I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'm glad that they removed cauterize because now, support champions can do more & Hi-Rez just plain HAS to give older champions more attention since Skye, Willow, Tyra, & Mal'Damba are must picks because of their anti-heal & champions like Kinessa & Viktor are seeing use because their high burst damage makes healing more difficult. Overall, removing cauterize might have actually been for the best

even if you don’t play DnD definitely go see honor among thieves; it’s super fun and well-done and accessible to people who’ve never played. if you want a slightly enhanced experience, do what I did an go with folks who do play, and ask them some of their favorite settings, character types, creatures, or tropes on the way over so you can be delighted when you recognize something.

Gimly's D&D 5E Player Characters - #7
Name: Astra Harrowe, the Wolf Spider
Race: Half-Moon Elf
Class: Seeker Warlock x. Whispers Bard
Background: Courtier
Ability Modifiers: +5 Charisma; -2 Strength
Campaign: The Lost Mines of Phandelver campaign I had originally played as Tree in began to spin off into a bigger thing with at least two whole extra campaign books thrown in, and Tree had kind of run her course, so I asked if I could bring in a character of my own creation, and thus, Astra.
Backstory: Astra was a Harper agent who had been installed in a small castle, posing as a courtier to learn its goings on and return information to the Harpers, and ensure that their values are being upheld there.
She was recently reassigned to Phandalin to quietly investigate rumours that the Lords Alliance have seized unwarranted control of the town, and that Order of the Gauntlet agents had also been dispatched there. Her orders were to discover if these other factions intend simply to provide aid the town of Phandalin, as had been suggested, and if so, to assist them as best she could. If however their motives are to use hostility to take Phandalin as their own territory, she is to report back to the Harpers immediately, and co-ordinate their downfall.

i feel like something important that’s really dropped off in the age of cheap, mass produced items is finery. i find something very valuable in my grandparents’ china with gold leaf accent that only comes out at thanksgiving, the porcelain nativity set my mom and aunt painted together, the hand embroidered tablecloth i spent too much money on in budapest because i wanted something to pass down. and not just the value that comes from it being expensive. obviously not everything can be something well made and expensive- and i wouldn’t have much of this stuff hadn’t been passed down to me- but i think we’re all a little too used to .50 cent target dishware and h&m shirts and ikea furniture. we need 90 year old bone china tea sets or grandpa’s gold cufflinks or great aunties mink stoll for our health.

how are we coping with ‘vor as kairi’s grandma’ deconfirmed
yeah that's about as well as i took it lol
it feels like SUCH a missed opportunity to me!! and like, the ending of UX and now, Dark Road, is the first time in the kh series that biological ancestry/paternity has been introduced into the series with Eraqus and Xehanort, so it seemed like a no BRAINer lol funny joke to me that Vor could have been her grandmother. Just take the layup!!!
and also like dude. They gave her so much depth so quickly in this last update. I remember her saying: "The longer I stay in this bubble, the harder it will be for me to get out of it." and I literally paused the video and just sat there for a second, because wow, that is something I really needed to hear, and I heard it in this freaking mobile game. Not wanting things to change, but knowing you have to... also why did she want to be a master??? you cant just leave that unsaid!!!
And watching the upperclassmates swoop in and help her in the end, everyone so desperate to save her only to fail in the end... that was the death that really truly affected me. she seemed a bit younger, a bit more innocent, than the rest, and she seemed like the golden girl of the group, everyone loved and cherished her. and as you said on another post, seeing her with these unfulfilled dreams truly expire... that was tough.
You also talked about the subtle animations they put into these chibi characters, and I ADORED all these little things Eraqus did with Vor: he ran in front of her and put his arms out to shield her he would hold her hands or her arm, CHASING HER AROUND THE CLASSROOM. I loved all the little, subtle ways they conveyed his love and care for her. I miss her already and goddamnit IT WAS RIGHT THERE NOMURA THE GRANDMOTHER OF ALL RETCONS AND YA MISSED IT
