Daggerheart First Impressions
Taking a brief look at Daggerheart Playtest document from Darrington Press. This game needs some refinement, but it looks great on paper so far. I definitely see it selling to the Critical Role audience.
It’s awesome for Critical Role fans. The playtest package can be found at this link. I’ve been in this hobby for over 40 years, and I’ve seen many games come and go. Companies with products who looked like they were going to stand the test of time are gone now. Games that looked like hot garbage at first glance are still around today. Darrington Press’ Daggerheart is still very much up in the…

I'm starting my readthrough of Adversaries of the Righteous for Exalted 3rd Edition. It's is the "character book" partner the "moster book" of Hundred Devils Night parade. It's similar in format with contained entries with a single character, but uses the long-form character write ups rather than quick character stats.
The first chapter is mortals, which can be a challenge in Exalted due to the power level of the Exalted characters. That means mortals needs something that lets the punch up, and interesting story, or social connections to really make them relevant. #ttrpg
The first character is a martial arts master who leads the Coiled Viper Dojo and thh Night Talons gang. She gets access to Exalted martial arts through the snake spirit that once blessed the dojo she took over. She's an audacious bandit willing the challenge the Exalted. 1/2
While she probably isn't a threat to a group of player characters, she makes an interesting foil, mentor, or ally.

Caverns of the Underdark: 3D Adventure Set - Short Review
Tumblr media
Caverns of the Underdark: 3D Adventure Set
Pre-painted Underdark scenery pieces that I bought for 4e D&D but ended up actually using for Gloomhaven.
Expensive for what they are but if you can find them cheap they are really nice! I especially liked the pools and how they were made with clear resin.

Wretched Bestiary Review
This book was everything I like about an OSR monster book and more! **CONTENT WARNINGS**: Wretched Bestiary contains NSFW/ NC-17 Art, AI artwork, demons, devils, insects, snakes, spiders, and real world cryptid and extraterrestrial accounts. (*All my ET experiencer friends can relate to the potential trauma, for real.) Please purchase this book at your own peril if you are sensitive to these…

Artificer’s Guide to Magic Items.
I highly recommend Artificer's Guide to Magic Items for anyone interested in the Dungeons & Dragons Artificer Class. Matt Carson and his team have dome a really outstanding job with this supplement. I have high praise for this book.
By Matt Carson of Sector M Games. Available on the DMsGuild HERE. (*Full Disclosure: I was contacted by Matt Carson and received a free PDF copy of the product for review purposes. Thank you, Matt! However, I have not been compensated for a good review in any way.) I really liked this book. It’s available in PDF or color hardcover. It’s already a Silver bestseller on DMsGuild, which is pretty…

The Creature Crafter Review.
A brief review of a very functional, system neutral TTRPG sourcebook centered on bringing new bizarre monsters to the table faster. I like it!
A system neutral TTRPG sourcebook by Tom Pigeon. I bought a physical copy on Amazon.com, but you can also find the digital version here on DriveThruRPG.com. You can also find it on the company’s website www.wordmillgames.comMy first impression was sullied by the buffoons that delivered my order. The envelope it came in was battered, wet, and torn. Thanks, Amazon. I owe ya one. My physical copy…

Shadowdark Review Part 2.
I'm so happy to finally be dropping part 2 of my Shadowdark review. I love so much about this game. Honestly, I can't wait to do more with it.
There is so much to love about the Shadowdark RPG by the Arcane Library. I really don’t think my friend Kelsey Dionne gets enough credit for her brilliance in creating this book. While I am in no way compensated for this review, I am a late backer to the Kickstarter. I would have been a first day backer were it not for financial reasons. Hey, kids gotta eat. Ya know? The first part of the…

Brief Review of Dice Druid.
I have very good things to say about DiceDruid.com. They have sent me some very pretty math rocks over the last few years. Good stuff!
I’m a bit of a dice connoisseur. Every once in a while Dice Druid will offer up free dice, just pay shipping. I shamelessly take advantage of these offerings. They have always sent me very nice quality dice. I also think their actual paid dice are pretty cool. You don’t have to get the mystery sets, but they are pretty spiffy. This latest set came in the mail on September 15th. They’re a little…

The Secret of Zir'An
A brief review of Paragon Game's The Secret of Zir'An. It has a lot of depth. GMs from other games might want to take a look.
Made by Paragon Games. Some of the art is okay. The link to this game on DriveThruRPG.com is HERE. The Secret of Zir’An has been around since at least 2005. I have been unable to get the company’s webpage to load so far. Since the game was originally released under White Wolf, I’m not sure if the company is still around. I might dig around and see if I can still find the writers, at least. This…

Fantaji Role Playing Game Review.
Bringing this review to the forefront because looking through Fabula Ultima got me thinking of it. I think it's important to try different game styles and settings.
Bringing this review back in honor of Indie TTRPG Month. Fantaji is a Universal Role Playing Game, much like FATE, Cypher, or GURPS. It is the brainchild of Calvin Johns and his crew at Anthropos games. I purchased my print + digital copies from DriveThruRPG.com many years ago. The Anthropos website also has some nice character sheets, cards, and so on for your game. There’s a quick start set…

EZD6 RPG Review Revised.
I made some minor changes and revisions to my EZD6 review. I still completely and utterly recommend this game for a fast, eassy, rules-lite game to run for One-shots and Conventions. Please give it a try.
The easiest rules-lite game you’ll ever love. I haven’t been this impressed with a new RPG since ICRPG came out several years ago. By no coincidence, it’s another game by Runehammer. This company just keeps on putting out the hits.My friend on Twitter, @justinarevolution put me onto this game. Her tastes in RPGs are somewhat similar to mine and her skills as a game master are above and beyond…

Shadowdark Review Part 1.
Review of Shadowdark RPG Part 1. This absolute winner made over $1.25 million on Kickstarter. The team from the Arcane Library really did a great job.
Game created by The Arcane Library. Full Disclosure: This review is going to be highly biased. I’ve known Kelsey Dionne since before Shadowdark was born. I consider her a friend and I really like this game. I am a late backer to the Kickstarter, but I would have been an early backer had I been able to. I have believed in this project since I first saw the playtest document. That having been…

The Robotic Age
Looking at The Robotic Age from Trui In One Games. Preston Poland creates a lot of top notch games related to video games, anime, and manga.
A #indiettrpgmonth gem worthy of more attention. True in One games, a small independent game company is alive and kicking with some cool games. The Robotic Age really got my attention several years ago. This is their site. The core book was written by Preston Poland. The story of this game starts off in 2113. Humans, androids, cyborgs, and transhumans live together in relative harmony. Planet…

Singularity System Review
End Transmission Games made Singularity System, a futuristic cyberpunk game with heavy space sci-fi elements. Good game, but not a lot of built-in setting information.
A #indiettrpgmonth gem worthy of some attention. Singularity System is a TTRPG by End Transmission games. The link to the DriveThruRPG.com title is here. Do you like Cyberpunk? Do you like space games such as Silent Death? How about Babylon 5? If you said “yes” to any of these things, then The Singularity System might be right for you. Unfortunately, it looks like End Transmission Games went out…

Scum and Villains Expansion for Galactic 2E.
Jess Levine is the talented author of Scum and Villains, an expansion for Galactic 2E. It's deeply immersive, highly interactive. "This bounty hunter is my kind of scum- fearless and inventive." --Jabba the Hutt.

Knight TTRPG Review.
Knight blends Chaosium's Pendragon with Blades in the Dark and a little bit of the old Birthright D&D setting. It's a refreshing change of pace from traditional fantasy TTRPGs. It's on Kickstarter now if you get a chance to take a look.
By Mark Beren. Knight is currently on Kickstarter if you wish to back it. The Kickstarter’s goal is aimed at getting print products rolling. If the campaign doesn’t succeed, the product will still be available on DriveThruRPG. The Demo booklet is already available here. Please go take a look at it.This game wastes no time jumping straight into the action. Character generation is right up front.…
