My partner and I celebrated our 20th anniversary together last month. A few people asked me the ole “what’s you’re secret?” question and it’s made me think about this topic a bunch lately.

(First, a disclaimer. I don’t think monogamy is a superior way to approach life, it’s just worked well for us and people seem interested in what it’s like to experience it this long so this is only me speaking to my firsthand knowledge.)

You ready for mind blowing wisdom? The truth is that the largest element of longevity in a relationship is luck 😂 I mean, I could tell you healthy relationship tips, of course. We were so young when we stumbled into our relationship that we made a ton of mistakes and have learned and grown, thankfully. But the single largest factor to our “success*” is that nothing arose that split us up. Along the way a few of our friends sometimes broke up because there was abuse or betrayal present, sure. But the MUCH MORE common reasons? No one was “at fault.” Life just took them different directions. One partner wants kids, the other doesn’t. One partner wants to move cross country, the other doesn’t. They survive a shared trauma that’s too much to move past. Attraction wanes. Shared interests wane. Values change. Life goals change. Pressures of family interference get in the way. Feelings change. One partner discovers a new interest, religion, or career path that becomes a deal breaker.

Basically, people change and that’s all luck stuff, folks. Like those things didn’t happen to me largely just because they didn’t happen to me 🤷‍♀️ There’s lots of enthusiastic commitment over here, but no magic ingredients. My partner wanted to move cross country and I was down for a huge change mostly bc my previously beloved job had ended up burning me out bad. When we were 20 we had daydreamed together about our kids someday. Then at like 34 I finally admitted to myself I never wanna be pregnant like never ever and SURPRISE LUCK! My husband is even more childfree-life-oriented now than me. What if he kept his original interest in having biological children?

Who the hell could ever predict how to grow together in continuously compatible ways? Basically, you can’t. Sometimes when I think about how terrifying it is that life is extremely random and out of our control, I also decide to feel comforted that this shit IS all just random and out of our control.

(Closing disclaimer: stuff like treating your partner with an enormous amount of respect, addressing conflict in direct and healthy ways, honesty, respecting boundaries, and being their biggest fucking cheerleader are all very controllable but this post isn’t about that. See my “healthy relationships” tag for various things like THAT.)

Vice Versa ep 10

Oh the pink and red/blue and purple of it all.

First, I can't believe I predicted something so spot on! It's their pink. When I wrote the below, I was just hoping I was on the right track but to have Puen say it himself at the end? 🤯💯

What else can I say? Other than now that Puen and Talay are together, and following on from all the scenes with these colours in ep 9, there were again a lot of these pairings in the scenes with Puen and Talay. Starting with the opening scene:

Fuse and Kita at the film premiere...and the red wall behind Kita and the sky blue of the film poster to the right of Fuse (also Up in a blue suit):

Then all the friends together:

Even in the brief bar scene there's the blue/purple lights on the wall and the blue jeans with Up's red sweater, the red drum kit, and Talay's pink trousers:

And at the food stall, pink behind Puen and the group and blue to the right (the extra in the middle also has a blue and red striped top):

In the close up of Puen, he's in red and the blue lights are behind him:

Back at Talay's apartment (the lights have been different colours throughout the series), and not once...

...but twice...with the blue on Talay's side and the pink on Puen's:

And in Puen's very blue room, he pulls out Pakorn's favourite boxers (there is also a red 'bust' to the right of the room visible in the wider frame shot):

And finally, Talay's suit - blue with pink pinstripes:

So at this point, I think it's clear that Pink is and always has been Puen's colour...and @nolastpage, you mentioned in your tags on a reblog of my post that you hoped we'll get to see Talay's colour...well, I think Talay's colour is blue. First, his name means 'sea'. Second, the very first ep was Ocean Blue. Third, he wears a blue bracelet in this universe. And fourth, all these blue/purple and red/pink pairings lean towards it being on the blue-indigo scale.

In both a support of this and also to make things a bit confusing, in ep 7, Puen sees some lights when he's out with Pang -> "blue, orange, light blue (I think he says "si fah" which is blue but 'fah' alone is sky), and pink" - and wonders what to call the 'tone' of these colours. Pang suggests "Talay" or 'sea'. This could indicate a few things -> that Talay's colour is the blue in that mix (because Puen is the pink), that Talay really is a blend of all those colours, or that Talay's colour is whatever you interpret 'sea' to be - potentially the blue of the water with a pink sky and orange sun...much like this perhaps? (actually, I don't think this helps at all 😂 It's maybe just a cool connection).

Anyway, so it could be that we'll continue to get these colours in ep 11...but, whilst Puen and Talay are separated, I think there'll be an absence of them. At least around Talay there'll be less pink and around Puen there'll be less blue. But I might be wrong.

(What is interesting is that when I go back and look at some of those scenes with pink and blue, there is often some orange or a sunlight-type glow...seriously, scroll back up and have a l👀k).

In part 2 of ep 10, Puen and Talay talk about how Talay has ended up 'liking' pink because it reminds him of Puen. They come to the conclusion that this is the thing that they have in common and will enable them to get back to their own universe. Whilst this may or may not be true, in writing the above about the moment in ep 7, I was reminded that Puen has also picked up something from Talay - he adopted the habit of naming colours because Talay usually does it. So perhaps it's not just the colour pink that connects Puen and Talay but ALL colours, naming colours, and being aware of them...

But actually, it might be more than that. Because, thankfully, being each other's portkey ended up NOT being about them falling in love...but more about about how they change each other in the process of falling in love. About how pink goes from being something Talay hates to something that makes him think of Puen. And Puen starts to see colour, be aware of it, and name and associate colours with people and places just like Talay does... Make of that what you will.

Anyway... I loved that they both seemed so on board and on equal footing about saying their goodbyes and preparing to leave and that they were both committed to going back when it happens. Only, it happened for Puen but not for Talay...yet! I wrote a whole load on this here, so I won't repeat myself...

So next week?! Well...here I come with my clown predictions... because I've mentioned a few times now that I've wondered if we might get a reversal of the first three episodes -> we've had the Pink to go with the Soft Blush (which I LOVED that Talay called Puen's pink colour 'shy' when Soft Blush was when they started connecting), so perhaps next week will be a green (a 'sea' green maybe?), and then we'll get a blue to finish it up. I have a theory (and share it with @grapejuicegay) that Dol might actually be Talay's portkey (that they might be the person we see in the overhead shot with Talay in his dream) and it was interesting during their goodbyes that Dol had a blue and green striped top with a pale green shirt over the top:

And then, the wishes on the tree are blue, pink, and green. I mean, come on! This is just screaming at me. (The title screen also blended green with pink before it settled on the latter).

But, you know, I might be wrong. Ep 11 might also be something quite neutral in vibrancy (I wonder about a beige/sand palette) due to Puen and Talay's separation...but whatever, I could go on and on, so I'll stop 😊 (oh and I talk about Fuse, his shirts, and Aou here).

Positively Pleasant ‘P’ Words Tag Game

Upon predicting the password to procure the pined after prose, I’m pondering the paradoxical feeling of pride and perturbation. Perhaps this puzzlement proves the philosophical predicament of whether perpetually pushing for pleasurable pursuits only pollutes our ability to perceive the peace provided from our passing progress. Maybe proportional precaution is needed to prolong preoccupation before its purpose pales against the prize.

(AKA, I found the word, but now there’s no other side quests to focus on. 😂)

Past

“I don’t understand. He’s smart, and funny, and has so much potential… Why is he making choices to sabotage himself, and… I just… ” she let out a frustrated shout, unable to put the rest of her thoughts to the adequate words.

They walked for a bit longer in silence until Nick stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. He pulled back out his pad and wrote out another note, slower, more thought put into this message.

‘The world isn’t kind. You fight back against it or blend in until it becomes who you are too.’

She nodded with a sigh. The idea was insightful, and she couldn’t argue with it; it actually made a lot of sense the more she mulled it over. Harold had many times made the comment about his past, how he had been regarded, his treatment from peers and even family. Maybe that was who he became now too, but she truly hoped not.

Power

Further dream discussion took off. Were there drugs that could help? Could there be a way to block this? There were no answers, only another point nobody had touched yet, one which Glen felt a need to chime in on: did they want to?

"It seems to me, we're getting set up in a tug of war. Whether it's good vs evil, judgment day, powers higher than us playing a game, who's to say… What is clear to me: there's a protagonist and an antagonist forming, and these dreams, they’re giving us background. We take that away… well then, we're just opting to play the game blindfolded. Now, can’t speak for any of you, but personally I'd like to read the premise before making moves. Maybe, I don't know, maybe there’s something useful buried there."

Harold scoffed at the idea. "So you're saying what? Our dreams are relaying vital information so we can, what, fight for God or the Devil?"

"I'm saying I don't know. But I’d like to.” Harold scrunched up his face, still not giving it any real consideration. Glen took a couple more puffs from his vape, and pressed on with a light chuckle, "I think I know what your problem is, Harold."

"Glen…" Stu tried to give a warning to not poke the bear. Glen never knew how to listen to that instinct however.

Present

(Possible gore tag, but I had to. It not only has Present, but Past and Pull too.)

Maybe Hayden did have a history in medicine; as she stated, there was no way to know. But to do an invasive surgery without even remembering those past experiences? That wasn’t even touching the fact there was only a small possibility it was there in the first place.

That was just the basic facts. The little things, the barely visible shimmer of light in the cavity, the way muscles and skin seemed to move away or pull together on their own milliseconds before Hayden’s hands got there, how these events coincided with a distinct drain to her... If he wasn’t already looking for irregular things, these would have been dismissed. Tricks of light. But they were too far into the unknown to turn back now, and his eyes were open.

He wanted to ask her about everything. Not necessarily the past; she would only give him the same sad smile and shrug as she always did. But her thoughts at the time… Did she see what he did? Did she know?

The ordeal was clearly taxing on her, so he was fine to leave it on the back burner for now, but he couldn’t unsee what he saw. By the tree earlier, she wasn’t completely present. His mind equated it to a dimmer switch and she was set to low. If she wasn’t actively on his mind, he would have completely overlooked her sitting there. The differences between the girl he met on the trail that first day, and the one sitting by that tree; he couldn't explain it, but he would certainly not forget it.

No, she was a puzzle with too many missing pieces, but he was good at filling in blanks.

Pull

(I had a decent excerpt from earlier in Chapter 9 - one of my personal favorites for reasons - but then I went down a little further and noticed there are FOUR uses of Pull in this Harold dream. FOUR! I feel I need to now post this in shame for my lack of variance.)

Harold pushed himself up off the pavement. Blood lingered in his mouth, and he spit it off to the side of the road. The asshole with a beard threw a punch, but Harold felt a pull backwards.

Beard tried to steady himself as a gun appeared in Harold's hand. He held it up and pulled the trigger. One threat down. Scruffy douche bag to his right was an easy target. Another neutralized. One more to go.

A shot rang in his ears, but it missed by a mile. He spun and quickly pulled the trigger on the third assailant; three for three.

"Feels good, doesn't it?"

Harold nodded. Moving to hand the gun back to Flagg, he noticed the man's expression had changed, eyes adopting a red glow and his smile widening. His hand now moved over Harold’s own, taking aim for him. The movement was quick, fluid, and when the dark man pulled back, Harold’s aim was now set on Redman. "Keep it."

Looking back one last time, Harold could now longer see the denim clad figure, but he could still hear his voice. "You may find a use for it."

Harold went to tighten his grip on the item, but his hand closed further into a fist. The gun was gone, but as he slowly relinquished his grasp, a black stone with an unnatural shine revealed itself in his palm. A real smile found its way onto Harold’s face.

(I was decently worried about this one. There are only two times this has showed up, and one was literally the last section of Spiral, so guess this is all I got…)

Sitting at the desk, she made herself comfortable and grabbed a pen. Nobody could really miss one blank book in a cottage full of hundreds, and she felt like doodling. But this one was not longer blank. Quickly scanning the pages, she noticed it was all observations she had. Specifically about Glen.

When she closed the book and turned it over, she noticed his name beautifully written along the spine. Standing in a rush, she began to scan the room again. Another book lay next to Glen's; 'Stuart Redman' was written in bright lettering.

She backed away and noticed the previously blank canvas on the wall was now an acrylic painting of Kojak; the signature H.F. was printed in the bottom corner. Another hastily done paper sketch of her, Glen, and Kojak was pinned next to it.

Turning to her left, she stopped dead in her tracks when she noticed the dark painting sitting on the floor by the door. Blacks, grays, and two bright red eyes. 'Flagg' scrawled across the bottom in blood red calligraphy.

Maggie: A Sudden Realisation

An: So I’m rewatching the show right? I forgot Mathias was in both Arrow and Gotham and that’s the whole reason I chose him in the first place 😂 @animegoddexx was the one who convinced me to intertwine the two shows more. So thank him for that stroke of genius all those months ago. Barton was the one who gave Fish her new eye. Ahhh there’s so much I could do with this!!?

Omg omg, I just realised that Maggie’s “father” Aka The Dollmaker, has met Fish Mooney. He was operating in and out of Gotham. That makes her choosing to move to Gotham to get away from her problems either a lot more stupid, or a lot more suspicious.

Thanks to Grod she now no longer has her memories of being Molly Maddox blocked. She remembers that man kidnapping her and everything he did to her. What if she perhaps came looking for Fish, but was too late when she got their, leading her to find Oswald instead.

How different would Maggie be if she was taken under Fish’s, and more over, Carmines wing instead. Of course Oswald, and Victor and Y/N all have their connections to the old man. But none of them work directly under him anymore, but Fish was his right hand woman for a long time. Surely his influence would rub off more directly on Maggie if she hung around Fish.

Also I said “father” cause she no longer believes that. She was orphaned as a child, found by him, then recused by Oliver. And because Robert actually died at sea, Maggie never got to meet him. She prefers Maggie over her full name, because she doesn’t want to be what the Dollmaker made her. He was the one who named her, and that name was all she ever thought she knew.

Also not to spoil things but… you have been warned.

As much as I like teasing and bullying Jimbo, because I don’t like him as a character. I committed to making him and Maggie end game. I’m just having my fun before then lol. It’s not a joke anymore. Imagine how freeing it must feel when she finally gets to be “Maggie Gordon” not Magnolia, not Molly, just the real her. 🥺 They just have to stop beating around each other and realise they could actually work quite well together. But I’m an evil writer so it ain’t happening anytime soon 😈

I think it would be so interesting if Maggie lied about her reasoning for coming to Gotham, both to her adopted family, and the Zsasz’s. But she said it so much she just tricked herself into believing that. Forgot her original goal and just rolled with the punches. I mean girl could not have predicted anything that would happen the second she stepped foot into that town.

If you were to walk up to teenage Maggie and be like “hey, in the future you’ll be living with a crime Lord and have a weird family relationship with his lead assassins. You’ll find you’re soulmate, but the two do you are too stupid to realise it. You’ll meet a kryptonian and come to see him as your brother, and a little rebel girl as you’re sister. Half the city is either obsessed with you, or trying to kill you. And you’ll commit at least 2 murders before you realise what’s happening. You’ll have to choose between two sides, follow the original path your brother set, and help young Bruce, or fall to your demons and become a Zsasz.”

She would think they just smoked the most diabolical mix of hallucinogens. I don’t think Maggie could ever be a hero, at least she doesn’t think she could. But to become and Anti Hero, or descend, into full blown madness and become a super villain? That’s Maggie’s eternal question, and I can’t wait to see where all your guys Headcannons steer me in my writing! This is why collaborative writing is so much fun. Even you don’t know what will happen next!

An: oh and for further time line clarification, the actress I chose for “older Maggie” technically doesn’t exist until Bruce comes back to Gotham at the end of the show. But it’s really hard to find more menacing gifs of Danielle Campbell than it is of Phoebe Tonkin so that’s why I switch so much lol. But we’re stuck with baby face Maggie for a while 🥺 still so young and naive.

I don’t know if this has been picked up on before, but I am losing my mind over it so I want to share my journey with you. May I present my descent into: Zen’s Algae Report.

It all started when I paused the beginning of episode 14 to see what Zen was writing about and was amazed and highly entertained to find that it seemed to be a report on, of all things, aquatic algae.

This naturally piqued my interest, so, being a loveable-yet-rather-obsessive-scamp with a passion for words and too much time on my hands, I set to work attempting to transcribe what he wrote in that brief scene.

In the transcription I put hyphens (---) wherever the next part was not visible and put asterisks around words I believed to have figured out, though they were partially obscured (Zen’s hand moves in the scene so more words were revealed). Multiple asterisks just mean I have a note about it at the end. 👍

"--- erie could experience one --- severe harmful** algal bloom --- a potential measure of 8.7 on --- the severity index, according --- oceanographic institution.

--- which have different colors *and textures*. Blooms can appear in a variety of colors that depend on the algal species. The aquatic ecosystem and organism --- cyanobacterial blooms, the formal name for the blue-green algae, are the problem here. Their presence means cities and local governments must *spend more* to --- water, puts swimmers in *high concentration*”.***

**this was written as one word - 'severeharmful' - and had me stumped for a while :') I like the thought of this word existing in the ans-verse and the characters using it :D

***after spending too much time rewinding and pausing to see parts of words as zen's hand moves to reveal them, I could make out 'hi --- oncentrat'. I believe it's meant to say 'high concentration' but WHO KNOWS

It was only AFTER typing all this that I found out The Truth.

The first half-word that was at the top of the page was bugging me because I couldn’t figure out the letters. So, being the loveable-yet-slightly-perfectionistic-scamp that I am, I racked my brains over it until I realised it could read as “-ake”. The following word, “erie,” hadn’t made sense at all, so I couldn’t see how I could use it to try to figure out what this “-ake” word before it could be. I decided to google the word “erie” in case it did mean something that I was unaware of. And guess what I found?

“Lake Erie” is apparently the fourth-largest lake (by surface area) of the five Great Lakes in North America. This may be common knowledge to Americans(?) but as a loveable-yet-entirely-European-scamp this was news to me. I was obviously thrilled as this worked for both words and made sense, but I was also surprised that Zen appeared to be writing about a very real, and not ans-verse, American lake. 🤔

I wanted to see just how much of His Algae-Loving Highness Zen’s report was true, so I searched for “lake erie cyanobacterial algae”

Something I love in ANS is that Shirayuki wears the things gifted to her, and not just as a one-time thing; ever since being given earrings by Yuzuri she regularly wears them, and the hair ornament that Obi gave her she wore for the majority of her Tanbarun stay, and then she mentions how she wears it as a good luck charm and was distressed when she left it behind after going travelling. (I think she also wore it at another fancy occasion but I don’t remember which). When Ryuu and Obi get her a new hair ornament she wears it almost immediately.

I like how these gifts are not just used as something to move a scene along, they are significant to Shirayuki and mark progression in her relationships.

Also! You can see how much she treasures them just by the fact that she continually wears them, no comment needed, no close-up necessary. (Apart from the first time Obi noticed she was wearing his gift, then we had a zoom and an OMG moment from him, understandable, Obi)

RetJ Fandom Survey Results (Part 2)

This is the second part of the Romeo et Juliette musical fandom survey that was conducted in November/December of 2019. For results re: productions and actors/characters, as well as disclaimers and caveats, please see Part 1.

SHIPS

Ranking results by Average

As ever respondent had to rank every ship, there was no need to do two different averages here as with the characters/productions. Some of these results are very predictable for anyone who has spent some time in the fandom on tumblr or AO3 or similar platforms (Bencutio). Others are a little more surprisings. For example, I would have expected Romeo/Juliet to do fairly well in a fandom for a canon titled, well, Romeo and Juliet, but I think this is where we see some difference between transformative fandom and more “passive” fandom, as this ship is clearly better liked than the amount of fanworks/fandom content created for it would seem to suggest.

I would say that, overall, I’m not very surprised by the Tycutio result. This was an English-language survey and this ship does seem to be more dominant in at least some non-English fandoms than in English-speaking fandom. (As an anecdotal illustration: the A03 R&J All Media Types tag has 330 Tycutio fics to 284 Bencutio ones. If you we filter to English-language fics, suddenly we get 254 Tycutio fics to 275 Bencutio ones.) Also, this is a ship with more conflict and darker themes, which may be a factor. (I do have a theory here, involving the dynamics in current fandom shipping in general - and perhaps this fandom in particular - but that’s a topic for a different post, as it is not demonstrable by this survey alone.)

A surprisingly high rank for the Montacrew OT3, which makes me wonder if there were people who overlooked/misinterpreted the “ot3″ marker and voted for it as gen. (Because, otherwise, where are you guys and come talk to me please!)  It does present a nice solution for anyone shipping both Bencutio and Romercutio where no one gets left out. I’m deep enough in the fandom to not be surprised by the relatively high rank of Tybalt/Paris, though I would have been surprised by it when I was newer. On the other hand, it makes sense in an environment where most people appear to be shipping Bencutio and R/J (and are not averse to Pare The Spares combinations).

Ranking results by “Gold Medals”

This feels more surprising, mostly in regards to Tycutio - that’s half the first picks than either R/J or Bencutio, despite the fact that Tycutio seems widely popular. And it is popular - it’s only 0.3 down from Bencutio in the average rankings. So what gives? Probably this:

Tycutio is a very popular second place pick. But it does appear, at least among this survey’s respondents, to be a smaller number of people’s OTP.

Side Note: Some trivia! Every single ship had at least one last place vote. So, yes, even the most popular ships are someone’s NOTP. 😂

Correlations??

(Note that the survey wasn’t designed to be ideal for the following types of analysis, and this section is kinda just for fun/dicking around with numbers. Don’t take it too seriously.)

I kind of wanted to know if there were any correlations between people’s preferences. i.e. Do People who like Bencutio dislike Romercutio or Tycutio and/or vice versa? Do people who ship R/J also tend to ship Bencutio and/or vice versa? This isn’t the best data set for these observations, probably, because people could only give one rank to each ship. Also, correlation is not causation, so what conclusions we can derive from any of these correlations are very limited. Still. It’s fun. So here are some R values.

For those who haven’t taken or don’t remember statistics - the R value (Pearson’s correlation), shows the strength of a correlation. The closer the R value is to 1 (or -1) the stronger the correlation. Positive values show a positive correlation (e.g. people who ranked one ship highly tended to rank  another given ship highly too and vice versa.) Negative values show a negative correlation (people who ranked a given ship highly tended to rank another ship low too and vice versa). Now, again, admittedly this doesn’t tell us too much for various reasons. For example, our strongest R value here is -0.612. That is the correlation between Bencutio and Tybalt/Juliet. But without going into the data in more detail we can’t say whether or not this is because Bencutio shippers are rating Tybalt/Juliet low consistently, vice versa, or some of both. (But, Bencutio shippers are likely the driving force here because there were very few people who ranked Tybalt/Juliet high. With other ships, this caveat is more of a factor.) However, while Tybalt/Juliet was generally ranked low, Bencutio is the only ship with which it has a moderate correlation of any kind. With most ships there is nearly no correlation or only a very weak one. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, it has a weak but positive correlation with Romvolio.

We can say, however, that most of these ships don’t seem to have strong correlations to each other. Which means to suggest that we, at the least, don’t seem to have a ship war on our hands (lol) and even ships that could be considered rivals don’t necessarily effect each others ranking. (in fact, sometimes we even get the opposite - for example, Romercutio and Romvolio have a statistically significant (n=42) moderately positive correlation.)

Correlations with productions?

So then I wondered if there were any correlations between favorite ships and favorite productions. This relationship seems a little more straightforward but, of course, we still can’t determine causation from any of this. And ideally, the way this dataset would have been put together is to have everyone give each production a score instead of a rank and then each ship a score instead of a rank. This would probably be more probative. But it’s still interesting to see if any connections exist! I didn’t run the correlations for every production, but I did do it for the Revival, Hungarian, Italian and Austrian. I chose these in part because they are four of the most widely known and in part because all of them had some canonical aspects that I felt could bolster a specific ship or ships. (E.g. - canon Romercutio in the Italian, a canon kiss for Tycutio in the Austrian, Tycutio baiting in the Revival - and potentially a good prod for Bencutio - and what, IMO, is canon subtext for Romercutio in the Hungarian.)

I was really rather surprised that Tycutio has a none-to-negative correlation here. I see a lot of Tycutio fans who are also big Revival fans in the wild. Interesting that Tyris fans have the only moderate correlation here and a positive at that. IOut of the four prods I ran R values for, this is the only one where Romeo/Juliet have any correlation worth mentioning (though still not a statistically significant one). Bencutio do have a positive correlation here, but a very weak one.

 Some interesting results here. Romercutio does have a positive correlation here, but a weak one. Paris/Juliet is probably not that surprising - this seems to be the only RetJ Production where Paris is played as more clueless than sleazy. The moderate-positive correlation for Ben/Juliet is surprising! This is also the production with the strongest correlation with Montacrew OT3 out of the four I looked at. The fact that it’s a negative one, in this production, surprises me.

No particularly outstanding correlations here. Although, i will mention that I was surprised that all the ships I would have expected to correlate positively with this production...don’t. Romeo/Juliet is the highest one, and that number is so close to zero, it’s effectively no correlation.

Because fewer people ranked the Austrian production, we need slightly higher R values in order to get a statistically significant correlation and none of these quite hit that mark. (Well, everything over 0.3 does at the 0.05 confidence interval, but not at the 0.25 one (2 tailed test).) However, we can still say that a few of these are moderate correlations. For example, this doesn’t seem to be a production for Bencutio. On the other hand, Mercutio/Juliet has a surprisingly positive correlation to this production.

So I see you've been watching a lot of British Tv. What are some of your favs???

Hmm well I adore Fawlty Towers and watch it with my dad, but my favorite has to be Open all Hours and Still Open all Hours. I've got a soft spot in my heart for Ronnie Barker and David Jason, and Stephanie Cole as the Black Widow is delightful. She's the reason I listened to Cabin Pressure! I adore both shows and watch them pretty often as background noise.

Another favorite is the Good Life! the antics of Tom, Barbara, Jerry, and Margo are some of the funniest things I've ever seen.

When I was a kid I watched Jakers obsessively but I've never met anyone who's seen it. It's probably why I love Scottish and Irish accents so much!

Keeping up appearances and are you being served are also fun tho I don't get around to watching those as much.

OH I JUST REMEMBERED!!! Father Ted! I know it's an Irish show but I've gotta mention it because that is *the* funniest thing I've ever seen. truly a masterpiece.
