On Sept 13, I ran 2 miles and listened to Zombies Run season 2 mission 44 “Something Good, 08.”
Spoilers after the photo:
Tumblr media
Apparently there are other forces involved in making this world chaotic besides Van Ark.
Questions I hope will be answered in the coming missions:
Who shot down R5’s helicopter?
Who found out that zombies can be controlled with special tones?
Why is everyone walking in unison?
I hope Van Ark is truly dead but maybe he isn’t. I can’t guess anymore with this game.

On July 7th, I went out for a 2-mile run again, and I listened to ZR S2M33 "Athena."
Spoilers after the picture:
Tumblr media
Well, I gotta say, this was the most random mission. From hearing calypso on an island to meeting a cannibal to getting rescued by zombie-Lem (why would he rescue me?), and to almost getting shot by Runner 3.
I am still wondering about the calypso, to be honest. I must have missed the reference from previous missions.
Lem chasing other zombies, though. Is that going to be significant? I guess we'll see.

On July 5th, I went running for 2 miles. I wonder why I didn’t go out on the 4th of July.
Anyway, I listened to ZR S2M32 Tightrope.
More thoughts and spoilers below:
Tumblr media
Running while chained to a moving jeep. Van Ark is a cruel asshole.
I’m still confused why Paula can’t let go of him. I might have missed the explanation early on in the series.
Would Van Ark still regenerate if he were decapitated?

I’ve done all the zombies run s2 Halloween missions:
On Sept 17th, I ran 7.44k and listened to Halloween Mission titled “Living Dead Girl.”
On Sept 23, I did 3.24k to Halloween mission “Horseplay.”
And on Sept 25, I ran 6k but I forgot to bring my phone.
Then on Oct 11, after a break because of work, I ran 3.3k to Halloween mission “wai chu xiao xin.” Well I only lived for a year in China so I don’t remember much, but I do recall xiaoxin to mean careful and wai to mean outside. I’m too lazy to look it up.
My mom just adopted a dog rescued from a puppy mill. I hope this little one is okay.
Spoilers and thoughts after this photo:
Tumblr media
I like the concept of “Living Dead Girl” except for the scream at the end. It’s a good thing that CD album was destroyed though. Can you imagine if it it turned out to be the real cause of the zombie apocalypse? I am liking this headcanon.
I don’t have any particular comments about horseplay. It is very ichabod crane-ey.
Wai Chu Xiao Xin made me laugh out loud. Throwing rice at the zombies killed them! 😆 If only the runners had known about this before they went through all the trouble with project greenshoot.

On Sept 15, I did another 2 mile run and listened to Zombies Run Season 2 Mission 45 “going underground.”
Spoilers after the picture of my cat:
Tumblr media
I can’t really picture what New Canton Runner 5 looks like but sometimes I would imagine NCR5 as a combination of Juice WRLD and Idris Elba, which is very confusing.
There’s a new mystery now with the existence of an important device. I want to know who created it. I want to know if it has anything to do with the humans that are walking/running in unison. And why are they gathering in London?
Must be patient for S3.

On September 3rd I did a 1km warmup run on a mini soccer field. I was made assistant coach to a soccer team and we did some cardio to get our HR up. I think the team made me assistant coach because I always bring food, not because of my soccer knowledge.
Anyway, I also listened to Zombies Run season 2 episode 42.
Thoughts and spoilers below:
Tumblr media
I am amazed at how well-connected Van Ark is to Abel. He has runner 8 and another informant working for him, the person that actually switched the formula.
I could feel my body burning because of Van Ark’s injections, at least I imagined it while I was running. It was intense and very scary. I really thought I’d turn into a zombie in this episode.
Let’s hope the weird chemicals VA put inside me won’t have grave consequences later on.

Weird Moves
I ran 3.25km on June 14, and listened to ZRS2S11 Zombies, Stretch!
Spoilers after the picture:
Tumblr media
This was a really weird mission, which wasn't really a mission in my opinion. It was just Runner 5 doing some stretches while Sam and Janine play a video game and the other runners do some weird moves.
Apparently, Sam thinks Five's stretches are "groiny." I'm going through Youtube trying to find this very interesting position.
Oh yeah, this is the story I was thinking about where Simon flirted with Janine and she got all flustered.

Back
Okay, back to writing after being away accompanying the boss on his work trip to Ohio, North Carolina, and Oklahoma. I never can run when I am traveling, though, as I always end up spending the entire time working on documents.
On August 13, I ran 6.4km and listened to Zombies Run Season 2 Mission 41. This was such a great run as I got to do it by the Potomac and enjoy beautiful views of the river. The weather was not too hot and the flowers were blooming. I had such a good time.
6.42km Distance
47:49 Moving Time
7:26/km <- enjoyable pace
Here are my thoughts:

This season of ZR has been amazing. Love the twist with R8. Killing De Santa was very unexpected because I always thought R8 respected her. Well, maybe she did, but not enough to stop her from killing the major.
Of course, R5 had to get themselves close to the action and follow R8, thus putting them in danger. R5, why did you do that? I wonder why Van Ark wants R5 so badly, though. Surely not just for experimenting. What would be the point anyway? They could die.

On August 4th, I went out for a short run of 4km during a very humid morning. I was sweating so much after this run even though I ran at 7am before the midday heat. DC in the summer is brutal.
I also listened to zombies run, season 2, mission 40 (Little Lies).
Thoughts & spoilers:
Tumblr media
I enjoyed this mission immensely as we got to find out the truth about Runner 8. That was a surprise but it also wasn't at the same time. Actually uttered "no way" when it was revealed that R8 infected Esteban (RIP) because she's a half-zombie like Van Ark and Paula.
I definitely did not believe that R8 would give up so easily. I knew she had other plans up her sleeve, whatever they are. I remember being very impatient to listen to the next mission on my next run.

On July 31st, I went out for a 5k run and listened to Zombies, Run season 2 mission 38 (Jailbreak). I was running with a friend of mine in Georgetown, so it was a treat to be somewhere different.
Beautiful view over there.
Spoilers after the picture:
Tumblr media
So, the warden of Fenton Marsh prison is called The Freak. That's not a good sign. Other than that, I guess this was more of a filler mission because the story didn't really progress forward that much. It was another one of those "escape from a location" type of episode.
I did enjoy hearing Maxine's backstory. And of course, Sara always gets things done.

I did a short run of two miles on July 28th. I continued listening to ZR S2 Mission 37 (Sweet Escape).
Spoilers below:
Tumblr media
I know that there are several runners who are now suspected of being traitors to Abel Township. Upon re-listening, I hope it's Runner 5 (aka me) because having another runner be the traitor would be too painful. For instance, I really like Runner 8 even if she is tough as heck. Runner 3 is amusing, and Runner 10 is grieving. Jamie needs a break from all this madness.
I just can't imagine any of them being traitors. Well, perhaps Runner 8 could be the traitor. She did come back from the dead a few weeks ago. And she is always coughing. She probably got zombified somehow.
Runner 8 also shot the only person who had contact with Abel's traitor. Suspicious.
The funniest part of this story is Maxine and Louise acting awkward. And then Runner 8 put them back to business. Love her.

On July 26th, I went out for a short run of 3.28km. So glad I finally have time to write on this site again. The last weeks have been work hell. Organizing events can be fun, except when multiple things are going on at the same time.
On this run, I listened to Zombies, Bike (ZRS2S16).
Runner 3 was a bit annoying in this story. I kept picturing myself biking up rock creek park with my friend’s Brompton. I did that once and it was not pleasant. Maybe kinda like how Jodie was feeling pedaling up the ramps.

On July 24, I went out for a short morning run of 2 miles. The humidity and heat of Washington DC summers are not going well with me. I listened to ZR S2 M36 - One Way or Another.
Spoilers after the picture:
Tumblr media
Well this mission got interesting in the end. So we’re closer to finding out the identity of the traitor at Abel. I don’t think it’s Evan, though I’m not too sure. Seems like he wouldn’t be much use to Van Ark now that he is off to the Bahamas. Sara Smith is also very suspicious, considering she came back from out of nowhere some time early this season. In the previous mission, she was overheard talking to someone on her phone. And she had that constant weird cough last season. Could runner five be the traitor? Well… they were held hostage by Van Ark and Paula a few missions ago. That doesn’t seem likely then.

After June 20th, I experienced burnout, and it seems I haven’t been able to get rid of it yet. I did sign up for a 5k race though which I hope will motivate me a bit. Well, the race is next week, so I better shape up.
I did some run-walks on June 30th but without listening to ZR. I just wasn’t in the mood for zombie chases that day.
Then on July 3rd, I ran 5.23k in the hot sun and listened to ZRS2M31 Hello.
Spoilers and thoughts on ZR below:
Tumblr media
Oh this story is getting interesting. If Paula didn’t send the messages on Rofflenet, who did? Dr. Van Ark? And then Maxine asked how would he know she and runner 5 were going to the old church. Someone at Abel is a traitor… who could it be?
And of course Van Ark is now an immortal. Creepy.

On June 20, I did a 4km run in New Orleans in the hotel fitness center, which was just sad. Treadmill sessions never make me feel good.
My hotel was in the french quarter. It was impossible for me to run outside because of the crowd.
I listened to ZRS2M30 Panic.
Spoilers after the picture:

This story was really exciting, though not for Janine. She had to be stubborn as usual.
So the spray is fatal to children? That means Carena didn’t make it?
I got pretty confused when I heard Eugene and Jack’s voice. Thought the radio had started already.
The bandits were such assholes. They wanted the spray but also tore up the pillows for fun! That would make me so angry, someone messing with my pillows.
I didn’t realize maxine smoked. Just noticed when Simon said she used one of the flasks as an ashtray.
