmy Koopa

After knocking him down he gets wonderfied and we enter the Hoppo wonder effect where the ceiling and floor is lava. Lemmy will throw some conjured Hoppos at you trying to knock you into the lava, now even if you don’t have the elephant power up you can knock the hoppos back at him to the do same thing

Roy Koopa

After knocking him down he gets wonderfied and he enter the ground as he’s merged with the drill power up, but wait that’s not all as he also has the Seeker Bullet Bills. Now it’s obvi that you can’t jump on him because he has the drill hat and while you can beat him with the elephant fruit, fire flower and even the drill your supposed to use the seeker bill to hit him when he comes out the ground

Iggy Koopa

As the lankiest member of the Koopalings, you think I would choose to give him the stretch wonder effect, but you would be wrong. After knocking him down the lanky koopa gets wonderfied and he is now riding on a cloud made of gnashers. Now while you can knock the gnashers out, you really only have to jump on Iggy's head to beat this fight.

Wendy O. Koopa

After defeating her she gets wonderfied and we get a unique wonder effect. Teaming up with the ice block kicking Outmaways, Wendy can ice skate onto saids blocks. Obviously you just have to jump on her head to defeat her, but the aforementioned ice block might make this task difficult as they easily spell your doom.

Morton Koopa Jr.

After knocking him down he gets wonderfied. Morton disappears then holes in the walls open up and we hear the familiar sound of a bullrush stampede and riding on top of them is Morton. Now the Bullrushes will exit one hole and enter a hole perpendicular them while Morton throw magic or something at you and just for the record the room were in is three platforms. Now all we got to do is jump on mortons head while not being trampled by the stampede

Larry Koopa

After knocking him down he gets wonderfied kind of. Because Larry is the first boss where the Koopalings appear his boss fights are normally the most basic or boring from what I've seen. Now that being said this fight utilizes the living pipes and light bridges in conjunction with the elephant power up and roller koopas. If your on the ground when Larry sprays he stuns you so the roller koopas can hit you.
