A compiled list of my favorite default replacement and override mods from the past year, plus a few classics that I just couldn't leave out. This is Part 1/3 of a collection of cc finds.

I hope you all had a lovely, restful holiday, and that the bugs in For Rent haven't made you rage quit just yet. •ᴗ• I don't know about you guys, but lately I've been feeling extra grateful for all the stunning creations our modding community has been releasing. So, I figured I'm long overdue for another mod rec list and voila! - here we are.

This time, I'll be linking my favorite default replacement and override mods! While I mostly focused on newer releases, I also tried to add some overrides I don't frequently see mentioned on YT or in rec lists.

GP12 Werewolf Skin Override

This is a repost after my original account was terminated. Something has been bothering me about the werewolf faces since I saw them - the dark ring around the eyes that looks like eyeliner. I’d  hoped we could paint that dark ring out, but nope, it’s a fixed texture. So I decided to remove it! While I was at it, I also removed the pads  from the hands and feet because I didn’t like the way they looked either. I think the edited version looks much nicer, and it’s how all my werewolves will look from now on. NOTES: This is a default override for male and female sims. Cartões Medievais Didáticos - Override!

  Sim, sim... Agora você pode ensinar seus pequenos medievaizinhos com cartões medievais.   Obviamente já testado e estão funcionando perfeitamente, entretanto..., há um “negócio” no jogo que faz o cartão seguinte aparecer, mas isso é do jogo mesmo, não tem nada a ver com meu arquivo.   Esses cartões são overrides, ou seja, eles irão substituir a textura dos cartões didáticos do jogo e caso você queira tirá-los, basta mover o arquivo de sua pasta.

I fixed this shirt's texture

This is a texture override using the original texture of the shirt from the CAS demo. I used to use this shirt all the time and then, for some reason, the texture broke and still hasn't been fixed. So, I scrolled through the FullBuild of the CAS demo to find this texture, which took way too long, so now y'all can use this beautiful base game swatch again!

She is Me

I made these overrides for the 4 dollhouses in game. I believe representation is important, especially when you’re young and impressionable. Little girls and boys need to feel good about who they are and see themselves in their toys and entertainment.

Okay, so this has always been a huuuuuge pet peeve of mine since like, day one of creating a character in The Sims 4. By default, the order of EAs swatches starts with black hair. For me that always made it way too hard to see any sort of details on the hair. Jump to the cut for a sort of TL;DR. I’m a rambler, sorry. Sure, you can change to a blonde or just a lighter color until you find the hair that fits your sim. But if you’re like me and have hairs the don’t use EAs 18 colors, as soon as you click back to a hair that does you’re back to black hair. It’s such a little thing but drove me crazy! So, I changed it. I also use pyxiidis’ Witching Hour colors as my defaults, and wanted the extra colors all merged into one happy little file. So what was originally just a small nit picky fix turned into me fiddling around with files for a week straight. Also, mentioned it in a couple communities and hey! It seems like I’m not the only one bothered by this! Which makes me spending a week fighting with the random gender conversion issue a little less meaningless 😅

I want to throw a HUGE thank you out to pyxiids for the original swatches and recolors as well as the fine folks at witchingreblogs for taking the time to apply the palette to all of the default hairs. It’s saved me a heck of a lot of time being able to use those recolors instead of having to recolor every. single. hair. myself to get the exact same results. I’ve used these existing overrides and their textures to reorder the swatches and create these reordered files. Please, go give them some love if you download these. They deserve it 💖 An important thing to note is that I don’t have all of the EPs, GPs, and SPs. Right now I’ve just uploaded the replacements for the games I have. When I can get other ones, I’ll for sure be updating this but for now, this is what I’ve got. Remember this was originally just for my own use. The other thing is for whatever reason that is currently beyond my figuring out, some of the hairs that are available for both male and female frames refuse to order the swatches all together. if the hair is typically male it shows the swatches in the order I put them, all 36 in a gradient. On the opposite gender it still haves all 36 colors, but it shows the 18 EA swatches first, then the Witching Hour extras. I don’t know why, and I’m over trying to fix it at this point 😂

Tapetes - Override!

Tapetes OVERRIDE para bebês! Perfeito para quem também é pobre como eu! 

ATENÇÃO!

  Você pode baixar todos, mas só pode ter UM arquivo OVERRIDE para um mesmo objeto no jogo (a sua escolha) em sua pasta Mods.   Obs.: Sempre que se coloca um arquivo override, é normal o jogo demorar um pouco para carregar, pois se trata da leitura do arquivo e memorização de leitura, mas depois ele volta ao normal.    Todos os tapetinhos foram testados (haja paciência para abrir e fechar o jogo para cada tapetinho, rsrsrs...) e estão todos funcionando normalmente e sem bugs.

ATENÇÃO!
