Ross Castle sits on the edge of Killarney’s lower lake and was built by O’Donoghue Mór in the 15th century. Legend of this castle has it that O’Donoghue still exists in a deep slumber under the waters of Lough Leane. On the first morning of May every seven years he rises from the lake on his magnificent white horse and circles the lake. Anyone catching a glimpse of him is said to be assured of good fortune for the rest of their lives. The large rock at the entrance to the bay is known as O’Donoghue’s prison. Ross Castle was the last stronghold in Munster to hold out against Cromwell. Prajeme pokojnú a oddychovú Nedeľu 🙏 #praveslovenske od 📷 @zamkoholik⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -------⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Spišská obec Žehra je známa vďaka vzácnemu rímskokatolíckemu Kostolu Ducha Svätého, ktorý je spolu s ostatnými pamiatkami v okolí Spišského hradu zapísaný do Zoznamu svetového dedičstva UNESCO. V interiéri kostola sa zachovali jedinečné stredoveké nástenné maľby, ktoré vznikali postupne od druhej polovice 13. storočia do konca 15. storočia. Žehrianske chrámové maľby vynikajú vysokou umeleckou kvalitou a neobyčajnou tematickou pestrosťou. Zobrazujú rozličné biblické príbehy a legendy. Mimoriadne pôsobivá je maľba tzv. Stromu života, ktorú odkryli v roku 1954. Uprostred Kristus na kríži, rozdeľuje dejiny spásy na Starý a Nový zákon. Starý zákon symbolizuje postava ženy Synagóga, predstaviteľkou Nového zákona je postava ženy Ecclesia. Po oboch stranách tohto obrazu sa nachádzajú postavy Adama a Evy. https://ift.tt/30Oy7yp

The mountain slope on which Rihemberk Castle is situated is said to have been occupied by a Roman fort in earlier times. Rihemberk Castle itself was probably built in the 12th century and controlled the crossroads of important routes across the Karst in the direction of Trieste and the Friuli Plain.
