Giant Monster November :Godzilla vs Megaguirus

For this second installment of Giant Monster November we shall look at a Godzilla film,and this is a pretty big milestone for me personally as I have now seen every live action Godzilla film ,from the original 1954 Godzilla up to 2021's Godzilla vs Kong

In this 2000 film,Godzilla (Tsutomu Kitagawa ) has been menacing Japan since 1954 ,and in 2001 they have finally thought of a way to destroy him ,by creating a black hole.....However a test results in there being a swarm of giant maneating dragonflies called Meganula ...Whoops

So I was gonna go on a big nerd ramble about the complicated history of Godzillas canon ....But that bored me ,so all ya need to know is this is a fully stand alone film,you dont need to see any other Godzilla movies to understand it ,it is not a sequel to Godzilla 2000 ,it just used the same Godzilla costume

So I have seen MOST of the Godzilla series(The animated stuff I need to see more of ),it is one of my favorite franchises ,and what I like is its a a series with variety ,theres a Godzilla movie for whatever your taste is.....And I am gonna be honest....This one is kind of mid tier for me,like not bad but generic .Like its got a cool idea at the opening :What if Godzilla WAS not killed in 1954,like in the original film.....But then does nothing interesting with that .Its kind of a by the numbers Godzilla film:Military force tries to stop Big G when uh oh theres another threat Godzilla must deal with . This song and dance is in a lot of these films ,but the best ones put a spin on it or add in a neat element and this doesnt . It doesnt help the writing really isnt good .Like the re is a kid who causes all this mayhem and destruction by fidning then just dumping the egg that unleashes the Meganula,and .....He just disappears from the movie,doesnt even get chewed out or helps in any way . Megaguirus ,the queen of the Meganula ,is obviously the main villain.She's the biggest threat and her name is in the title.....Why does she feel like an after throught?? Like her and the Meganula are treated more like nuisances and they are so focused on Godzilla .yet Godzilla is very neutral in this film but the Meganula are ACTIVELY hunting people ,I feel like I am taking crazy pills !!!

Keep in mind I" DONT hate this ,I've just seen so many of these that I cant help but see the weakness of this particular entry .Theres also a lot I like in this film .For example I really enjoy our three human heroes ,a major who wants revenge on Godzilla for the death of her CO ,theres a fun laid back scientist and the older scientist is played by Godzilla series veteran Yuriko Hoshi ,and she is magnificent .Megaguirus is a effectively creepy villain and the scene where the Meganula kill a few people feels right out of a horror film .I have always been a fan of the Godzilla 2000 design,so was happy to see that costume used here .The fight between Megaguirus and Godzilla is well done and there is an awesomely hilarious moment where Godzilla belly flops ontop of Megaguirus which is priceless .I will also say it is a fun watch and for me ,with a few exceptions ,Godzilla is all about fun

I think if you are a newbie you might enjoy this one.....But for me there are both ones that are more fun and have more substance

heejin: you knwo that friend who like if u fuck around during the school yr and need someone to help u out w notes and getting yourself together bc u know shes always on top of her game? thats heejin. girly is an all rounder tbh she can sing dance and as much as ppl like 2 clown her for her rapping shes really not all that bad. LIKE shes just so versatile. she showed that thru mixnine which lol i didnt watch besides cuts but if u watch her performing on there and then see her performing with loona 1/3 it’s like complete opposites but she manages to shine no matter what like it’s effortless for her. shes such a sweet girl too i really do feel like theres a reason she was picked to go first bc she has such a likeable personality. shes funny, hardworking, humble (but not to the point to where she downplays her worth), and just seems like a real ride or die type of friend

hyunjin: MY BABY i hav such a soft spot for hyunjin and it’s hard not to??? she comes across as a little quiet at first and she acts like she doesnt care but she does u know she does shes not fooling anyone idc how many times shes told yeojin 2 shut up on camera i know she’d be one of the first if not THE first girl 2 be by her side (and any members side) if some shit went down. shes such a determined little thing too and when she has her eyes on something she goes for it no thinking abt it no questions asked she just does what she wants and thats something so impressive for a girl her age to be able to do. i feel like shes the type of person to just sit in the back and watch more than participate bc she doesnt mind if the other girls take the spotlight like shes such a chill, laid-back soul. i aspire to be like her. and shes so fucking funny really it’s almost criminal how hard she makes me laugh. ALSO she has the best reactions it’s a disgrace more than anything that i dont hav a folder of just her making stupid faces

haseul: the absolute love of my life? THE jo haseul?? theres a reason shes the member i latched onto the most at the beginning and ultimately kinda the member that tied me down to loona for good. like i was onboard w them from the get but it’s her that sealed the deal. i dont joke when i say she really is their guardian angel and no matter what u think of her in the comparison to the other girls u cant deny the fact that shes born leader material. she makes the other girls feel good and at-ease yknow. like she was always around vivi in the 1/3 loona tvs and u could tell it was like 2nd nature to her being by her side as vivi navigated her way through a country and language she wasnt all too familiar with. and like w/ yves for another example like yves if all facts check out was only w/ bbc for a three week period before they debuted her so obviously she wasnt familiar with any of the girls which is why she was so awkward at first. but haseul? bless her soul she did all that she could to make her feel at home. and she has such a beautiful voice i feel like not enough ppl praise her for it. also fuck yg for making her feel bad during mixnine she deserves the world and he can suck my big toe

yeojin: miss thang miss thang. what 2 say what 2 say. first things first shes a trooper. shes a baby i mean a lot of them are babies but yeojin is an actual baby baby i almost fainted when i learned how old she is. but despite her age shes so firm yknow. when shes doing things she wants to do them right to the best of her abilities and shes always striving to be better which is so admirable bc for me personally at that age i was a goddamn mess i couldnt be doing and juggling even a third of the shit she does. and shes right next to hyunjin when it comes to making me laugh shes just so loud and full of energy even 2 the point where i get tired watching her and im loud and full of energy but her being loud and being full of energy kicks my being loud and being full of energy in the ass. if any of that made sense. but theres never a dry eye in sight when shes in the room and u can tell shes such a joy 2 be around as much shit as the other girls give her lol i just feel real protective of her bc shes just so full of life and laughter and i just want her to be out here living her best life

vivi: it needs 2 be said that i have such high respect for any kpop idol who’s from another country bc theres just so much thats going against them. miss vivi is away from home away from her comfort space away from her friends and family away from a place where she can speak proficiently and fluently bc shes struggling to learn a new language and?? on top of that shes doing all the other standard idol stuff. thats some tough shit thats some scary shit but she takes it all on with a brave face and an open mind. and being able to slowly watch her build up more confidence in the language and basically everything else has been such an honor. like when im out here on my weak shit feeling sorry for myself i gotta think 2 myself what would miss vivi do? how would miss vivi tackle this? i lov this girl honestly i would die for her she does so much and i feel like not all of it is fully appreciated but she’ll have her moment i know she will and it’ll only be a matter of time before ppl see how amazing she is 

kim lip: giiiiiiiiirl. lip is such a strong person. like in all aspects. shes crazy talented it’s a little scary to think abt how much she’ll grow once they properly debut as a group and she gets more experience bc?? she just has so much going for her. her charisma is off the charts she can easily pull a crowd if her solo being a real big jumping point in spreading the loona name says anything at all. and shes such a good pick for the oec leader she definitely has those vibes like u just cant help but listen to her regardless of whatever bullshit she says and she says a lot of bullshit but do i liv by that bullshit and eat it up like shes spouting out the new testament u can bet ur ass i do. lip is definitely one of those girls that u cant help but be drawn to like u just want 2 be her bff bc once u remove her from the stage she has such girl next door vibes i feel like she’d be the type of girl u see in the club and u make small talk by the bar bc u made eye contact by accident and all of the sudden before u know it youve spent ur whole night w her and u hav her phone number and plans to meet up next week bc shes so friendly 

jinsoul: i make fun of her a lot. but w good reason: shes easy 2 make fun of. shes so quirky but not in the ironic way like shes really quirky and a bit of a walking disaster but it’s charming and she makes it work. even if shes not ur fav? shes still? kinda ur fav? even if u dont know it? if i made a list of some of my fav loona moments i assure u she’d be included in about 80% of it like shes such a staple to the group i really cant imagine her not being w them i mean i cant imagine the group w/o any of them but jinsoul especially. sometimes i watch loona vids knowing good and damn well shes not gonna be in them but i still end up thinking where is jinsoul?? bc not 2 speak for everybody (i will tho) but no one can get enough jinsoul. also her voice? i love it it’s one of my favs in not only loona but kpop in general. both speaking-wise and singing-wise. it’s just so pretty i really did astral project the first time i heard sitr & love letter. true out of body experiences 10/10 would recommend the yelp reviews are in shes 100% worth It. what is the It shes worth? idk but whatever It is .. shes worth It.

choerry: i just want her 2 be my little sister wow. miss yerim really has my heart. truly the embodiment of :) . shes so smily and has such a strong energy u cant help but like her. in every loona tv shes in shes making someone laugh or smile and it’s no coinkidink it’s bc shes really just that much of a ray of sunshine and u cant help but fall for her. give her some time i pledge w my life that once they debut she is going 2 shine on variety shows theres no way she wont. she has such good sense and shes so flexible. and if lcm is anything 2 go by shes able to switch it up and kill different concepts and sounds at the drop of a hat. def one to keep ur eye on bc u just know shes gonna go far in the future theres no way she wont she has all the tools in her arsenal to make it big no problem. does she resemble the annoying orange? yes and i’ll hate kim lip forever for putting that image in my head but that wont stop her shes truly a force to be reckoned with.

yves: my baby! u didnt hear this from me but i lov her a lot. she was kinda just thrown 2 the wolves w/ her three weeks of training i can only imagine how nerve wracking it must’ve been for her. here is an army of girls bbc has as potential loona members whove been training for years/knew the other girls who were already chosen as loona members/have even gone along for the ride with the chosen loona members to film their mvs and yet shes the one who was picked to be added after three weeks of her being w the company. three weeks !!! thats a lot of pressure but despite that she gave us everything she got. she was real nervous in the beginning anyone could tell when u watched her loona tv arc but she got over it and by the time chuu’s arc rolled around she was joking around w/ the others like it was nothing. shes so funny too but in an awkward way. like she doesnt mean to be but she says and does shit that makes u ?? and u cant help but laugh. her gig with marishe? i have never seen anything funnier like that bitch really took 100+ photos all w the same face and w the same three poses if that’s not talent idk what is. and i dont think it’s been confirmed in writing yet but shes gonna be such a good leader for the eden unit i feel it in my bones 

chuu: when i tell u my heart has skipped a beat over this girl. im not saying it 2 be dramatic im deadass. my heart has skipped a beat multiple times watching her whether it be a fancam or a loona tv or even a selfie. i’ve watched that little instagram update of her in her pig onesie more times than i want 2 disclose. her voice???? oh my god im in love with it. shes such a strong singer like STRONG and u can hear that in heart attack and girl’s talk and see saw but if u listen to her covers shes done before being introduced as a member it’s like !!!!! wow. and she makes a lot of noises. like just incoherent sounds and its so cute i could cry. like i dont have the attention span 2 sit and watch a vlive if it’s not subbed … but i’d do it for her just bc i love hearing her talk i love her voice on any and all levels u could love someones voice. and all her little mannerisms are adorable and this could really turn into me typing a whole mla formatted essay on how i find her 2 be one of the cutest girls in the world but i’ll spare u. and ofc shes not just cute like i said before this girl is talented and i cant wait for loona to grow as a group so she can be on bigger and bigger platforms for more and more ppl to hear her sing bc thats just how it should be

gowon: i lov her i lov her i lov her!! i’d do just about anything for this girl if she asked but i feel like regardless of who u are u wouldnt be able to refuse her even if u wanted to. i latch onto every word she says everything she says is gold. shes so giggly and a lot of that giggling is bc she probably feels awkward but it’s still real cute. shes also lowkey highkey gotta mouth on her like she’ll really come for ppls throats if she feels it’s necessary and thats beautiful to me. she doesnt get enough credit but as pretty as she is more attention should be focused on her talents bc she is a talented girl. her vocal tone is high and ‘cute’ but i think it melds so well w/ the other girls’ voices and theres a lot of opportunity there if and when they decide to create new sub-units/have more duet songs. and my girl can dance im tired of ppl overlooking her bc?? her pre-debut vids are a little stiff ye but theres so much potential there shes such a gem and i cant wait for her to grow more bc i know theres so much she could be doing w/ what she has

On his chakra system compared Kakashi with his implant since it’s more natural and he already magically knows the limits and how it works. Theres also a giant parallel with Minato, another genius who Obito (probably) admired and aspired to be like. Kamui is such a broken ability, aside from Kks, it would be impossible to infiltrate or find. Now, Mokuton. It’s half plant matter, so he photosynthesizes lmao? Just soak in the river for a few minutes and then take a nap in the sun and thats his food for the day. It’ll also be pretty difficult to somehow get food stuffs during a war without being found out or appearing suspicious especially since Madaras would only be able to send out the zetsus so photosynthesizing would probably solve that issue. And having half of foreign substance substituting for actual body parts might put trauma/pressure on organs (I know nothing medically related so this is just wishful logic) and bodily functions. I reject cannon Obito appearance bc it makes zero sense for him to be that TALL with how his growth plates were maybe altered and honestly a short compact ball of rage appearance suits him more. I think it’ll be if he was suddenly distinctively shorter than Kakashi when he’s always been taller. Obito also manipulates plants more than wood, and it seems he has free control over what the plants he can make does. This is such a good technique for traps??? “Oh my god, what on earth is that?”

Both Arthur and Vivi turn around from their respective searching, and watch Lewis as he tensely backs away from his corner.

Immediately, Arthurs alarmed. With Vivi’s concern welling up just as much. They both share a look, before Arthur points to himself quietly, and Vivi nods before stepping back. Although never tearing her gaze away from them and pretending to survey the stacks of books and weapons in front of her.

“Wh-whats wrong, bug guy? What’d you find?” Slinking up to Lewis’s side, Arthur lightly grabs Lewis’s shoulder- only to get an almost violent flinch. A bad sign, Lewis never got like this unless he was having an anxiety attack or-

Arthurs eyes drop down to where Lewis was staring.

Then shaking his head to see if his mind if playing tricks on him.

There was a giant, worn crack in the wall, spanning two feet from the base, and getting wider closer to the ground. And something is sticking out of it, stick like and fuzzy. Twitching occasionally.

That’s ... weird. More confused than anything, Arthur glances up at Lewis and places a hand on his bicep again. “What was it? Some spiders jump out at you?”

Lewis was awfully tense, taking a huff of a breath before goosebumps prickle over his visible skin. “Not exactly. I can handle spiders for the most part, but I’m ... I don’t know what it is.”

O-kay? That’s even weirder. Arthurs eyebrows furrow and he nods with the click of his tongue.

Vivi starts over to them now, the floor creaking under her shoes.

Then Theres more movement. Arthur sees it too, and both him and Lewis jump in surprise.

“See!” Lewis half whispers, half yells, gesturing hurriedly to the crack. “What-! How many legs does that thing have?”

“Lew, buddy,” Vivi laughs, appearing besides Lewis and leaning down. Thank god considering that she’s more of a bug person than either of them could ever hope to be. “Why don’t you back up a bit?”

Lewis follows her advice and steps away from the area entirely, retreating to the book stack closest to the door. Half heartedly muttering, “Let me know if you two need some help or... something.”

“Thank you, Babe~” Vivi kneels down, examining the crack intently.

Not wanting to be awkwardly standing and being useless, Arthur mimics her and crouches close to the ground. Earning a look.

“I don’t think you’ll want to be there, Artie.”

“Wh-why not? This isn’t a problem normally- w-wait do you think it responds angrily to people surrounding it-?” He rattles off.

“No,” She snickers, “I don’t want you to piss your pants if it jumps at you.”

Arthur flushes, glaring at her, “That was one time, and we weren’t even on a case...” he grumbles. Vivi pats his back unsympathetically. Against his better judgement, Arthur stays put.

Actually- no, he would rather not be in the splash zone. Arthur pushes himself up and opts to loom over her to watch. “Tell me if you need more space..?”

Vivi shrugs, slipping a leather glove from her pocket over her fingers and up her forearm, readjusting her bracelets as she does. “Nah, I’m good. Besides, I think Lewis may need more emotional support than me.”

“Hey...” Lewis’s frown was evident in his voice and a chorus of chuckles fill the air for a second.

“Doesn’t feel so nice to be on that end of the stick, huh, Lew?” Arthur couldn’t resist the urge to tease, recalling the few times the two of them said those exact same words to him. Lewis rolls his eyes, but visibly relaxes the smallest bit. Even starting to smile a bit! That’s a plus...

Vivi didn’t pay either of them mind, smiling faintly as she uses her uncloaked hand to trace the crack itself. Part of the paint begins to crumble, chipping away, and the wall around it groans wearily.

“Huh, the walls rotting out. Makes sense.” She says, mostly to herself.

Still, Arthur leans down slightly to watch as she slowly wedges her fingers into the thinnest part she could, “Wh-why does it make sense...?”

A faint scuttling noise draws his attention to the base again- a small cockroach running out.

Vivi takes a slow breath and holds it. Then she yanks her arm back swiftly. Cracking open the wall and ripping out some of the rotten drywall.

And all at once a million small things scatter all across the wall.

Arthur lurches back, a scream lodged into his throat as ... bugs? Crawl up the wall, across the floor, and even deeper into the rotten wall. A few of the oddly shaped, oddly colored bugs sat still on the ground before Vivi’s knees, and she scoops them up carefully.

“They’re Gritters.”

“Wh-What?” Arthur asks, horrified. He’s pretty sure Lewis had simply ducked out of the room at this point, if the faint pacing beyond the room meant anything, but his own legs don’t give him the luxury of moving. Instead he’s rooted in place as the bugs- Gritters continue to scuttle out of view. Unbothered, Vivi stands up and holds the dark colored Gritter in her hand.

“Gritters,” she says again, lips curled into a small, pleasant smile, “They’re the insects of the liminal world- where the supernatural typically reside. They tend to grow in places that are dark, grimy areas with lots of decay. However,” she lightly pets the Gritter’s speckled back, and it jumps in alarm and raises its hands defensively. “Decay can mean anything. Most of the time it is actual death and rot, but emotional decay, physical decay, the wicked? Gritters are drawn to it and can begin to congregate and multiply due to a new food source!” She begins to ramble, listing off various facts on how they take on a mix-matched form...

Although anyone could guess that just from the one she’s holding. It’s shaped like a spider, but it’s back is freckled in mushroom-like formations and it’s antennas (with eyes poking out of the ends of them- horrible) resembled tree branches and feathers all at the same time.

“Lewis! Babe, get in here.” Vivi calls over her shoulder.

Arthur pries his eyes away from the abomination, watching the door frame fill with Lewis’s clear disgust and distress.

“Ye-yes, dear?” He shuffles into the room, looking somewhat nauseated, “Need some help-“

Vivi bounces across the room towards him, holding the Gritter out at arms length, “Meet our new pet! Say hello~!”

Lewis gasps and recoils dramatically, but it’s too late. The gritter leaps from her hand and launches itself toward Lewis, all of its weird feathers glimmering as it does so.

Only to fall short and tumble to the ground. Followed by Lewis’s heavy shoe slamming down on it, splurting an orange substance out on all sides. Gasping again, Lewis nearly wretches, shimmying away and scratching at his arms and head frantically without a care for his neatly contoured hair.

”Oh my god, oh my god, lord in heaven, save me from these demons!” He pointedly glares at Vivi, who buckles over with laughter. “You two are devils!”

Arthur snickers lightly, covering his mouth to avoid making an ‘enemy’ out of Lewis.

But then, as luck (and karma?) had to, something is crawling over his arm now.

Petrified, Arthur risks a look.

And sure enough, a centipede-like Gritter was crawling up his fingers with small, human-like arms and legs assisting it.

”Okay, you know what,” Arthur whispers airily behind his covered mouth, ”I think I hate these things as well.”

Vivi’s laughing doubles, snorting loudly.

“Vivi, please do a man a favor and get it off me. Please.”

“Sure thing buddy!” She gasps between laughs, Brushing it off his arm.

Both him and Lewis sputter with relief as they finally leave the god forsaken room, cracking small jokes about the horrible little night crawlers.

Vivi didn’t have the heart to tell them how common Gritters really were.

More or less than a month had passed since you had confessed your love for Tyler. Your heart had dropped when he said exactly what you were afraid of, what he knew you were afraid of.. That everything would change.

You figured he didn’t say it on purpose to hurt you or anything. But your mind and your heart didn’t want to give him the chance. You began avoiding Tyler after that. It was obvious and you knew it. He had your whole heart in his hands and that was too much for you to handle. You felt all too vulnerable around him. Which was why you weren’t ready to face him. You couldn’t face either of them, really.

Things with Klaus weren’t the easiest either. Now that you were avoiding Tyler, Klaus saw it as his best opportunity to swoop in and mend your broken heart. It was more for your benefit than his, but it was still hard considering you weren't hesitant to shut him down. But the thing was... your heart wasn’t exactly broken. Not yet at least, thanks to your newfound fear of facing Tyler.

The decade dance. It was the 20's and Klaus intended to be there, with you and Tyler in tow. As hesitant as you were, you knew you could escape and be with the girls for most of the night. Klaus had laid out clothes for the both of you, insisting that you would have no idea how to appropriately match the timeframe.

As soon as the three of you entered the school, you slipped into the crowd and found your friends. They instantly picked up on your emotions and carefully asked you questions in regards to Tyler.

"And he laughed, believe it or not." You said in annoyance. It was like a weight was lifted, finally being able to talk about what had been nagging in the forefront of your mind. "It wasn't a bust a gut laugh, more of a chuckle, but still."

"He laughed!?" Caroline exclaimed in shock. "What an ass.. God, why did I ever date him?" She laughed.

"You're telling me.." You agreed, ignoring the pain in your chest when she mentioned their past. It didn't necessarily bother you that she had dated Tyler in that few months between Tyler becoming a hybrid and you becoming a hybrid. They were both happy, and that's all you could ask for, but it stung a little that she had been with him, knowing your feelings for him.

"Obviously, I didn't mean to say it. I'd been hiding that from him forever and it just kind of came out. I was just trying to take a cheap shot at Klaus." You continued.

"Did Tyler actually say anything about it or was the laugh it?" Elena asked, probably loving being involved in relationship drama other than her own.

"He said that it changes everything." You winced for effect.

"Everything?" They asked in unison.

"Everything." You confirmed.

"Excuse me, ladies." You heard Klaus say from over your shoulder. You turned and sighed internally. So much for escaping with the girls. "Caroline, would you like to dance?"

She tried to hide her smile but you all saw it. She nodded slightly, faking a sigh of annoyance, and stepped around the table to take Klaus' outstretched hand.

"And Y/N.." Klaus said before whisking Caroline away. "Keep him out of trouble, would you?"

Once they walked away, Tyler walked up to you. With a deep sigh, you greeted him with a tight smile. Glancing to the side, you saw Elena and Bonnie slip away, motioning for you to talk to him.

"Hey, Y/N." He said softly, standing in the now open spot next to you.

"Hey, Ty." You replied with an awkward nod.

"I guess what you said a while back really knocked Klaus down a peg." He commented.

"What are you talking about?" You questioned.

"That." He pointed to Klaus and Caroline dancing. "He's backed off you completely."

"Oh that!" You exclaimed in realization. "Yeah, but I think it was more to annoy us than any real substance. But let's admit it. I'm amazing." You teased, trying to be normal around him after a month of distance. "Plus Caroline would never admit it but she does like him. A lot, actually." You chuckled.

"You're alright." He teased in return, nudging you slightly. "Besides, she's probably the only woman on earth that does." He joked.

"Honestly!" You laughed. "His own sister can barely stand him!"

He laughed with you and everything felt like it did a month ago. No life changing confessions. Neither of us avoiding the other. It felt the way it should being with him, it was light and normal. It was comfortable.. It was everything you had been missing.

"This was a whole set up, wasn't it?" You asked, still amused at the jokes you made at Klaus' expense. "Luring the girls away so I would have to talk to you? And you even managed to get Klaus in on it."

"Well, how else was I supposed to talk to you?" He challenged with a smile. "It was actually his idea since you've been avoiding me for a month."

"Yikes... That obvious, huh?" You laughed a little, knowing it was.

"Just a little, yeah." He replied.

"Huh." You muttered in realization. "Y'know, I didn't think everything would change, after that day.. But it did. And maybe it only changed because I made it change." You said out loud. "I forced exactly what I didn't want."

"No, Y/N. It wasn't fair for me to say that, especially since you had told me that's what you were afraid of." Tyler argued gently.

"Oh, I said that out loud." You nodded a little. "No, in all seriousness Lockwood, I freaked out. I wasn't ready to tell you for multiple reasons and I-"

"Wait, what reasons?" He interjected.

"What?" You asked, not registering what he had said.

He chuckled before responding. "Why didn't you want to tell me?"

"Oh.. Well, first off, you're you. I mean, you're Tyler Lockwood, the football star. The popular kid. I've known you since we were kids, even if you didn’t know me. And then high school came and somehow you and I became really good friends. Things were great before and I let my stupid feelings get in the way.” You confessed. "And then everything with Caroline. You seemed genuinely happy with her and I wasn't going to mess that up for you. No matter how that hurt..."

“Y/N/N... Things weren’t great. I was hiding something from you too.” He said carefully. "And sure, I liked being with Caroline but it wasn't the same as when I'm with you."

“Oh no.” You groaned. “Please don’t tell me you have a kid roaming around somewhere..” You tried to joke. It drew a small laugh from him which made things a little easier.

“When we were kids, you thought I didn’t know you... But I did. I noticed everything about you before I even knew I was noticing it, hell before I started noticing girls at all. The way you wore pigtails every Friday, even through high school. You had something blue everyday, whether it be your jewelry, your clothes, or even your hair ties. You had this tendency to hum songs while you were coloring and then as you got older as you were writing.” He gushed.

You gently placed your hand on his shoulder as you realized he was getting a bit flustered. A gentle pink flush had settled on his face and neck. His complexion had nearly matched his tie. He sighed heavily, visibly giving in to your touch. Could it be that he was confessing something like what you had told him a month ago? Is it possible that Tyler Lockwood, the boy that brought you to the clouds and through hell, was harboring feelings for you?

“Ty...” You smiled softly. You couldn’t help but smile. Growing up, you had always been in your own world. Of course, the girls were there but there were things that were just part of you. Like the humming, the blue, the pigtails. Those were all minuscule things that you had hardly even noticed yourself doing. But all this time, Tyler had noticed. “I still wear something blue..” You commented, flashing the soft blue bracelet you added before leaving earlier that night.

“I know.” He said with a small smile. “Look all I’m trying to say is that things changed after last month. There’s no denying or arguing. But they changed in a way they shouldn’t have.”

“How should they have changed then?” You asked with a small, confused laugh as you took your hand away, letting it join the other that rested on the table. You couldn’t believe what he was saying. At first, it seemed like your relationship with Tyler could be salvaged and rebuilt into something new but now, now it seemed like it was nothing but rubble. You two would be downgraded to being coworkers for Klaus. Simple head nods of acknowledgment when passing. “Sorry, I’m just really lost here, Tyler. You mean a lot to me, you know that. And I can't lose you. Not with everything still being so new.”

He stared at you for a second, processing your words. You saw the recognition light up his eyes as his eyebrows raised and he began to shake his head. "Oh no no no. Not like that. Not like that at all. Y/N, I- I- I like you, a lot actually. And I didn't want to say anything before because Klaus was always around."

You realized he was about to go on another rant. One thing that most people didn't see in Tyler, was his lack of eloquence in his speech. When he had a lot to say or had something important to say, sometimes he got tripped up or he would talk too much. He would say more than he needed to, which would lead to him saying the wrong thing.

In an effort to silence him, you closed the distance between you two, wrapping your arms around him tightly. He tensed for a moment before melting into your embrace. His arms came around you just as tight. You nuzzled your face against his chest slightly and you felt him rest his head on top yours.

"You were about to ramble." You mumbled your explanation against him. His chest shook with laughter, drawing a wide smile that he couldn't seep

to come from you. You realized how warm a hug from Tyler was. It felt safe, like you weren't tied up in supernatural nonsense. Like you weren't fighting for a family you didn't know. Like you hadn't lost everything in a war you didn't want. It felt like you were just a kid in love.

"Y/N." He said quietly, as if your name was only his to say.

"Yeah, Tyler?" You replied, stepping back slightly to meet his eyes. His eyes were soft as they met yours, full of admiration and love.

"Do you want to dance?" He asked with a sly smirk.

You realized a slow song had begun. You glanced around, seeing Elena with Stefan and Caroline still with Klaus. You knew if you stepped onto that dance floor with Tyler, the questions would never stop. But really, who cared?

You took one of Tyler's hands in yours and pulled him to the dance floor. You linked your fingers together and he gently pulled you close. His hand was on the small of your back, keeping you pressed against him.

"So where do we go from here?" You asked quietly as you two gently swayed to the music.

"Wherever you want." He replied with a small shrug. "I love you, Y/N. And I can wait. This probably seems really sudden so if you need some time to decide if this is really what you want, I can wait. "

You smiled widely, leaning up to place a soft kiss on his cheek. "I love you too, Tyler. I have for a while, obviously, which means I've been waiting for just as long. I don't need time. I know what I want and I want you."

"So you're my girl then?" He questioned with a proud smile.

"It's about damn time, Lockwood." You teased, completely over the moon and head over heels for the boy in front of you.

The next day, the girls came over while you and Tyler were on the couch watching a random movie. Your head was on his chest while his arm was around your waist. You were absent-mindedly toying with the fingers of his other hand, tracing his name with your index finger against his palm. They burst through the doors, shouting your name and demanding an explanation, especially when they saw how you two were laying on the couch. So together, you and Tyler gave them the basic explanation.
