Favorites of the Nureyev Gala:
Ladies:
Alina Cojocaru: Haunting and beautiful performance in Don Juan. I was very moved.
Yasmine Naghdi: She was just so fresh and clean, beautiful lines and gorgeous arms. Her performance as a whole was just so easy and comfortable.
Maia Makhateli: Such a charming performer, sharing lots of little moments with her partner Ivenko, she really lights up the stage.
Men:
William Bracewell: So elegant, so emotive, so tasteful
Oleg Ivenko: Beautifully paired with Makhateli, charismatic stage presence
Marcelino Sambé: So much fun to watch in Laurencia, perfect for this part
Alexandr Trusch: I hadn't seen much of him before, but will definitely look out for him now, really fiery and powerful on stage

🩰 For Kadee!
Let's go!! I assign Kadee Yasmine Naghdi's Juliet Variation!
Yasmine's take on the character here is so fascinating to me. She exudes the usual youthful joy and innocence, but she also brings a little bit of shy nervousness to the character. There are moments where she looks to the performers in the background like she is seeking their reassurance, and it's so endearing! I think it's a very fitting addition to the character: Juliet doesn't quite know how charming she is. As she moves through the variation, you can see her gain confidence and authority.
That, along with the sweetness Naghdi dances with, read to me a lot like Kadee does! Who deserves to have a wonderful time at a ball more than Kadee? Absolutely nobody, that's who
