But, what feels like the biggest deal today in some ways is that after more than 9 months of complete, top-secret radio silence (285 days!), live-action ATLA is back with official news! This is a really good sign for times to come.

It’s also cool to me that they made their own special announcement for this rather than including it in Netflix’s Tudum Global Fan Event with dozens of other shows and movies, which was only just a few days ago. Because this show is special, it’s set apart, and it’s gonna be BIG. Now we just wait...

Ghosts are heading to the Library of Congress.

The CBS comedy will have a screening and a panel discussion at the library which is the main research arm of the U.S. Congress and the home of the U.S. Copyright Office.

Stars Richie Moriarty, Danielle Pinnock, Asher Grodman, Román Zaragoza and Rebecca Wisocky will be hosted at the event on April 9. It will also include a presentation of library items curated for each ghost’s time period.

It will take place in the Coolidge Auditorium at 6:30pm ET, following the display of items in the Whittall Pavilion.

Ghosts, which follows a couple, played by Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar, who inherited Woodstone Mansion in upstate New York, only to find it inhabited by spirits, is currently in its third season.

Pinnock plays Alberta, a saucy Prohibition-era lounge singer, Moriarty is Pete, an upbeat ‘80s scout troop leader, Grodman plays Trevor, a slick ‘90s finance bro, Zaragoza is Sasappis, a witty 16th-century Native American and Wisocky plays Hetty, a society woman and wife of a 19th-century robber baron.

Brandon Scott Jones, Sheila Carrasco and Devan Chandler Long also star

Ghosts, which has been renewed for a fourth season, is produced by CBS Studios in association with Lionsgate Television and BBC Studios’ Los Angeles production arm. Joe Port and Joe Wiseman are the showrunners.

After being forced to push the Season 3 premiere date for its hit comedy Ghosts to February 15, 2024 amidst this summer’s dual strikes, CBS is readying for its return to production, star Danielle Pinnock has revealed.

“We start shooting on Saturday. I fly down to Montreal. We’re going back, baby!” exclaimed Pinnock tonight, in conversation with Deadline at the red carpet premiere for her new Amazon MGM holiday film, Candy Cane Lane. “We did a table read — those scripts are good!”

Pinnock expects the show to shoot “only 10 episodes this season,” rather than the 18+ that have been put out in its first two go-rounds, because of both strike-forced delays and the fact that her co-star Sheila Carrasco is expecting her first child. Still, she teased, “those episodes are fierce and the audiences should prepare themselves.”

Developed for CBS by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, who serve as showrunners, Ghosts adapts the popular 2019 British comedy series of the same name from BBC Studios. The show follows the story of Samantha (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), a struggling young couple whose dreams come true when they inherit a beautiful country house, only to find it’s both falling apart and inhabited by many of the deceased previous residents.

In discussing the show’s forthcoming season, Pinnock revealed that fans can expect to see more of her character, the Prohibition-era lounge singer ghost Alberta, as well as Hetty Woodstone (Rebecca Wisocky), one of the original residents of the home Samantha and Jay inhabit. “This season,” she said, “Alberta’s going to be in her shenanigans.”

*6 Corporate Lessons from #GADAR2...*

1. *Never underestimate experience:* A 67 year old Sunny Deol comes and destroys all major box office records. The guy who delivered his last hit a decade back (Yamla Pagla Deewana 2) and faced a flurry of flops and disasters in years to follow returned to deliver an all-time blockbuster

2. *Respect your product:* Gadar - Ek Prem Katha was an all-time blockbuster too. The makers didn’t rush up to make a sequel. They waited for 20 years to find an ideal follow up and created a product which was much loved all over again.

3. *Don’t overspend:* It’s the big idea that matters, not the big spend. In the times when even love stories are being made at a budget of around Rs. 200 crores, here comes an action film which has been made at just Rs. 70 crores. That’s the kind of moolah that’s being spent on so-called ‘content based films’ these days, and Gadar 2 makes an out and out mass masala commercial film out of it

4. *KYC - Always the most important point - Know Your Customer:* The makers (Anil Sharma, ZEE Studios) knew that they were catering to the length and breadth of the country, especially the interiors, and not just those 5-6 major cities. They didn’t make a classy feel for the multiplexes to earn quick money; they made a massy film to reach out to the lowest common denominator. The ticket price would be less, but the footfalls would be exponential, and that will take care of the revenue

5. *Same, same but different:* The product needs to be a mix of what the consumer wants and what they could potentially need. Give them something new but don’t deprive them of something that they have loved. They want Sunny Deol? Give them that. They want enemy bashing? Give them that. They want patriotism? Give them that. However, add a pinch of something new. This time, let the son (Utkarsh Sharma) go to Pakistan to hunt his father (different), but then eventually let the father save his son and bring him back to India (same same)

6. *Save the USP:* Every product worth its salt has a USP to it; something that distinguishes it from everything else, and just can’t be replicated. That’s where the hand pump scene comes into picture. You can make an entire Gadar 2 to Gadar 10, but you need to have the USP intact. Bring it at just that point of the narrative when audiences can no more bear the agony of the legendary moment make a comeback. 21 gun salute to the person who conceived the hand pump scene and ensured that the USP lives on for next two decades as well.🧿🔥🕉️
