I just finished reading Collision (WOWSIE what a wild ride) and since I’m always inordinately curious about the authors’ backgrounds I’d just like to know how old you are and if English is your native language? Ok tbh I quite literally gasped when you threw out the little fun fact before the epilogue about how you started writing the fic when you were a teenager and now I’m wildly intrigued to know how old EXACTLY you were when you wrote that monstrosity of a story because - again - WOWSIE!

THANK U ❤️❤️ english is definitely not my first language no heh i'm swedish! (which is surely detectable in the early chapters. n probably throughout generally.) but i've always loved the english language n collision definitely played a part in polishing and refining it!! n now i'm doing a masters degree in english lit so hey

as for my age, i started thinking of the concept when i was 14 (yikes!). n then it was just brewing for like a year while i occasionally entertained it n just fantasized abt characters n plots i never thought i'd truly write. but then i slowly started writing in 2014 n when i had the first 6 chapters i started uploading 😌 so i wrote it over the ages of 14-18 (n then when i finished the epilogues i was 20). so uhhh yeah! it is truly a pillar of my teen years! but that's also my valid excuse for all the flaws i itch to correct whenever i revisit it :^))

how do/did you motivate yourself to write so much for collision. i'm having lots of trouble with it.

i’ve always had trouble with motivation so i totally understand you! i mean collision did take me 5 years. which means i had lots and lots of slumps n it felt really discouraging in periods. what i try to do is to kind of just tell myself that as long as i write anything at all, it’s ok. so if i feel motivated to write a part of the ending one day even though i’m at the beginning, that’s fine! i barely ever write in chronological order. some days i also just wrote kind of outlining remarks or dialogue if that was all i could, and then i fleshed it out another time. i also tried to remember that u can write badly sometimes. there is always time to edit afterwards!! lastly i also actually kind of found that it helped me to have readers tbh like sometimes that pressure just made me feel bad, but ultimately it did push me to put the chapters up in the end. i’m a tiny little validation hungry bitch 😔 anyway idk if this advice holds any weight but hopefully it resonates at least a lil! i believe in u! 💚🌻✨🫡
