Chapter One: First Ghost Sighting

After the strange encounter you had with Jennie on the subway, you couldn’t stop thinking of her last words, “I gave you a present” they were replaying in your head, making you feel confused yet alarmed. You frantically checked your pockets and belongings to see if maybe she stuck something on you, but nothing. Nothing felt different either, you smirked thinking she’d made a mistake, but you’d soon prove yourself completely wrong. Your home was still far away so a taxi was needed, especially this late at night. It was dark and the alleyway you were near was completely empty, giving your setting an eerie vibe snd to make matters worse you were alone, which wasn’t very comforting. Your taxi had finally arrived, making you sigh in relief not having to stand there anymore. As you reached for the car door handle, another hand appeared next to yours, startling and making your jump back a bit “W-Who are you?” You asked laying eyes on the figure, she seemed pale, too pale. The small figure wore sunglass and had long hazel brown hair, and had a pretty floral dress on with a cardigan, she was surprised that you could see her since it’s been months since she has spoke with someone, let alone a human. “Will you help me find the hotel?” she asked nicely but you still stood in fright, “Why are you wearing sunglasses?” You asked, your fear sounding list disgust which she didn’t take very well. The women huffed before taking them off, revealing too black holes where her eyes were supposed to be. You screamed in fear, never seeing such a thing, it made your body tremble. Instead of jumping in the taxi and driving off, you ran. You ran as fast as you could but found it to be no use as she was faster than you thought. And then it clicked, you suddenly stopped in your tracks thinking about what happened before on the subway. In that moment you heard Jennie’s words whisper in your ear, releasing what “gift” she was referring to now, “ghosts” you mumbled under your breath in disbelief as the small figure still stood in front of you “you’re making me see ghosts!” You yelled out in irritation, Jennie watching from afar giggling to herself. “Im Yoojung” the small ghost introduced her self reaching her hands out once she heard your voice “Please help me” she asked softly. But you continued to run. Your mind was racing with thoughts, there’s no way you could work at that dreadful hotel, your intentions weren’t meant to be rude but ghosts gave you chills and could not bare being more than 5 feet from them. “It’s rude to run away from a lost soul Y/N” Jennie spoke revealing her position, sitting on one of the brick walls “I just hired you and you’re already failing” she chuckled. Yoojung walked senselessly reaching her hands out for your help. Jennie saw the trashcan in front of her and smirked, you shook your head viciously as her stilettoed foot stretched, threatening to knock it down “I won’t only if you agree to work at the hotel” she smirked “Your choice Mr/Mrs.Y/N”

Seo Joohee is a guest residing at the Hotel, she hasn’t been there for long but enjoys it. She is very shy and will disappear whenever she blushes or becomes flustered. She falls in love too quickly.

Backstory

Joohee recently died in the passed year, she lived a quiet life, she studied art history and wanted to pursue her dream of being a painter, but it wasn’t that easy unfortunately. Joohee was born blind, she struggled making friends in school and even after graduating was still alone. She kept hoping to find some friends, but the ones she tried making just pitied her.

One day after class, she took a walk to clear her mind about some things. While doing so she smelled something delicious on the way, following the scent brought her to a nearby bakery, where she met Hyunjun. He was a baker working there, “Are you looking for something?” he asked her “The bread baking, it smells delicious” she smiled. He took the bread that came from the oven not to long ago, “this one? it’s my favorite” he smiled taking her hand and letting her touch it. Ever since, she always visited the bakery to meet him. Joohee started to fall for him, hoping he’d felt the same.

Joohee was on her way home later than usual one night, deciding she’d stay back at the library to study for awhile. Before crossing the street, she’d listen to the traffic lights as usual before crossing but while doing so an oncoming motorcycle came from nowhere and hit her, sending them both flying from the impact. She laid there bleeding out reaching for someone to help her, the man she’d loved taking her hand made her realized who hit her. She smiled lightly but frowned once he let go, leaving her to die.

Joohee lives at the hotel longing to meet him one last time, her memory of him being her killer somehow got erased. No one has had the courage to break the news to her about her cause of death. Joohee believes Jinyoung is a good man and won’t leave til they meet.
