my wowcraft novel reading list btw: Stormrage, Shadows of the Horde, all the other ones concerning the night elf characters (I just took a peek and there are so many????), Wolfheart (I have heard that Maiev is bonkers yonkers in this one and it’s very divisive which means I need to read it).

if you have any other recommendations pwease let me know. so far I have only read Shadows Rising, Illidan, and War Crimes, and am still working thru the latter two

As always, he is there when you need him.

Hands on your shoulders, first, warm and massive and fingers curled around your comparatively smaller form. He could crush you like this, you think, just with this, the weight of his palms alone pinning you to the earth beneath your feet, but it's steadying, somehow- grounding, keeping you right here, right where you need to be. There is a learned gentleness in this, and restraint, gold eyes on you in an unflinching, measuring stare, but there is no fear of harm in this, either, and this, you know, is a certainty.

A breath passes between you two, and he seems to find what he's looking for, though he says nothing. He pulls you towards himself- firmly, brooking no argument, but still gently. This is something that is needed, apparently, something he must do, and he isn't satisfied until he's enveloped you completely in his embrace. If the weight behind his hands was something to be reckoned with, then his grip goes further still, making a fortress of himself around you. He is a veritable mountain of a man, but there is more give to his frame than there appears at first glance. He is undoubtably solid, but soft, and the warmth that emanates from him is inescapable. Head burrowed into his chest, you can feel the soft fluttering of his breath on the top of your head, and there is something deeply grounding in the steady beat of his heart, the inhale-exhale of his lungs. You are home, here- he is yours, you are his.

i didn't talk about this dream in yamyell because i forgor, but i had a dream like a few months ago where garrosh got redeemed a bit. he came back from the dead because he was needed to defend azeroth, and i guess he was just in revendreth paying for his sins and like actually trying to become a better person or something. when he came back to azeroth, he started writing a poem to baine, which laid out the fact that he had indeed learned to be a better person, and he hoped that baine would like the poem.

I also had to do a quest for him in which i killed a bunch of animals for meat and stuff and made him dinner. i remember the text quest saying “oh, you nourish me in my own camp with this feast? how honourable!” if i remember correctly the feast was of cooked strider eggs and also strider meat. i hope you liked this :]

I just started playing wow. Perhaps it is because i am an old person without much knowledge of these things, but you know, your posts really give me the wrong idea about Garrosh. It was surprising to know that he nuked a whole city. World of warcrime even.

To be fair i followed you for orc thirst and some memes. I was never really a "gamer", maybe i should have read the fics and the text posts. Oh well, nice grindy game though. I am playing as a holy priest vulpera!

yeah he is umm definitely a criminal guy. i mean you saw his book right? it's literally called war crimes LOL

i used to talk about the garrosh meta more when he was still a living character, and back when i had more to say that i hadn't already said about it over the years. but yeah the tldr on my attachment to garrosh is that he started out as a way, way different character than the character he was eventually railroaded into becoming, and so it sucked to watch suicidal orphan become genocidal dictator then vaporized in super hell. i have a lot of feelings about it because im also mentally ill™ n all that, cautionary tale, blah blah.

i'm glad youre enjoying the game! I've been playing wotlk classic lately and enjoying the trip down memory lane, as well as the old game mechanics, but there are quite a few quality of life improvements in retail that i do miss. if you're ever on wyrmrest accord server, feel free to hit up Arete! Hi Swampgallows I'm sending my lore question of the day directly to your ask box.

So, does Garrosh's name mean anything? "Dranosh" meaning "Heart of Draenor" suggests that Garrosh would also mean "Heart of" something, right? Is there a canon answer or do you have your own speculation? Also sorry if you've already spoken on this before.

zeyan my friend zeyan we love zeyan i will always talk about garrosh even if it's the same thing a billion million times!!!!!!! Garrosh means "Warrior's Heart" in Orcish! Garrosh's short story is called "Heart of War" which references this, but I think the confirmation of the canon was in a now-deleted tweet available on the wayback machine.

HIs dad is Grommash, which means "Giant's Heart" also, with "Grom" meaning "giant". I think it means "giant" as in the creature rather than a descriptor of "very very big", since there's also a WC2 orc building called a Temple of the Damned translated as "Grom'bolar" or "bowels of the giant" in Orcish. It spawns necromancers and death knight units I guess. And Grom'gol base camp in Stranglethorn is most likely "Home of the Giants".
