Isla and Seb do the Necrom main quest as a pair, where he does anything that requires going to Apocrypha, and she does side quests in the Telvanni Peninsula while he's busy and tags along for the main quest events in the Peninsula. The one exception is when he's about to enter the Mythos to fight Blightcrown and Vaermina, and she demands entry to go assist him. As much trauma as she has with daedric realms and bargains with Princes, her one weakness is knowing Seb is placing himself in danger on her behalf and she refuses to let him do this alone.

This whole story has played out very interestingly for Mora as a character in Isla's story - he knows he needs the help of the Hero but whether or not she would agree is difficult to ascertain. She's opinionated and loud and knows better than to trust a daedra after years of experience, but she's also exhausted and very close to reluctantly accepting her fate because she knows she can't stop it. She doesn't form attachments to people like she used to, in a way that would give her a cause to fight for. But the one way she would Willingly choose to fight on Mora's behalf and genuinely care about the way things end? Involving the one person she has opened her heart to in the last several years into his plot.

Ohhh thinking about how Darien's Words of the Fallen note tells the player "Don't trust her. Don't trust any of the Daedric Princes. Not ever." and how that completely solidifies Isla's distrust and hatred of daedric princes and anything daedric related, after one made her lose her husband Twice.

And how almost a decade later, she's confronted with a daedric prince telling her that she has to work with him to save Nirn and sign into a contract with him to do so. It's triggering old traumas from the Planemeld, the Daedric Triad, Deadlands, of having to work with daedra to save the world - because she alone has to do it - only to be betrayed and still lose something or someone. How scared she is to be forced into giving away another piece of herself to the Hero title...

But instead, her best friend, her most trusted confidant, the person she's spent the last year and a half healing with and learning to love, steps in to sign the contract on her behalf, knowing the pain it would cause her to do so. Instead of making her sacrifice her vow to her husband, Sebastien steps into the Hero's shoes to learn about her experiences and protect her like she's always protected Tamriel.

I've played Skyrim and Oblivion in the past and am actively playing Elder Scrolls Online (NA/PC) and it is the focus of this blog. I've never played Arena or Daggerfall (despite the url) and only barely "played" Morrowind and never will. I've done a good amount of endgame stuff as a tank main (sometimes dps main), but my heart will always belong to my characters and their stories.

My favorite trials are Cloudrest and Sunspire, my favorite dungeons are Scalecaller Peak, Stone Garden, Unhallowed Grave, and Coral Aerie, and my friends will say I have an unhealthy relationship with Blackrose Prison. I have all trial tris up to Kyne's Aegis and three Unchained clears. I'm that Breton Hero guy and also that Relequen guy and am rapidly becoming that Leramil guy.

In the past and on my old url I was more active and social but after roughly 6 years in tesblr, I'm tired and have very little tolerance for people being annoying for one reason or another. I'm not here to argue about whether or not ESO is canon (it is, how are people still arguing this 10 years later) and I'd mute if it existed - if you get caught up in a block then ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ I'm just here to post my little guys and my dungeon tri achievements.

I'm more social on our ESO discord, Scalecaller's Minions (invite link embedded). Our mods are @scalecallerpeak @yffresbeard and @tonal-modulator and it is 18+ (we're just all adults now and prefer no minors there)

Off to a good start with midyear mayhem already with over a mil AP gained just in Cyrodiil! I made it my goal this event to focus on getting my rank up on my main Isla. Started from 15 and already almost 19 on day 3 of the event, while working full time :) just need to hit 20 for the coveted Captain rank

She's also a skilled ambassador and negotiator. Why Someone Might Love Them: she's the badass hero who cleaved molag bal in half, saved the lives of gods, fights dragons 1v1... she has a lot of admirers across tamriel for that. she would work herself into needing medical attention trying to help others. she's also pretty uwu Why Someone Might Hate Them: despite being a tamriel wide hero, she's still pretty loyal to the covenant and so people assume she's a cov spy a lot. She butts her way into problems without being asked because "i'm the only person who can deal with this", and while she is right because of how Heroes work, not everyone gets it (understandable as well). She's judgmental about daedric worship and necromancy and holds a damn good grudge (outside of offering people a chance to redeem themselves). She's been a Hero for long enough that sometimes she has to make decisions that are just the lesser of two evils and not everyone understands those decisions. How They Change: she mellows out of her teenage angst and works to unlearn her impulsive hate of daedra, undead, and the like. she grows to go from viewing being the Hero as the best thing that could have happened to give her life direction, to a curse she has to bear for the sake of tamriel. she dedicates herself to her daughter, to helping people redeem themselves from involvement in daedric cults, and working with the covenant to end or win the three banners war Why You Love Them: she's my first eso character, my main, my best girl. she perseveres as the Hero, not because she wants to, but because she must. she's the story of a hero who has been forced to give her life to the world, and slowly grows to want more than that, more than being a piece of the story.

God I just wanna say that after the fiasco that was dark heart of skyrim and playing as a vampire, playing blackwood as a dark brotherhood member is SUCH a breath of fresh air. The amount of characterization it gives with the timing of the reveal and it not even happening during the prologue, the player feeling guilt over keeping it a secret, how upset Eveli gets at not being told this sooner and just in general. Getting to see Elam again and your dark siblings expanding into new territory. It actually feels like I can accurately role play as my vestige who feels tremendous guilt over her time in the DB and fear of them retaliating against her and her daughter.

Theres obviously still dumbass moments of "who's dagon" but there good moments so far have been amazing

Wanted to do some OC thoughts on Blackwood for my main girl Isla

I know the timeline in eso gets really thrown off, like everything happens in the same week, so in my own timeline, Orsinium happened nearly 10 years before Blackwood. Isla and Eveli met in Orsinium as a couple of young 20 somethings seeking adventure and being burdened with Hero responsibility. While Isla was able to brush those events aside as a seasoned Hero, it was Eveli's first. All she could take about forever. It was her favorite story to tell, and nothing else could top it.

When they meet in Black Drakw Villa again, Eveli has had some adventures but not many. Isla has fought daedric princes, dragons, and ancient vampire lords. Not much can shake her anymore, but shes much more hardened emotionally. Isla is less angry and quick to jump to passionate emotions, but also doesnt relate to Eveli's bubbly and youthful personality despite being a similar age. Seeing her again really shows Isla just how much has changed for her and her bosmer friend to have become such vastly different people.

She realizes they're a part of something much larger that is growing when they find the book. Eveli doesnt realize this. But for Isla, it's just part of the routine. She's accepted the fate that is the Hero. To constantly be walking into events, creating and changing prophecy, becoming the Hero. It's what she does, but it feels different for Eveli. With Abnur, she didn't care, she just wanted to clean up his mess. With Fennorian, she felt bad, but she didn't know him well before. Eveli though, she knew Eveli. She was very proud of her, but to see the perky little wood elf she knew from Wrothgar and know she was getting dragged into some world ending event where more people would die. She was upset! Why her, why Eveli? Leave her alone, fates!!!

But she had to accept it, because Eveli wasnt leaving.
