NEW YORK, NY — In a controversial decision that has further divided an already fragmented nation, officials at New York City Hall have replaced the long-standing statue of Thomas Jefferson with a statue of Lizzo.

The highly publicized swap saw the statue of the nation's third president and prominent founding father, which has been present in City Hall since 1834, replaced by a new statue of the beloved singer, rapper, flutist, and twerker.

"This is a far more accurate depiction of where we are today," said Professor Blake Rumsey of the American Institute of America. "Everyone is tired of hearing about people like Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. What great things have they done in the last 200 years? Nothing! It's time to install a monument to someone who plays a much more prominent role in American society in 2024. Hence, Lizzo."

The music star, who also garnered attention in 2022 by playing the flute of Founding Father and fourth President of the United States James Madison, expressed tremendous pride in receiving the honor. "Move over, Tommy Jefferson! There's a new queen in town!" she said when the statue was unveiled. "I'm shinin,' ya'll. People think you have to be a certain way to become something important, but you just gotta be you. I don't even gotta try. I am my inspiration. Thick thighs save lives, ya'll!"

At publishing time, word had spread throughout economic circles about a sudden global shortage of bronze after an inordinate amount of material was needed to create the statue of Lizzo.

Diddy Says He Stopped Lizzo’s Dance-A-Thon Twerking Because Of Song’s Lyrics

Diddy caught an adequate amount of flack online after he shut down Lizzo twerking during his fundraising Instagram Live dance party. Fans assumed Diddy’s request was based on fat-shaming, but Diddy explained it was because of the Cuz I Love You singer’s music bawdy music choice.

On Sunday (April 12), the former Puff Daddy hosted a dance-a-thon via IG Live to raise money for frontline healthcare workers combating the coronavirus spread across the nation. With celebrities chiming in like Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez, Draya Michele, and others, the effort has thus far raised nearly $4 million.

What seemingly got fans hot at the Bad Boy mogul was the fact he cut Lizzo off mid-twerk as she danced to Moneybagg Yo’s “1 2 3” track, which features lyrics such as, “She a bad b*tch, eat the p*ssy like a spinach/She’ll suck d*ck on the way to the dentist” and other related themes.

Hopping back on IG Live, Diddy explained that he stopped Lizzo from dropping it low because of the song’s lyrics.

“It was a lot of cursing in the record and I don’t need child services knocking on my door right now, you understand,” Diddy said after calling Lizzo “one of the best twerkers in the world” and that twerking is “allowed to twerk on Easter.”

Diddy continued showering Lizzo with love and praise, but not before blasting the sideline chatter by urging those observers to stop looking for the negative.
