ANCIENT INDIAN FOOD TECHNOLOGY
In Vedic times, a complete meal had to contain all the six tastes: pungent, acid, sweet, salty, bitter and alkaline. It also contained five types of food bhakshya (crunchy/chewy), bhojya (semi-solids), choshya (suckable, like mangoes), lehya (lickable, like honey) and peya (drinkable).
Ancient Indians divided all food into three categories based on their effect on the taste buds, the body and the mind. Saatvik foods include whole grains, honey, sprouts, nuts, pulses, milk, fresh fruits and vegetables. They are nutritious, simple and juicy, and make the brain calm and clear. Rajasik foods include very hot, sour, dry, salty and spicy foods, eggs, fish, meat, etc. They heat the body, stimulate the senses and make the mind restless. Tamasik foods include red meat, alcohol, onions, garlic, overripe fruits and fermented foods.

*Upma was served in a breakfast every morning in a hostel with a capacity of 100 people. Out of those 100 people, 80 people used to complain every day that different items should be made instead of upma.*
*But, the other 20 people were happy to eat upma. The remaining 80 people wanted to cook something other than upma.*
*The hostel warden voting method was proposed as some decision had to be reached in this chaotic situation.
According to this, whichever tiffin gets the most votes, that tiffin will be cooked that day.*
*20 students who wanted Upma cast their vote accurately. The remaining 80 people cast their vote as follows.*
18 - Masala Dosa
16 - Aloo Parotta & Dahi
14 - Roti & Subg
12 - Bread & Butter
10 - Noodles
10 - Idli Sambar
So, as per the voting results, Upma gets the highest number of votes, and again the same is served every day.
*Lesson:* As long as 80% of the population is selfish, divided and scattered, 20% will rule us.
*This is a silent message.*
*⨠âĄâ¨* vote wisely

Tripura is a very popular tourist destination. This state, located at the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in northeast India, is famous for its rich cultural heritage.
The main tourist attractions in #Tripura are sites of historical value. The most prominent among them is the Ujjayanta Palace, a picturesque white structure in the heart of the state capital, Agartala.
No less majestic in its architecture is Neermahal, whose name means âwater palaceâ. Many migratory birds flock to the lake adjacent to this architectural monument. Water sports are available here and a boat festival is held in July-August.
Tripura also features many temples, some of which were built thousands of years ago and are still famous for their traditions.
The state will not disappoint wildlife lovers either, as it is home to large nature reserves and national parks. The most famous of these is the Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to an impressive variety of flora and fauna.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was ardently devoted to his mother Pravabati Devi. That's why Netaji had profound veneration for his mother's Guru, Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra.
After passing ICS, Netaji decided not to join the service under the British but to serve for the liberation of his motherland India from the clutches of the foreign rulers. In fact that was the crying need of the hour. Having so decided, Netaji approached his mother to seek her blessings. Mother Pravabati Devi directed Netaji to meet her Guru, Sree Sree Thakur at Satsang Ashram Pabna. Thakur arranged a chair in front of His bedstead for Subhash Chandra
Bose, ICS.
Netaji bowed before Thakur with profound respect and did not sit on the chair meant for him instead Netaji sat on the ground. When Thakur insisted, Netaji humbly told that the ground is the ideal place for him to sit before His mother's Guru ! That's the instinct Netaji inherited from his parents to respect the venerables.
Since the first darshan of Sree Sree Thakur, Netaji got attracted to Thakur's divine personality.
Netaji opened his heart to Thakur that he had decided to serve his country but he was confused where to start from.
Thakur reacted that one should start serving own country by undertaking the fundamental task of man-making. Thakur implied that unless we have dedicated youths having instinctive zeal with selfless sacrificing passion for serving the country one cannot do it alone.
Netaji referring to Vivekananda's teaching said that youths can be imparted necessary education and can be appropriately trained up to serve the country.
At this, Thakur expressed (what He had earlier told to Deshabandhu C.R.Das, who had accepted Thakur Anukulchandra as his Guru during later part of his life) that without inborn instinctive characteristics for selfless service to the nation, mere imparting education and training to youths would not be of great help for the nation. Thakur reiterated what He had told to Deshabandhu that we must encourage "compatible marriage" among the Indians at every family, in every village and towns of India to build up the familial, social structure of India, which had been "rotten" following the politico-cultural conquests after long spell of foreign rule. In this way Thakur shared deep concern of India and Indian people and showed the road map of achieving Freedom. Without dedicated manpower neither freedom could be achieved nor independence sustained in full spirit.
By 'compatible marriage' Thakur meant that the bridegroom should be of higher or compatible origin than the bride so far age, culture, habit, education, dynastical heredity etc are concerned so that there exists ever lasting respectable relationship between the couples.
Compatibly married couples are also supposed to uphold Dharma and Love - their principles in their individual and collective lives and to maintain the values of life under the guidance of a Living Ideal, who is the embodiment of Dharma and Love, called the Fulfiller the Best.
Thakur urged upon both Deshbandhu and later Netaji to spread this ideal of 'compatible marriage' all over India so to expect after 25 years a new generation of dedicated youths of huge number with inborn instinctive full dedication to the nation to fight for the liberation of the nation in a confident way. In fact, it would be easier for us to achieve the goal of perfect liberation of our country, as Thakur opined.
Netaji was highly impressed with Thakur's new concept of making man from the "womb of the mother" having been imparted right kind of education under a Living Ideal, who is Fulfiller the Best.
Netaji was also inspired of the living demonstration of the dedicated family lives of the Satsang Ashramites under the Living Example of Thakur Anukulchandra. Because Thakur spoke only what He saw, what He knew, what He experimented in life. That's why Thakur's words had an appealing effects on Netaji.
Netaji realised the gravity of inborn dedicative instincts and forceful motivation of the youths for rendering selfless service to the nation and also felt that this involved long term sustenance of the process having no alternative.
Netaji was so deeply inspired by Thakur Anukulchandra that he always kept the image of Thakur along with him wherever he goes. It was reported that in addition to Thakur's image, Netaji also kept with him the Gita and the Tulsimala (garlands of holy Basil, the sacred plant in Hinduism). Netaji used to carry these Trinity, the most invaluables always with him during his outings.
Even Netaji kept Thakur's image in his bed room at the residence on the Elgin Road, Calcutta from where Netaji finally disappeared and escaped from the strict vigil of the British guards. Many visitors later have found Thakur's image still hanging on the wall inside the bedroom of Netaji there.
Thakur Anukulchandra understood the accumen of Netaji but our so called national leaders did not at all.
I strongly believe, had all those national leaders unanimously extended full support for Netaji at those crucial juncture of his lonely unique fight for India's Independence, India would have gained undivided independence and would have been Super Power 50 years before from now, for which India has been still struggling today.
On this auspicious Birth Anniversary day today we salute our bravest son, National Hero !
Long Live Netaji !!!
